CW - I am in a stew.....(groan)  Coffee excellent as usual!

My excellent senses tell me that there is a Mudchicken in the state!  I must prepare for a drive-by!  Sounds like he is doing his usual 4 states in 8 hours!  I only hope he slows down long enough for me to at least catch a glimpse of him!  Big Smile

Auction went well last night - although I didn't buy anything.  The good stuff always comes up when I'm running camera and can't bid!  Only three more nights (of me working - it's every night through Sunday)

Found out the Adirondack has again donated lots of rides and underwrote part of the auction.  I'm not running camera that night, so I'll go in as the RR rep, in uniform, and spend some time in front of the camera.  Not like I haven't done that before.

When the auctioneer/reader is reading the RR's information the station runs a video (instead of the smiling face of the auctioneer).  They're using some stills I provided a while back (including one of moi that they could have left out), too.

Rain here later today - hopefully the driveway coating is now fully set.

Tree:  This sounds like a lot of fun!  I helped on an auction here on our local educational tv and we had a blast!  There was never anything I wanted to bid on at that auction, but it sounds like I could really spend some of the Driver's hard earned $$$$ on your auction.  (Then wonder what I was going to do with it!)

.....Central Indiana, continued light rain and 50 degrees.  5/8" so far starting Sunday morning....I'll let it accumulate until the rain moves on Tuesday sometime and see just how much these several days have produced.  Than it's to be sunshine.

Larry, looks like some very nice items on the auction block!  I volunteered one year, at the local KET during the pledge drive.  It was when I worked at the bank, and we had fun.  They even provided food for us to eat, as we came directly from work, to the studio.  There was about six of us, if I remember correctly, who volunteered to work that night.  That was when I met Ken Kercheval, from the Dallas TV show at the time.

Mookie and others, with the rain today, yesterday, I figured something like beef stew and cornbread would sound pretty good.

And, if anyone doesn't want beef stew and cornbread, there's also some of the lasagna, garlic bread and salad left from yesterday.

Everyone have a good afternoon, and keep safe and dry.

I have attended one live auction in my lifetime, and that was enough. I raised my hand to scratch my head and nearly bought a large keg of 10 penny nails! Never again!

It already has cleared of rain for now Justin....It's a lot lighter now, but believe we'll have a bit more before it is finished.

My cousins' grandfather was an auctioneer - and a pretty good one at that.  They made money each summer working at his auctions - carrying stuff out for show and delivering items to the bidders (if it was small enough to carry).  I worked a few auctions with them.

I don't routinely attend traditional auctions - I'm not one to buy for buying's sake, and there's not a lot on my shopping list.  I don't often buy things at the PBS auction, but I have been know to pick up a bargain.  The fire-themed toy chest that came up for sale last night was tempting....

Good Tuesday morning, everyone.  It's a nice and cool morning here in Louisville:  47 degrees, with a possibility of scattered rain showers this morning.  The weather system that has been hanging over us, just isn't going anywhere; so we keep the possibility of scattered rain.  Our high for today isn't supposed to be over 53, 54 degrees.

Coffee, juices, hot chocolate and hot water for tea are ready.  Mookie, your coffee mug is washed and dried and on the counter, ready for coffee to be poured into it, whenever you get in here.

On the warmer bar this morning:  bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage, your choice of scrambled or fried eggs, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, and hash browns.

Since we had so few in here last night, lunch today will be leftover beef stew and I'll bake more cornbread to have with the stew.  Then, for tonight, do you all want our regular Tuesday Mexican Fiesta or would you prefer something else for tonight?

I'll see you after I get through with Tuesday Produce.  Take care, everyone, and have a good morning.

Been out fixing my "flat loco".  This railroading is becoming a lot of work!

We had a nice conversation yesterday with our favorite Mudchicken.  He was doing one of his infamous "how many states can I cover in 3 days" routine.  We just happened to be one of the "rest stops".  Unfortunately he didn't bring the original 2nd Driver (Gus the Scotty)  I always enjoy seeing Gus! And, of course, Sir C, too!  Blush

Coffee over.  Need to do some producing of my own.  Have some book work to catch up on.  (Love the sound of that!  Wish it was more than writing checks to pay bills!)

Interesting things, those flat locos....

Another dreary day.  Nice sleeping weather, and I hear the waterbed calling, although it has a pretty good voice if I can hear it from 20 miles away.....

Auction again tonight.

Ever see someone who has just enough similar features in their face that they remind you of a celebrity (or just someone else you know)?   Had one at the auction on Sunday - reminded me of country singer Sarah Evans.  This woman obviously isn't a country fan (I'm not either, for the most part, although the videos are usually more entertaining that rock vids), as she'd never heard of Ms Evans.  Would be interesting to be at her workplace, though, when she told a co-worker that someone thought she looked like Sarah - especially if the co-worker thought for a moment and replied in the affirmative...

Good morning. CW, thanks much for breakfast this morning. Currently, we have 44 degrees  and an overcast, cloudy sky here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. It is supposed to warm up to about 64 this afternoon. Having nothing better to do, I'm going to try to get a good start on getting my yard cleaned up, and I want to try getting some of it done before it starts raining, if indeed it will rain today.

Yesterday I had submitted an application for employment with one of our local Hy-VEE grocery stores, and I was told that they may call me next week for an interview - if they have an opening that they need to fill, so I am quietly and anxiously hoping......

Since we had so few in here last night, lunch today will be leftover beef stew and I'll bake more cornbread to have with the stew.  Then, for tonight, do you all want our regular Tuesday Mexican Fiesta or would you prefer something else for tonight?

I've got the beef stew heated up for lunch, and just took a couple of large pans of cornbread out of the oven.  Both are now on the warmer bar; there is also some salads made up, and in the cooler.

We had a very busy morning at Produce:  71 people, and got some goodies off the truck this morning:  cabbage, apples, bags of carrot slices, onions, potatoes, and some diced green onions in bags.  They left us only 40, 45 10 lb. bags of potatoes, so we had to cut the bags open, and pour half into plastic bags, so there would hopefully be enough for everyone to get potatoes.  Did'nt work, as we still ran out of potatoes.  At least a dozen people were not able to get potatoes this morning.  But no one complained about what they got or didn't get, so that was a good thing.  (Sometimes, we have people complaining that they didn't get this or that, and want to know why we ran out.)

If you all want something different for supper tonight, other than our usual Tuesday Night Mexican Fiesta, please let me know what you'd rather have, and I'll get on it.

It's beginning to cloud over outside, so we may be getting ready to get a stray shower, which was predicted for this afternoon.  Everyone take care, have a good afternoon, keep safe and take care.

As the day continues one here....it's acting like March weather.  Dark clouds and rain and I even saw something on the windshield that was beyond rain....like sleet, and the next 5 min. we see the sun shining.  We're in the 40's now...way below normal for this time in April.  And they are saying we'll be in the low 80s as soon as Thursday.....??  Weird.

A beautiful day for our drive from Warsaw to Washington; nary a raindrop along the way. Yesterday was quite different, with rain off and on all the way from Danville to Warsaw, complete with a heavy shower between Weems (where my parents met) and Warsaw. Tomorrow, off on the Cardinal.

Quentin, we made it up to 53 for our high today.  Like you said, way below our normal!  We did have some light rain showers about a couple of hours ago.  Not very long, sun came right back out.  Definitely weird weather.  Watch:  next month, we'll probably have weather so hot, it'll feel like July 4th around here.

Here's our Mexican/TexMex Fiesta menu for tonight:

1.  Burritos (beef, beef & bean, and beef enchilada style);  2. Tacos (soft shell and hard shell);  3. Mesquite-grilled Steak or Tilapia;  4.  Chimichangas;  5. Sour cream chicken enchiladas;  6.  Quesadillas;  7. Smoked cheddar bacon burgers;  8. Spanish rice;   9. shredded lettuce w/diced tomatoes;   10. 6 oz. sirloin steaks

I probably won't be back in tonight; haven't felt too well this afternoon, and seem to be running a little bit of a temp/fever.  Hope I'm not trying to come down with something.Sigh

Good Wednesday morning, everyone.  Now that I've gotten everything cleaned up from last night (threw out all the food on the warmer bar & washed up everything), the coffee, juices, hot chocolate and hot water for tea are ready.

On the warmer bar this morning:  bagels, bear claws and toasted BLTs.

Think I'm feeling better this morning.  At least I'm not running a temp this morning, and my headache is gone.  Everyone have a good morning, and take care.

Had our first thunderstorm of the season last night - and I was tied to a camera so couldn't even go out and watch it!  It certainly poured - we could hear it in the studio.

I did pick up a small replica of a Tyler Coverlet and a matching tote.  Tyler Coverlets were all custom woven for their intended recipient - they were often given as wedding gifts.  The work was meticulous.

The fellow who created them built his own loom and did the designs.  Unfortunately, he never trained anyone (specifically his kids) to do an entire coverlet - he always finished them himself - so when he died suddenly, so did the making of these unique coverlets.

Joe - thanx for coffee

CW - my money is on "spring fever".  Allergies can do a lot of damage, so put a small muff over your nose when you are oot and aboot!  And close your eyes.  OK - maybe just stay in especially on windy days!

Tree - what will you do with a replica?  Is it a full-sized replica?  Looms are fascinating to watch.  I hope it doesn't dawn on The Driver that it sounds interesting and maybe something fun to do.  We would have to back Millie out of the garage to set up one.

I don't want to say this too loudly, but think BNSF is running a few more trains.  Been pretty noisy overnite and this morning.

AND - I have my south bedroom window open and it feels and smells so good!  Fresh Air!

Good to hear. There are probably a few Vancouver Canuck fans in this are who have headaches today after that big win last night. A Vancouver vs Chicago series would be quite entertaining.

Thanks for the toasted BLTs. Maybe I should skip lunch after eating 3 of them.

It's only a table runner woven in the same style (and with some recognizable design elements) of a full sized coverlet.  I may make it into a wall hanging.

Wish I had the real thing!  There is one that was woven for a family member (on my mother's side - so it has that family name), but it's in the hands of an unknown collector.

Mookie, you are probably right, about it being "spring fever"!  If so, Mutt's had the same symptoms today:  chilly here in the house, wearing long sleeves, and constant headache.

Unfortunately, we can't just stay in the house, have to get outside and do things around the yard.  And it's been very breezy today.  At least the temp has been warmer today, but you still need a jacket on when you go outside:  wind makes it feel cooler than what the thermometer records as the temp.

For supper tonight, we have Pork chop abracadadbra, with broccoli and cheese sauce, Stove Top stuffing (pork flavor), mashed taters and gravy, and for anyone who doesn't want broccoli, there is lima beans w/corn.

Gonna go now, and figure out what buses I need to catch tomorrow:  got a call and my ankle/arch support is ready for me to come in for a fitting.  Know I will have to take two buses to get there.

Everyone have a good evening and take care.
