Actually, I consider Dallas/ Fort Worth to be a black hole, we can usually count on being stuck there for at least a day, we don't haul much out of there.

Beautiful night here, should be a great day to run, hopefully without use of the A/C.  Will try to get in tonight, but depends on where I am able to stop. I want to try to make it to the TA at I-71 and US 35, but will settle for Eaton at exit 10 on I-70 if it gets tight.  We'll see how things go, especially fuel wise, first stop is just 50 miles down the road for some cheap Ohio fuel, one of the cheapest states for diesel in the eastern half of the country.

See everyone later......

Well, looks like we've really been slow in here today.  Everything from breakfast/brunch has been cleared off the warmer bar, and I've made the pizzas for tonight.  Here is the menu of pizzas for tonight:

SATURDAY NIGHT PIZZA FEST:

1.  anchovie

2.  ghoetta

3.  Hawaiian

4.  pepperoni/mushroom

5.  supreme

6.  calzones (just in case Sac Guy drops in and anyone else who likes calzones!)

We were supposed to reach a high today in the low 80s, and right now, at 5:23 EDT, our temp is 79 degrees f.  And instead of sunshine, it's overcast outside.  But, I'm not complaining one bit.  Our Ky. State Fair starts next Thursday, and school starts back Tuesday, so you know it'll be hotter than a firecracker!!

You all have a great evening, and enjoy your pizzas.

Pizza Supreme sounds good.

fuel. Prices for diesel coming down. I've actually seen them under $4.40 @ gal.  Give it a week maybe under $4?  but I digress.  Enjoy the good weather.   Temps have come down here in Ar this wkend a little.

Oh yeah Hope is having their annual Watermelon Festival.

Joe, would you like any of that corn boiled or grilled tomorrow, to go with the roast & carrots I'm planning for Sunday Dinner?  If so, just let me know, o.k?Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Sounds like you all got a very good mess of fresh, homegrown produce today!  I've done quite a bit of corn shucking over the last 52 years (yes, Daddy put my twin and I to work at about 4 years old, shucking corn, picking up apples, peaches, persimmons, grapes, and whatever else he had planted in the family garden.  And it was my dubious job of helping Mama make sweet pickled beets, dry apples  and peaches, and get the beans and peas ready to can and freeze, etc.  Seems like my older sister was never at home, at those times.

Everyone have a nice, peaceful evening, and see you all tomorrow!!

.....Our Sunday morning starts {at this time}, with 62.2 degrees and the sun working it's way towards rising above the neighbors trees....

We actually did receive some rain late last night and that seems good and well because now it will be towards the end of the week before any possibility of more is forecast.....But you know, sometimes they are wrong.

So from the present perspective....it looks like a good Sunday.  Hope it's like that up in Watkins Glenn, NY for the race....Attended a race {not Nascar}, up there many years ago....nice country.

Good Sunday morning, everyone!  It's a very pleasant 66 degrees here in Lou., KY, but the temp is supposed to drop another couple of degrees this morning, as the sun  is starting to come over the horizon.  Our high today is to be 84 again today.

Quentin, some areas around us are getting a little bit of scattered rain this morning.  It already seems to be dissipating, as it continues to the east of us.

Coffee, juices, tea, lemonade, and hot water for hot tea are all ready.  On the breakfast bar this morning:  cantaloupe, watermelon, BLTS, if anyone wants any, and there's plenty of pizza left from last night.

Guess I'd better head back to the kitchen, and get the roast, carrots & onion on for Sunday Dinner.  Along with the side dishes of corn on the cob and baked potatoes, we'll also have cole slaw.  Is there anything else any of you would like to have with it this afternoon/evening?!?!?!  What kind of desserts would you like to have today?

Alas, they weren't running the Mudhen yesterday, but we did get a nice ride.  Very popular - it appears that they fill every train.  The Crossroads Village is very nice - didn't spend a lot of time looking around (Mom's 82 - she gets around well, but there is a limit), and that got cut short by a downpour.  I'll get a couple of pictures up when I can edit them.

Bob, you've got it:  just got about four peach pies made and in the oven for dessert today.

And the roast, etc., for our Sunday Dinner here in the Cafe/Diner will be ready, and on the warmer bar, by 1 p.m. EDT.  Looks like everything is going nicely this morning.

Read that article, Bob, and it's a very good one, too.  Even printed it out.

I'll grab a plate of whatever's ready to eat.  Gotta watch the end of USA vs. CHINA in b-ball and then get to work on the lawn.

My weather station had 48 degrees for a low last night!  IN AUGUST!  How nice.

Hard to say.  Last winter we sure got the 1-2 of deep snow then bitter cold/wind and it kept repeating!

Of course...if I didn't like winter I might've minded more!

Cannonball, glad you could make it in!!  I've missed seeing you in here.  Please, come back in a little bit more often, o.k?  And tell Shirl "hello" for me.

We just finished supper a little bit ago, here at home in Louisville.  We also had roast, carrots & onion, w/baked potatoes, corn on the cob, and cole slaw.  (I'm the only one who ate cole slaw, though:  the other two won't touch it.)

Joe, got you a container ready for work tonight.  Hope you were able to find it in the fridge.

Mutt and I both heard on the local news weather report, that either in the morning, or Tuesday morning, we're to be down in the 50s for the overnight low!  I'm also wondering, Dan & Quentin, if we're maybe not in for an early fall, and wonder how this strange weather in August is going to affect our winter.

You all have a great evening, and see you in the morning!!

C W.....It's certainly not been as warm {hot}, this summer as we had last year.  Sure hope that is not an indicator for the upcoming cold season....{don't even like to mention that season by name.....}.

This summer seems to be passing too quickly...but I suppose it always does.  A very beautiful day here today, but just not normal to be this nice...{low humidity}, etc....In August...!

A day at the house is better than on the road. I run for a company. Much easier than having to worry bout loads fuel prices etc. Co says which way to point the truck & get there on time. Been at the house all wkend. Time to go to work.

Large unsweet Ice Tea to go.

An early fall wouldn't necessarily be bad for me personally.  As of late (now that I have regained use of my left leg and left index finger-FINALLY!) I've had an itch to exercise some "high velocity trans-cortial lead therapy" on some local specimens of Sciurus Carolinensis and Sciurus niger.  Sorry for the clever attack...lol.  I guess I paid attention in college that day!

I had the pleasure of catching several new CN SD70M-2s this evening working a stack train both north and south.  Being the GE fan that I am...they sure do look and sound nice while under throttle!

I'll grab a small bowl of sherbet and lurk for a bit while I tidy things up for tomorrow AM.

Dan, thank you so much, for cleaning up for me from last night!!  As always, the help you guys give is always greatly appreciated.  Dan, how did practicing cutting the wedding cake go?!?!  You didn't smack it into your fiance's face, did you?  Certainly hope not!!Smile [:)]

Coffee is ready, juices are freshly made, and tea is also freshly made this morning.

On the warmer bar this morning:  oatmeal, toast, turkey bacon, pork sausage patties, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, and several different boxes of cereal are on the counter, beside the bagels and bear claws.

It is nice a cool here this morning.  We have a temp in the low 60s here in the Louisville area.  Some places just north of Louisville, and in the Southern Indiana area are in the low to mid 50s.

....58 degrees and a cloudless sky.  Just heard a {NS}, train pass {one mile north} on the Frankfort line.....Seems the sound carries so well, with us having this real low humidity that the trains passing there seem to be coming right thru our neighborhood...

It's really surprising how close the horns sound these last several days since the weather has been dryer and cooler...And much of the traffic on that line thru here is at night.

Well, since it's so cool today, and I had so much roast left from yesterday, here in the Cafe/Diner, I decided to put it to a very good use:  we have beef stew w/fresh-baked cornbread for for lunch and supper today.  You'll see a large pot on the warmer bar, with the beef stew in it, and the cornbread also.

Sad to hear about Isaac Hayes, and Bernie Mac.  Isaac's death is a loss to the music profession.   I would watch Bernie Mac's TV show, but I never saw any of his other comedy routines.

Joe, and anyone else, I've also made sure there are a few containers put into the fridge for you all to take w/you for work tonight, or just to take home for tonight.

Saw WC 6004 (SD40-2: one of 3 of those still in WC paint!) on the way back to work after an errand.  She was pulling an empty potash train NB with loads of MoW stuff on the first 6 or so flat cars.  Nice change from CaNoodle!

I'll grab a plate of whatever's handy...hungry today.
