.....And yes, Walt....it looks like I've got job security in that yard mowing as we got 1.7" of rain overnight to keep it growing.  But that makes those darn shrubs grow too and that means continous trimming.

Hang on to the 'brella Ed.....

Joe, I see you got your plate for work tonight.  That's good to know.  We're under a severe thunderstorm watch until 11 p.m.   South of us, in Brandenberg or in Brekcinridge County,  they were under a severe thunderstorm warning about a half hour or so ago.  Guess it's heading our way, more than likely.  Think I'll feed the dog and take her out before it hits our area.  You all have a great evening, and take care!!

Good Wednesday morning everyone.  It's a little bit on the wet side out this a.m.  We had a pretty good rain come in sometime after midnight (I didn't hear a thing after I went to bed), and had moved east of us, by the time I awoke at 4;45 this morning.  But, we're supposed to have a little bit more coming in sometime later this morning, and that's not supposed to amount to much, maybe just sprinkles or drizzle.  Right now, our temp's in the low 70s, going for a high in the low to mid 80s, I think I heard.  But either tomorrow night, or Friday night, they say we could have lows in the low to mid 60s.  That would be sooooo nice!

Coffee is ready, fresh juices, iced tea and lemonade are also freshly made this morning.  And, on the breakfast bar this morning:  turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, oatmeal, toast, biscuits w/sausage gravy, fresh cantaloupe, watermelon, bagels and bear claws and some chocolate chip muffins.

Does anyone have any requests for lunch and supper?  If so, please let me know, and I'll put it on today's menu.

You all have a great morning, take care, and keep safe!!

A bit damp here overnight - 2/3" of rain.  Sun's out now, though, so I can get the lawn mowed before I hit the road.

Off to pack the truck.....

.....Temps. on the rise from {now 76}, and bright sunshine and probably no rain again for several days.

Lots of dew on the grass this morning but as soon as it is dry enough, we'll be out  with the John Deere doing another mowing.

Well, since no one gave me any requests for today, here's what I've come up with:

meat loaf w/mashed taters and gravy, you choice ofgreen beans or broccoli and cauliflower w/cheese sauce, applesauce flavored w/cinnamon and fresh baked homemade biscuits and dinner rolls.

Desserts today:  Dutch apple pie, chocolate cake w/white icing, yellow cake w/chocolate icing, and white cake w/coconut icing.

....Cool Tom...I am not...Just got off the John deere finishing up the yard mowing for today.  It's not that hot by the thermometer but boy, that sun still has power and it is shining bright today.  So we're in here cooling off a bit before thinking what's next.  Need some lunch soon.

Actually, the thermometer is showing just 83 plus, but the sun is really driving it home....

After reading this, Trapper (aka "Stealth Cat") decided to sample something besides cake.

Catnip plant was in transition from one "Cat proof place"? to another.

I would like a piece of cake also, if there's any left!

Cloudy, 83 degrees here right now, no sign of those thundershowers that were promised.

Dan, good to see you in here, don't be such a stranger.

As far as the chocolate cake goes, you'll have to ask Mookie; but I'm suspecting she'll

have her Paws hands full protecting what's already here. (if Trapper hasn't gotten into it!)

(CW just told me that there were two Large Chocolate cakes made, so you should be safe.)

It's nice to pop back in.  I've been busy...but who hasn't?

Fear not...I'll leave lots left for Ms. Mook.  I'll just grab this wee slice...there, that won't even be missed!

We're now knocking on 44 days until the wedding...so much to do even though most is already done.  I've learned to love the phrase "Yes, dear" and it works so well!  LOL!

Dan, if you check the freezer, you should find a "wedding cake:  3 layers w/a bride and groom on top.  You can take that, if you wish, and you and fiance can practice "cutting the cake" (but, make sure you let it thaw first.  Don't want you trying to cut through a frozen cake!)  Plus, try not to stay away from here so long.

Coffee is brewing, juices freshly made, along with fresh teas and lemonade.  And, of course, we have plenty of Gatorade for the mudchicken!

On the breakfast bar this morning:  BLTs on toast, omelettes, and cereal.

Currently here in Metro Louisville, we have a temp of 76 degrees, and the sun is beginning to peek out.  They are forecasting a high of 86? for today, and the cold front is on it's way in, but hasn't made it just yet.

Okay, Mookie, where are you?  I've got your coffee mug down, and waiting to fill it up for you, when you get in here!!

Howdedo. It's another hottun in Carolina this mornin'. Already, it's 81, clear, but headed to near 100 with thunderstorms. It seems that these thunderstorms just won't let up. Last night, I got caught out in one. The car was rocking and rain was basically horizontal, and shazzam it was gone. Before it passed, I got to look down the CSX A line and saw basically white out conditions. Quite a storm.... Everybody try and stay cool

Mookie, did you enjoy your breakfast this morning?  Hope so!

Mudchicken, glad you all are getting some much needed rain!!  I'd also like to see a picture of you dancing in the rain:  think mudhen can take a picture of that for us?!?!

Today's lunch menu:

1.  You can have leftover meat loaf, mashed taters, etc., or

2.  How about meat loaf sandwiches, if you just want a sandwich

Now, I'm off to the kitchen, and string and break green beens.  What would you like to have with the green beans tonight for supper?

I'll grab some of #1 and lurk for a while.

How about grilled chicken breasts with stuffing and green beans on the side tonite?

Thanks for that wedding cake.  We will practice cutting (and eating!) after it's thawed.

Dan, you're welcome on the wedding cake.  And I like your suggestion for what to have with the green beans tonight.  So. . . on that note, here's tonight's supper menu:

grilled chicken breasts w/two kinds of stuffing:  a combination biscuit/cornbread, sage dressing, and a cornbread dressing.

Desserts tonight:  more chocolate cake, oatmeal-raisin cookies, apple cobbler and yellow cake w/chocolate icing.
