How's about some mashed potatoes and glazed baby carrots?

I just got a call from my mother.  She's on her way to your neck of the woods CW: my sister just went into labor with hatchling #3-another girl!  More info as it's available...

CW, peanut butter & banana has always been one of my favorite combinations for a sandwich. So many years ago when my brother and I were youngsters, we were introduced to the peanut butter & banana sandwich by our Dad's father when he lived up in Aberdeen, South Dakota. We liked it so much that we honestly thought it was Grandpa Loftesness's invention!

I still treat myself to a peanut butter & banana sandwhich now and then, and it's best on whole wheat bread. I use the Skippy brand of peanut butter with 25% less fat, with a thick layer of peanut butter on each slice.

One of the nurses in my doctor's office once told me that any peanut butter in my diet should be a NO-NO, because of the high sodium content. You would think that in this day and age, the major peanut butter producers could come out with a product that doesn't have any salt or sodium in it and yet still tastes good.

I've made banana bread before, but that was a long time ago. I should dig out a couple old recipes that I have and then go to work on two or three over-ripe bananas.

Dan, where does your sister actually live?  Is it right on Ft Knox, or E-town, Radcliff, etc.?

Ray, we are going to have to get the Sodium count down around here, but don't try to

take the P.B. away from Paula. One of her favorite snacks is going into the pantry and

getting a jar of peanut butter and a spoon.

Muddy Feathers, do they actually make that kind of repellant, and where can you get it?!

Seems we could use some of that stuff around here; especially for some of the

imbeciles that work for the city, and the idiots that go to the church across the

street from us.

Walt-
Rignt on base at Knox.  Mom got there an hour ago!  Seems she pulled over at a rest stop to take a nap on the way down, sensible thing IMO anyway.  I'll keep all posted on updates.

Coffee, juice, pancakes, bearclaws, beagles, and donuts are ready.  I'll put Mookie's mug over in her usual spot.

Good morning all, and happy Friday Joe. At present, 69 and PC in Carolina. I will have my usual pancakes if available, thank you. CW, we are birds of a feather. I love Jif straight from the jar and can make a meal of it. I like it too in a banana sandwich with a touch of miracle whip. Man alive, that's good eatin'. Stay safe

Good Thursday morning, everyone.  It's a 'nice' rainy morning, here in Louisville.  We just had a little shower, and I think it's stopped now.  For how long, who knows?

Dan, I'll take a couple of pancakes, and a couple of sausages, coffee, and a chocolate covered, cream filled doughnut for breakfast.  And please, keep us updated on your sister!!

Brian, glad to hear Joanie's news!

We had a small fire yesterday here in the city:  The Big Four Railroad Bridge caught fire right around noon.  Believe it was an electrical fire.  Several years ago, one of the local radio stations had lights put on the bridge over the Christmas holidays; people could drive by along the river, and see the lights.  Didn't even know they still had the lights on the bridge.  Definitely haven't seen them lit up for a few years.

Tom, I will usually peel the banana, and spread peanut butter over it.  My daddy would eat peanut butter & salad dressing sandwiches.  Used to have to make them, and put in his lunch box for work.  But I never could get the hang of eating them myself.

Guess that's all the news I have this morning.  Going to go sit in one of the booths, and enjoy my breakfast.  Everyone have a great morning!!

I shall be busy all day at American Legion Post 6 and so will eat hearty this AM and have snacks later.

CW, you keep taking it easy, but your written exercises here are welcome and not stressful.

Breakfast is cleaned up and I've got burgers, brats, dogs, and chicken breasts thawing to be grilled out for lunch today.  They'll be ready in about 45 minutes or so.  I will be away from the computer after 3 PM CST today so if anyone feels like making supper...rock on!

Thanks much for firing up the grill, Dan. I think I'll grab a couple hot dogs while I am here. I am providing desert tonight, I've brought in three gallons of ice cream; vanilla, chocolate and orange sherbet, and there are ice cream cones as well.

Ray, thanks for providing dessert for tonight.  Mutt has taken care of the supper menu:

His spaghetti casserole, w/garlic bread (there's about 6 large loaves), and garden salads.

Think after I eat some of the casserole and garlic bread,  I'll take a bowl of orange sherbet for dessert.

Guess I can handle some tomato sauce tonight.  The orange sherbet sounds particularly inviting.

CSX brought along a newbie (for me, anyhow) to deliver some cars at work today - A GP15, #1550.  It's the first time I've seen that model that I can recall.  Former CR, but in well-worn CSX paint.

Uh, don't guess you were able to get any photos?

Rain pretty much all day today, no severe weather, but bad enough to not want to make you go outside and do anything.

Here is a link to a photo of your locomotive from Railpictures.net:

Otherwise, just do a search on the Railpictures.net homepage for "CSX GP15" and you'll get lots of other photos.

Kind of figured that one, typical military.

Thanks Willy for posting that link.

....Boy, the regular crew must be sleeping.  7:06 and no one here yet.

50.6 temp up here in Muncie and overcast.  But believe the rain has passed....even sunshine later and the coming weekend.

The rain we did get was well needed.  Still haven't peeked at my rain gauge.  Must do that on the way out for the paper.

Edit:  Rain gauge....1.65" last 30 hrs.

Good Friday morning, everyone!  Quentin, I'm in now.  Did manage to sleep in (and everyone else here at home are still asleep).

I've set out doughnuts and danish for this morning, made fresh juice, and have water heating for hot tea.  And there's also the pre-requisite bagels and bear claws on the counter, also.

Not too sure about today and tomorrow, but they are predicting that it'll be a very wet Mothers Day around here Sunday.

I won't be around much today until sometime this afternoon:  go to my primary care doctor, at 11:45, for a post hospital follow-up appointment.  So maybe one of you can take care of our Friday Fish Fry for today.

Good morning, Americans, it's Friday! Currently 70 and overcast in Carolina today. We just had a brief thunderstorm go through and had a little rain. Don't know how much but anything is appreciated. I think I will availe myself of a danish or two, with my thanks. CW, I hope your visit with the primary care quack goes well and you get a clean bill of health. Take care.

Good morning all....it's 49F here in Aurora, IL and 68F inside our house but I refuse to turn the furnace on at this time of the year and will let Mother Nature do her thing and slowly warm the house with sunshine as the day progresses...so I guess that great coffee made for us earlier will have to do the trick until then.  Saturday promises to be sunny and about 68F here but Mothers Day on Sunday will bring us lots of rain and wind...good day to stay inside and pamper Mom.

I am now back from the doctor's!  Doc said everything is a-o.k., everything regarding my heart in the normal range.  So, I guess it's anyone's guess why I had the anxiety attack!!  Had to sit in the waiting room for 45 minutes, before I was taken in the back, for weight, and bp, then to an exam room.  Glad everything checked out all right.

Now that I'm back, I'll take a couple pieces of cod, a couple of hushpuppies, and a cup of coffee.  Then, maybe I'll have a slice of apple pie.  Think I'll forego the fries today.

Finally finished my class at work.  I am now an ergonomics expert!

Our Mother's Day brunch train was cancelled - guess nobody's mom wanted to brunch on the train.  I would have liked to qork it - we would have covered some track I'm not familiar with yet, but I have plenty to do right here at home.

With any luck, the weather will hold.  Nice and sunny right now, if cool, and the rain that showed up in the long term forecasts earlier in the week isn't forecast now.

I believe I'll have seconds...
