Paula, congrats. I know how much it means to be home after a hosp stay. Enjoy yourself and indulge in your family. Now! Food's been kinda poor lately, what with my baloney sandwiches and Mookie's cookin'. Thankfully, there are others that have helped us mightily, and they are to be thanked. However, they cain't hold a candle to you. WELCOME BACK

Ray, Thanks for the "Flattery", I cook when I can, don't really like to do so, and usually

depend of someone else,(like CW)  but I do NOT go hungry!

(now put a grill in front of me.........)

BTW, Flattery and $.50 cents might get you a cup of coffee; or what ever you like to drink.

Glad to see that everything's pretty much back to normal around here- I shall now return to lurking around the layouts.

Weather report- just had a "severe" thunderstorm roll through.  Possible rotation was noticed on radar northeast of us, and the local weather guessers got excited.  All is well, though.

Paula, Joanie's right knee has healed up well, and she's looking forward to getting her left knee done on June 16.

Dan, thanks much for making breakfast here this morning! I'm hungry! I think I'll grab a few pancakes, a few strips of bacon and a bear claw while I am here. And the coffee was brewed to perfection.......good stuff!

Good morning, everyone!  Went to sleep last night around 9:30 or so, and slept until about 6:45 this morning.  Did not wake up even once.  I think I must be allergic to hospitals:  started sneezing Saturday morning, after they put me in a room, and I'm still sneezing.

Dan, think I'll have:  four strips of bacon, two sausages, and a couple of pancakes w/maple syrup, and some scrambled eggs, along with some coffee (decaf, I reckon).  I seem to be very hungry this morning.  Some of the hospital food was good, except for the scrambled eggs.  They were already cold when they brought me my tray in the mornings.

Need to make a trip to the Pharmacy after awhile:  they've changed all my prescriptions, and have to get everything refilled.  (Wonder how much my insurance is going to object to that!!)

At least it looks like it's going to be a beautiful day!  May try to take a book, and sit outside this afternoon.  Walt bought several paperback books for me, for my birthday.  So need to start reading!

I'll leave the breakfast up for another hour and then take it down for lunch.  Requests?

Time for a mid-morning "snack" and I have brewed two fresh pots of coffee...one regular and one decaffeinate (for the likes of CW and me, among others).  With that we have fresh hot glazed crullers out of the oven...yummy in the tummy!  Enjoy!

Thanks for brewing fresh coffee, Jim. I have the day off today and will be drinking coffee all day. BTW, what is a "cruller"?? I've never heard that term before.

My pleasure Ray, the photo below will answer your question...perhaps cruller is a New York term (where I grew up).  They are sometimes covered in powdered sugar and other times with icing and are sometimes round and at other times "straight", but always made with twisted dough.

Bob and Jim, I know CW appreciates your help very much, but do you have to post

pictures like that?! Right now for her, that's Verbotten!! (besides very tempting!)

(you can gain weight through looking at pictures like that...proven fact)

And yes, I guess the "Cafe" will be using more "Decaf" Coffee than before;

Mook, don't worry, there will always yours and my kind!! (not DECAF!)

Beef and Noodles sounds great for this evening,

You got it!  Two extra large crock pots of tips and noodles each are now ready and will be up until 1 PM CST.  Containers are available for those that need to grab some 'to go'.

Anyone check on the Gatorade drum lately?

Dan, I think the Gatorade Drum is close to being full, the company we use, usually

schedules their "visits". If you need too, their number is written down next to

the register at the front counter.

[since mudchicken is the major user, and it's not quite summertime, we don't watch

quite as close as we should!]

NO Problems!! CW got a BIG Chuckle when she saw those pics! And said she wished!

(she's not exactly fond of bananas, but the strawberrys looked fantastic!!)

CW - needs the bananas for potassium.  And if they come on a cream pie - oh well!

We had two interesting items in our local rag this morning - an albino robin.....and an asparagus recipe.

I'd rather eat the robin.

Moo....

An ALBINO ROBIN Mook, you must prefer white meatDinner [dinner].

I shall eat the asparagus as I have been told it is an IQ enhancer and I can sure use that. And the photos of pie are welcome to my computer since I work so hard that the calories are quickly burned.

CW says she doen't need the K!

Be very careful about what you said about the Robin, PETA is looking over your shoulders!

Albino Robins are semi rare; not sure if I've ever seen one of those or not.

You really should eat the As-Per-Grass; it is supposed to be good for you.(forget borders!!)

[uh, I don't like the stuff myself, it's nasty!)

diningcar and others, one of the reasons mudchicken has survived, is the fact that Mook gets all her stuff from ACME; no wonder the Coyote never gets the Roadrunner!

Dan, I'm hungry, and ready for a plate of beef & noodles!  What do you have to go with  them?

We are getting some rain now, and heard a little bit of thunder.  Didn't see any lightning with it, but imagine it's out there!

Don't believe I have ever had banana cream pie.  Banana pudding, and sundaes w/ bananas, and once or twice have had a slice or two of banana bread.  Really love to peel and slice a banana, and put peanut butter on the slices.  Goooooooodd.
