Mornin' all. It is 61 and clear in Carolina this lovely day. CW. Ahm hongry! Ergo, I"ll have several pancakes, a couple of the blueberry muffins, a bear claw and some scrambled eggs. My thanks. The Mrs sends her regards and thanks for the thoughts. Her quack is trying to change her from some meds she has taken for years to some new stuff, and apparently she is in withdrawal from the auld stuff. She has been one more sick girl the past few days, but now seems able to sleep better.

I have been thinking about the CEO of CSX making three million a month. I believe I could make it off such a salary, and likely could make the same decisions, but probably not with the same finesse.... I think I will put in for the job when it opens next time. Time to bring back the ACL anyhow! Nice purple and aluminum diesels and improved track maintenance.

Take care

Tom

Well, I looked at the weather bug as I read GP's post, and it said 61, too.  Now it reads 65 and I'm not complaining.

Sis wants to send Mom east for a bit.  Mom fell Thanksgiving weekend and busted herself up pretty good and Sis is feeling the stress of having to deal with it.  My other sister and myself are too far away from AZ to get involved frequently.

But that just gives me impetus to do a little remodelling and replace that waterbed in the "guest" room, as I've been planning to do anyhow.

Great-grandma will also get a chance to see the newest arrival when she's over here on the right coast.

Just have to figure out when she'll be ready to travel.

Tree - send water bed....will exchange for hammock...

Joe - you should try a feather pillow when you have some extra pocket change.  Mine is wonderful!

Hmmm - sounds like I travel between fridge and bed - yep - sure does!

All this talk of naps is making me sleepy!!  Guess I'll try to take one in a bit.

Sandwiches for lunch today:  roast beef & cheddar cheese, turkey & swiss cheese, ham & American cheese,  PB&J, tuna salad, and ham salad.  And you have a choice of fries or chips, and garden salad or cole slaw w/your sandwich(es).

Supper tonight will include whatever requests you all give me this afternoon.    My brain is so asleep, I can't think of anything on my own to fix for tonight!  So, give me some meal requests for tonight.

Let's keep it simple tonight and go to the grill!  A few salads on the side, etc.

Larry, I like your sugestion:  simple, and the grill is hot!   Thank you for your suggestion!  On tonight's menu:

Brats, burgers, hot dogs, and corn on the cob; side dishes:  potato salad, macaroni salad, cole slaw and baked beans.

Beverages:  iced tea (sweetened and unsweetened), lemonade, fruit punch, and soft drinks of all kinds.

Good Thursday morning, everyone.  Looks like it will basically be a beautiful day here today.  Currently, we have a temp in the 60s, with only a 20% chance of spotty showers later tonight, after a high of about 83.

Coffee is ready, and I've made fresh juice for this morning.    There's also hot water for tea.  On the breakfast bar, all the regular breakfast menu, including pancakes for anyone who wants them.  And, of course, Mookie's bagels and Larry's bear claws.

On the news this morning, I saw a piece on a trucker, who is protesting the high price of diesel and gasoline.  He's riding his horse, and carrying a sign stating that he's protesting the high cost of diesel and gasoline.   Think maybe I need to find me a pony to ride.  Wink [;)]Laugh [(-D]

.....'Morning all.....A bright start to our morning.  60 degrees now after an 82 yesterday.  Might see a spot of rain sometime today.  A hit or miss forecast of rain possible.

Getting close to another yard mowing time again, but I don't mind that when it's so nice outside.  April and May...for me, love it.

So many blossoms around now making everything so nice.

Still waiting on my Humming birds to return though...None yet.

I surely think just any day now.....I'm anxious to see if I can see any of the same birds that were here last season.  I know I'll be able to ID one if he is one that comes back.

We're in the middle of a downpour as I type this.

Greetings, all.  Sorry for being so scarce around here lately, but I've been re-dedicating myself to losing weight and avoiding food at all costs, including the virtual stuff.  Since last Friday I've taken off six pounds, and I feel great again.  Now if I can just keep it going...

Good morning. I'm getting ready to go to work. This is the first time that I will have left home this early for work with my current job other than Saturdays and Sundays. I start work at 7:30 and will work until 2:00 this afternoon.

We have 60 degrees here in Sioux Falls this morning, and a 60% chance of thunderstorms, so I will be sure to take my umbrella with me.

Our local HO scale railroad club, the Sioux Valley Model Engineer's Society will be hosting an open house this weekend, Saturday and Sunday. We have one of the better club layouts in this region, and I think it is a shame that most of the members of this particular forum don't live within a couple hundred miles of Sioux Falls, otherwise you would all receive an open invitation to see our layout and watch the trains. We operate an average of six to nine trains at any given hour.

I hope the rest of you out there have a good day. Off to work I go!

Joe, hope you really like leftovers.  I've warmed up the leftovers from the grill-out last night and they're on the warmer bar.  There are containers made up for you for work, and they are in the fridge.

Haven't seen any precip yet, but for the last hour, it's looked like it could start raining any time.  (And it's not supposed to start until about midnight, give or take a little bit on either side.)  Guess we'll see what happens later on tonight.

Nice and dry here, but cooling down a bit over the end of the week.  Sunday's forecast no longer includes rain, a good thing as I still plan on exploring with that author.  Just not sure exactly where he'll be and when - could be a challenge.

Time for a bedtime snack and ... bed.

Good Friday morning everyone!  We have a temp in the low 70s this morning, and I think it'll be a fairly nice day today.

Coffee, fresh juices, and hot water for tea are ready.  On the warmer bar this morning, pancakes & syrup, sausage, turkey bacon and scrambled eggs, along with our regular assortment of danishes, doughnuts, muffins, bagels and bear claws.

You all have a good morning, and hopefully, I'll  see everyone in here throughout the day.

Good morning, CW. You seem to be up bright and early this Friday. I think I will have the pancakes and link sausage, with some scrambled eggs. For some reason, my desktop weather is down, so I can't give the stats this morning. other than to say it's nice here. Take care

The breakfast menu here sounds pretty good to me, CW, I'm hungry!

It rained all day here in Sioux Falls yesterday, and I have no idea how much rain we had gotten. It is still raining here this morning and there is the threat that it will turn into snow later this afternoon. We have 34 degrees and the radio station that I am listening too just said that we are getting some sleet.

I've picked up a head cold and my sinuses are a mess, but I reckon I will weather it and just let it run it's course..........I could be in a lot worse shape.

I hope the rest of you out there have a good day.

Well, the pyrotechnics have begun again this morning.

Yesterday morning we received 1.4 inches of rain, and this morning promises to be even worse if the radar is any indication.

...Weather channel's forecast late last night showed all kinds of spoty rain moving thru our area, but not much happened overnight....Still rather dry here.  Must check our rain gauge I just put back out yesterday after the winter rest....

Later today a potential for some more weather as the front will pass us {projected to}, later this afternoon early evening.

A warm start this morning and forecast to be in the 80's today.

Sunshine right now.

Checked out our viewing location again early evening {McD's parking lot} with some snacks.....and it sure seems to me the NS traffic {now}, is less than a year ago.  That's on the Frankfort line out of Muncie.  Maybe just a  lull now....We'll keep an eye on it.  Maybe the times have changed.  We sure hear train movements from home here...{about a mile away from the line}, especially at night...That might be some of the difference.

Waterwings and umbrellas are in the closet...

We're in for some weather of the next week - t'storms, rain.  It'll be nice - might cut down on the vegetation fires, which are occuring in spite of a burn ban.

Bearclaw and tea.

PBS auction again tonight.  Haven't seen much I wanted to buy, but it's going pretty well.

I am baking chocolate chip cookies this morning, the intent is to share them with my co-workers at Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers. I've got plenty of cookie dough on hand and will leave three dozen chocolate chip cookies at the Flat Wheel Cafe for everyone to enjoy. Chef [C=:-)] CW and Mutt know that I make a good cookie!

Ray, you definitely make good cookies!  Chocolate chip, huh?  Hmmm, I'm gonna have to not eat more than two of them, so everyone else gets some.  But, everyone, Ray's cookies are delicious!  His oatmeal cookies are "to die for" good.  We'll serve them after lunch, which is on the warmer bar:  our regular Friday Fish Fry is ready, and taking up the fries, hushpuppies, and corn on the cob now.  Have cole slaw and potato salad in the cooler.

Just got a call from a sheriff's deputy - seems a member of the family of one of our firefighters was burning some plastic silage bags back in the back 40, and the smoke was visible, well, everywhere.  We've gotten called on that before, but the place he burns is so far off the road that I wouldn't dare take a truck out there.

He'll get a warning - they aren't giving tickets just yet.  He plead ignorance of the ban.

As for why I got the call - they couldn't reach our current chief, and let's just say that dispatch has my number...

Tree - We know why they call you - you are still the "chief".....  Cool [8D]

You mentioned your mother - mine just called and at 87, wants a puter.  I wish she would have done this when I was younger and had more patience.  Fortunately, she will get my old one to tinker with just as soon as I get my new one in May.

From the land of all seasons - we had snow in the northeast, (So Dak really got the snow) and a tornado in the southeast corner of the state.  Ah spring....

Mookie, I think that your Mom wanting a computer is great.

Larry, I tend to agree with Mookie:  there will always be people who will forever consider you "Chief".    And maybe one day, you'll actually be chief again!!

If anyone wants  anything, just check out the warmer bar, and the cooler.  You'll find plenty to fill your tum-tums.
