Good Saturday morning, everyone!  It's going to be another HOT day here in Louisville.  Hazy and humid as well.  We're currently at 76, 77 degrees, depending on the area in which you live.  High today:  mid 90s, meterologists are saying around 94 degrees.  Think I'd better find the sunscreen before we head out to Family Day.

Coffee, juices, teas and lemonade are ready.  Even have some extra, extra, extra ice cold Gatorade (mudchicken, do you need some?)  On the breakfast/warmer bar this morning:  pancakes, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, fried taters; cold cereal w/fresh fruit & toast; blueberry and strawberry muffins, bagels, bear claws and cinnamon rolls.

You all have a great day, stay as cool as possible, and I'll see you all back in here tonight for our Saturday Night Pizza Fest.

....73 starts our day here in Muncie....Bright sky.  So, guess we'll have another hot one.  There is a chance of rain {someplace}, but it will be just by chance....Nothing widespread.

Good morning fellas and gals. Currently 75 and sunny in Carolina this lovely day. I slept in and man was it nice, till the girls allowed they had to go out..... Tonight is BBQ rib night again, and I look forward to that! My side yard is looking kinda raunchy, and since I can't cut it, I may just call Acme Rent a Goat and let them handle it. It would have to be a small one though, cause I know a guy who was butted completely over a fence and out of the yard.... He was not amused. Yall take care

Same here in Winston-Salem (Winston for us locals). Cloudy with no hope of rain for the next couple or three days. Been dry here, but not quite as bad as last year.

Had to work half a day to get a little bit more for the pay period, errands to run and a pup to look at. Anyone with an idea of a big dog that doesn't eat you out of house and home????

....Might be a good day here in our area to be on the look-out for sun kinks....{on the railroad}....Bright sunshine with not a cloud in the sky.  Just came out of an air cooled restaurant in the past hour to the paved parking lot, and it felt like stepping into an oven.  Temp. is registering just 91.2 here at home, but the sun power is brutal.   And that's where the rails are for the most part....in the sun.

Well,  we're back from the CSX Family Day picnic.  Had a good time, except they didn't have a train to tour this year.  What a bummer!!  But they had a little train for the kiddos to ride, and had a big blue dog inflatable slide for the kids.  Even had some antique cars:  a Chevy Chevelle SS, a Corvette Stingray, and an old red pickup truck (can't remember the name on it, though).    And lots and lots of food and soft drinks, water, lemonade, tea, etc.  (nothing alcoholic).

I'm kind of short on the pizza menu tonight, but here's what available:

1.  Cheese w/extra cheese

2.  Hawaiian

3.  Pepperoni/mushroom

4.  Supreme

You all enjoy your pizzas, and have a great evening.  From:

your very  tired cook

.....A steamy hazy morning to start....{Hear a train passing on NS as I type}, and the temp is 73, so another rather hot one I'd say.  Bright in the east as the sun works up over the haze....No rain yet.

Quentin, our current temp is 76, and going for a high today of 96.  Very warm, muggy and hazy out.  Doesn't even seem to be even a tad bit of a breeze blowing, either.

Coffee, juices, teas and lemonade are ready.  On the warmer bar this morning:  bacon, sausage, cinnamon rolls, and strawberry muffins are on the warmer bar.

You all have a great morning, and talk with you later.

What a horrible day outside...nothing but blue sky, 67 degrees, and a slight breeze blowing in from the NW.  We're shooting for a high of 75 today and no humidity to speak of.  I hate when that happens!  Big Smile [:D]

Thanks for breakfast CW, it sure smells good!  I have some time today so I'll sit trackside and see if CN will send any more GEVOs my way.  Made a stop in Green Bay yesterday after a work related workshop in the morning.  Picked up a CNW AC4400, 8826, in HO scale that I've been wanting but not able to find for a long time...made my day!  I also got some decoders for some of my 'fleet' and some scenery related items.  It might help on the 'to-do' list on my layout.

Take care all, and I'll pop in later!

CNW - That sounds like here on Friday and Saturday.  T'storms in the forecast for for later today, but I got all my yard work done on Friday and in fact have stuff that needs to be done inside...

Nice day for running on the RR.  Spent the whole day as conductor (still in training) - the conductor said he had it easy - I did all the work.  Last train was a wine train - the customers were well behaved, and the live band was pretty good, too.  (Nope - didn't have any - Rule G, donchaknow).  We caught an awesome sunset as we were crossing the trestle - paused momentarily to let the passengers enjoy the sight.

Of course, it also made for a twelve hour day.  Let's see, time and a half at $0 an hour is how much?

I know I'm running about two hours late, but here's our Sunday Dinner menu:

Steak patties w/mashed taters and gravy, broccoli and cauliflower w/cheddar cheese sauce, corn.

Dessert:  homemade brownies w/ice cream (or ice cream w/homemade brownies, however you want to look at it)

You all enjoy your meal and afternoon, and take care!!

Four rides, actually, and I can deduct my mileage from my taxes, too...

Our various wine trains have very different personalities.  For instance, the Friday night train in Utica is very much a Friday-night-end-of-the-workweek crowd.  Loud and boisterous.

Time for some supper.

Good Monday morning to one and all.  I sure do hope that mudchicken, boss hen and Chris (copcarss) are all A-O.K. this morning:  just heard on our local news something about a tornado (and they weren't talking about the Dem. Nat'l. Convention) in the Denver area.

Our temps are beginning to cool off:  it's about 69 degrees here in the Louisville area, and our high today is to be in the 80s, with a slight possibility of rain showers.

Coffee, juice and hot water for tea are ready; and on the warmer bar:  the regular breakfast menu.

....Our day is starting {again}, with bright skies and 63 degrees.  No rain.  Communication from a niece traveling from my home area in Pennsylvania up  and thru Groove City {northwest Pa.}, yesterday, had to pull off the road on account of hard rain...What a difference.  Bone dry here still.  We too are to have lower temps today.  Haven't checked yet if I should open the windows...

Well howdy everybody. Its 81, which is supposed to be the high today, and the weather boffins guess is thunderstorms for the next 12 hours. This is a fine how do ya do!!! A really nice way to start off the week. Larry, when I get the NWofSC up and running again after 73 years, I will need a conductor for the mixed train. There are a few problems to be ironed out, tho. Several people have put buildings, including one nursing home on the roadbed, and there is the matter of getting them to cut I-95 and put in at least two overpasses in each lane. I don't expect much of a problem but expect it to take some time to get that done. Logistics, you know. Keep us in mind..... Yall have a great day

Looks like it's been mighty slow in here this morning.  Where is everyone?!?!

Mutt and I have been outside a couple of times this morning, and I'm beginning to wish I had put on long pants:  it's actually a little bit chilly out, with the breeze that is blowing!

Today's menu will be :  baked pork chops w/stuffing, your choice of the following vegetables:  corn, broccoli, peas, carrots; apple sauce w/cinnamon, garden salad, sliced tomatoes.

Desserts today:  chocolate cake, fresh baked apple pie and peach cobbler.  (And plenty of ice cream to go with any of the desserts.)

We have some good news from the Piedmont of North Carolina.---------

In short we finally got some rain  and the news guys say that we will have it for the next two days.

Now I can have a yard that is not brown again.
