Good Saturday morning, everyone.  Joe, thanks for getting everything going this morning!  Went to sleep around 10:30 last night, and the next thing I knew:  7:30 this morning.  Guess I needed the extra sleep.

We are due to get some of that stuff  you're getting sometime towards tomorrow morning.  They are definitely saying we'll have very cold temps for tomorrow, w/windchills right around 0.  Guess we'll see when we wake up tomorrow.

You all have a good day, doing whatever you have to do today, and please come back in this evening for Saturday Night Pizza Fest.

Tom, if she's like our dog, (Huskie/Shepherd mix) she uses her nose to dig out/under.

Ours stays in the house all the time, except for when she needs to go out, definitely

supervised.

Ray, you will enjoy having a companion like that, they really are about the same

as children. (always needing to be spoiled!!)

Ray, we have 2 girls and I love both of them terrifically. One is a Bijon mix and the other is a registered Maltese. The Bijon is a blockhead, tho. She has found a way out/under/over/thru the fence and is making use of it. We chased her for over an hour this morning before she finally gave up, and that was under duress...... As a result, I have put a pad down and she is banned from going out for a while. Hopefully I can find that hole soon. The Maltese is really good and comes back quickly and hardly ever follows the other outside the fence. They are like children and must be loved. Try it, you'll like it

I wish that I had a puppy that I could say "hush" to. All of my Colorado cousins have told me that I should get myself a dog, and I have been exploring such a possibility. I've been looking at the web site of our local humane society for small to medium sized dogs that have already been house broken. My only problem is that my next-door neighbor has a black lab that constantly barks and it just drives me up the wall. I know it's not the dog's fault. I figure that most of the time he is barking only because he wants some attention, but there have been times I've wanted to put him on a length of rope, take him on a walk to one of our parks on the bike trail and leave him there, tied to a tree. My sister, when I told her this, said that I have some anger issues that I should deal with first before I try getting myself a dog. And I know she's right.

I'll have some of CW's Cod and hushpuppies thanks!

Ray, hushpuppies are a corn meal and corn flour dough that is deep fried and they are great with butter.

Can someone tell me what "hushpuppies" are?? I've heard that term before, but I am not sure what that is.

I baked a batch of molasses/ sugar cookies this morning and took the whole batch to work with me at Wendy's. I got a lot of "Wow!, these are GOOD!!"  I've been told that I am working in the wrong place and should be working for a bakery. Chef [C=:-)]

By the way, this morning I had SERIOUS troubles with my Internet connection--I couldn't browse many web sites or browsing was extremely slow. Angry [:(!] Fortunately, things are much better now! Smile [:)]

Since very few have been in here lately, there are only two kinds of fish on our Friday Fish Fry menu:  Cod and Perch.  We also have the regular sides of fries, hushpuppies, corn on the cob and cole slaw.  Still plenty of brownies and chocolate cake for dessert.

Joe, how has all this wind and rain affected your area?  Is there a lot of wind and water damage around?

Mookie, and anyone else leaving for the weekend:  hope you have a safe, dry and warm weekend, and take care.

Joe; We saw a glance on the tube where Defiance is either going to freeze or flow down stream. Sure hope this don't affect you folks . The weather guesser was standing " knee deep " in water. Will you get your ice skates or life raft ready for use?   Being from Xenia, this is the kind of weather to expect(minus) tornados.  ~~ Stay warm & dry if possible.  Respectfully, Cannonball

Good Friday morning, folks!  Hope everyone made it through the night safe & sound.

Coffee, juices, hot chocolate, cider, tea are all ready, and on the counter this morning:  I've laid out the doughnuts, danish, bagles, bear claws, and on the warmer bar:  turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns, homemade buttermilk biscuits & sausage gravy.

Cannonball, I'll have that ready for you tomorrow night, along with the pizzas.

You all have a good morning, take care and I'll see you later.

Hey everyone:  supper is on the warmer bar.  Along with the beans and cornbread, there are some pizzas leftover from Saturday night.  Good thing I made extra, and froze them Saturday!  Figured they'd come in handy for later in the week.

Now, I need to go take brownies out of the oven:  seem to be in a baking mood today/this evening.

MLM - at 4AM this morning I was probably busy sawing logs, or contemplating when I'd have to get up and clear the driveway again.  Fortunately, work was delayed two hours, so I still got to sleep in a bit and get the driveway cleared before trekking down the road.

Still recovering from being two hours "off" and sleeping in a single bed that was only slightly softer than the carpet.  That, and the dry weather.  Dear ol' Mum is short three boxes of tissue now.

Time for lunch.

Okay, Bob, you get your wish for today's menu:  there is one big pot of northern beans, and one big pot of pinto beans on the stove, cooking, and there is plenty of ham in both pots.  Also have a pot of beef stew going.  And as a topper for the beans, there is home canned chunky green tomato catsup (some people call if chow-chow), or, if you're like me, I just pour some red tomato catsup over my beans.  And I've also have a big pot of beef stew in a third pot on the stove.  At 11:30 EST, there will be cornbread going into the oven, so everything will be ready and waitin on the ole warmer bar, just in time for lunch.  Might even fry up a big skillet of potatoes to go with the beans.

Mookie, good to see you back!!  (And I will try to remember all these meetings/seminars you are having to deal with!)

Morning all, Currently 50 in Carolina with an expected high of 67. Thankfully, we missed the storms last night, but we should not forget those who were hit by the tornadoes and other high winds. CW, I won't be in this morning, have to take the girls to the beauty shop early this morning. I guess McDonalds is the ultimate destination. Take care, and stay safe
