Dan, congrats on the recert!

Got more pepper steak over rice and mixed veggies on the warmer bar, for supper tonight.

Joe, got your lunch ready for work tonight, along with a slice of cherry pie for dessert.

Hope you all have a good evening, enjoy your supper, and stay warm!

Good Thursday morning, everyone!  Not sure about the current outdoor temp, but it is raining again!  "Supposed" to clear out sometime later today (we can only hope).  I have heard that somewhere in our area, it has rained now, for eight straight days.

Coffee, hot chocolate and hot water for tea are ready, and oj and oj/tangerine juice are also freshly made this morning.   Mookie, got my "Gopher" grab it tool, and got your coffee mug down for you.  I'm ready to pour, whenever you're ready for coffee.

On the warmer bar:  The thick buttermilk pancakes (Tom's request) sausage links and patties, scrambled eggs, buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, oatmeal (several different flavors, including peaches & cream), turkey bacon, and in the cooler, pineapple slices.

Going to take requests for lunch/dinner today, so let me know early what you'd like to have.

Coffee any time, please.  Thanx CW

Tree - nose runs, feet smell?

It was "Whee!" getting out the back door this morning.  But glad we have power and not a lot of snow to deal with.

Lunch - let's see.  Grilled cheeze with bacon sandwich?  Reuben?  Chix salad with grapes and English walnuts?  Ck noo soup? Tomato bisque?  Ham N Bean?

Ok - I have placed my order.  The rest of you are on your own.

Roads are dry, not a cloud in the sky last night (all those stars!), but it's cold.  Thirteen at this moment.

Gonna be a cold, windy last weekend of Polar Express.  Long johns are definitely part of the wardrobe this weekend.  At least we have snow this year.  Adds a lot to the general atmosphere of the event.

Ck noo soup sounds good for lunch (along with a couple PBJ on rye sandwiches to dunk).

Today's my Friday.  Probably ought to get some work done.

....About 40 degrees here as we write.  A bit wet, not raining much but must have put some down overnight.  All snow is gone.

I too note of snow coming to Pennsylvania and NY and on up thru New England.  By Saturday a system just now starting out in the southwest is forming, and we will reap some "benefits" from that.  Note the Low will pass south of us and that's not good.  The most snowfall occurs north of the Low system.  No figures posted on how much we'll get yet.  Expect several inches.  Guess, it' time to put my several waterproof sand bags in the back of the truck bed.  Winter tires are already on.  A truck with wide tires is not the best situation for winter snow.  One can picture narrow tired Model-T's sloshing thru thick mud decades ago and see what works better.

Posted below is the menu for today:

Soups:  Chicken Noodle, Tomato Bisque, and Ham & Bean

Sandwiches:  grilled cheese w/bacon, PB&J, tuna salad, turkey and roast beef

With the rain we're still getting, that menu sounds really, really good for today.

Got any Hot Apple Cider to go with that?

(Note to self: take wide berth around Mookie's and CW's soup pots in the kitchen today)

Looking at more snow tonight and tomorrow morning. Denver's new residents from CA and TX learning the hard way that 4WD is not an excuse for driving as usual. The vehicle carnage out there on the roads is on an upswing. Think Copcar and I will avoid the roads for a while until the insanity stops.

LC seems to be missing in action.

There's always Cider around here. (unfermented!)

Beano and Gas-Ex are available on the counter.

No need to worry, Mudchicken:  we won't be putting you in the soup pot!!  Not today, or any other day!  You're too nice a guy.  And, as Mutt said, there's always apple cider around, ready to be heated up for you and anyone else who wants some!

Early predictions on the snow(?) for Saturday here:  our area may receive 1 to 4 inches (so we'll probably get only a dusting to maybe about a half inch.)

Ours dropped 10 cents in 10 days.  We're ~$2.94/gallon for 87 octane and ~$2.24/gallon for E85.

In Denver, it dropped from $3.05 to $2.91 over the last 6 days....Tree(Larry) you could always visit Vail or Aspen and not feel left out. Those places tack on about an extra 45 cents/ gallon because they are off the pipeline and have to truck their fuel in from Denver or SLC. Grand Junction has a pair of fuel tank farms (Valero & Conoco) that are replenished by rail from Denver refineries. Kinda knocks off the alure of living up in the hills.

On my jaunt to CT over Thanksgiving, I managed to buy gas on the MassPike for $3.03.  This while everyone else was in the high $3.20's or .30's.  I figure they got caught by a contract provision that limited how much they could increase prices over time and were probably smarting.

Good Friday morning, everyone!  Here in Louisville this morning, we have a temp of 34 degrees at 6:22 a.m.  with no rain!  Cannonball, glad to see you made it in here last night!

Coffee is ready, along with fresh juices, hot chocolate, and hot water for tea.  On the breakfast bar this morning:  all kinds of doughnuts, danishes, muffins,  bagels and bear claws.

Mookie, used my "Gopher" and got your coffee mug down, and ready to pour your coffee, as soon as you get in.   I'll be over by the heater, in one of the rockers, with my chocolate covered, cream filled doughnut and a raspberry danish and my mug of coffee, watching the trains go by.

Thanx Joe!

Gas is whatever the Driver pays for it.  I am right side and gas tank on left.

Millie doing well in ice/snow.  She is front-wheel drive and ABS and just does super.  I haven't even had to rip off a door handle once this season.  The old Ford LTD was a sled.

1-3 snow this weekend - natch.  I saw a coal and freight trains briefly yesterday afternoon.  It was so nice!  Not sure if we will make it out this weekend.

I am packing for my long sojourn into the holidays.  After the 21st it will be the 2nd before I surface again.  Maybe.  Don't get comfy - I am liable to pop up who knows when or where.

So much time, so little mischief.
