I bet the most 'off road' that Suburban will ever see is if the owner misses his/her driveway! Probably put it in 4wd when it rains, too...
LOL!
Sleepy, lazy day...back tomorrow.
Dan
Good Monday morning to one and all! Pleasant here this morning, with a temp of about 45 degrees. We have a 40% chance of rain coming in by about 6 p.m. tonight, then turning much cooler for tomorrow. Our high for tomorrow is supposed to be around 45 degrees.
Coffee is ready, and fresh juices are made. Hot milk and hot water on for hot chocolate and hot tea.
On the warmer bar this morning: bacon, sausage patties and links, biscuits & milk gravy, oatmeal (regular, maple/brown sugar, cinnamon & spice, and oatmeal & raisin), beagels and bear claws, and some fresh pineapple chunks.
Sure hope that everyone had a great weekend, and hope that you all have a good/great day today. Heading to the CS, to turn on the train layouts, and watch out the window for the morning trains rolling by. Anyone want to join me?!?! You're more than welcome!!

Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
Thing is Joe, I like all the Widenose GEs...and some newer Widenose EMDs. Spartan cab, older engines are not high on my "That's Neat" scale.

Got a question for you folks: are there "quiet zones" for trains in your city? Here in Sacramento, CA, they instituted "quiet zones" for no train horn operation after the City of Sacramento did a number of upgrades on their railroad crossing signals through downtown (the electronic bells are really quite loud now).
.....There's issues about it here in Muncie, In. Nothing has been done yet that I know of.

thanks for the container for work.as far as quiet zones go i hope a family near oakwood likes trains.Their new house is right by a railroad crossing on the old nkp line.Dan everyone has their favorites.what i like is some old power with a bunch of mixed frieght cars.saw a detroit toledo shortline hopper over the weekend.going to stay rainy and cool for tommorow.

Good Tuesday morning to one and all. It's a bit blustery here in Metro Louisville this morning, and will be blustery all day. Temp isn't supposed to get over about 45 degrees today, with winds gusting quite a bit. Time for heavier jackets today.
There's plenty of hot coffee on, and hot water for tea, and we have hot chocolate available this morning. On the warmer bar is: turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy, apple-cinnamon oatmeal, bagels and bear claws.
Sure hope we get a chance to see Mookie come in today!! It was too quiet, without her here yesterday!! (Hope she was too busy with work, and not sick yesterday!)
PSA FOR TODAY: DON'T FORGET TO VOTE!! Remember, if you don't vote, don't gripe about who comes into or returns to office!!
Hot breakfast sounds great CW. Had flurries this morning and a very cold north wind. Currently it's 28 degrees.
I'll get Mook's coffee cup filled and ready with a beagle near it for her dancing and listening enjoyment.
good morning
well after work it was spitting snow outside.and we did cast our ballots too before coming home.hope the mook is stocked up mittens and boots.are people calling Nebraska wanting their money back??
Good morning everyone.
CW, have you considered doing a brunch instead of a normal breakfast? That way we can have a wider variety of food.
On a day like today...that's not a bad idea!
Better reheat that coffee for Mook. Thought she'd be in by now.

Probably think they can stay on the road better when there is snow & ice also and drive
about 100 miles an hour!!!!
Being Crazy, keeps you from going "INSANE" !! "The light at the end of the tunnel, has been turned off due to budget cuts" NOT AFRAID A Vet., and PROUD OF IT!!
mudchicken wrote:FRA is looking at revoking one established "Quiet Zone" in your state already....Wouldn't be the least surprised if more stupid zones are revoked as time goes by.
We have a couple of those "stupid Quiet Zones" here in the city also; one is supposed
to be up for reconsideration, and another one to be considered. Hope some people
have more sense than complaining about horns.
Hope the FRA does revoke all of them.
EDIT: We Just put out an A.P.B. for Mookie, she's been M.I.A. Too long!!

Wouldn't surprise me. I have a rule for people like that. Someone passes me in inclement weather and goes in the ditch: I don't tow them out. I'll help them otherwise (medical/phone call) regardless.

Sacto, that's what I usually do on the weekends (even when I post the menu early in the morning). I'm usually in and out, so hardly anyone sees me, and I keep warmer bar replenished, whether it's during the week or on the weekend. And sometimes, even the cook forgets to mention everything that's on the menu and warmer bar.
I have our TUESDAY MEXICAN FIESTA on the warmer bar: lots of tacos, quasadillas, burritos, enchaladas, tamales, etc., along with con quaso, salsa and tortilla chips.
Hope you all enjoy the Mexican Fiesta, and containers are available for anyone who wants to take some home for supper tonight. (Containers are under the front counter).
Today was my first day (what a cold one, too) back doing Tuesday Produce. At least now, we do it inside the gym, and no one is standing outside in the cold. All they had for us today was: cabbage, potatoes, sweet potatoes, and green bell peppers. We had 62 people show up today. Everyone was glad to see me back.

Certain minds think alike.

Ed, Best of luck with the "Torture Therapist"; although with the "local Medicinal" stuff
mentioned, you shouldn't have too much problem with pain.
Forget the Flu Shot, just get a shot of the JD and the germs won't know what to do!!
Joe, heard from Mookie also, I think she said "You'd better watch out, you'd better not
cry, you'd better not pout, I'm telling you why; Mookie is coming to town;
she's making a list and checking it twice..................."
She is Definitely "lurking"!
(Grabs a couple of burritos)
By the way, I just completed a lot of my Christmas shopping today. I ordered three Collin Street Bakery fruitcakes and five boxes of World's Finest Chocolate chocolate-covered almonds, all of which will be sent out during the first two weeks of December 2007.
(I wonder has anyone here tried the fruitcake from the Claxton Bakery in Georgia? I've heard it's actually pretty good....)

Haven't tried that Fruitcake yet, but are you one of us in the Minority that actually
likes Fruitcakes?!?!
Time to kick the tires and light the fires!
Coffee, and food are both ready! Breakfast buffet of eggs, bacon, sausages, waffles, pancakes, corned beef hash, hash browns, American Fries, and fruit. Beagles and other fine breads are also out and ready to devour.
Good Wednesday morning! Now that the elections are over, maybe things will settle down now, all across the country! I get so tired of all the negativity in the campaigns, that it 'turns me off' of the ones doing it. And it's from all the parties, not just one party. Getting off my .
Coffee is ready, fresh juices are made and in the fridge, and we've got hot chocolate and hot tea this morning. On the warmer bar, for Wednesday morning breakfast/brunch, you will find: turkey bacon, sausage links & patties, fried taters, scrambled eggs, freshly made and baked buttermilk biscuits, sausge gravy, beagels, bear claws, fresh fruit, muffins galore, cinnamon rolls, etc.

Dan, how in the heck did we miss each other in this kitchen?!?! It's not that big, and we should have been bumping into each other in here!!
Very sneaky, ma'am. Have you ever seen 1/8th of a ton quietly levitate around a kitchen? Happens at my house all the time!
