This seems to have begun when Murphy Siding confirmed what Norm had said about moderators being told to favor the railroaders when they engaged in disputes with non-railroaders

Just got back from vacation and was surprised to see this thread unlocked! As to the quote above, Murphy Siding confirmed nothing. Stop putting your words in my mouth. Speak for yourself. Thank you.

So, if Kalmbach as a company doesn’t gain anything from this conspiracy, then the moderators must have gotten something, right?

Not sure what that would be, seeing as how Murphy had already quit being a mod, and Jeff Wimberley quit over this, as did another mod, so I doubt they “won” anything other than heartburn and headaches….and the folks who were moderated, most of whom were railroaders, I don’t see where we won anything either.

So, again, if there is a conspiracy or a bias, who wins, and what do they win?

There appears to be some revisionist history in all the verbiage of exchanges.  1. The person who suggested a conspiracy was the former moderator who generally sides with a subset of the railroaders, not an outsider. 

I would hope that we can not only be civil in our posts but also tolerant of disagreements with each other and neither make personal attacks nor take criticism personally.

 I don't know about revisionist history, but I can add some clarity.  Every time the the discussion gets so far out there as to be unbelievable, is the time where I stop taking things so seriously.  I suggested the "conspiracy"  in jest, to point out just exactly how silly the whole thing sounds.  And stop calling me Shirley!

     I'm trying to be civil to every one right now (even those not in on the conspiracy).  I guess I still need to do some research on cabals, though.

I actually think that  complaint inclination behavior ( such as we are talking  about here)  is rooted in control-obsessive personality types. They actually believe it is their prerogative to decide what others are permitted to discuss.

It's a way to curtail points of view not in harmony with their own preferred outlook. THAT is why simply "not clicking on the thread that offends me" is not good enough for them. Not only do THEY not want to read opposed points of view, but they don't want others thinking free thoughts, either.

I guess I still need to do some research on cabals, though. 

My wife had cabal when we got married, I let it lapse. We now use just rabbit ears for broadcast, but most often get dvd's, our library lets us borrow up to 7 dvd's per person for a week. My wife still thinks it's free, even when she gets the property tax bill.

Anyway when you brought up caballah you said "about three (or so) individuals who have not been associated with this forum for as long as most of us have been", and since I haven't been active on this forum, or even this site, very much, I wondered if you were counting me in that cabal. Are you? And who are my coconspirators? Or is that kookooconspirators?

Like I always say: Never argue with a fool on an internet message board. Because they will only drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience. Which is why I tend to just let them ramble on, unengaged. Don't give them a platform from which to preach.

Is that a good thing or a bad thing? And why does your emoticon have sunglasses? It looks like a sun already, and makes me think there's another, brighter sun nearby. Call me old fashioned, but I think we did it better in the old days with just a colon and a parenthese. Although I can understand people might get a sore neck from leaning their head sideways, or a broken comupter from tilting the monitor sideways, to make it look more like a smiling face. Or a Canadian Pacific emblem that looks like Pac Man.

Remember, if someone tries to tell you "a book isn't electrons on a screen, it's paper and ink and binding and leather covers", just tell them "no it's not, it's triangles on clay tablets".
