Dunno! Try it and find out!
Evening all -
Just got back from the LHS and K-Mart. My order had come in by the time I got over there, unfortunately no photos though. I did grab a thing of Woodland Scenics Smooth It to level out the rough spots left over from what paint/dirt mix I could not remove. At K-Mart, I got 2 of the 'cheap' Catapiller 1:87 construction equipment. My advice on them... forget 'em. Go for the best ones at the LHS or from a hobby dealer.
Ok, time for dinner - Beer Battered Fish Sandwiches (I have to do the Good Friday thing so no meat).
Take care!

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010
I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017

Evening again all -
Just wanted to post 2 photos for your viewing enjoyment this evening...
This one is of the new Catapiller Grader .....
And this is of the cinstruction site... the Railroad Eingeering Firm is the Orange truck at the top and they brough out the Subcontractors to view the site they are going to do the work at....
So, there you have it.
Enjoy!
Evening Gang: Since PC is buying I'll have a New York strip about 1 1/2 inches thick, chard on the out side and pink and hot on the inside. Baked patato with chives, butter, bacon bits, and cheese. Also a salad with blue cheese dressing and a glass of Merlot or two.
Sue: I used to have a place to shoot here but with all the people moving in around us I've shut it down. When I want to shoot I go out to my sons place. I can get out to 300yds there. When Mary Anns mother moved up to live with us after her heart attack we looked for a week for the keys to her house so we could lock it. It haden't been locked up since the 50s.
I got the engine out of the 7 1/2 in gauge locomotive today. I had to take everything on the frame deck off to get it out. I guess I'll be doing a complete overhaul since the deck is pretty messed up with rust and gunk. I don't want to repaint the body so I'll try and touch it up.
The weather is getting cold here. They are saying there is a possibility of snow tomorrow. Hey this is April all ready.
No work on the HO today. It seems that since I retired there is never enough time in the day. Of course it would help if I got up at a decent hour. Come to think of it 9am is a decent hour.
Fergie: I guess I'll have to get my capote and toque out again. Red toque of course.
Lee: Have you been boarding any ships up on the lakes yet? I here that there are a bunch hove to at the Soo locks above and below.
Time for bed. I'll see you all tomorrow. Good Night All.
It's 6:30 and still 80 degrees. That makes up for the ice on the windshield earlier this week.
Mark, You should have called them to ask about the tracking #.
Paul, Things are getting denser here also. There is a little rise between us and the neighbor, so we shoot into the hillside. That neighbor just built a range also. The next hill over there are 200 homesites. I would not want those city folks to think that they are in town. So we should keep shooting.
Philip, Was that a Good Friday pizza?
I had better go check on the puppy. We have to have a birthday party for her next weekend.
Sue

Hi;
Good news - bad news day.
Good news - puter is fixed and I should be back on line tomorrow pm so look out...
Bad news - Gloria is back in the hospital today, apparently a blood test shows that she had a heart attack 2 or 3 days ago. She just can't get a break...
Hope you're all well.
Happy MRRing

Evening, Chloe - Tempting as PC's pizza is, I'll just have a cup of hot cocoa tonight. A short visit, and then I need to get back home and warm up my toes in bed. - looks like I'll be buying the nightcaps and desserts (and maybe breakfast, too)!
Hey, Colby - nice videos! Are they of your setup? Liked the way you were able to pan in the one view, and follow the passenger car without much blurring.
JP, on the scenery, maybe you just need to do that in smaller layers and build it up as needed. Looks like you have a full crew working on the site!
Sue, Chuck & Kathy, and Mark, enjoy that warm weather some - and then please send some of it along to the rest of us chilling out over here to the east of you! [brrrrr....!!!]
Paul, you keep getting busier and busier... What happened to your retirement? At least you got some MRR'ing in, even if it was with the 7.5" engine.
PC, that is one huge pizza - I'd already had fried fish for dinner, and I'm afraid about one slice of that would've filled me up if I had one, anyway! Have that guy on hand for our next party in here - that and some beverages and we'll be set for the evening!
Jeff, I think Dick may be right - you may even have to watch your plants, if our cold front gets too close to you! And DerJohn, Fergie and Luc, be careful if the backside of that storm Dick mentioned gets by you. Your weather usually is pretty cold, anyway, so you might end up with the white stuff. Actually, from the weather news I saw over lunch, I'd bet JP might be getting a bit of the sNoah - what about it, JP? Getting some powder?
'Bout time for me to wind it down - I'm going to pre-sort my laundry tonight so it'll be ready to go in the morning and get it done. I have an order in at the LHS to pick up tomorrow (some vehicles and other stuff).
Everyone stay warm tonight (except for our Northwest Coast cousins, who will need to be running their air conditioners, maybe).
Blessings,
Jim in Cape Girardeau
Last call for coffee on the East coast!!! Just got back from Good Friday church services, man it is COLD outside...28F right now. The weather forecast for Easter morning sunrise service is 24F!!! On Christmas morning it was 32F......what's with this????
HOOPLE: If you want to know why you have 80F and we have reverted back to Winter ( even in the deep South ), just go to WWW.Weather.com , and get the North America satellite maps, and water vapor maps, to see just where all the cold air is coming from..visually!!. This is an extraordinary situation for April. But with Global Warming a reality, we can now expect all sorts of climatic abberations.
DER JOHN: You are a master of scratch building from any usable materials...great job John!!
LUC: Good to see you back on line, we prayed for Gloria tonight at services, she is in good hands buddy!!!
CAPE JIM: It must be really tough on you guys to have this cold weather in April. At least here in New England, we have had Blizzards in April, and snow as late as May 10th when 7" fell back in 1977, so even though we don't appreciate late Spring, we are used to Winter late visits.

22 outside, that's gonna hurt the apple blossoms, don't know what the weathers doing today, didn't see it last night. weather gueser be probaly get it wrong anyway, did yesterday [forecast 40 and lots of sun, had 36, clouds n snow flurries].
Had a good trip to LeveL Pebble was ok, and Dick, we was in Mothers bus and it'll haul 30 bag, no problem, but we only got 10, hoping them and what we had on hand gets us through this spell.
Went by the Palistine yard and got a few pics there to post. Here's a couple of some ethanol cars there for now.
Tried for some in Robinson, but it was just to cold n windy to stand outside much, did get a couple though.
JIM, it was a good thing to be nice to Mother, when we got back home and found a couple UPS boxes on the porch, one of an ultra-sonic jewerly cleaner, I'd been wanting, and she'd bought one. Time to clean some train parts now. Also while she was in Terre Haute, she picked up batteries, a new lense cover and a remote shutter release for me.
LUC, us and some freinds here still keeping ya'll in our prayers.
RT, 3" snow and I thought the 30's and a 20 mph NW wind was bad.
Think I'll go play for awhile, before starting chores. Won't be home much again today, gotta run out to Clarksville this afternoon. Hope ya'll has a good warm day

Good morning. Checking out for now. Starting our 5 + hour drive to Cincinnati. Wish we could ride a passenger train.
Best wishes, everybody.
Geesh...page 2?????????/ BUMP!
Afternoon all -
Just a quick stop in for now. I'm about to start on the Woodland Scenics 'The Scenery Kit' Learning kit. I'll take photos and post them as I go along for you all to enjoy!
TTFN!
Afternoon Gang: I'm early because it's snowing and cold. We woke up to snow on the trees and grass and it's been keeping on all day. The ground is too warm for it to accumulate so we don't have that problem. It was 27 this morning when I was feeding. It got up to 35 but I think that it has cooled off since.
The carburator on the engine from the locomotive was not too bad but the butterfly valve was locked up. It was going into the vat when I left. I'll have a bunch to do to the rest of the locomotive so I'm not in a rush to get the engine back.
I'm going to take a nap. Mary Ann beat me to it. I'll see you all later.

Yes the videos are of my layout (which is on my bedroom floor). it's a 7x7 it's shaped like and oval but not a true oval.
I have more on the way. also today I bought a work caboos with a small crane for $7.99 at the same hobby shop that I got my 0-4-0.
Colby
Good evening to all...finally got to burn the annual brush pile. Two weeks ago it was windy and dry and we had red alerts, so no outside burning. Then we got 17" of snow. Today it was windy but wet enough in the woodlands that we got the green light. So from 9:30 to 5 I was carting all the tree trimmings, and winterfall to add to the pile as it burned down. I wanted to use my Wheel Horse 1980 garden tractor with the dump cart, but do you think that tired old 11hp engine would start? I even had the charger on all night to re-energize the battery. I cleaned the plug, poured a little gas in the cyclinder, it barked a few times but no dice. So, I trudged up back with all the rakes and shovels and garden hoses etc. At the end of the day, after walking countless miles back and forth to gather the branches etc. to burn, I stopped by the shed to try the tractor...OF COURSE...it started first turn of the key!!. I had left the tractor out in the sun while charging all day, but I suspect that the fuel pump, a little diaphram thing, was dried out after the winter and need some "time in the sun".
RT: Isn't it great? April 7th and you are getting 3" of snow in coastal Virginia!!!!
MIKE: Well I guess the "bus" can handle the load OK. What did you have to pay for a bag of Pellets? My son inlaw had to pay $7 a bag here a few weeks ago...I call that price gouging, that is rediculous!!! Last April, I paid $4.25 a bag, and two weeks later my daughter had to pay $4.40 a bag when the next truck load arrived from New Hampshire. The photo shots of the ry came out very clear.....that looks like an active siding...is it CSX, or CI?
JEFF: How did the MRR work progress today?
JP: Let me know what you think of the WS tree kit...I had bought one at the show a while back, but have not attacked the kit yet.
CAPE JIM: You may get some record LOW TEMPS tonight. They will even have some snow as far south as the mountains of Georgia!!!
RYAN: I hope you can withstand the cold weather in April, it is very new for folks from NO to have this kind of cold in April. But your tough, I think you will make it Ok, just throw another blanket on tonight, or, as we do here up north, add another dog to the bed.LOL You will notice that FERGIE has a big furry dog, and JOHN has a dog also.
I think it is time to go relax a while, this bod is worn out tonight, I feel like PAUL did a couple of days ago after a full day on the range.
Later

I got part of the wiring for three of the spurs done.
Y'all never gonna believe this. IT IS SNOWING HERE!!
Here's a little B&W photo for you.
We ended up with about 4"
no snow all year and then when spring comes we get 4" lol
Not to much happening here to cold to do anything today so just ran around town for a while
Well all Happy Easter
hope you guys enjoy the up comming movies
Evening gang: We had a nice nap and now I feel like going back to bed. Our daughter in law (John's ) has been in the hospital the last 4 days. She had her tonsils out a couple of weeks ago and Tuesday had some stomach pains so John took her into the emergency room. They thought she might have appendacites but it's a stomach virus. Anyway shes going to come home tomorrow. It also turned out that her doctor is a model railroader. He's a smart guy, doing HO. Anyway she's OK.
No MRRing today so no news there. I guess I'll just head for bed.
Good Night All
Just thought I'd stop in for a quick hello and good night. I'll get photos taken care of tomorrow morning after the 1st part (frame) has dried. I did go and add a extra brace to the bottom side as the cardboard the instructions told me to use seemed a little flimsy.
Dick - I plan on using the 3 kits I have left (Scenery - trees and grass; Waterfall/Stream; and Rock Faces) on the table I started last week. I'll keep you informed as I go along and provide photos as well.
Well all - time for bed. Night! And since it's Easter somewhere in the world right now...
Happy Easter Everyone!

Jim, I think not only small layers, but also thinner in consistency instead of the think stuff I made up.
Not here in Syracuse or the east/southeast suburbs, but drive about 30 minutes north and northwest, and they are measuring it in feet, not inches!
Later!
