Mornin' all!

How about eggs over easy, hash browns, and some chicken fried steak? Thanks Chloe! Yeah, that goes on Colby's bill!

pcarrell wrote: It's two thirty foot rolls of 24 inch tall plastic. It'll offer a seamless, curvable backdrop on each level.
Here's a link to that plastic I'm using: http://www.diyhomecenter.com/products/building_supplies/flashing/duraflash/detail.aspx?iid=10021 . I ordered on line and in a few days it was on my doorstep.
Sue, Yeah, I know what it means to be held up by turnouts. I'm using Micro Engineering code 70 turnouts for the class 1 RR and Atlas code 55 for the shortline. The Micro Engineering turnouts can be a little difficult to come by sometimes. Yeah, I feel your pain.
Colby, I like snow! Always wanted to go to Alaska!
BTW, inch, good pics yesterday! We don't get any of those Amtrak trains around here, so that was kinda cool to see.
So, school work on deck for today after work. Got LOTS to do! I know, sounds fun, huh? If you'd like, you can share in the fun! I'll send you some of my work! All you have to do is ask and its all yours!
Mornin'!
Just a quick drop in!
Philip, those eggs look great! Chloe, I'll have what Philip is having, yum!
Hope everyone is well and safe and may the lord be with you all today!
I've been busy working on another article for a new online modeling website.

Coffee please.
I managed to push myself and got the tempera ( not tempura ) done last night. No work to be done on the layout today due to work and an evening at the rock gym. However, Thursday I will start adding some color to the rocks. Who knows, I might get it finished over the weekend.
Stay out of trouble.
Sue

HEARTLAND DIVISION, CB&Q RR
EVERYWHERE LOST; WE HUSTLE OUR CABOOSE FOR YOU
Good morning everyone, today should be the last day of cold weather this season here in central New England........it got down to the teens last night but now we have a warm up period coming for at least the next two weeks. That will take us to April, and with the stronger sun......well, you get the picture.
Looking at the layout benchwork last night, I decided that the hinge-up gate was not going to work to my liking. I have 2" of foam on top of 3/4" plywood, so that means I had to remove about 4" of foam at the hinge end to allow the gate to swing up past 90 degrees. I don't like it at all. So I am going to go with a hinge DOWN gate, which will allow me to keep the foam base base across the entire bridgeway. So today we convert the hinge UP to a hinge DOWN and replace some foam.
HEARTLAND: A new study just came out stating that coffeee is a good source of fiber, so you are saved. But don't ask me where the fiber is ........unless of course you eat the coffee grounds . LOL
DER JOHN: Those rocks look great, you have found the formula!!!! Now lock it up in a safe in the bank of Canada.
Time to get going......see you guys at lunch

Good (mid-)morning, Zoe. I see a lot of the crew has been in since yesterday. I'll have a Dr. Pepper and couple of those tacos, please.
Fergie, good to see you in again - and good to hear that the (first) construction project is pretty much done. It seems like drapery rods (and fastening them securely to the wall) are a problem for a lot of people I've heard from. You'd think they would know to put a good section of wood up there to sink the screws into when fastening them, but that's not always the case. If you can time it right, the sun room will be done for spring, and your new deck for the summer grilling. Hey, let us know when the barbeque will be, okay? Hope you get things done so your Dad can be all moved in soon.
Garry, welcome back. Hope things start getting better for you now that you're back home. On the fiber topic, I understand that whole wheat bread (or rolls, etc.) is also good in fiber.
Sue, you sound pretty busy there. I'd agree with the others that you do good work on your rocks. Is that because of lots of practice on earlier layout(s)? I'm sure it helps that you two are able to work together - gets things done sooner, I'm sure!
If I doze off in the booth today, I have cause. I'm on backup this week, and got (unexpectedly) called out at 4:15 this morning (and haven't been back to bed since). At least I get paid extra for that. Now, if I can stay awake at work until I get home and go to bed before Sue's usual bedtime, instead of my usual lately... Huh? Wha'? Hey, you stay away there, Hoople! Aaaagggh! Water balloons (and cold ones)! Thanks for the towels, Zoe.
Had a good time last night with some friends at Panera's. I had my dinner before most of them arrived, so I got to just visit and drink my soda (and then decaf coffee) the rest of the time we were there.
On the layout, I'm going to be putting Kadees in a D&RGW caboose (older Athearn one, with the plastic pin for the horn-hook couplers. Will need to see if I need to take the pin out and replace it with a screw instead. I'm going to see about just installing Kadees on all of my rolling stock that still has the horn-hook kind on them. I also was making a list of possible vehicles I want to see about ordering over the next few paychecks (as the $$ is available) for the layout. Anyone that you all know of, who makes Ford vehicles (besides Athearn who makes those F150 trucks now)?
Well, back to the work. I managed to stay awake through CPR training/refresher this morning, so have that done for another year. See everyone later!
Blessings,
Jim (Uh? oh yeah!) in Cape Girardeau
Jim, those taco's look good! I think I'll go mexican too, but I'll have the nacho's. Thanks Zoe! And can you make sure this goes on Colby's tab please? Thanks!
Chow time, think I'll have a greasy cheeseburger, fries, and a chocolate shake Zoe.
Got a nice day after all, had a few showers during the night, but we've had sun bout all day, temps at 73 with a light S. wind and a chance of rain moving back in later this evening. Tomorrow has best chance, with even a thunder storm or two thrown in.
Got some playtime in on the layout in, and made a little progress. Also got the photos from Metcalf loaded onto rail images, I post some of them laters. Still got the ones from Villa grove to do. Even had time for some chores inside and out.
GARRY, glad you made it back ok, wish your trip had been better though.
PC, ,, I thought Amtrak was still running trains on the Cincinnati to Chicago run through Indy.
Need to get back ta some chores if I want anymore playtime.

Maybe so, but they don't come through the northeast side of town. They do have the Amtrak yards in Beech Grove on the southeast side.

I guess its just about the same up north...Thank You for the mud and now to business......
DUKE:
To answer your question about swimming in the ocean here FORGET IT you need a wet suit and the staminia to survive 55 degree water and most times less all year round. Yes we do have some surfers here but only with real wet suits the kind with two layers. The reason thet the weather here is usually mild is because of this the water temp.
DEAR JOHN:
I really agree with your post as does the rest. I once had a run in with the Can. Army and they saved my a**, by pulling me out of a very big mess....
JEFF:
Both Kathy and I hope and pray that your shoes do a lot of good, Kathy can't wear them because she loses ang gains so much water weight all the time that is also one of the reasons that they won't operate on her knees......
JIM in OZ:
Good show!!!!!! know just remember that us " OLD F***s don't walk very fast LOL LOL LOL
SUE:
Thank you for the name of the plant. We are enjoying the pictures of your w**k on the modelRR. Keep up the good w**k. We are still in the process of working on theRRbuilding, Kathy can't get her chair over the mud and the gravel is comming on the 27th so maybe she will be able to finally get in again.
ALL:
I didn't take notes again but I've been reading and can't remember. One of us has had problems with depression and I know what that is like because............ have seen FERGIE back in and hope that the building is going along better and also pray that "dad" will like what has been accomplished.
We welcome all the newcomers to this all inspiring place and wish them to have a good time.
We also say high to all the returning model railroads who have been hiatus.
With love and prayers to all this is chuck signing off. CHUCH and KATHY

Yes, I almost took up kite flying but the rod was too long to fit out the window and I think Dad would none too happy...
Oh well more varnish today, oh joy oh bliss!
Anyway I will go forward. Dad should be in the new digs by tomorrow night so things are getting to an end in a way I guess, sorta... Oh all the loose ends

Good evening everyone, ham, sweet taters and beets for supper, followed by gingerbread cupcakes for desert.
CHUCK: Good to hear from you and Kathy again, soon the weather will be warmer, then everyone will be worrying about forest fires.
FERGIE: My least favorite job....hanging up curtain rods and traverse rods, especially looooong ones.
MIKE: I was just reading Trains Magazine, and they had a picture one one long Ethanol train in Illinois....get your camera ready, they coming in from Iowa!!
Here is a test for you guys: Ethanol is NOT shipped in it's pure state ( 100% Ethanol ), it is cut with something else so that the Ethanol is not stolen to make booze. ( now who in the midwest with do that? ) It has between 2% and 5% of something added that makes it unsafe to use for booze. What is that added chemical? The right answer gets a free dinner at the Diner according to Zoe.
Later,
Evening Gang: Dish network can't get me an internet connection. So I'll check with Verison since we have there cell phones.
I've been having proplems with the phone line going out. When I disconnect the computer it's OK. My friend the computer geru thinks that my modem may be going out. Oh well they're cheap.
Nothing new on the MRR front. Unless you count mowing the grass and weeds so I can get it fixed up.
Well I have to help Mary Ann get the cows out of the pasture.
Good Night All
Howdy y'all.
Let's see...Depression has sprung up on the board in here...Weird...Since I'm either really stressed or depressed right now. I've been waking up around 3:00am the past few nights, and after doing some online research, have concluded that it's because my liver is suffering from some stress or my body's depression...Either is probable with what's been going on with my girl's family life...She's out of the house now 'cause she's 18, and her parents weren't happy, so she isn't in the state at the moment, and won't be back until Monday...
And the Senior Dinner Cruise was this weekend too...
Well, thought I'd drop in for a quick root beer float. I'll be around.
Catch y'all later.

Evening, I'll have a barley pop Cleo,
Did some outside chores this afternoon or tried to, the wind picked up and blowed leaves around bout as fast as I could rake them up. Not much else going on, did a little reseach on the rail lines I got picks of this past weekend, even learned a few things and found out some more bout the lines here close to home. I'm finding out there's alot of railroad history within 50 mile or so of me. Mother says I need to organize that stuff way before it all gets lost. I guess I really need to, some of the info I found on the Vandalia line out back, I've lost already, maybe one of these days it'll get done.
PC, did try and do some checking on Amtrak up your way and there's still trains a running through there. You may have to slip over an check it out some time. I'm wanting to get some pics of the city of New Orleans, but have got a good time on it through Effingham or Mattoon for the 40 mile drive.
Most likely won't be round tomorrow, rain forecast and I gots kids, and KC's just more help than I need on here. Best get ready fur bed, hope ya'll has a good one

Good Morning All,
Just a regular to go please this morning. 37F already and cloudy. The rain may hold off for today which would be good. Best guess right now is rain Fri, Sat, Sun with a break on Mon which suits me fine. I dislike driving in the rain and I need to go as far as Georgia.
Scott - sorry it sounds like your cruise got messed up but hang in there - hope things work out for both your girlfriend and you.

Good Morning, Zoe - some coffee in a go cup please. Just on a quick run through for now.
Hey, Scott - if your computer hadn't double posted, you might've missed the TOP. Sorry to hear about your girlfriend being out of the state currently (and you missing the senior dinner cruise). Hope things will start to turn around better for her (and you).
Chuck & Kathy, hope you get dry enough weather for them to get the gravel in to you. I hadn't realized how cool the water temp was up there. Bbbrrrr!
Fergie, good to hear that (Good Lord willing and the varnish dries...) your Dad will be able to move into his new 'digs' tonight. I'll second the comments about hoping he likes all that you (and the construction crew) have done. He probably will appreciate it even more once it warms up enough for gardening to start outside.
Inch, I forgot - how old are the young'uns getting to be now? Hope your day tomorrow doesn't get too hectic, even so.
Paul, don't read all of Chuck & Kathy's post - I think he slipped once and used one of those nasty W words by mistake. You're right on the modems, you should be able to get one fairly inexpensively. Too bad Dish can't get you set up with Internet service.
Well, got to get ready for that W thing. See you all later!
Jim in Cape Girardeau
Mornin' All!
Well, spring is finally here I think!
Safe to say that getting enough rain is not going to be a problem for the next few days! At least the temps are up though.
Man, I'll tell you what......I got nothing done on my schoolwork last night. I'm coming down with a nasty little cold and I just felt awful. Now I'm behind the gun so I've got to get crackin! Busy, busy, busy, thats me!
