I hate to down the mood, but I'm really upset right now...
I haven't even had my car for a full year...And I've been hit...
I was coming into the school parking lot, and this girl pulls into a parking spot. As I approach, she begins to back up, but then stops. I think: Oh, she's correcting herself, and is waiting for me to pass her so that she can get straight. I go around her, look out my side windows...And there's her truck...-Insert crashing noise here-...She had to of floored it backwards to cause this kind of damage to my car and make me slide like I did. Nothing but a scratch and a slight dent (she doesn't even know if that was from me) to her (father's) truck...But here's mine...
I should be getting her insurance info tomorrow; but now she is claiming that I tried to speed up and squeeze behind her as she was backing up; however, she didn't see me so she didn't know I was behind her...Doesn't make sense to me...She wouldn't be able to claim both...
I have an estimate for $2200 to fix the damage...Car value of $1000; car would be declared totalled if I took responsibility. I had the right-of-way by the Boulevard Law; it wasn't my fault. My car will not be totaled, I don't want that on my title.
I'm going to try to get the video tape from the school...A vice-principal knows what is going on, but wasn't present.
Pictures here:http://s74.photobucket.com/albums/i264/TrainFreak409/Grand%20Marquis%20LS/Collision/
I love that car...I hate to see it in this condition...
I'll have a cold root beer float...I'll be over in the corner booth...
And it looks like I'm buying. First time in the new pub. Since I should not paying for the damage to my car...I can handle it.
DRINKS ON ME Y'ALL! HAVE AT 'EM.

Lynda: The hash brown geography has this Canadian hungry but confused. Could you please explain the difference between the S. & N. style in Hashbrowns. Thanks. BTW, I’m with Fergie on the oatmeal thing, but it tastes better if you call it porridge. Better still if you put a little butter on it.
Fargo: How did the driving test go for your girl friend?
soumodler: Yes, I get the surface tension thing about alcohol (or wet water come to that). It’s just that I thought the straight alcohol would cause grief to the white glue, curdle it or something.
Lee:
I use Elmer's wood glue for everything including bonding of foam sheets for mountains and hills.
PC: Thanks for the heads up on the after tac of White Rain. I’ve been thinking of using something similar for tree production. Now I’ll stick (pun intended??) to the white glue or matte medium route. Messier, but it dries hard.
Scott: That is real sad about the car. You surely can’t total a car like that for that kind of damage.
Best get back to the layout while the muse is still on me!

You should see my truck. Deer tried to tango but lost. Dark now but I'll post pics in the morning.
Evening Gang; I'm sick with what maybe a bit of food poisining. I ate a couple of corney dogs and some potato chips for lunc and started feeling sick about 2pm. I got home and threw up and went to bed. about 3 hrs later I did it again. Right now I'm starting to feel lousey again but not as bad. It's back to bed for me. I'll check in tomorrow.
Scott: bummer on your. used parts may be the way to go.
Soumodaler; Is there going to be venisinon on the menue tomorrow?
Good Night All
Last call for coffee here in the east........another warm night here, 30F under the full "Wolf" moon.
SCOTTY: That is a real bummer. As Jeff said, check out used parts. The only ptoblem that I would be worried about is the frame. If the frame is whacked out of alignment, it may not be worth the cost to straighten it, so check that out first before you consider spending any money. And, as you stated, you were in the travel lane, she was backing out of a parking spot, so no matter how she tries to justify her bad judgement, it won't fly with the insurance company.
PAUL: That is really a bad feeling. Warmer climates have to worry about food spoilage more than cold climates, I would be very wary of eating at that place again. Hope you feeling better tomorrow.
Time to hit the sack, see you guys tomorrow,
OUCH!!!!! Scott- hope you get'er fixed!

Scott man, that sucks! I guess you could take one positive out of it, it could have been alot worse, bloody female drivers...

Mornin, coffee Zoe please, starting to smell more like the old place now
Suppose to have a nice day here, sunny, high round 50. Chance of rain starting tomorrow for 3 or 4 days.
SCOTT,,, bummer bout the car, but it's repairable, deck lid lines look good. Only bout 6-8 hours to pull that dent out, an easy one really. I use to do them like that, not hard. You should be able to find the tail light at a salvage yard cheap enough.
LEE,,,, thanks for the link on miltary discounts. I was looking though it and found a place for model planes. Found one like I was a crew chief on [EC-135, Looking Glass], evan has the right tail #8051,
Don't think the engines are right and I can't tell if this has the TWA pod on not, but it's the best one I've seen. Better be for almost $200. Spent alot of hours with her 30+ years ago.
PAUL,,,hope your feelin better, think your the second or third one I've heard of this week for food poisining.
Best get ta chores, I've got 3 or 4 kids today, fun.

Good morning from Omaha. Toast and coffee only this morning. In two hours, I'll be stuck in an all-day meeting. As such, I may not be on tonight because I will have long since gnawed away my fingers and hands.

That was a long time ago, although you might have an idea there. Here it is:
Took out the mirror too, then got a neck massage from the extended cab and bed.
I won't even start on what else is wrong with this thing.
Good morning all!
Good morning, and Chloe, a cup of café latte please!
Well, well, well, look what I done did!
Breakfast and lunch is on me today, and in the new digs too! Hey, PC, what we cooking today?
Thanks guys for the White Rain technique and pointers.

Sounds like a plan!
How about a Berkshire like this one, steam locomotive No 759 of the Nickel Plate Road passes East Stroudsburg, Pa. on the Erie Lackawanna tracks back on its last rail fan trip of Aug. 15, 1971. Can I ride up front?
Scott, sorry about the accident! Hopefully her insurance will cover the cost of repairs. Does it still run okay?
Lynda, Omaha huh! I been there once, way back in 1986, and remember them calling it Oma-ha-ha! Are there still lots of insurance companies out there?
Cheers,

Just be aware that it stays a little tacky for some time afterwards, so it can attract dust.

I saw that somewhere else a couple of years ago. It was based on the technology then available. Nobody back then had ANY idea that transistors (about 4 inches high then) could be made so small that 75,000,000 of them could be put on one microprocessor measuring 1 1/2" by 1 1/2".
I'll have the pancakes this morning.
Now for the weather.

Scott, i feel for you.Good luck with the Insur. co don't let them give you any crap, that is their thing, and their damn good at it. They will try to plan
Der, that was my daughter not girl friend sorry, i'm to old for girl friends anymore? she passed with flying colors. Thank you for asking.
Off the rest of the week, start back in on sat. plan on spending the rest of the day in the basement. Putting in an inbankment behind my papermill, i'm using plastertape its a little pricey but its just so easy to use. Its also clean and you have so much more control with its handling.
I also got a MRC pro.adv.Dcc I know it may not be the best, but for what i want to do, it'll work fine. I have about 15 BWL, P2K, & Psc withsound and they run great on it. I have 3 cabs which is all i need, now i just have to get the jack plates so i can move around. I ordered 4 jack plates and a ex. thottle from Train World last week they said everything was in stock and I should have it this week, while last nite UPS pulls up and i cooly fly out the door to meet him.
I thought the package was alittle on the light side, open it 1 thottle 0 jack platesthe things i needed the most, oh well. Well off to the basement.
Good morning folks, and a bright sunny one it is here on Nova Scotia’s Eastern Shore. A skiffle of snow as I returned from my walk last night has made things look more wintry. ..but it's all gone now, except for the shaddows.
PC: Those cherries look very tempting. Can I have some butter on my pancakes too, and a medium JR Regular please Zoe? ( Thanks Ryan!)
That Rand forecast is a hoot. Reminds me of first series StarTrek!
soumodler: Good thing the deer didn’t hit further forward, no people were hurt, and the paint wasn’t broken. Looks like a panel beating may fix it. Sick feeling though, isn’t it?
Paul: Kris says she commiserates, she’s been trying to shake a bout of “something she ate” for some days now.
Fargo: That plaster tape sounds like interesting stuff. I'm using foam for my scenery base, and since I'm cheap, mostly sawdust and white glue for the ground cover. This gives an instant texture, is very forgiving in it's drying time (read really long, which is a pain if you are in a hurry), and rock castings can be mounted in it as is, or glued tot he foam first. It's lightweight when dry. That may be of interest to modular modeler's, BTW.
Have to go, wood won’t wander from the shed by itself. Still, the pile I got into the porch lasted over the Christmas and New Years’.

Good morning everyone, actually, it's almost lunch time here in the Eastern time zone. Warmer here today, 45F (7C) at 11:28am, and headed into low 50's, near 60 tomorrow, YES this is New England, and YES it "is" January, but NO this not typical at all. I watched a show last night on Global Warming and this is really quite serious. When we have temps in 20's in the far north of Canada THIS time of the winter, you can understand why the Artic sea ice is melting so fast that we will soon have an open sea lane over the top of the world, the Northwest Passage will become a reality very soon.
RYAN: That is one sweet Berkshire locomotive, I love those engines.
DER JOHN: I was watching one of Pentrex's DVD's on the 50KV rail-line that was built in the 80's in BC to the mining areas.....that was one nice DVD!!! Very interesting and GREAT scene shots of the construction. Normally the electrified rails are 25KV, but BC had the power capacity at their coastal power plant, so they decided to go to 50KV, the 1st of it's kind in NA. They also showed the construction of the locomotives in Ontario and the testing. Talk about a wiring harness, WOW these babies are really something else.
PAUL: How are feeling today buddy? I think you should have Yogurt for lunch today, Low Fat type.
I hear the lunch bell, see you guys at the corner table.
It's coming up on lunchtime here in Louisiana too. At the moment I'm cooking up some beef stew and rice. After adding a little salt, some pepper, some crushed red pepper and Tony Chachere's seasoning, it'll be just about right. Tobasco sauce will add the final touch.
I'm getting ready to get some layout work done this weekend and get started on the scenery.

LOL I laugh EVERY time i see this one. Its not a computer, never was. The printer/keyboard is 'photoshopped' in, you can see the quality difference!
Additionally, the three control panels in back are the (from left to right) Steam Plant Control Panal (SPCP), the Reactor Plant Control Panel (RPCP) and the Electric Plant Control Panel (EPCP). These are the 3 major panels in the Maneuvering Area in side an American nuclear powered submarine (both fast attack and ballistic missile). Of this I am 100% sure because i just spent the last decade standing watch on/taking logs on these panels.
Sorry to dispel any humor surrounding this picture, but to me, its completely retarded and brings back lots of memories of 6+ month deployments watching 450V/60Hz for 6 hour blocks of time!

That helps answer a couple of questions. I was wondering what the wheels for. As for the keyboard, it looks similar to one I saw on a UNIVAC computer. The oldest computer I've played around with was a Honeywell Norman, a huge 5 ton monster that had been converted from paper tape to open reel drives using 70mm tape like used on old bank security recorders.
