Good Evening Coffee Clubbers,
Well the day played out about as planned. Enjoyed the Packers game earlier, and I'm now watching (out of one corner of my eye) the Giants take on Dallas. Ah, yes, the return of NFL football.
Just enjoying some good, strong, hot coffee, accompanied by a piece of Fran's homemade banana cream pie. Yum.
Interesting video, Jeff, thanks for posting it.
Jerry: Good to hear from you way down south any work on the layout?
Paul B: HI to Ed, Fran, and Paco.
Okay, back to concentrating on watching the Giants.
Hasta mañana,
Ed
evening Gang: I spent the day out at Clark Gardens at the train show. Since we did not show the live steam stuff I helped out at the gardens "G" scale outdoor layout. I did alot of visiting with severalpeople including Mr. Clark. He's still thinking about puting in some 7 1/2 inch gauge track for us to use. I was also talking about an HO layout that he has been wanting. The area is not huge but is enough for a nice display layout. All in all a fun day but tirering.
Jeff: The video really let us see how the layout is. I got a good idea now how you have things arranged.
Rob: Those frontend loaders are handy. If you have a lot of brush to haul out a grapple is even more helpfull.
HI to Ed, Fran, and Paco.
Inch thanks for the pictures. They'er great as usual.
Well it's late and bed is calling.
Good Night All

You know, I had a good idea of what your layout probably looked like, but this really shows it off. Very nice Jeff.....both the layout and the video!
, Cafe Verona if you have it, in any old train mug. Please & thank you!
***Jeffrey, that had better be a photo of a real life, full size KCS loco and not one of your model pics. The video offers a nice layout overview and puts all those photos together nicely.
***nscaler, a new loco often helps during challenging times. Enjoy it!
Have a nice evening all. Rob
I am out of my depression!
i guess all i needed was a new loco!!!

Good Afternoon Coffee Clubbers,
A typically lazy Sunday for us down here in Paradise. But then again, why should Sunday be any different from any other day? Just finishing off what will probably be my last cup of coffee (from the mountains of Veracuz, of course) until after dinner. Waiting for the baseball game to start (will keep track of it on the computer) and trying to see what NFL game they'll televise down here.
You guys must have all taken yesterday off. I think we had a new low in total Coffee Shop posts for one day.
After commenting on the fact that I had seen Steve's layout, I thought I ought to post this photo of me and our son, Paco, operating trains on the layout during our first visit, about two and a half years ago. I should point out that he's a lot taller now, but unfortunately not really interested in trains. By the way, that's one great layout.
My monthly mail package arrived by "Burro Express" yesterday, so I now have the latest RMC, N Scale Railroading, Trains Magazine and Model Railroader (with Steve's article on signaling) to keep me occupied. Not that I was exactly caught up on back reading before.
Later,
Heard from my sister in WA. state, soin a Burlington Northern mug, please & thank you.
***Paul, a Bucyrus Erie or Marion would indeed be most enjoyable. BTW, have used the loader on our little JD a few times to push out of some mud holes over the years. They sure come in handy.
***inch, enjoyed the photos & links to your others.
Nothing worth reporting at the moment. Hope everyone has a great day.
Rob
Mornin, coffee and a sweet roll for me Janie
Cloudy, warm and damp here today, but at least the rains suppose to end today. It rained on last night's football game, but we got lucky and found a place we could park and watch it from the end zone in the car. Good game, the kids played hard, but we lost by 2 points in over time.
ROB,, I don't know how you'd model that grade, since it's spread over all most a mile. It's less than a 1% grade through there [I'm guessing], the zoom on the camera makes look greater than it is in person.
ED / STEVE,, glad to hear Teffy and his wife are doing ok and the next time ya talk to him, tell'em we're still thinking bout'em.
STEVE,, good luck with ya'll getting certified masters. I've heard it not an easy chore. As far as kids an sports, have fun. The kids games can be quit enjoyable at least it is with the grandkids here. Enjoy your layout pics too.
JEFF,,, the pics with new camera are great really and I really liked the night shots.
Here's the last of last Sunday's pics, we found a Bud coach, built around 1950, and retired in 2000 from Sunset Limited, believe it ran mostly round Florida. It's being restored by the EFRR, there in Effingham.
Here are some of the outside details from it.

It's own by the same guy that owns that short line. I was told he has 3 observation cars running round also.
I found ut a little more the baggage car I got pics of last year. It's own and being restored by another guy there in town and will make it's way to the Monticello rail museum some day. He also owns some other pieces there.

I've got a couple-3 more pics from this past Thur. to post.

Good morning ! from Indiana.

Near a cornfield in Indiana...
Evening Gang: Not much going on today. Basically I goofed off.
Rob: No Habla shovel. Of course if it was made by Bucyrus Erie or Marion that's different.
Right now we have Wild Hogs on the dvd so I'd better get going.
, strong and black. Very tired. Discovered my blood bpressure is way to high today. Probably has been all week. Sarcoidosis is back, too. Wiped out & fed up.
Put up a new TV mount in the Guest "Inlaws" bedroom this evening and ran the cable to the basement/workshop where I keep the main box. They can watch a DVD while I watch MMA fights tonight.
All for now. Rob

stong as possible, in a Union Pacific mug, please and thank you.
And on the topic of UP, I came ever so close to buying a N scale SD90/43MAC last night, one on the few diesels on my wish list. Glad I didn't, as I really can't justify the expense at the moment. Perhaps I should let go of a few more vintage locos first...but that's not an easy one for me, either. I LIKE my vintage stuff. Anyone want to give me a winning lottery ticket so I can have it all?
***Paul, I don't think you work hard enough. Hey, you missed a spot, now get out there and finish it with a shovel. (hope you were able to sleep in)
***Steve, hope you find some companionship. Saw my Dad do the same thing following mother's passing. They all had luhcn together, too. Now Dad is dating yet another, and he's in his 80's. BTW, nice layout pic. Especially like the look of the yard there.
How do all!
Busy day of doing nothing today, so I'd best get at it!
Hi Chloe! I'll have the special.
Make mine with the works! And a couple for Jeff too for the fine pics he's sharing!
I was experimenting with one of my cameras last night and came up with this shot:
Then I dialed the exposure time down a little and got this one:
Ed,
I remember you! I talked with Teffy last week and he's still doing well. Stephanie, his wife, is still making remarkable recovery from her stroke of a few years ago. His job keeps him busy as he works late mornings to late evenings many days.
We're having an operating session either next weekend or the weekend after. A bunch of us are going to start going after our Master Model Railroader certificates and Railroad Dispatcher is one that we can earn fairly easily using my layout. Of course earning the certificates for master builder cars or locomotives just won't be that easy!
It's Saturday morning and I'm on my first cup of coffee. I'm going over to my girlfriend's in a bit and pick up her and her grandson to go to his soccer game. This is a new one for me, as my late wife and I had no children.
Oh, if you did not know, I lost my wife a year ago. I've started seeing a widow in my Sunday School class. My wife and I knew her and her late husband socially and often had lunch together after church. It's really strange dating again at my age!\
Well, the first cup is gone and I think I'll close here and refill my coffee. Have a great weekend everyone!

Evening Gang: The road project is finished at least for the rental unit is concerned. john went out there a 3 am and worked it untill I got there to take over. We used all but .3 hours of the 40. Close enough. There are still things that need to be done but we can handle them with the equipment that we own.
Garry: Any help you can give on the 2-6-0 will be appreaciated. Knowing Terry he will do a great job on it.
Well I guess I'll hit the sack. Since the road job is done I can sleep in tomorrow. I'll try and act more like a retired guy.
Another beautiful day (if rather hot and humid) down here in Paradise. I was lazy as usual, although I did take time to try and reorganize the bookshelves to better accommodate all those MR magazines and books.
inch: good to hear the orange grove came through with almost minor damage. Guess that means plenty of fresh squished before long.
Ryan: thanks for the update on the grove, now we can be assured of another shipment of OJ to get us through the winter
BaylorMax / Steve - I perked up when I read "Beaumont", because I know some model railroaders down there. Then I got more intrigued when I read about your article in MR, as I'm thinking that one of the guys I know in Beaumont wrote an article on DCC for MR a couple of years ago. Then when I saw the photo of the layout, I said to myself, "That layout looks real familiar." And when I finally saw your name, I knew.
Sure enough, I (and my wife) have been to your house a couple of times (once you weren't there), and even have a photo of myself and my son running trains on the layout. While you may not remember me, you might recall that I was the guy from Mexico that Bob Stephens (Teffy), who used to be a regular on the original Coffee Shop thread (long running predecessor of this thread) brought over. So "Welcome" to the forum and the thread.
By the way, for those of the regulars here who remember Teffy, I spoke to him on the phone a couple of weeks ago. He's doing fine, still busy with his post-retirement job. Says he hasn't done any model railroading in almost a year. But he's starting to look at how much longer he's going to work and figures that after he gives it up he may have time to get involved again.
That's about it for today. Catch you guys tomorrow.
afternoon, anyone one live near Minnisota? http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/070907/aqf107.html?.v=3
Breakfast for dinner anyone?
