Morning Gang: I'm dog sitting this morning while Mary Ann is doing the laundry.
Rob: Daisy is a Dachound. She's about 9 yrs old and had to have 2 tumors removed from her mameries. She also got spayed. We don't know if the tumors are cancerious. The vet sent them off to get them checked. I had a paint horse that I used for hunting cows. We would just head out and I'd let him have his head. When his ears perked up and he looked there were the cows. When city people started moving in they turned there dogs loose and they chased him into a fence and killed him. No I didn't shoot the dogs owner but they decieded to move shortly after.
My back is hurting me abit. Well more then a bit. I'm getting too old to spend the day on a tractor, I guess.
I'll see you all later. I've got some thngs to take care of on the puter.
Jerry ........... congrats on #1000!

Jeff: Its always nice to have the option of saying "Told ya so" to the big companies... I just wished they actually cared... would make these triumphs more worthwhile. ;)

Afternoon all! I can't stay long, I've got a few yards to mow today...
Garry: Man, I can't stop laughing about the C&C guard snakes! Rminds me of the one I had roaming around my back yard a while ago. (This in in the city, by the way!) We kept him until he got big enough to eat one of the frogs in my mom's fish pond. Needless to say, we got rid of it. However, we now have a mysterious box turtle that somehow wandered into the neighborhood and took up permanent residence. We see him every once in a while.
James: Nice car! I've always liked the Falcons, but I (as well as the rest of the family) have a Chevy. We don't take kindly to no Ford! (Just kidding, don't worry!)
That's my 2002 Camaro Z28. You wanna race sometime?
Jeff: Happy (late) birthday, man! Have somebody take you out and buy you something nice before I have to!

To everyone else, have a great day!

jeffrey-wimberly wrote: wickman wrote:hope you had a happy bithday JeffIt went rather well. I was able to get the yard mowed, got in some work on a couple of locos and had some watermelon with the family and some friends. I also got a new structure. The lumber yard and mill from Model Power.
, you going to be able to find space on your layout for that cool lumber yard?

Hi,
Just found out, happy birthday Jeff.
Wish you all the best.

Good Evening Coffee Clubbers
Still out here in eastern Newfoundland. It's been great weather the past couple of days. Down around 10ºC (50ºF) for highs, spitting rain and windy. Typical Nfld summer weather. No a/c required. In fact, my sister had to turn on her furnace for a while this morning as it was about 5º when we got up.
Tomorrow Fran, Junior, my brother and I head out to Gros Morne National Park, over on the west side of the island, for a few days. None of us has ever been there, and it's one of the more well known spots in the province. See:

Not much railfanning going on, although I have been able to find out some info about the local branch of the Newfoundland Railway that ran through town here. The rails were lifted back in the 30's, so info is scarce. I did score a copy of an old town plat that shows the track arrangement almost up to the junction. You can still see traces of the old right of way if you know where to look. Fortunately my brother, who really has no interest in trains, does know where the line ran, and can point it out.
Hold the fort. I should be back on line by the weekend.
Regards, eh.
Ed
Good news from Hoople saving for big boy!
Glad to hear about Ed's great northern adventure.
Brandon, nice car and I'm gald you enjoyed the my telling of "Charles and Camilla".
Happy Model Railroading!
Evening Gang: Nothing new since this morning. I tried to work on the filled area for Mary Ann's storage container. It's still way too soft. The tractor sank to the front hubs. I'm going to let it dry out some more and then try some congrete plant leavings. That's the stuff that they rinse out of the mixer trucks. It's got sand portland and gravel in it and makes good road base. Maybe it will help dry out the mess and stabilize it.
Nice going hoople on the saving for the Big Boy. That's the way to do it.
Well it was real humid to day. When I stepped outside this morning my shirt was instantly damp. That makes it very hard to work.
I am going to head for bed.
Good Night All
***Paul, hope the results on Daisy's tumors are good ones. I'm sure the Vet Bill was not pleasant either.
Although I am a dog lover (down to 7 of them), there is no excuse for anyone to allow their dogs to harass someone elses animals. Your horse sure isn't the first to meet an untimely death for entirely avoidable reasons. Sounded like a real neat horse to go riding with.
Sorry about your back and can relate to some of that trouble myself, among other health issues. Growing older isn't a pleasant experience, IMHO, and I'm not that old yet. Then again, compared to what poor Zeke is dealing with, I have no problems. Sure do feel for that guy.
***Sue, see my post just prior to yours regarding our paint horse, Twister. We are currently down to 10 Paints, all mares with one retired stud. Also have a number of minis, both horses and cows plus two wonderful little donkeys. Other critters as well, too many to mention. When I have time to update their website, I can post it for you. Lots of outdated photos on it presently. I have always had a way with animals, but sinse getting to know horses over the past ten years, I am forever hooked. Hard to imagine a life without them. Rob
Cox 47 wrote:Jeff...sounds like you had a good birthday do you have plans for the new building? Any of that Watermelon left?
Jerry: Sorry, a watermelon doesn't last long amongst a bunch of rednecks and indians. My plans for the new structure are to incorporate it into my industrial complex.
