I think it got zapped because you're supposed to post train related topics. The "Zeke" thread was about Zeke's health and his caring girlfriend posted that thread so people would not be suspicious of his absence. The "Zeke" thread was zapped because it had almost nothing to do with trains and I believe Bergie found it and got rid of it. This is my opinion and if anyone wants to correct it, go right ahead.

Sorry to barge in on the diner, but I happened to be on-line this afternoon while all this was going on.
I think the Zeke thing got zapped because someone posted to the main train.com forum that he was scamming everyone and that the whole medical thing was made up. There was a link to a very extensive forum sequence spanning the last 2 months on an RC forum from Canada with several folks expressing real doubt as to the voracity of the medical situation, plus some issues with an RC truck trade that went bad. The person that posted to the Trains forum was "trying to warn" everyone on trains.com. The main trains thread was then linked to the MRR Zeke thread. The trains thread got zapped very quickly and not too long after the zeke thread disappeared and then it seems zeke vanished as well. I personally don't know Zeke, or have ever communicated with him so have no way of knowing what is the truth in this situation. I doubt Bergie does either, but to keep the house tidy all was removed.

Nothin new going round here other than the ball games are done here, last of the play offs tonight, Herman's team took first. Our other grandson Ralph's team took 2'nd place in Paris. They were in the platoff with out nephews team. I think we had a good season over all, now we wait for little league football the end of Aug.
Talked to RT earlier, he moving to Tennessee, south of Knoxville [I think he said]. Also said he lost his job where he was, and his wife had family down in that area their moving to.
Enjoyed all the pics that's been posted the last few days. Hopefully I'll be able to get out n get some before long, just to much other stuff going on.
Guess I'll slip on out, getten close to between the sheet time and with no kids tomorrow, I've got plenty chores to catch up on. Hope ya'll has a good night

I see Bill T. was through a bit ago (might've been his vehicle's taillights I saw heading out as I pulled in). Nobody else through since late last night when Sue was in? Gee, we're keeping teacher's hours (speaking as a former teacher....), going to bed so early! Think our usual early risers are sleeping in for the summer.
A nice 61 F (16 C), clear and supposed to reach 88 F (31 C) today. Humidity is up though (97 percent currently), so I'm hoping some of that dries out this morning.
Hope you all dodge any bad weather today, as we head for the weekend!

Rain showers went through last night about 11:00. I was out checking on hay. The people that I get hay and my herefords got their hay under cover. The rain was only spotty and might have even missed them.
Larry should be home late this morning and wants to head to town to bowl. Fridays are $1.00 days.
I am still working on my loading chute for the layout so I will probably cut a few fence posts. My sketch took longer that I had thought.

Kinda cool this mornin', but I broke a sweat in the back shed sorting out all the camping gear. Going to Falls Lake this weekend for a short overnighter and taking the telescope and see if we can see some stars and planets away from the city lights.

I just posted on the Thomas and Friends recall thread. The news two days ago was that China executed the top food & drug guy. China said he was responsible for lead paint on Thomas toys as well as many other tainted exports.
My Burlington observation car project is a time consumer. I hope to do more later today.
Weather is nice now, and I have outside stuff to do. I need to get it done before the next big heat wave gets here. Weather forecasters are saying a huge nationwide heat wave is on its way.

Philip, We will all be excited for you to have action. I remember the new home photos when you were still dreaming. Half of the fun is the journey. We still have sections on our layout without track. Larry started on his bridge that will connect to my logging area. Trouble with that, I have to finish my scenery first because there will be limited access to that corner. Spring and Summer bring outside chores. Please take photos when you get things running.
Ryan, Thanks. That bridge is my baby. I dried the logs for several years from trees on the place. Do you know how hard it is to find two sticks that are similar is diameter and stay straight in the drying process. I wanted the rails to center on each log. I'll bet that I dried close to 50 to find a couple that were similar. It looks so rickety that I worried about dumping a loco at first, but no problems.
I try to use all the flowers, bushes that I can find outside. I use a preservative that is similar to Matte Medium. The hard part is to store them without breaking them. I rigged some clothesline under the 5 ft pennisula and hang them with clothespins upside down while they dry or until I get to them. I ran out this last year and started making aggro trees for variety.

I'm hoping to figure out how to show off some video of the occasion. I've made video and posted it before (on prototype stuff), but the quality is very low. I think I have a way to fix that though and this is the perfect excuse to test out my theories, ya know?

A bit of bitter/sweet but overall good news here. My father-in-law's rehab time following a stroke about 3 months ago is coming to a close in another month. Both he and mother-in-law will likely be moving out here with us on the ol' farm. How can this be good news you might ask? Well, with their minimal resources and some help from a sister-in-law, we can add on another wing to our new house. So, instead of the place under the porch I had planned on using for my train room (see pic below), I will end up with a larger room on the otherside of the house (under the new addition) and have concrete already poured. Below is a photo of the current new house, so just picture another structure on the other side that is 1 1/2 times the size of the exsisting porch/train room. Inlaw suit upstairs, Rob's train room below. (Old photo, I finished all that siding months ago.) There is hope for building a layout yet. Rob
Evening Gang: We got the container moved into it's final place. I pushed it sideways with the 25 horse tractor loader. When we had it in place I got the level to see how much leveling we'de have to do. Would you believe it was dead on both ways? Well believe it. Now we have to gather the shelving and Mary Ann can get it cleaned and painted before we install it.
Ryan: It's Mary Ann's container so I won't be storing anything in it. Of course some stuff in the basement will be going in it so I may end up with more space for the layout. Next month Mary Ann said I can get one for my 7 1/2 inch gauge equipment. That stuff won't know what happened since it's been out side under tarps for the last 35 years.
Well I'm going to head out and get somethings done.

We had a good ride out today left at 6am and arrived around 2pm no rain until we were unloading. Found out we have 42 cars in our race group alone so I have my workcut out for me if I'm to repeat last year. Also have the camcorder hooked up on the roll hoop again so maybe some video will result.
Came out route 80 to 28 south in Pa. but noticed a bunch more trackage (not used much though - not a single train all day). A couple of the steel trestles are impressive - exactly like the ME kits discussed yesterday. One in particular just south of i think Brookville is curved about 20 degrees over its' length. I may have to come back with a still camera to shoot some of these sights as I'm not sure how long this inactive track will stay intact.
The outskirts of Pittsburgh are interesting as well with all the rivers and bridges interspersed with major industries.
Time to duck out for some dinner, but I'll keep y'all updated. CUL, J.R.
Hello everyone.
Sad story here. At church meeting this evening a friend felt sick and died a very short time later in the hospital of a heart attack. His name was Wes. Some of you may recall I posted some of his wisdom to a couple of our friends here on the baord who lost loved ones. I told of his advice that we are all children of God, and when God chooses to take on of his children back, surviving families must accept that. His wisdom will be missed by amny people. Prayers to Wes's family this evening.
Please remember none of us knows when his or her number is up. Take care everybody.
