           JERRY:

....Looks like you are haveing the same problem that Kathy has, in and out of hosp. Don't know what it is but she has the problemof not being able to flush out the system [boule ]???? system so far no cancer but who knows as yet. Hope hip ?? gets better.

...... Had to get a new comp. to replace old one because we couldn't find the WORM that had started to grow in old one. Started to e-mail all my contacts with very " dirty langauge" so I killed it and replaced it with a second hand e-tower with 98-2 and now we are back to filling up all the c-d's that I had on theold one.  I know that I need a cup of mud with choc so I will have one to go, because it is time to start dinner and empty the washer and fill the dryer.

...........FAIR WINDS AND FOLLOWING SEAS.......Chuck and Kathy

Remember model railroad logging is a FUN business and we all need FUN........ACD

Evening, just coffee Cleo,

Got the last piece of main line glued down, but not much else done on the layout. Been busy with other things and grandkids [ school got out early].

Speaking of which, here's a pics of 14 of them from last summer. The tall girl in the middle is the oldest [Beth, 16] holding the youngest [KC, 7 months]

JIM CG. That pic was taken on the 4'th last summer. We had 7 grandkids and 2 daugthers and SIL's stay that weekend. I have baby set 9 of them at one time by myself.

DICK, bud you've had a time of it with the tiller. Hope those shims do the trick. Still haven't got mine, tilled to wet now, maybe Sun. or Mon.

Best get moving, got 2 kids spending night, grandma said so.

Got my challenger today, fine locomotive. Athearn #3985. I got some union pacific passenger cars to go with it but it looks better pulling some frieght down the mainline. I got out my little cameras andd put them on my layout and watched it go by. I looks giagantic on those cameras. the sound is ok but that key thing is cool.

Evening Gang: Not much going on with the railroad. I didn't get back to the weed spraying. I think that I'll have to take the push mower and set it high then use it to mow the track. I'll have to spray the grass and weeds. This rain has really caused the grass and weeds to shoot up. Besides the railroad the yard needs mowing again.

I'm so tired that I think I'll head for bed.

Good Night All

Good Morning All

Well here we are ready to sail again for places beyond the ontinental shelf and NE off Newfoundland. Might even get to see the odd occasional iceberg.

Both Musquodoboits (kitbashed 2-10-2s) got their 1st coat of paint last night and it looks very good! Now for the M.E.S.S. decals and brass numbers along with rewiring and they will be all set. I ordered some Bachmann wiring harnesses (male and Female) so they should be in when I get home.

Anyhow time to go for breakfast and start getting ready for departure

Later All

Fergie

Morning everybody - it's pretty crowded in here this morning! That was a surprise, after how deserted the Diner was yesterday afternoon when I peeked in the window and waved Hi to Zoe. Oh, Zoe, just a go cup for now, please, I have to go take care of laundry.

Jeff, watch that blood sugar. Don't want it to drop too much. Shock [:O] Glad you liked the email, after having a long, hard day, you probably needed a laugh.

Thanks for posting the pic of (some of) your grandkids, Inch! I would bet that if they have a family get-together, it'd better be a nice sunny day or at a large house to fit everyone in, huh? Wink [;)]

RT, did you and the CFO ever make it to PA? Or did I just dream that up?Confused [%-)]

Fergie, say Hi to the icebergs for us - guess you must be heading somewhat north or northeast direction. Or do the 'bergs get very far south, with the current along the east coast?

Dick, hope you get the right tiller shims/parts the first time. Otherwise, it might be a short growing season in your garden by the time you get it put in...

Hey, Zoe, let me get one of Bill T.'s chocolate donuts, if the crew hasn't got them all yet. Thanks!

Like I said, laundry awaits - and then need to pick up my MRR order. I'll see ya later this afternoon, probably.

Blessings,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

Hello Everbody

We just arrived in MI.  Stopped in Cincinnati on the way to see the GC's. Had severe storm driving thru Louisville around 5 pm Thursday. It continued as we went NE of Louisville.  There, we drove through heavy downpour with thunder, lightning and hail. It was like that most of the way to Cinc from L'ville. Trucks passed us as I drove slowly, the kind of trucks that say they are hiring "safe drivers". At times I could not see ahead of the car at all. At least it was Shelley's car getting hit by hail.

Inch.......... glad your GC's could visit the diner.  Must have been a big tab for the meal.  Did they have a lot of pie?  Tell them to come back some time.  Strawberry Rubbarb perhaps.  Manwhile are you filling them with a pot of bean soup?

Jerry, sorry about the plumbing problems. When I have that I can make it go away by eating only oatmeal until its okay.

Union pac -Chuck....... congrats on Challenger acquistion. Enjoy it.

Hey paul, dick, and others...........  too much lawn and garden work. Makes me look bad! Tilling, weed sarying, mowing..........  what's the deal?

Jeff..........  does ie from the diner hel bring up sugar level?  Seriously, though, take care of yourself.

Bye

Well, it was from a combination of things. The first being that I was on a fast from the day before, nessacary for the blood tests. Second was being on the run at the fire scene. I was having to get equipment, handing radio calls, moving hoses and running the pumps. That was a lot of work.

Good evening everyone.....an unexpected good day weatherwise today, it was supposed to be showery all day, but the sun came out at 10 and the rest of the day was fine until dark when more showers moved in. So I was able to get 50 evergreen trees planted ( 25 Canaan, and 25 Fraser fir ) Then it was off to the Salem Cross Inn, an original big old farm house in West Brookfield build in the early 1700's, to celebrate our 47th wedding anniversary, yup, same woman, 47 years ( she loves trains , what else can I say ).

FERGIE: Have a safe trip, looks like they will be measuring the O2 in the depths of the North Atlantic Conveyor. I see you made excellent progress on the 2-10-2's, I hope they handle the 18" curves Ok.

JEFF: Eat a candy bar !! Your glucose level will pop up fast....keeping it stabilized will be the difficult part.

I'm pooped, I think I'll turn in early tonight, that big meal at the Inn after a physical day has me tired, even my fingers keep hitting the wrong keys. See you guys tomorrow.

Dick If you do what you always did, you'll get what you always got!! Learn from the mistakes of others, trust me........you can't live long enough to make all the mistakes yourself, I tried !! Good evening Diners: Hope you are having a great weekend.

Jeff:

My blood sugar level was 59, not good. I have to get it up above 75. That won't be hard.
…Frustrating isn’t it, this blood sugar business. At least you were working to earn that low. Before dinner this evening I was 145.6 (using 18.2 as the conversion factor for our units to yours). So I was more circumspect than usual about what I ate, and went for my walk thinking that I would likely still be on the high side. Watched some TV, and began to feel “a bit off”. It didn’t go away, so I tested again (don’t like to over do that at $1 a pop) Lo and behold, 61.9! Where did that come from? Two thick slices of the lemon / cranberry loaf we got at the church bake sale this morning put that right. (For those keeping score at home, 105.6 would be good.)

Been busy with the “cover the blue” rock castings project. I’ll post pics when I am able to get the bits of plastic that are keeping the joints of my access hatches from being glued shut out of the way. The sawdust/glue ground cover mix has to be really dry before that can be done. That will make for a better picture. I’ve progressed about 2 feet beyond the Rear Range light, from the track level to the summit. Lots of small detail work fitting castings together. I’m using wall repair compound to fill spaces between castings and under sawn overhangs as it looks quite rock-like when it dries, can be carved a bit, and takes water based paints apparently just like plaster. Anyone else used that?

Mike, those are fine looking gks, and only about half the total eh?Bow [bow]

Dick: The rain was mostly last night, and as I said, I was able to get out for a walk this evening. Still, the forecast has no sun in it for us until maybe Tuesday/Wednesday.

Garry:

Jeff.......... does ie from the diner hel bring up sugar level? Seriously, though, take care of yourself.
…looks like something is taking the “p” out of your keyboard.Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg] I lost the use of “b” a while ago, but a swift vacuuming brought it back.

Fawlty Towers is coming on, so I’ll say Goodnight, and God Bless. Prayers for all in need of healing, comfort and peace.Angel [angel]

I loved watching Fawlty Towers when I had satellite. Other shows I liked are Keeping up appearances, The Office, Cracker, Changing Rooms, Bargain Hunt, Junkyard Wars, Robot Wars and Ground Force. I especially liked the Ground Force America series.

Evening Gang: Mary Ann and I have been putting together a house for some of her cats. We started with a chain link dog kennel and set it up partly under the over hang of the stable. I did a roof on the from the overhang to the edge of the kennel with 2x4 rafters and a tarp. We then made a ceiling with chicken wire. That took a good part of 2 days. Tomorrow I'm going to a gun show in Dallas to help out a friend of mine. He is battling cancer and has a table there to raise some cash and unload some of his stuff. Anyway he can't handle the setting up and packing up after the show himself so I'm going to give him a hand. The only thing is I have to get up early with the add of the (Shudder) dreaded ALARM CLOCK !!! I've only used it once since 2 Feb. That's retardment for you.

I did get over to my friends railroad track. The gang was over there working on the track and getting ready for the meet in June. I took the tractor and hauled off some tree limbs that had been blown out of the trees. We have to do some landscaping to fix the mess that a hired cat driver made. It may take Terry to rent a track loader so we can get things fixed up in a timely fashion. We could use our collection of small tractors but that would take a good bit of time. I'd like to get the track loader. Since I'm retarded I can do it during the week. Besides I like running those machines. More Power.

Well I'd better get a ahower and hit the sack.

Good Night All

Good evening.  I will have a coffee please, and maybe some of the cheesecake.

I have not had much time in the layout room this week, or even time to hang out here.  With the good weather, I am feeling a bit guilty doing anything inside.  I finally got my snow tires off today.

Maybe I will get some hardshell done in the morning.
