I would like to see some streamlined combines such as Southern Smoothside 726 and Southern Corrugated 727 made in HO scale. These were used on Southern and Norfolk Southern Steam Excursions.

An SP DAYLIGHT - corregated - with SP's deep/wide windows.

BETTER YET - a car kit one can put a Pullman (or Budd roof) on, add painted & finished sides tailored to various roads - (corregated) or (smooth sides) , following (sort of) the example set by Athearn with the Highliner F units.

ONE full-length car body could be used for an 2 section articulated, (with plug-in vestibules). Scoring the inside can provide break-away sections for door openings with plug-in ends.

A 2 section articulated car might even be work for the 4X8 owner on his 18"-22" curves. Would a newbie run a whole train of articulated cars? The SP did.

More Pikers and Oscars![:D]

Bring out head end cars and coaches and diners and domes on 4-axle trucks.[:p]

The Rivarossi/Walthers 60' Heavyweights were a step in the right direction.

I'll second a call for 72' Harriman baggage cars and, while I'm dreaming, what about an articulated SP diner? Thanks for asking.

N scale Santa Fe heavyweight coach-- 10 wide windows each side-- channel side sill. I think Walther's had an HO kit for these 30 some-odd years ago.

Similar to Don Gibson's post....

Some basic car kits that the manufacturers can add RR specific window arrangements. Could work with either heavyweights or steamline cars. Of course that would limit the interiors, but I that could probably be overcome too.

Other than that, I'd like to see th CB&Q blunt end dome observation cars for teh Denver Zephyr and Kansas City Zephyr.

How about a good generic theater car for business trains. UP, BNSF, NS, CSX, KCS have and many fallen flags had theater cars in their business car fleets. I know that there are so many little differences between the different cars on different railroads but I just want one that is good looking and reasonably close to C&NW's Fox River. Just somethings thats close and doesn't cost $400 dollars like a brass one does.

Train Station Products produces two versions of theater car ends and is going to be releasing the Burlington Northern Theater Passenger Car " Glacier View " for about 30 bucks (at least they say they are, just like the Hi Level lounge that never appeared[:(!]).

I would like to see someone make the Amtrak California Surfliner Cars. I really don't want to do it myself. I'm lazy!

N&W Powhatan Arrow boat tail observation car. The right color. Lighted, with interior the right colors. The right color. With stainless window moldings. The right color. RTR. For about $24.99. The right color.
Any other N&W Powhatan Arrow or Pocahontas cars the same way. AND the right color.
If, I repeat IF, they got everything else right, I might flex on the $24.99.
What could have happened.... did.

Wow, ancient history resurfacing! Cool.

My issue isn't just cars, but locos too. That's because my wishlist item is famous streamliners. In many cases, having the cars is somewhat pointless because the relevant locos are not available, done in brass only (rare and $$$). In many cases, Rivarossi used to make the relevant loco, but quality was ho-hum, convertibility to sound/DCC is not easy, and the only way to find them is pay through the nose on E-bay.

Example: Until recently done by Con-Cor, I'd have said the early unit Zephyrs. BLI has also taken care of the broadway limited motive power with their recent T-1

Ones I'd still be looking for (mostly by loco, relevant cars assumed to be part of the deal)

Milwaukee Road: Hiawatha with beavertail car and either variation (Class A or F7) of steam motive power.
Lehigh Valley: John Wilkes
New York Central: 20th C. Limited with Dreyfuss streamlined Hudson (also the "commodore vanderbilt"earlier streamlined steam loco)
UP M-10000
Aerotrain
PRR Streamlined K-4
PRR S-1
UP 7002 loco with "cities" or "49'er" cars
C&O L1
CB&Q Aeolus Hudson

...

It's been said already, but with the plethora of models, one of the Twin Cities or Olympian Hiawatha I think would be a fun one to do, and should be a decent seller- the original streamlined engines have a lot of fans beyond Milwaukee modelers- toss in a consist of accurate ribside cars and you've got a hot product.
