Wow, ancient history resurfacing! Cool.

My issue isn't just cars, but locos too. That's because my wishlist item is famous streamliners. In many cases, having the cars is somewhat pointless because the relevant locos are not available, done in brass only (rare and $$$). In many cases, Rivarossi used to make the relevant loco, but quality was ho-hum, convertibility to sound/DCC is not easy, and the only way to find them is pay through the nose on E-bay.

Example: Until recently done by Con-Cor, I'd have said the early unit Zephyrs. BLI has also taken care of the broadway limited motive power with their recent T-1

Ones I'd still be looking for (mostly by loco, relevant cars assumed to be part of the deal)

Milwaukee Road: Hiawatha with beavertail car and either variation (Class A or F7) of steam motive power.
Lehigh Valley: John Wilkes
New York Central: 20th C. Limited with Dreyfuss streamlined Hudson (also the "commodore vanderbilt"earlier streamlined steam loco)
UP M-10000
Aerotrain
PRR Streamlined K-4
PRR S-1
UP 7002 loco with "cities" or "49'er" cars
C&O L1
CB&Q Aeolus Hudson

...
