No?
Take another train ride again then.

I will see you all tomorrow.

Good morning, diners. No breakfast today in the diner -- I'm going to eat on the road.
I'm driving a friend to a hospital about 90 miles away, and will sit around for the day until he is dismissed. Not an exciting day, but a necessary one.
We have two more days of 100°+, and then we have a cool front come through with highs in the 90s! That's what the weather people call a cool front.
At 5429 feet, this is the highest point in my state. This is an impressive peak!
This UP station, no longer there, was in North Platte, Nebraska. It had over six million servicemen stop there at the canteen during WWII. It's too bad it got torn down in the 1970s.

Have a great day, everyone. I hope that after the service interruption, we hear from all the diners again.

Hey John -
I live in one of those big square states just to the left of you on the map. This image looks pretty much like our eastern border. The lowest point in my state is about elevation 4000 feet. I live at about 6000 feet. One of the great things about living in the high desert where it hardly ever rains is that you end up with crystal blue skies. Millions of stars at night. If you go in for that sort of thing.

Earlier this year there was flooding in the Adirondack Mountains. Blue Moutain Lake (altitude 1824 feet) and Long Lake (altitude 1906 feet) are a couple of places that suffered significant damage.
Places that rarely flood are more likely to suffer extreme land damage than places that flood more frequently. Those more frequent floods changed the landscape long ago.
Good to have the diner back up and running. Hope Dave is doing well; glad Dawn had a good day. Kevin, your house looks great. Good to have the Lion posting again.
Just returned last night from a quick two day business trip to Chicago. We left Dodge at 3:00 in the morning to make a 5:30 flight; got in last night at 11:00, it was 1:30 am when we got home this morning. I am tired. But a big two days at work; two board meetings.
My wife has finished painting the basement train room in my absence. It looks good.
Nothing to report on the train front.

The highest point in my state is only 350 feet. Supposedly Florida has the lowest High Point of any state.
I won these HO scale generators on eBay... then the seller refused to send them to me and cancelled the sale.
He said his terms plainly state that he does not ship outside the USA, and he does not consider Florida to be part of the United States.

Good afternoon
Dont matter how high you are, just as long as one can adjust their own elevation.

Terry's good people. A man of few words is always liked. Kinda miss that Good Ol' Soul, stopping by here once in a while
Hi Everyone,
Dropping in to say hello. Not much going on here. It is hot today - mid 90s with humidity. Funny, I grew up in Kansas which is warmer than Chicago, but I don't seem to handle the heat as well as I used to. I think airconditioning has something to do with it. My old neck of the woods has had up to 107F lately. That's hot by anyone's definition.
Our association is in the midst of replacing the roofs n the property. They just finished our building yesterday. Roof looks nice. speaking of roofs, Kevin, your roof looks very nice. I hope it gives you many years of enjoyment, if that's the right word. I also like the stone work on your house. Really looks better than plain stucco.

Did you know Bob Seger and Ted are friends and go deer hunting together in Michigan. Neither one of them have time for deer huggers, as they're mighty tasty on the table.

Outrageous. I would complain BITTERLY to Ebay and post the sellers name on every MR forum I could find.

Well, the truck is all packed up and ready. Taking my oldest back to college in the morning. So far she is doing better than last year. Fingers crossed. It's going to be a long day tomorrow, and I don't mean the amount of time it will take. Wish me luck!
