I model mid-50s SP in HO (Black Widow livery), but circumstances have prevailed such that I don't currently have a layout. Thank goodness I belong to a club with a huge one!
I grew up in Jackson, Michigan, a half-block from the main line (doubled) of the Michigan Central (NYC) between Detroit and Chicago. I saw and fondly remember STEAM, including the aroma and soft rain of cinders that accompanied freight drags picking up speed on their way out of town.
For some unknown reason I have an interest on MOW equipment and have entirely too much of it to complete, upgrade and weather. Same with my fleet of mostly Stewart/Kato F units. No particular interest in passenger ops.
Would prefer the simplicity (?) of DC but don't want to fuss with reversing loops and blocks. Besides, the club is DCC so I'm installing decoders (no sound, please) in all my engines.
Navy vet and former pastor with on-going interests also in classical music, birdwatching, aviation, and rugby (having played for Michigan State).
Grateful for the mutual helpfulness and comraderie within the hobby!
