Hi Bear,
Those are fantastic sunset pics!
Cheers!!
Dave
I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
Top of the page! Our local fruit is in season! Thank goodness for Coolwhip! Just had some nectarines for lunch. Sorry, no pictures.
Dig in.
Thanks for the nectarines, Dave We have a couple of peach trees that produce some great fruit as long as we get to them before the birds do.

Just a quick note -- busy days!
Kevin, I agree with Henry. That kind of stupidity on the part of an Ebay seller needs to be protested. Ebay needs to hear about it.
Dave, it's good to hear you are doing well.
I'll check in this weekend when things calm down around here.

Evening
Just when a guy thinks he's semi retired, along comes another semi, and talks him into another condo rehab.
Sometimes the tools just dont want to quit. Dont know how she talked me into this one, but the word spreads around the building.
This one was quite the crap hole, and a real treat. I'm thinking a 10 yarder should do it, to empty out the living room
The bathroom isn't gutted yet, but got some extra thick rubber gloves for that one

BRENT!!!
Where are you at my friend?

An Old School performance with Dave.
Too cool!
Don't worry, Winter is coming, when we all get back to our layouts and trains soon.
up831 Kevin, your roof looks very nice. I hope it gives you many years of enjoyment, if that's the right word. I also like the stone work on your house. Really looks better than plain stucco.
Thank you. The project is only a few months from completion now. I am working on the drywall in the master bedroom. Then the Stratton And Gillette gets its home.

Living the dream.
Attuvian1I strongly suspect that he is making a politcal statement, Kevin. Bummer that it is at your expense. Sorry that you are the current lightning rod.
Yeah, I am pretty sure that is the case. I mean, sure, go ahead and hate Florida, we deserve it. We are the worst State, except maybe for Mississippi, thank heaven for Mississippi.
But, refusing to complete an ebay sale is a very pointless form of protest.
gmpullmanNext time they will use screws in the draft gear and dispense with the glue.
I wonder if they need to borrow my #50 drill and 2-56 tap?
BigDaddyOutrageous. I would complain BITTERLY to Ebay and post the sellers name on every MR forum I could find.
Tried complaining to eBay, no response from them.
York1Kevin, I agree with Henry. That kind of stupidity on the part of an Ebay seller needs to be protested. Ebay needs to hear about it.
Ebay does not seem to care about sellers behavior as long as the money is refunded. About once every three months I will win an auction for a great price. The seller will refund my money and say they found the item damaged when they inspected it.
Then a few weeks later they list the item again. I have contacted eBay about this a few times, no responses.
Good morning, diners. Chloe, I'll have bacon, eggs, and coffee, please.
We're pretty excited here today. The temps will only reach 99° today! The first hints of winter are here.
I have been unable to do any layout work for a long while, and this coming week won't be any easier. I had ordered some electronic things for the new trolley line I'm adding. It will allow the trolley to go back and forth without me controlling it. The stuff has been sitting here for a while without any progress. Maybe after next week.
For sports fans like me, this is the sweet spot of the year. College football is starting, the NFL games are starting, major league baseball is still going strong, college volleyball is starting, etc. I love it. I'm not an NBA fan, so I don't miss them at all.
New Orleans just finished the Canal Street ferry station that crosses the Public Belt RR. The river front streetcars also go through here. One thing I don't like -- they've discontinued the car ferry service. It will be pedestrian only.
Have a great Friday, everyone.

I might catch flak for this, but living in GA, I wished that ebay could let me block buyers from the west coast. Nothing political, but there is a big difference in shipping costs from anything east of the Mississippi River to just south of Lake Erie and the rest of the US. I can handle the difference up to Maine and over to about Colorado, but when I sold stuff....if I listed an attractive shipping price of $8 or $9, inevitably a West Coast buyer would buy and pay the $9 shipping immediately and stick me for a $14 actual cost shipping bill.
Using the calculate shipping function is not attractive. Just saying, I wished I could have limited ebay buyers to a geographic region that kept shipping costs no greater than $9, but ebay doesn't offer that function. It just allows out of continental USA.
I can't speak for the seller. Looks like shipping costs of $4.50 for that small of an item from Kzoo to Flahridder would be within tolerances of actual shipping costs.

I generally try to avoid sellers in the Western states because of the higher shipping costs. Some if these price differences are significant.
If they have something I really want, I will chance it.

Getting things shipped to Canada has become ridiculous, and not just from the USA. I just paid 27 Euros to have two decoder harnesses shipped from The Netherlands! Nobody else had them in stock, anywhere.
P.S. We had better quit before this becomes another 'how expensive is the hobby' rant.
Judy said let's go to the other end of lake with our picnic basket.
I'm easy.
She doesn't seem to take a strait picture with her new phone. These Minneapolis girls don't carry a level in their purse you know But not too bad for a city lake, three minutes from our humble abode. They say we have 10,000 of them up here in Minnesota eh
I've only seen a fraction of them so far, but still working on it
Plenty of train stuff I've bought from e-Bay through the years, maybe I've been lucky.
I've never had a problem with any seller, and always gave them a good review.
Might have too much train stuff now. Don't know? Is there any such a thing?
Maybe one should think about becoming a seller up here
As Bob Segar says, "Sometimes ya just don't need it all"

I don't know the first thing about 'smart' phones but I'll bet you can get a level app for it.

Good morning everyone. Chloe, I would like an apple turnover and a cup of coffee please.
All the houses around me are occupied again. All seem like nice people, that is very lucky. For the life of me, I don't know how anyone is affording the rents on these places.
Good morning
Man, sure looks close to me, Northern Pacific made home for all the good German folks over there back in the day.
Sure like those Green Machines, Ed proudly displayed an hour down the road
Was that a Ford Fiesta, or a Chevy Chevette?
Definitely looks like my kind of place over there

Bittersweet, My two grandsons are playing their first college football game in Montana.
My Carter just caught up with his brother Anthony that's been in college for two years now. They play on the same team and Judy's Super Phone has the game streaming live! They are down seven and need your guys's support please.
The sad part is, Judy's sister and my brother-in-law just got home from grocery shopping up in Wisconsin, and they found their 16 year old cat Iko had died while they were gone.
Judy came in crying and was hugged hard. I'm certainly hoping the boys start winning their football game now, as it might make things feel a little better for her.
Bob Barker died at 99 today. Everybody loved Bob.
The Master of Bridge Piers and Abutments, and so much more excellence in craftsmanship on his model railroad.
A master of his craft, that helped me through the years here, with not only helping me on the Forum, but also Personal messaging me things to help me out.
Where are you at Dr. Wayne? You are missed here.
The local big-box pet store had a cat adoption event today. The GF volunteers there, cleaning cages, so she went to help out. They have been inundated with rescue kittens this summer. We already have two, plus a large dog, so we're kind of at our limit.
Sorry about Iko. That's a good life for a cat. A couple of years ago, we lost a nice cat named Emily to kidney failure. She was about that age. Our other cat, Snowflake, was visibly missing her and almost mourning, always looking and sniffing the places she slept. We decided she needed another cat, and the arrival of Whiskey has made everyone happier.
It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.
Just got home from our first game of the year; we lost at home to the #1 ranked junior college team in the Midwest, Iowa Western, 27-20. We played well, but turned the ball over 3 times.
Got home and found my wife finishing the painting project in the train room. I have to run to Sutherlands to pick up some long finishing nails to install the trim that I just finished painting.
There may be the start of benchwork in the near future!
