Garry
Where were my manners? I may be preoccupied up North but I am not too busy to overlook the loss of one of your dear friends.
My friends are Golden and so are yours.
My condolences for your loss of your friend Dan. That's my little Brother's name.
In our family we have Little Garry. His Father is Garry Senior that is loved just as much. There is no Garry Jr. If you called him that, he would know what you're saying but he would look at you like you didn't. He is just Little Garry and always makes the best chili at our family get-togethers.
I am so sorry for the loss of your friend Dan

Good afternoon ..
Kevin, MLC, and anyone I missed: ... Thank you for commenting regarding my post about my good friend, Dan, passing away yesterday.
Below is a picture taken a few years ago with Dan and the Dinner Train in Bardstown, KY. Four couples road the train that day, and we all enjoyed it.
Everybody: .... Have a good evening.

You can't be bored on your first day of vacation and I'm not by any means whatsoever but the afternoon just got a little more interesting.
Blue Oyster just fumbled around in his deep freezer in the garage. He said Brother-in-law it's getting a little slim pickings in here. It's time to go get another quarter of beef because we all need to eat good tonight.
I've been by there but we've never stopped. We ain't going to this farm and we're not going to that farm. We're going to the Udder Farm.
I'm serious, their last name is Udder. And it's not that dyed red crap you buy in the grocery store. This stuff is Brown Grass-fed, Fresh, aged right and Delicious
Even Lion would approve!
I'll be getting my grub on tonight with my brother-in-law
The Thunder is starting to rumble up here but that's okay. We can cook in the double garage tonight or down in the pole barn and Sid left his old bass here

Good afternoon, everyone. A few duties to do today, but otherwise another nice easy day. Finishing a building on the layout is about the most pressing thing I have to do.
It won't be the northwoods, but we will meet all three daughters and families at a cabin in southern Missouri next month. Like always, I will just sit to the side and enjoy the bedlam.

I see that Feline just fine Lion and I wouldn't mess with her either

Now I feel Just like Kevin and his Bad-Chili the other day. So does Judy, Barbie and Steve-O seem to be okay.
We had so much fun last night we will all need to look for a plastic surgeon to remove the smiles off our faces but there's nothing better than a greasy burger and a coke when you play late, sleep late and get up late.
Blue Oysters -n- Monster and me went to town cuz Burger King has 245 going on right now. And we had to re-up on adult beverages
They tasted (Kinda) good but Judy and I are not used to eating like that and both our stomachs are Jacked!
Maybe some Pepto-Bismol or something.....The first night went fast and round 2 is just around the corner

Good morning MLC, looks like you and I are the only ones in here.
I simply want to have two hard boiled eggs in a bowl and a cup of black coffee to start this day.
The house behind mine is empty now, as is another about three houses North on my street. There are probably more, but these two are showing signs of abandonment and no upkeep. Lawns have not been mowed in three weeks, etc.
There are still more than a dozen For Sale or For Rent signs in my neighborhood. It seems September was the month a lot of people moved out.
Not much going on today for me... just working on the bathroom.
Garry, sorry for your loss.
not much going on this morning, back to real work, no cooties.
Feeling much better tonight. I watched a movie with my wife, and just enjoyed a very peaceful evening at home.
I hope all are well.

Did you mean 'Oral Eh'?
I saw where you're going with that Brent but I pay to differ.
When I lived up by International Falls I knew this hot number I met at a basketball game that lived on the Iron Range
Her name was Dawn
I would drive down to see her drive down to see her drive down to see her drive down to see her
She was so lovely but I never saw the sun come up and I never did know a girl named Dusk or I would have gave that one a shot
That was funny Brent, you did make me laugh. It's just I could relate to the name Don/Dawn....as I was searching for the crack of Dawn
Early in the morning
All just silly humor of course
TF, that cabin sounds just like what I need right about now along with a little fishing.
The boys and I had a place we could go and every morning just as you could see a sliver of light on the horizon without fail our friend Don would go down to the dock, peel off every stitch and go for a skinny before the rest of the lake was up to see him in his altogether. Now when we would take a newbie up with us, or a couple of ladies we would warn them not to get up too early because they do not want to see the crack of Don.
Iv'e always loved your goat Ed.
He isn't as smelly and doesn't have as many whiskers as you

Enjoy your time with nature! Ed
At one time in my life, my goal was to have a house on a southern beach.
For some reason that goal changed. Now, my dream is to have a northwoods cabin.
I took a campfire break and the second thing to remember is if I had my way
I would have
CN Charlie
Kevin
Ed- twice and the goat
Terry
Mike
Lion
Chip
Jan
Randy
Wayne
And all the rest of the gang here.
I almost forgot Overmod, I've been getting to like that Kid too!
Here right along with me for some good food and fun
In Canada the toothbrush is Oral A
Dave, John I wish you were here, you would have so much fun we would have to change something I guess but probably not, is all good up here

Hey TF,
Glad to hear that you are having a good time! I love campfires!
SpaceMouseAt first there was just a low rumble that barely shook the house, then the pitch of the sound rose in frequency until it was clear that what I held in my hand was mini particle accelerator.
Now that's funny writing!
It's too bad Kevin bought that expensive hammer chisel last month to break up the thinset. All he needed was an Oral B with an EveryReady AA battery.
It's a holiday tradition in my family to put a toothbrush in everyone's stocking, part of my wife Julie's ongoing campaign to rid the world of plaque, decay, and the horrors of halitosis. Last year she went all out and got me an Oral B electric toothbrush with a rotating brush. (Stay with me. The horror part is coming.)
Everything was peachy, other than it felt like chewing on a vibrator. Last week, however, the battery failed. So instead of contributing to the heaps of non-disposable plastic, I decided to take the sucker apart and see how I could go about adding more power. I keep all my old power supplies from when my Internet providers determined I have to buy modem upgrades just for such emergencies. As it turns out, I didn't need anything more than an AA battery.
The now-dead battery that came out was solid red, completely devoid of writing, and looked like it was colored by pre-schoolers. I replaced it with an EverReady di-lithium power cell and fired the sucker up.
At first there was just a low rumble that barely shook the house, then the pitch of the sound rose in frequency until it was clear that what I held in my hand was mini particle accelerator. I said 'What the Frack,” turned it off and added toothpaste. I turned it on.
Particles of toothpaste accelerated across my chest and the mirror. And walls and counter and all the bottles of personal care items and Macallan's 12 mouthwash (tastes better than Listerine and still kills germs).
It was clear I needed a different strategy. So what I did was put the toothpaste on, stick it in my pie hole, then turn it on. Needless to say, there was a peppermint explosion in my mouth. Every single taste bud was hit, targeted with computer precision. The noise was indescribable. The vibration through my teeth, through my mandible, to the little stirrups, hammers and anvils of my inner ear created a racket that the word intense does not do justice. I fumbled for the OFF switch.
Putting on my glasses, I opened my mouth to see what damage was done. I couldn't hear anything except the residue of the sound of a Saturn 5 rocket in my head.
The tops of my teeth were clean and highly polished. I expected them to be worn to the nubs, but luckily the bristles of the brush gave out first and I could pick them out of my pallet with tweezers.
On the plus side, I now own a hand held device that can capture malicious ghosts.
Building the Rock Ridge Railroad with the slowest construction crew west of the Pecos.
After my stomach was so upset, I have been eating nothing but brown rice for the past two days.
I am feeling better now.
Worked on the bathroom for a bit today, but I did not get enough done to talk about.
TF, that sounds great. What a nice week you'll have.
Evening from beautiful Antigo Wisconsin.
Beautiful fall weather and I have cell phone reception up here now. It seems they installed a tower not too far from Blue oyster and monsters house
It's beautiful and cool up here and I wanted to go fishing as soon as I got here. Brother-in-law said we can go if you want to get some exercise and beautiful scenery but we ain't going to catch any fish. I said how do you know we ain't going to catch any fish. He said did you forget?
I did forget. He took me down in his basement and I remember him telling me about his friend that has an Aquarium. Now my brother-in-law has two aquariums with a walleye in one and a Northern in the other.
The minnows are swimming around in both aquariums and I remember this stuff now. When the fish start to eat them it's time to go fishing because all the other fish in the area will be eating too..... and I used to consider myself a dock boy. My how the times have changed.
This sparked a memory I had to share with Steve from when I grew up on the resort. I used to open up the dock house at 6:30 every morning. The first thing I did was net all the dead minnows out of the minnow tank by the lake.
I kid you not they were always waiting for me when I got there. My pet Northerns close to shore wagging their tails and I swear to God they would smile at me.
Every morning I would throw the dead minnows to my pet Northerns. I knew who they were, one had a gash near his tail, another had a lot of pink in his fins. When one of my guests would catch one of my pet northern's off the dock while I was there I would say put him back. After I explained, they always did.
We are having a lot of fun our first night here. The bonfire is already going strong and Barbie is making beer can chicken over Kingsford. I was so happy my phone works up here so I could drop you guys a line.
Love you guys and have a great night
Good Afternoon,
Herrinchoker, words just don't convey the sadness that I felt reading your post about your huge loss.
Jimmy, good advice from Brent. I too am only 5'7" with a slight build. I have never weighed more than 145 lbs. At 72 I don't take any meds for heart, diabetes or anything else. The glaucoma is hereditary. Anyway I have not been a fitness fanatic but I have always watched my weight with moderation being the word. If I gained 5 lbs. I would immediately start cutting back or changing what I ate. I believe in the old adage 'you are what you eat'.
We had a lovely drive along the river north of the city yesterday. The fall colours were truly magnificent. Robbie slept in the back seat. Car rides just put him to sleep.
Well time for some supper. Salmon is on the menu tonight.
