So exciting...

Eveing Diners!
Flo, give the gang and I a please and Dirk and Robbie a Dog Treat!
Work Front, had more Squirrel's than customers! Yes real Squirrel's, young gary's. Had 3 squirrel's and 2 customers. 1 customer bought and I made around a extra $40.00. Squirrel"s just watched and ate nuts. There is a ledge for the soffit that is exposed in parts of the store. That is where the squirrel's are hanging out. Cute little things, but they are going to have to go! From there sizes I am guessing 5 to 6 months old.
Later, Ken and Dirk says me bite squirrel's Daddy, Woof, Woof!

Evening
It was one of those weather makes no sense days today. I like those, you don't see them often. Kind of nice all day but one minute sunny, the next minute the wind kicks up, the next minute a light sunshower.
The times it did rain was just a little Squall that didn't last long and then it was sunny and nice again.
Judy and I sat on a deck at a restaurant for quite a while for food and a couple beers. We didn't get chased away from the little sprinkles. Actually we kind of enjoyed it.

hon30critterThanks for offering to move the Diner. I'm away from home and I'm not competent enough with my phone to do it.
No problem. The diner will be moved in 2 hours and 51 minutes.
Looking forward to the report on your adventures.
Kevin,
Thanks for offering to move the Diner. I'm away from home and I'm not competent enough with my phone to do it.
Dianne and I had a great day! I will tell you all about it when I get back on Friday night.

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
All right, Michigan it is.
I will move the diner in 12 hours and 41 minutes...
Let the countdown begin.
Mornin', well it is 11:59am here in the Finger Lakes...
Michigan sounds good to me. Especially if we spend some time in th upper peninsula. Had one of the best family vacations there ever way back when... I'll see if I can find some of the old photos of that to share. Will have to scan as they are not on my computer, but I have meaning to do that anyway for my family.

Michigan is a very beautiful state. Good ol' Bob Seger lives over there. I'm down with that one

I will set up the diner right after midnight central time (The forum time zone).
BroadwayLionMaybe we should move it to Hogwarts... we haven't been there yet. From the films I can see that Hogsmeade station is a bit out of the town, but it does have two tracks, perhaps to let the locomotive escape to the other end of the train.
I do not have access to platform 9 3/4.
We will let you move the diner if someone else doesn't do it first.

From the films I can see that Hogsmeade station is a bit out of the town, but it does have two tracks, perhaps to let the locomotive escape to the other end of the train. There appears to be no turntable there in the station, but I suspect there is (or at least must be) a small yard a little further down the line.
Draco said the train goes back to London, but this cannot be right. Why dead-head to London and then back again at the end of the semister. I suspect that it is laid up near by.
I also suspect that there is alternate day service to Inverness. Supplies have to come in from somewhere you know. A combine with a single locomotive, possibly a diesel would be sufficient for this service.

Dave said he cannot do it again in October.
I have asked the question already. Nobody answered.

No one has volunteered to open the Diner in its new location tonight.
I will do it, but I have never moved the diner before, and I certainly will not be able to move the diner with the same talent that Dave has applied to the task.
Let me know if you guys want me to take this on, and where to put it.

LastspikemikeOnly Panamax and Aframax tankers can get through and they have to be in ballast going in and only 80% loaded coming out....our Gateway to the World, sure enough.
The short comings of the port also include draft retrictions on the Fraser, oil exports, cruise ship restrictions because of the low height of the Lions gate bridge, rail access and on and on and on. Roberts bank has plans in the works to deal with these things. A chit chat thread on a model railroad forum likely will have little interest in such matters and I suggest you take it to the appropriate social media site.
Being in logistics for the Federal Government for 36 years makes me well aware of how things work as far as rail, marine, trucking and air transport. I would never bore these good people to statistical details of the workings of such entities so I will let it go.
When my brother and I chat we chat for hours about model railroad stuff. The conversation never ends but it's fun.
He knows that and so do I. I just got a text from him that he has been laying his track down dry per my method from my experiment.
I can't wait to lay my new track but I think I'm going to build my two mountains first.
Wow!
My neighbor just Tripped Me Out a few minutes ago.
I was out on my stoop having a beer and he strolled up to chat. I'm scheduled to do a plumbing job at his place on the second floor. His name is John too.
He is older than me, 75. The nicest guy you would ever want to meet. While we're out there chitt-chatting, John whips a glass contraption out of his pocket and does a oney.
Freaked me out! I don't know why. To each thier own poison but I never Imagined the two years I've known him. God forbid, could be cancer or glaucoma I guess.
I had my share of pot in high school and all it did was make me paranoid. I wish it did work for me as it shirley would be cheaper than beer.
Things that make you go Hmmm!
Interesting story Ed. I was channel surfing and caught a bit of the Reno Air Races, which happened 2 weeks ago. They had AT-6's in a race. They were painted like race cars, one having a big Honda logo on the underside.Looked dangerous to me, but no one crashed. I would have like to see better closeups of the planes. The next heat was some sort of jet at 275 mph.
Heavy rain rolled in today. Good for my new sod, but depressing.
