Hi TF, that's brilliant to hear of. When I was younger I used love playing Darts at my local pub. It is a mint sport, with minimal effort required. If you are not chucking Darts, you are raising a glass. Turning-in, Paul
"It's the South Shore Line, Jim - but not as we know it".
Wow Paul! ... I just liked the ring to that Hi, Good to hear from you again
Ironically you brought that up. The Hiawatha Grain Elevators are directly across the Cardinal Bar and Grill. A big hangout for my friends and mine over our younger years. We still go there on occasion, just not as frequent anymore. Back in the day, Dart Night was every Thursday night.
The best Juicy Lucy in town has always been said is at Matt's Bar. That's BS. I still go to the Cardinal frequently because they use the best beef and their Juicy Lucy is phenomenal.
Roofer Rod and myself put the beautiful stone skirting around that bar, some new windows and the front door on the Cardinal about 5 years ago

Good evening at 23:30 British Summer Time (ha ha) The last 2 months we've had good weather in the UK. My mate said, "you watch, as soon Lockdown is eased - the weather will be back to normal". He was right, cold Northerly winds, rain, grey skies. Central Heating turned on. The irony is that the small Coasters off-loading fertiliser/on-loading grain, can't get out of the harbour easily, because there is so little water coming down the river.
I've had another exhausting evening Railfanning the TC&W west of Glencoe and the Minnesota Commercial switching the yard near St. Paul station + BNSF mainline action to finish. At St. Paul Yard, the eastbound 'Empire Builder' came in. This was a smart-looking train, I thought. So to quench my thirst ladies, please could I have a pint of 'Gravity Well' and for anyone else who would like to sample the local craft beers, as I always do wherever I go.
The St. Paul footage included a bit of gravity switching, which I always like to watch. The Hiawatha Grain Elevators looked good for tomorrow but I'll try to find some out in the country Railroad footage as well. If only I could find a way of being paid an income fo watching Railroad vids on the Tube. Paul
Good evening
I need a Frito pie. I like Fritos. It's the only bag of chips anywhere where you can simply read the ingredients list in a half second. It says, (corn, salt). That it's about the best ingredients list these days but I still have not had this Frito pie you all speak of.
If I did get first introduced to this Frito pie I would want Petra to make one for us, as long is that would be okay with Ulrich? I'm not too keen on trying new things. If I do, It better be prepared and cooked right
I'm not going to be Debbie Downer tonight, I could, but I ain't going to. Kelly has been strong and she's hanging in there. I know the prayers are working and I thank you all. Still not out of the woods yet but positive ways of thinking always work with a little Faith! Still remaining hopeful here.
It's a great Friday night! It's sunny but the humidity went away and it's just lovely outside
Just sitting on the stoop enjoying a nice cold beer after working a little bit today.
Hope everyone is well here
Good evening, diners.
Happy hour started early for me, and I'm on my second drink before 4:00 p.m.
We had a storm with 80 mph winds, so I had several hours of yard cleanup. We also had our first men's Bible study at the local restaurant in several months. Then, because of the rain, the lawn grew, so that needed cutting. Finally, my garage project is ongoing, and I started painting in there.
All-in-all, a long, hot day of work. Ice cold beer sure tastes good now.

Saturdays and Sundays, I will be woken up by a steam whistle!
I wish we had the deal already "high and dry"!
Happy times!

Garry, I remember the G.N. passenger trains that came to Winnipeg. I seem to recall it was an overnight train that had an E unit for power. I did see it on occasion as it ran through the south end of the city and we lived in the south end. N.P. also ran a passenger train as did Soo Line. The Soo Line train went to Minneapolis but I think the N.P. train went to North Dakota.
G.N. and N.P. owned a short line in Winnipeg called the Midland Railway. It had one SW900 and a G.P. 9 . I was 'hanging out' by their engine house when I was about 10 and a very kind fellow invited me into the cab of the SW900 and let me 'run' the engine a short distance. I had my had on the throttle! Very exciting.
York1I was unsure what the following meant. What is meant by "repos"?
The correct English word is, I think, "landing".

Fingers are crossed Ulrich! A nice looking place.
Over here, you'd be hard pressed to find a lot to build on for 55K.!

I read a few things about how to make them. I will get the ingredients today and try my luck with a baked Frito Pie tonight.
They left the tier III billing in place for this cycle in spite of the rain. It will not effect us because we do not have children in the home, and we do our laundry at a laundromat. However, it is effecting a lot of people who are in no position to handle it right now. Sad decision.
This looks great, Ulrich! You would be able to watch steam every week.

On the first floor there are repos, as well as two good rooms.
Good Afternoon!
Our weather guessers were wrong - the predicted ra*n did not show up. It´s mainly cloudy, though, with some sunny spells.
My brother and I exchanged emails regarding the estate. With a little bit of luck, the estate will be settled by the end of the month, which means there is something heading my way to fill the getaway kitty. Whether it will suffice to by a home I don´t know yet.
I keep on probing the Danish real estate market. The new listings are mainly properties requiring major fixer upper work, but I found one which seems to be in good order, having been done up only recently. The house is not in a remote location, but located in the quiet hamlet of Bandholm, which sports some shopping facilities. Bandholm is also the northern terminus of Museumsbanen Maribo - Bandholm, a museum railway running steam trains on weekends during summer. The station is within walking distance!
The house looks nice!
This is what the agent says about the house:
A gem in beautiful Bandholm. Here you get a super beautiful and totally secluded place right in the heart of Bandholm. The property has just been renovated. The climate screen in the form of roofs, masonry and windows is razor-sharp.Originally erected in 1870 - but renovated to appear today in partially glossy wall, preferably timberwork, thermo windows and red tile roof - An exterior and facade which is in good condition.Inside the house is just ready for you !. Back entrance with utility room, lovely bathroom with shower - staircase to the 1st floor - large kitchen all-room and half-open connection to dining room - as well as room, substitute room and good sized living room. On the first floor there are repos, as well as two good rooms. The property is completely screened off towards Birketvej - but via the "back entrance" - into a large driveway, with outbuildings and sheds, - as well as a nice nice small enclosed garden - including a lovely terrace area around the annex with a small covered terrace. There is district heating in the area - but the property is heated by pellet stoves with an annual cost according to the energy mark of only 11-12,000, - and potentially supleted with a little electricity. This is a gem that can be acquired at a really good price.
Asking price is about $55k!
Keep your fingers crossed!
Good morning. ...
Meanhwile , back in MN, ND, and SD, I am currently running a short Great Northenr passenger train on my layout. I posted pctures of it in Weekend Phto Fun already, but I will re-post them here. GN operated regional passenger trains from St. Paul which went to and from Duluth, MN; Winnepeg, Canada (Hello, Charlie!), and Fargo, ND. Here is my 5 car train to represent one of them.

Good Morning,
Cloudy day here with a max of about 70F. Still waiting for the promised rain to arrive tomorrow night.
I'm getting a couple of quotes for a new fence. I have a rough estimate and it was within range of us being able to do it. We really need the fence replaced before we do much to replace the shrubs and a tree along the back fence line. Sure has been a lot of large shrubs that have died off in the past few years. Its gone from lush, can't see the fence to thin.
Well I was too slow on making the full price offer on that CP Hudson. I called the shop yesterday afternoon to do that but it had been sold in the past couple of days. Oh well, once I paid taxes, shipping and tuneup costs it would have been quite a big investment. I'll use the money towards the fence and feel better too. To console myself I ordered a display case for that brass CN Hudson I bought last year.
Ken, while I've never cracked any ribs, a good friend fell off her horse a few years ago and it took quite a long time for her ribs to heal. She sold the horse. Anyway, rest up.
The gym I go to is supposed to open the middle of the month. While it caters mainly to seniors and rehab patients, I will be cancelling my membership until there is a vaccine. My wife would be just too nervous about me bringing something home.
A very dull life here lately. We just aren't going out at all.
SeeYou190 Four weeks ago we were in a severe drought, total lawn watering ban, and tier III water billing. Now we have had 7 inches of rain in the past three days, and all of South Florida is underneath a flood warning. We have had SO MUCH RAIN! -Kevin

For those on blood thinners ( I'm on coumadin, no designer drugs for me, first responders, nor hospitals can't control the bleeding from them), I get little bottles of Lumicain from the podiatry practice where the wife works.
I apply it with Q Tips. It stings, that way you know you've hit the right spot.
There also sticks, like long match sticks, called Grafco silver nitrate applicators, BUT they leave a big black smear, that last for days. I won't use them on my face.
Check with your doctor.

Flo, give the gang and I a please and Dirk half a dog treat.
Felt pretty good today till I tried to do some moral stuff. Took the wife to a local food market, bought some food, put some gas in her car and came home. I was beat and my rib was hurting. I am off the heavy pain meds and plain on staying off them!
Work Front Sort Of. I won't go into full details but did not get my check today? I normally work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, store could not open too last Friday so what the deal? Decided not call tonight, I get mean when I don't feel well so I call Saturday.

Good evening ...
sandjam. Thank you for posting info about roundhouses and turntables in SD. Interesting .
Ed ... that's a big mess of tank cars. I hope you don't have derailmenta like that on your layout.
MLC ... I recall having a version of Frito Pie at Sonic drive-in restaurant. Not bad. An easy home recipe would be Fritos, shredded cheddar cheese, chile, and chopped onions . Heat in microwave.
Prayers for those affected by the virus.
have a good evening

Well dang! I was kinda hoping a frito pie was something along the lines of "take a bag of fritos and pound on them a while 'til you get small uniform size chunks and then sprinkle a thick layer on top of a big bowl of plain old mac-and-cheese."
But the official recipe sounds good, too . . .

Get yourself an electric shaver. I can't imagine blade shaving anymore while taking blood thinners.
