Morning diners,

I have memory losts too with money since I have to hide it. I recently found some weeks between a stack of MR magazines. Nothing to much just $6 and can't find it this week. I know I didn't spend it because I haven't left the house.

Good Morning,

Ray, sorry to hear about your sister.

Track Fiddler, I have a small N scale layout and have the same 2-6-6-2 loco except mine has a vandy tender. Anyway changing the front coupler is a tough task as there isn't a coupler pocket and the replacement must have a very thin shank or it won't fit through the slot in the pilot. I have  a Heavy Mountain that has a full size dummy that does work. I think I will see if BMan has any replacements with the hope of using one on the other. I tried to get various makes of couplers through the slot with the idea of just gluing it in place but no luck. That 2-6-6-2 is a nice loco that runs well but it doesn't pull much. It will only pull about 8 cars up my 3% grade. The Mountain will easily out pull it. My best puller is an Atlas Trainmaster. Not sure how many it will get up the grade as  the train was getting too long to look reasonable on my door layout.

Time to get started on something. I need to clean out the garage. Another cool day hear with a high of about 50F.

When did they start leaving the cabs on slugs?

VMV of Paducah did that for CSX ... Not sure when, but maybe 20 to 25 years ago. ... Paducah and Louisville has similar slugs mated with GP40's.

Good morning everybody ....

Here's a picture I took several years ago in Hopkinsville, KY ... It is a road slug made from a GP30 and a GP40. ... The units are switching at an industrial siding. ...

GOODMORNING!

Hey I tried stopping in all day yesterday, but the doors were locked!

Glad that snafu got straightened out.

Fall is here, today is the first rainy morning of the season.

I got Malorys number right! My texts got sent to spam because I'm an unknown number.

I'm at DEFCON 3, which is she might date me.

Defcon 1 is my friend Sarah, so far in the bro/friend zone I ask her out and she doesn't get that its a "date"

Defcon 5 is the girl wants to go on a date with me and was waiting for me to ask.

Laugh

Went to the railroad club, trains are running great, we got a new member! So we're getting closer to where we need to be.

Well I'm off to work, gotta unload a truck!

PS top of page drinks are on me.

I recently had the reverse of that happen.  Found $50 I had tucked away for a rainy day apparently.  No idea when I hid it there! Laugh

Twice of late, I’ve put items into a “Safe Place” only to find I haven’t!!!

My brother in law and his wife 'safely' hid several hundred dollars that they were supposed to take on a trip (to New Zealand actually!). That was about three years ago. They still haven't found it!

Cheers!!

According to what I read on the Kalmbach site.....they are going through a vast infrastructure change, maintenance and a New CS provider. Will not be completed until the middle of Oct. In that time anything is possible to affect all Kalmbach sites.......

Glad our host got their digital gremlins ironed out. I checken in throughout the night. All the Kalmbach sites were inaccessible. Nice to be back Yes

How about a nice, colorful, switcheroo?

... right before my very nose! I am glad to have found the coupler, but I feel a liitle Dunce about the whole issue!

Unfortunately, Ulrich I think it’s an age related issue. Besides it’s not as bad as my problems. Twice of late, I’ve put items into a “Safe Place” only to find I haven’t!!!Sad Sigh

Good Morning!

It feels good to be able to log in again! A big thanks to the Kalmbach folks to have sorted things out!

Yesterday has been a weird day. While I was "operating" my layout, I noticed that my blue electric started to fail. Those old Marklin locos are really robust animals and it had just received new  brushes, so I had no clue why the hiccup in the gitalong showed up. A closer inspection revealed that two of the 4 traction tires had gone off and got tangled up in the gears. Fixing that was not a big issue, but when I started to assemble the truck again, the coupler went of into the nirvana of the floor. Now there is no carpet monster eating tiny parts and the coupler incl. shank is not a small part, but it was not to be found. Both Petra and I spent an hour on our hands and  knees searching for that dang part - to no avail! We finally gave up, silently accepting the fate and writing off the few bucks a coupler costs.

This morning, I gave it one more try and would you believe it - after a search of a few seconds, there it was, right before my very nose! I am glad to have found the coupler, but I feel a liitle Dunce about the whole issue!

Happy times!

Happy times!

We moved a lot as a kid. My parents had a strategy for it. Put everything in three piles: Things you need and use, things you don't need or use, and things that might come in handy someday. Then get rid of the last two piles, because you're kidding yourself about that last one.

LION, I seem to remember a post a while ago about the knees of him giving him trouble. Is him going to be OK going up and down the stairs so much? Or is there an elevator big enough for a full-grown LION?

Legs and more importantly neuropathy etc, train room is a stretch, but here in the house we do have an elevator.

The move is comining out well. One can gather a huge amount of treasures living in the same room for over 30 years. None of it is worth anything, but is far too precious to throw out.

As model railroaders, we know all about this.

Good Afternoon!

It took me quite a while to log into this site again. Apparently, the IT guys at Kalmbach keep the door half-closed recently.

It was a cold night, followed by a clear, but also cold day. We started the grocery run of by de-icing the windshield. Quite early, this year!

Otherwise, all is quiet on the eastern front. Did a little "gardening" on my layout, adding some more green.  A couple of more trees and some bushes, that´s all it takes to finish the "scenery". Oh, I forget the pond - the bridge in the back of the layout needs a reason.

Happy times!

Nah I could never be a politician, same thing for a lawyer, I cannot tell a lie.

Reminds me of something that I was told many years ago. I was told I would not make a good politician because I am too nice.

Hobby Front: Got a few more things done on the layout. Got some ballasting done on all the turnouts except for one and all the main yard joint tracks. (Still have to finish building the track that connects to car ferry yard to the main yard. I know what it will look like but I won't install it until I get most of the rest of the layout done as that will make getting to some areas a lot more difficult.) I ended up taking out some of what I had ballasted on a couple of joint tracks as I forgot I needed to build crossings on those two tracks. Thankfully the ballast was still wet when I realized my error.

Everly brothers? Never heard of em, the Isley Brothers yes, SHOUT!Laugh

One thing is even if I don't like the girl I'm doing a duet with (like as in date) it will help my social status, why? Well because for example, I told my friend Sarah that I was doing a duet, her first words were "who is she?" NOT KIDDING!

LaughLaughLaugh

I was roflmho, (rolling on the floor laughing my hind off)

I'm looking forward to playing the art crawl, it's going to be a lot of fun.
