Hey, Fellow Diners! Good Morning...
Flo, you say Ken got the last three tacos? Well, no worries. I best not chow-down on tacos at 3 AM!
How about a frosted malted milk just like they used to make at the Higbee's Department store in Cleveland—right off the steam concourse of Union Terminal.
http://webersvintageicecream.com/the-famed-frosted-malt/
I have never been able to duplicate that flavor, anywhere! North Coast Custard makes a pretty good "resemblance" of the Euclid Beach Frozen Custard but I just can't find the same great flavor of the Higbee's Frosted Malteds...
Going back to the hornet-wasp discussion. The worst experience I have ever witnessed was a situation two summers ago when Mrs. Pullman turned out our goats into a pasture. A very short time later I heard her run out of the house. She had the phone and was calling the vet. One of the big, male goats was on the ground in shock. He had apparently stirred-up a ground nest of hornets.
By the time I got out there she had pulled this 175 pound goat away from the nest and had been stung seven times herself swatting them away from him. The poor goat only lived maybe another ten minutes.
This was a strong, healthy goat—like an ox he was—dropped in a matter of minutes!
We still feel bad and partly responsible but how would anyone know that nest was there. The buggers hide in the ground! Nasty things... one of my sons got stung several times when he picked up a piece of old wood laying on the ground when he was very young. Just never saw the nest!
Anyway... onward and upward!
On the train front: I'm about half-way through with final Hulett #4. I have to be careful as I'm getting lackluster with this one so little mistakes are creeping in. I'm checking off each step with a marker now and paying more attention. Easy to get "soft" with mundane tasks!
Sorry that SD7 gave you fits, Ken. Again, the truck clip. Maybe it became dislodged in shipping. Hope you get 'er on the rails OK soon.
You're at the top-O-the page, Ken, so thanks for the Malt! Flo, you outdid yourself! Deee-licious
Thoughts and prayers to those in need...
Regards, Ed

LIONS do not eat Cheeze. Makes him barff.
I got rid of the ladder from my nursing office. I fell off of that last year and broke my leg. Now I have a nice platform to stand on, but there is no ladder for the cat to climb up to her window.
Sorry for not getting back in here for a few days. Got busy with a few projects, not all of them railroad-related.
Flo, could I get a club sandwhich and some cottage fries with white cheese on them and a glass of water? Thank you very much.

They are Walthers GSCs that I picked up when I was on vacation in ID last month. NP (Northern Pacific) marked and they work well in the era that I model.

Just as an aside, it is a well known fact that American English is the hardest language for a non-speaker to learn because every rule has at least one word that violates it. (e.g. i before e except after c and in words such as neighbor) It also makes it hard for an English speaker to learn a non-English language.
Railroad Projects: Had to call the place where I ordered the needed paint for a couple of projects. One of the bottles that I was sent wasn't correct. (Ordered a green paint but I got a bottle of white paint.) Talked to an actual person after jumping through a couple of hoops and got a replacement on the way. Over the last couple of days, I have also gotten a little bit further on my new engine house. Have to bash a front door from the stock components for it as those components were too small to run an engine through.
Non-layout Projects: Got some maps scanned on Monday at our local print shop (purchased on vacation) for a possible presentation. My scanner is too small (standard multi-function printer - 8.5 x 11 or so and these maps are 11X17). While I was there I also ordered some more of the notepads that I use at work. Had to go back Tuesday morning as one of the images wasn't emailed to me. (Also had to show the new bindery person what the notepads looked like. He just hadn't done anything like them before.) Also had the annual physical on Monday. Nothing major. Just like to keep up on my health. (Too many ailments that run in the family not to keep up.) Later Monday, I had to have one of the local telephone company's techs come out and fix my telephone. The line was being very scratchy (unusual for this company) and also quite spotty on the service actually working. What was hoped to be a quick fix ended up being about an hour and a half. The tech had to replace a couple of things in the actual building box, put a new modular box in my apartment and replaced a section of the outline line as the section of line was cracked and old. He figured that the box and the line were at least 20 years old. Quite interesting to watch.

yougottawantaEd - What kind of hornets build nest in the ground. Here we see "yellow jacketets" I think they are wasp ?
Yes, YGW Yellow jacket, "Vespula" are a variety of wasp. According to Wikipedia there are hundreds of thousands of varieties of wasps. Then, within the yellowjacket genera there are dozens of varieties of hornets and yellowjackets.
This weekend we pressed a half-ton of apples for cider. Wow, that attracted every wasp in the neighborhood to feed on the pulp and juice. A couple of us got stung a few times. Next year we will set up a screened-in area!
All I know is... fear, respect and distance!

Good Afternoon Diners,
Flo. I'll have an extra large coffee with lots of cream, please.
Just dropping in for a minute during lunch.
Yes, it can get below 40 overnight in So Cal. It's not all that common, but it happens frequently enough. I remember frost warnings and it could get down into the 20s.
That was always a real concern to the orange growers. If one ever goes by an orange grove and sees a propellor mounted on a tall pole, it's to keep he air moving during frost times so the frost doesn't settle on the oranges and ruin the crop.
Every winter there would always be a day or two that the snow would get below the 3000 ft level, which could mess with the Grapevine and Cajon Pass.
Unfortunately, I have to run.
Hello to everyone, and thanks YGW, I appreciate the sentiment.
I hope everyone is OK and safe.
Jim (with a nod to Mies Van Der Rohe)
Good Afternoon,
Well our warm weather is now gone and we have about 45F with a strong NW wind that Johnboy has sent our way. Hard to believe that it was 79F on Monday. We did get the last of the shrubs planted though. I also made another attempt at caulking the leaking skylight. My first attempt stop one leak but another turned up. So back on the roof and another tube of slicone was applied to the gasket area. I think it had deteriorated over time but I had been reluctant to put on the caulk as I was afraid it might be visible inside. It worked!! No leaks in the rain last night. Hope I didn't tempt fate there.
I thought I had fixed the power pickup on the light mountain by fixing the tender pickup but I was wrong. So I replaced the wipers on the loco with a new set that I had ordered in the summer as I was suspicious that there was a problem with them. One solder was broken but that didn't fix the problem so I had to take out the old and install the new. It was a little fiddly but I got it done and it did fix the problem. I was pleasantly surprised that Bachmann had the parts for 10 year old loco and it was easy to order them on their website.
We went out birding this morning at the local nature reserve and had a very pleasant time. We saw 18 species in about an hour and then had a very nice late breakfast in the cafe they have on site. It was a lot nicer out this morning than it is now.
I hope Rob in Georgia is doing ok. It has been a long time since we have heard from him.

UP831 - : ) Glad you stopped back in ! I had no idea it got down into teh 20s! I tought SCal was like the song - always sunny ! I do not understand snow gets below 3000' ? Here if it snows it snows everywhere. At sea level to teh tops of teh mtns.
Ed - How many bushels is in a 1/2 ton ? Our local farmers say it takes a bushel of apples to get a gallon of apple cider. Is this what you expierence ? What do you do with the pulp ? The locals give it to the black angus or Hereford that is raised here. LOL Loved the comment moose going to the Elk lodge

Flo, I will have a and give Ed one if he makes it in.
Wasted this day off. Just felt like Caboose all day. Not sick, just could not get up a head of steam. Spent more time trying to nap than anything. Did a tad of running, only spent maybe 45 minutes out of the house.
Feet Front New Diabetic shoes are causing all sort of problems. Will be going in for the thrid re-fitting for the inserts Thursday. They keep cuasing some really nasty blisters. I have had them now for around 3 weeks and only wore them maybe 5 days? Go back to the old shoe for the right foot and the wound shoe for the left. Left foot has the ulcer on the hammer toe on the toe next to the big one.
Train Front.
Ed used my better Harbour Freight (only the best for my trains ) screw drivers set and did get the screw out! Not sure if I will have to remove the decoder. or if I can get the drive shaft back in with all the wires hooked up. May fiddle with it later tonight.
I Love Sound Engines! But just one at a time. Tryed running the Might Y6b with the B&O F7's, just sounds like a racket. Still need to get the Y6b on the programing track and turn down the sound. Maybe that will help?

Good Evening,
YGW, the company is Mac Skylights in Edmonton. I think they mainly do commercial not residential units. They do make a nice unit though for our climate being triple instead of just double layers and very heavy plastic. We had to go custom as one unit is 3' square and the other 2' square. They are both about 25 years old.
I am joining Ken's club, in that I have another loco problem, the chuff sound has disappeared from my BLI light mike. It happened a while ago when a reset fixed it but not this time. I sent a message to BLI so hopefully they have a fix that doesn't involve a return. Mind you the engine runs fine so hopefully a decoder exchange will do the trick if there isn't some other reset possible.
Good evening. This was the first day of traveling with no rain. As it turns out, had we stayed three more days in northern Saskatchewan, we would now be enjoying 8 inches of fresh wet snow. Wife talked to friends while I was checking into the motel and they said they had just retrieved their fifth wheel travel trailer and pulled their rental boats out of the water before the snow came today.
Did get to watch a mixed freight cross the Missouri River at Souix City this morning. No pictures as I was driving down I-29 in traffic at the time we saw the train.
Spent the afternoon with my step-sister and her husband. Topped off the visit with a piece of cherry pie.
Today's picture is of a National Railcar Equipment Company diesel located in the Pas yard of the Hudson Bay Railroad. The second picture is of a five stall roundhouse at the Pas. The roundhouse has no turntable but rather relies on switcches to line up the individual stalls. The facility is still in use.
Hope everyone has a great hump day this week.

Hi, Guys!
I am sure some of you have missed me, others were thankful I was gone for a while.
First, condolences and prayers to all who needed/need them. SOme have had some trying times, I guess.
I have only briefly skimmed the notes when possible, but have really had no time to write anything. I have been busy, especially with medical stuff, mostly, nad when not having days filled with MULTIPLE medical Appts. I ahve been working on the house.
Brief updates:
medical:
this has NOT been my year! after spending 15 weeks trying to get over pneumonia, then having the neck surgery, then in the car accident, then MULTIPLE xrays {about 150} and SEVERAL MRIs {about 20} and PT for the accident {once for neck, once for shoulder, twice now for the back due soley to the accident}; I have more surgery coming up onthe 26th of this month {that will slow me down} for the non-injured shoulder; surgery in Dec for the knee {torn ACL and Torn MCL ligaments} MAYBE; It is definite, I am now diabetic {A1C @ 7.5}; check in nad appts for BARIATRIC surgery {who knows what when, we are exploring options here and in SYracuse}; htings are a bit haywire with the urologist {no cancer yet, , just BPH< kidney problems, and other issues}....I have literally had medical appts all day long EVERY BUSINESS day from as early as 6:30 am until as late as 7:30 pm. Of course, as many of you know, that can mean some hurry up nad wait time too. I mean literraly I have spent ALL DAY, EVERY BUSINESS day in the hospital or doctors office!!!!! This month isn't over, has only 31 dAYs, nad I already have had or have coming up 32 medical appts, including surgery!
This is about the first break I've had to even check the computer, and I have 4,500 emails arcross 3 screennames to wade through. IF i have been on, its been late or early morning {we get up around 3 am...} to order stuff for the house.Thank goodness banking/credit unioning can be done by phone.
GARDEN:
The garden did well, but not as large a harvest as I was hoping, but it has been a drought summer here, If RAY hasn't told y'all. Yup, drought and long hot dry days. Watering every night. Now is the time to dig up spent plants and prep the beds for winter. I got a bale of hay for the strawberries. Carrots are still growing, red ones, purple ones and yellow ones and orange ones of course.about to harvest them iF i have time. I have apple trees to be planted, but need to get the big older tress out of the way.One is a 5 apple apple tree, will produce 5 varities. My cherry tree and peach tree got cancelled due, they say, to "crop failure". My fruit salad tree {grows peaches, nectarines, plums, and two other fruits.} they sent did nothing, and now they claim it is NOT for my zone, and now they only graft ti for 3 fruits.. GRR.
HOUSE:
The bonus room is FINALLY FINISHED {lots of nights spennt fixing it.} Itr WAS formerly an open porch. They enclosed it befroer we came along with two walls{insulated, two because one is against the garage, and the other is against the kitchen}. That was it. SO, I: sealed the concrete floor with DRY LOC, painted with floor paint, then went whole hog and found a room sized remenant for wall to wall comfort with a commercial rug @ only a whole $110 for a 12' x 12' room; finished hte ceiling with 9 almost 4'x4' panels {hte room is not quite 12x12}, then I put up moldings, three kinds nad medallions att the interesectiosn to give it a "coffered" ceiling look.....; last ear we added the electric heat strip, and use a now infared space heater {cheaper to run} to heat the room , so now a year round room. I have about 35-40 torpical pants in there, my faves, and some dwarf fruit bearing trees , if they will ever grow big enough to produce, though the new lemon tree is doing well, IF it will survive, we will have fresh lemons come december. I have dwarf banan plant, dwarf orange{two kinds}, dwarf pomegranate, dwarf lemon trees. I have indoor herbs growing too, and will try to have year round strawberries from some plants and the ever-bearing varietiy.
We finished off hte bathroom, and got many strong sturdy shelving uinits for organinzing the basement.
We built two sheds, one 8x8' Rubbermaid ROughneck vinyl one, and a smaller "gardening shed" 2x5' rubbermaid roughneck sheds. Next year we wil get a 8x15' vinyl coated steel shed to put on the other side of the back of the yard.
put in 30 privacy bushes on either side of the back yard, and boxed them in with landscape timbers and mulched them. I got a chipper and a chain saw to cover getting rid of branches. The largetr branches will be cut and saved for kindling in the chiminea, if I get around to ordering it.
Put up a canvas gazebo, nad used plastic landscape tiles for flooring inside nad to make a patio outside teh bonus room {the former patio}.in two yuears we will put in a wood gazebo.
I was lucky enough to order a 6'x8' walkin polycarbonate over aluminium framed green house, so it will go up nest year when we have a concrete patio poured, and will have a vestibule built to bridge the bonus room and the greenhouse. It was CHEAP as a close out end of season non-seller. Wonder why? all it needs to be more stable for year round use is extra clips to hold the panels in place. You cna order those. I also bought wood teak floor pannels for it, so water wont be underfoot all the time. I will have it plumbed for water to use after freezing point, OR will heat tape it.
RELATIONSHIP:
For those of you have solid, loving, "perfect" marriages, skip this part, those, who can tolerate "other" relationship status-es, can read on. I have agreed to wait a year before filing for divorce. MOH {My Other Half} thinks it will chnange my mind, nad MOH HAS been better as FAR AS I CAN TELL, aobut "things", shall we say? BUt I have reached the point where I DON'T CAR ANYMORE. 16 years together or not, I am ready to cut my losses and RUN. I DO have, nad HAVE HAD for a while, now, another significant Other, which actually is with MOH's blessing {"at least you have that as an outlet"} as MOH has firmly declared "I DON'T WNAT TO {uh, ahem } HAVE RELATIONS with you anymore". That ends THAT inour relationship, nad I have no love any longer for MOH, so I DON'T Want to stay in a loveless, {uh, ahem} "non interpersonal" relationship {to keep it clean} MARRIAGE. That is why I have someon{s} on the side. I am "playing the field" as it were, but have had a steady significant. other {SO} now for about a year. WITH MOH's approval. This SO is a NYC person, is involved in the city with an OH, who also knows aobut us,nad so I see this SO every other month when this SO leaves the city. SO, LIKE MR. B, I have "other interests", shall we say. Those who condemn US, need to hjave walked the years we have spent in our present marriages to understand. MOH has been unfaithful and cheating since 2005, got caught in a very bad way in 2006, and it has been downhill since. I thought MOH woudl "go sow some wild oats" and come home to roost. NOT THE CASE. SO, 1.5 years ago, I put up dating profiles, WITH MOH's BLESSING, nad that is how I found my OTHER {NYC} SO. I have a semi-local SO also, who right now is bogged down with heavy OT at work, so I don't see much of at the moment, but WAS seeing as well as MY NYC SO. I have made some friends with otheres, who knows where it will lead. I have changed the profiles from "open relationship" to "seeking new LTR {Long Term Relationship}. MY NYC SO was to come up for my birhtday {the 25th of last month}, but came down with resiratory infection, so I will see the end of this month, befroe my surgery. When we are together, it is *magic*, when apart, we text and send text pics all the time, every day, multiple times a day. If my SO wasn't such a CITY person, AND I sucha COUNTRY person, and neither of us had the OH's we do, we MIHGT be together.....permenantly. SO THAT is where the marriage stands.IF , and thats a BIG IF I stay, it will be for CONVENIENCE only. MOH has dropped out of marriage counseling all together., and has stopped going to my mental health therapist witrh me, and when tried again, left the room saying "everyhting is my fault", and walked out, running aweay, like MOH does ALL THe time. MOH CLAIMS "I want this marriage to work", BUT two things: first MOH LEFT THE marriage YEARS AGO, and second, MOH wants TO MAKE NO CHANGES in behavior, and wants to "continue as we were, I thought we had a good thing"......UH NO. NO. NO. WE DIDN't...MOH HAD agreat thing, haveing cake and eating it too, so MOH THOUGHT> until I refused to put up wiht it anymore. Now those of you reading, amy since since i have MY 'concubines" too, I am no better than MOH, true, MAYBE< but I didn't start cheating, sneaking aroudn and LYING about it 11 years ago. I optioned MY things, here with teh understanding of "open relationship" MOH decided on wanting, BUT ONLY so MOH could cheat, MOH NEVER THOUGHT it would work TWO WAYS, ONCE I put up my profiles actively seeking "other options", especially WHEN I GET MORE contacts than MOH does now. Hee HEe. MOH wnated "open relationship" staus as blanket permission to go [ou know hwat] otheres, BUT NOT FOR ME TO DO IT TOO. HA! Needless, to say, if we boht have othere interests, it doens't make much sense to save whatgever it is we have left. AS I siad, IF i stay, ti will be cfor CONVENIENCE and maybe COMFORT. 16 years have wastged the better years of my life. i will never get tehm back, and SHOULD have left MOH in 2006 when MOH got caught.
NOTICE: I ALWAYS refer to MOH as "My Other Half", NOT "MY Better Half", as even wihtout the cheating and other SOs, NEIHTER ONE OF US IS BETTER THAN THE OTHER/.
well that aobut updates you.
TRAINS:
I found and organized the boxes of trians and trian stuff.Aobut 30 of them of all sizes. They are now organized on shelves, ready to be accessed when I get teh time nad inclination to start a new layout. That is hte most I have done wiht tehm since we moved.!
Hope all is well wiht y'all, and those who experienced losses heal, and those with medical problems heal as well.
DOn't knwo when I will next be on.
Oh...I think I read... CAN someone tell me {nicely} did ULRICH really get banned? I COULD ask him directly if I searched for his direct email addy. Or called him. I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
Just a question tonight fellas, I'm trying to save some frustration in deciding what I should replace my old HP. printer copier with.
It has gotten quite tired and I would like to replace it with one that I could print some decals on. I know there has been alot of talk here over the years but didn't seem to be much of a concensus on the subjet.
Could some of you make a suggestion to me what brand and possible model I should be looking at. Hopefully not to fancy, but one that will do the job fairly well in printing, copying and decal making. I don't want to start another thread on the subject, just need a few informed answers.
I await your informed replies.
Great to see that Galaxy is still on top of the grass as well. I would go absolutley nuts if I had his problems.
Galaxy, Ulrich, I believe got banned for a short while but he isn't now. He is just on a bit of a health sabbitical. You have remained in our thoughts and prayers, hope those health issues really improve for you. Then you can handle the rest more appropriately.
Moonboy, you are right, the weather here right now is really shi__y. quite chilly, right around freezing and snow freezing rain for several days now and forcast to continue into the week-end. Glad you got out of the North when you did. How good/bad was the rice harvest this year?
Garry, did you cancel your Florida trip on account of the storm? Hope Alvie is OK.
Will try to get back in on the week-end, while at work.

Morning all. Oreo cheesecake for breakfast sounds wonderful
I've got an epson printer/scanner/fax. It does the job of printing LEGIBLE WONDERFUL DECALS, but man it eats ink like crazy. I've heard good things about canon printers. Hope that helps you logger.
I donf like to talk about it much online( or to many but my closest friends), but the thing that has been going on in my life that has been keeping me from posting here has been well- a string of stuff going on my life that has been beating me down.
Work has been stress inducing, you know how that goes when they keep burning through employees and can barely find anyone to take their spot. then the ones who do a no call no show.
I've also been burned quite recently in the battle called "love". I was seriously talking to a girl for a few months, and we were perfect for each other. It had gotten to being unofficially dating. We went out for the first time in the real world, and I thought it went well enough. We went out for coffee and we're together for about 3-4 hours just enjoying each other's company. Well the next day when I tried to set up another date, she sent me an email basically saying "I don't think it's gonn work between us, I'm sorry. I had fun, but it was just too awkward". its been a few weeks, but I still hurt from that badly. to just sum it up, it was another hit for someone who hasn't been blessed in the romance department.
Health- besides the asthma, I can't complain besides a couple panic attacks.
The only thing that's been keeping me sane, has been model railroading and my MR club. Plus I got "commissioned" to do a paint project for a buddy- former SD45 (SD40-3) for the short line Allegheny Valley railroad, more decals custom printed at home. Btw, MAKE SURE YOU DOUBLE MEASURE EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU PRINT! I found that out the hard way
im looking to finally start learning to solder( friend ordered a bunch of stuff for me to start learning, i just need to pay him back when it all comes in from China). thisll be fun.
ive been watching the hurricane as well- I just hope everyone in the path of the storm will have secured their house the best possible, and evacuated- with pets if they have them.
hope everyone as a nice day.
last mountain & eastern hogger:
Why not start a thread asking about printer recommendations? I think a lot more people would see it there rather than here in the diner. That's what the forums are for!
My HP printer has ceased to do photos properly so I'm likely going to be replacing it soon. The subject would be of great interest to me too.
Jimmy rejection is part of the process. If it didn't work for her, she was doing you a favor. Keep looking, there is someone out there for you.
Galaxy welcome back. You carpentry accomplishments are as prodigous as your future surgery schedule. In case no one warned you, rehab after shoulder surgery is tough, much tougher than ACL reconstruction.
No judgement from me on your domestic situation other than this....if the marriage lasts long enough, the judge may award the OH lifetime alimony. It happened to me, but fortunately the OH got remarried. I have a friend who also pays lifetime alimony and though he is burned out by work, he can't afford to retire and pay his ex $60K a year. Before they were married she was an OR nurse in the open heart room. She could easily make $90K but instead she is a waitress in a diner like this one.
I never saw a post from Ulrich that merited banishment. He too has more than his share of medical problems and financial problems.

PRINTERS...
Any inkjet is expensive to operate, and we have pretty much banned them from our network, and I will not support the one or two that are left.
Our standard printer is a black and white laser printer. If someone wants color they can send their work down to the big xerox color machine in the basement.
If somebody needs color in their office, they will have to get permission from the Abbot. We now have a Xerox Phaser color laser in the pottery shop. (another building over with no tunnel connecting them. So the Abbot gave him permission. I'll order a B&W printer on my own hook, but not color.
I do not buy stuff in the stores. I inspect them at Tiger Direct, Newegg, etc, I read the specs, download manuals etc. before I make a decission. I also compare the cost of the supplies (toner).
Typicaly I use Lexmark B&W equipment and Xerox Color Equipment.
I've printed decals on the color laser printer here at work, but as a high-volume commercial unit, it's probably out of the range of most hobbyists. Walthers, VitaCal, Testor, and others make decal paper that will work on almost any inkjet printer. But for finely detailed work, I would take my documents to a Kinko's or Office Depot or the like to be printed on their laser printers. As long as they treat the decal paper like heavy glossy photo paper, and afterward you spray it with Dullcote, it should work fine.
Pro tip: If you'd like to print directly on clear material for business window signs, be sure you use acetate made specifically for use in laser printers, NOT clear styrene. Don't ask me how I know.

Mornin........ Ah..... hmmmm. Ahem! Afternoon folks!
Ah Zoe, I see you are still here so can I get the $2 Special still? Oh, that's right, breakfast served 24 hours a day in here. Forgot about that. Well, over easy on the eggs, bacon, homefries, and a double order... What? Yes, the sour dough bread toasted. How did you know? Oh, don't forget the.... My Seneca Lake Blend Organic, Fair Traded, Dark Roast coffee is already made. You're good!

Steven!
Galaxy!, good to see you sir. You sure do have a busy life and lots of "stuff" to deal with. I was worrying that you had completely departed the diner. Glad you stopped in!
Sun is busy shining today here in the Finger Lakes region. Doesn't look like Matthew will trek inland to be any problem here (Last one that did was Agnes back in '72! That one made a real mess in the Southern Tier where I was living at the time!). One of the earlier models for Matthew showed it coming inland and heading for where I live. My sister, in Florida is right in the danger area though, so say a prayer for her and her family down there please.
Don't think I mentioned that September did break the Solar Panels record for September by about 15kWh and it now looks very good that this year will be the best for production I have had yet. Of course I have used way more electric this year with the air conditioner running 24 hours a day most of the time due to the horribly hot and dry summer we had. The lawn is now making up for lost time! Had .75" of rain in the last 2 weeks. Beans, peppers, and fall snow peas are growing like mad right now in the garden....
Have a great day out there, and those in Matthew's Path, stay safe!!!

We'll get there sooner or later!
Morning all (at least in my time zone). Flo, could I get an omlette with chicken and pepperjack cheese with some wheat toast? Thank you so much.
Got one for my friends. What would be the best method for replicating the weatherin shown on the flat car shown here? My best guess would be a 2 to 3 parts grimy black paint to 10 parts oily black. Just enough to dirty up the car, but not enought to completely obscure the lettering. I don't trust myself with chalks or anything like that. I am much better with paints.
If someone has any better ideas, feel free to contribute.
Howdy... ...
We definately are postponing the FL trip. Airline will let us use the money for later flights without assessing penalties. If flight is cancelled, we will get a full refund.
Alvie... I hope you are safe in FL.
Ink jet printers, of course, need new cartridges when ink has been depleted. The price for a set of them may be higher than the price for a new printer. I don't like that.
Lion ... Good idea to use just black & white printers to save costs.
Have a great day.
Back when I was in business and going through a lot of ink and toner in my printers (both ink-jet and laser), I started getting refilled and remanufactured ones at about 1/3 the best price I could find anywhere else here.
I am not associated with the place in any way except being a very satisfied customer for many years. Only printer that their cartridges haven't worked perfectly in was an HP that somehow knew they weren't from HP and kept telling every time I printed a page that they aren't original ones from HP and to use them would end my warranty on the printer because, you know they weren't making $$$$ on them! Needless to say I no longer use anything from HP and never will again!!! I use Canon Printers now and still do a lot of printing for various groups. No where near what I did in the music business, but....
