Afternoon folks...

Chloe, I'll have a Reubin Sandwich with the obligatory dill pickle, potato chips, and a pot of decaf to warm me up...

Already been out do'in stuff today.  Was going to drive over to Seneca Falls to the Country Max Store to try to buy a birdhouse kit for Granddaughter #2' birthday tomorrow and then go directly to the fieldhouse for my walk....  Right, like that worked out well!  Country Max didn't have the Birdhouse Kit in stock, but they found one for me in Palmyra, NY.  I thought about it for a bit and since I already have to drive most of the way to Palmyra today to get a signature for a Boy Scout new leader application and drive to Newark for that, I had them put the Bird House asside for me.  With that in mind and a long list of other stuff I absolutely need to get done today I didn't stop at the Fieldhouse.  I will try to get in a walk tomorrow before the Birthday Party...  Have no idea what time it will be, only that there is one in the morning for her someplace with her friends and classmates and then a later one for family.

Barry, WOW!  What is the old saying...  "If it weren't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all...."  Hope that gets beat back real quick!!!

Catch you all later!

Good morning!  Drab and gray here, too, with some light snow but nothing is accumulating.  I seriously think that side of winter is over for us.  It will be in the 60s here next week, with no snow predicted.

Ken, my wife's not a hoarder, but she's certainly collected enough stuff.  She likes to decorate, and in her years as an art teacher she's piled up an awful lot of art supplies.  I've reached the point where I will not clean up my workroom or even my office, because her idea of "organizing" is to move her stuff into any vacant space she can find, and then collect more stuff.

We used to know a guy in town who was far worse.  He worked for Goodwill or the Salvation Army or some group like that who would refurbish furniture and appliances.  "Garbage picking" is technically illegal here, but he actually had a permit to do just that.  It sounds like a good thing, but he didn't just find used, serviceable items to be recycled.  If Goodwill didn't want it, he took it home himself.  His house was full of broken toasters and lamps.  His yard was full of old furniture under tarps, junk cars and even an old school bus.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

Good morning ..... Happy Soldiers Day ! ... Get it? March Fourth (Forth). .. Whistling Rim shot ! ........ Oh never mind.

Henry ... Nice photo of the eagles nest. ... I took the pictures below from our house a few years ago. Eagles used to sit in a dead tree on our property. Eventually, storms knocked down the old tree, and now we don't see the eagles as often.

Ulrich ... Your layout is prgressing very nicely. It is good we have doctors to solve our medical problems, but sometimes their tests are not fun.

Have a great day, everybody !

Good Afternoon!

After a bright and sunny start, the day has turned into a dull and grey one again. Still no sign of Spring Crying

I had my meeting with the ticker doc and his vampires this morning. They ran their entire rather sadistic program with me, including drawing a gallon of my blood from my veins. The results will be available by Monday afternoon. I don´t know whether I am feeling better or not.

Here I sit, fat and dumb, contemplating life ...

Oh no! Stop the press!

When I came home there was a parcel containing some of the scenic stuff I ordered a week ago - just a rattle can of paint and two small bag of WS Fine Turf - "Weeds" and Yellow Grass". I sprinkled some of that schtuff over the existing green and sprayed the lot with my home brewed scenic cement - a mixture of white glue, detergent and water. While that was drying, I coverec the layout in a cut-up plastc bag with only those blue-green fir trees looking out. I sprayed them with Tamiya`s Drab Olive from the rattle can, followed by a generous spray coat with my brew and more trhan just a sprinkle of WS Blended Turf. The trees look much better, the blueish hue is gone, and they have a better texture.

There is an order of more fir trees on its way, but that will be it for a while, as I have already spent the April budget.

Ken - MBH (my better half) is just the other way around. Everything has to be neat and tidy 24/7. The whole apartment gets dusted & vacuumed daily, the kitchen is immediately cleaned up after each meal. You won´t find anything just laying around without a purpose. As much as I like things neat and tidy, there are times when I can´t avoid messing thisngs up. This is when I get "the look" and I tell ya, you don´t want that!

Talking of "the look" - I earned it today. The paint was rather smelly ... Whistling

OK, that´s all for now - I´ll hide out in the backbooth!

Coffee and granola Zoe, I stood on the scale this morning.  No donuts for a while.

Nothing much to report.  Wifey saw the cardiologist and he didn't think her neck pain was cardiac.

On the train front, waiting for alcohol to take off the remaining paint on the caboose.  I may get out the ultrasonic cleaner if there is still bits of blue stuck on it.

34 degrees and 2" of a heavy snow, sticks to every twig and branch but not to the sidewalk or street.  That doesn't keep them from wrecking on the Beltway.

Evening Diners,

[quote cudaken/]

I am sick of living like this! Crap every where, boxes in the dinning room, boxes in the laundry room, boxes in the family room. All of the closet's are full with her stuff, second bedroom is full of boxes to the point you cannot walk in there! Dresser is full all but one drawer that has by socks and underware in it! My clothes hang on the back of doors and doorway molding!

Hey Ken you also described my house! It hasn't been clean for almost 30 years. Is yours longer?

For the past week I been naming my city Ephraim for the Conrail layout. Problem is I been forgetting how to pronoun it correctly half the time. Remembering the actress' name doesn't help neither. I was wondering/thinking of renaming it for easy pronunciation, or just suck it up.

 Evening Dinners

 Flo, Beer please.

Just running today, nothing done in the yard.

Train Front Only thing I got done today was speed matching my PK 1000 UP F-3's. I installed a Digitrax DH 166 in the A unit and had to speed match my B unit that has a DH 123. While the two engines run well with each other now, the A unit with the DH 166 is huming? Could it be the decoder?

YGW I am old, should have said your ECM is not working right, not a slipped timing belt. Sent you a PM that is very short, soory. I was having problems with the computer and the wife at the same time! I had to reboot the computer, I wish I could reboot my wife! Bang Head

My wife is a Hoarder! I am sick of living like this! Crap every where, boxes in the dinning room, boxes in the laundry room, boxes in the family room. My clothes hang on the back of doors and doorway molding!

Whie not as bad as seen on TV, it is heading that way. I swear if we had a 4000 sq foot house and I gave her money she could fill it up! Guess it is time to seek some help for us.

Good afternoon all.

We cut our ski trip short.  It's either been rainy or very cold and windy, and what they say is snow looks more like a skating rink in spots.  I've also still got a cold, so I'm not missing a thing by not being in Maine the rest of this week.

Mornin' evneryone!

Zoe, Just need a refill for my Seneca Lake Blend Dark Roast coffee, please and thank you!

Sun has finally decide to show up here at noon time...  I've been over to the place where I was fitted for my CPAP to have them download the data and send it to my ENT Doc for my appt. next Wednesday.  I saw an ad for a new type of head gear that can be used with my nasal pillows and asked the Office Clerk about it.  She sat down and pulled it up on the computer, looks at me and said, "What kind of mask do you use".  I told her I use the nassal pillows because I don't want to have top shave off my beard.  Then added, it covers up the third chin!  I thought she was never going to catch her breath........She is a very pleasant and cute lady...

Have a dentist appt. early this afternoon to replace a crown that covers three teeth.  Well one of the teeth (middle) is missing, and that is why it covers three places.  She says the crown doesn't fit well and food can get caught between the teeth so she wants to do a new one.  Her specialty is major teeth replacement and crowns and stuff.  I think she will be doing it.  Her husband is my usual dentist.  Their son is a member of my old Boy Scout Troop (where I was Scoutmaster and later committee Chair).

Finally got all the art and poetry back to the schools yesterday so I have my Dining Room table back to be used for other stuff now.  Have a bunch of other items to get done today before I head over for the Handicapped Troop meeting tonight.

(edit)  Ulrich, hope all goes well!  Keeping you in my prayers Sir....

Catch you all later!

If you get into 3 rail O gauge you'll never have to worry about grab irons again.

Sunny, unseasonably warm, haven't seen the TV forcast yet.

With me and grab irons I would still replace them, lol!!!!

Flo  Strawberry shortcake please

YGW Some else must have said something about cats, but speaking of 6 shooter, the TSA in the Baltimore airport seized some woman's 6 shooter spike high heels.  They looked like the front end of Roy Roger colt 45 for heels.

The caboose is an Athearn I think.  So far alcohol isn't touching the rustoleum primer, which if ok with me.

Took the wifey to the cardiologist today and he didn't think her chest discomfort was cardiac.  She gets a stress test next week, but it seems unlikely she will join the steady stream to the hospital we have going on here.

My wife's Dad passed opening weekend of deer season, back in November.

Her Mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last Friday. Not good outlook.

My close buddy shot himself and his wife in January. Their son was up this week to close up house, etc. Seems to be doing ok.

WOW! And I thought WE were doing bad.

Angel for the passing of your FIL.

Angel Prayers for the cancer..who WILL be a survivor...

Sorry to hear that about your buddy. If you missed it, our best friend's {and a train nut too} 24 y/o son hanged himself a month ago. Urg the son to get some help and support groups, he may SEEm "OK" now, but may later have it hit him.....like it has my train nut friend {BFF-Best Friend Forever}....

this year and the tail of last year has NOT been kind to many of us..

Angel for those IN or GOING to the horse piddle.

I am in my 11th week of fighting pneumonia! do you believe it?? I can't and I am the one drowing in my fluid...I THINK i am gaining on it, though...time will tell.

it will be in the 60's near to 70s next week, WOOHOO! I have said that with the MILD winter we've had, it will be a LONG HOT DRY SUMMER this year....I HOPE I am wrong...

Hi! 24f and clouds.

Looks like lotsa good news compared to not so good! Good luck everyone!

 My update:

My wife's Dad passed opening weekend of deer season, back in November.

Her Mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last Friday. Not good outlook.

My close buddy shot himself and his wife in January. Their son was up this week to close up house, etc. Seems to be doing ok.

That's the crappy stuff.

 The good Stuff:

Number one Grandson's Hockey team, Peewee A, Rated #1 in the state of Minnesota, Plays in the State tourny this weekend!! Go Polar Devils!

It's a blend of 3 VERY small hockey programs. There were 45 players that tried out for 15 spots last fall. When I coached ,years ago when my kids played in a bigger district, I had  maybe 125-175 kids trying out for 20 spots!

 Mister B would understand this!!

So, Go Polar Devils!!!

TrainFront is very good. Got my order from the not-so -local HS. F-7 diaphraghms; replacement Athearn engine wheelsets ;etc. Trains are running great, but nobody is here but me! HAHA!

Hope everyone who's hurting gets better and those that aren't are grateful!!!!

 Afternoon Dinners

Flo, Beer please and one for YGW

Boy I am beat. It was a sunny day, no running that could not waite, so I spent 3 hours working in the back yard. I made around 30 trips to the front hualing out stuff that my SIL cut down a few months ago. What took me so long was when Shawn cut the stuff down, that was all he was thinking about. He has never hauled stuff out to the front.

When I cut stuff down I pile all of the trunk section in the same way. I have to haul stuff out trunk first to get it out the gate. Plus the city wants all of the trunks toward the street for pick up. Shawn had them every witch way and it took way longer to get them untangled. But, he sure was a big help!

YGW Good talking to you today. Sorry to hear about the slipped timing belt. Now I have a better idea what you are looking for. I will try to call you while I am K-10 Model trains Thursday.

 See you all later.
