Evenin' folks!

Chloe, I'll have a hot chicken sandwich, french fries, a garden salad with blue cheese dressing, and a cup of decaf, please...

 Garry, well said!

 Barry, can't come up with an H16-44, but I know where there is an Fairbanks Morse H12-44

I brought Claude back home to my sister's house early this afternoon.  I guess after the first day or so he settled in and was a good kitty while being boarded.  Got him in the house and Clim was in the Living Room.  He bolted down cellar while I let Claude out.  Claude took off and went exploring trying to find my sister. them went out to the kitchen looking for food.  I gave him ther half a can of cat food that was left over from yesterday and he started to wolf it down.  As soon as Clim heard the refrigerator door open he knew food was in the offing so he came part way up the stairs from the basement.  he saw Claude and got wide eyed, then looked at me and then back to Claude several times.  Then he came right up and got his face into the bowl with the food.  Claude decided he needed to go exploring again...

After Clim finished off the rest of the can food, he comes over to me and rubs against my pant leg.  I leaned down and he let me pet him.  I went in the living room and sat in my sisters reading chair and he came over and rubbed against my leg again.  He let me pet him for about 45 minutes.  I know he was thanking me for bringing his best buddy back home!  We are now officially friends I guess.  He is a very sweet kitty and it is nice he has finally accepted me again.  This is Clim:

And , I don't want to leave out Claude:

Got to go load the woodstove so we can keep warm...

Later!

Ken.. love that 68 Charger with those colors and top.  The lines of that car look fast.. just sitting there. Maybe its the painted 'Front hood' I like.~
Inch 53.. Thanks.. and thought I'd share some pics with ya too.
YouGottawanta.. lol. "Keith - Geeze did you scratch a hole in your face ?"

   .. lol.. no.. If I remember correctly.. I used words.. like Molar.. and Wisdom.. but I'm really not sure.  I'll tell ya this much.. both were connected together.. and so when he pulled.. well he was pulling two at the same time.  Surely many would have suggested to the Dentist to just straddle you and the chair to get a better grip. But thats how much it hurt.. and the hole it left.  But it does give good reason why I told my wife I could no longer talk on the phone.  I'm sure my wife thought I was merely in a state of panic. I told her about what you said 'it wearing off'~

  OK.. for those that remember the Laser Art wood kit.. yellow house.. with white stripes?  Well forget it.  Went and had some fun with color.  And put together another type of house. Thought I'd share.

  Using Red spray paint with yellow on top.  With the intentions of only misting the area with color.

At some point.. I stopped.

Its important to know when to stop.

I did want a lighter color, but in the in end I came up with this color and was quite satisfied.

Hello again.

Mr. B ... Congrats on retiring soon.

Regarding the Diner, I would like to see model railroading included in the conversations as much as you can. Tell us what you are doing with model railroading as you tell about other stuff. Sometimes, we are "armchair model railroaders" for various reasons, and that is fine too. Keep the friendships going of course. If you are not in agreement with another forum member, I urge you to politely resolve via PM's to avoid any future conflicts in this public forum.

Again, Kalmabach owns the forum, and they determine the rules. Review the rules from time to time. Enough said about that.

............

Regarding my model railroading. Lately, I have been trying to refresh my knowledge of photography so I can improve my model railroad photos. I should have a better camera, but that is not in my budget now. There is a good website on this topic by "railphotog" (Bob Boudreau) who particpates in the MR forum.

https://sites.google.com/site/railphotog/

Also on my layout, I ran trains this morning. Always fun to do that.

Anybody have model railroad plans coming up?

Good morning..still morning? well, ya, barely...

Missed the morning blowout as we had no scraper for MOH's car, and it had a "wintery mix" on it. SO I had to head out very early to Wally world to get one for MOH, as it will be needed with the coming weather, and MOH out in it driving frequently for work. It bothers me mroe this time of year that MOH is out in nasty weather..and has no choice but to drive clients around. That is the j-o-b. Of course, I worry about MOH and it was I, who, on the way to a Drs. appt. got rearended.

For those who made any comment at all for any reason on any topic, you are just as guilty as any one you think may be guilty of anything. Just a friendly reminder before one points a finger, one should always look at oneself first, no matter what the situation. All of us included. My grandmother used to tell me that...But I'll take the heat.

~I'll bet it is cold in Jeffrey's part of the world, hope he had someone to turn on the heat at his place, the last thing he needs is a frozen pipe!

~Mr. B: congrats on the officially unofficial officially official retirement! May it bring you great joy! May you have time to work on trains! MAY you find you actually have LESS "free' time as you will find very quickly a "person with unlimited free time" rarely has any! For a person who "has nothing to do"{according to some people} I have very little "off" time! BUT: being busy beats the old couch potato routine with NOTHING to actually do!

~I will wrap up some presents for the gemeinschaft {Social relations based on personal ties, affection, kinship, etc} {{There is YOU WORD FOR THE DAY}}. Ulrich would be so proud....

~Speaking of Ulrich, wonder where he has gone off to? The hospital?? WIsh Pertra knew English well enough to pop in and tell us a thing or two when he goes off to the hospital.

~I'd best leave out "prayers for {anyone}" from now on.... we had all best do so, as it IS of a "religious nature".....

So:

HEALING THOUGHTS and

ENERGIES For those

in need!

{I don't think anyone can be offended by that....I could be worng, i have been wrong before and will be wrong again, I am sure of it!}

MAKE it a GREAT day {though it may be miserable where you are}

Here I sit, fat, dumb, and happy....

"Avram: (gestures at Perchik and Mordcha) He's right, and he's right? They can't both be right.

Tevye: You know... you are also right."

I see the Moderation has begun.  Methinks a good thing!

Zoe, I'll have a short stack of Blueberry Pancakes with real NYS Maple Syrup.  Oh, a large pot of Dark Roast Coffee to keep my FLGK mug full would be excellent as well.

Everything is white outside this morning.  I am about ready to head to Canandaigua (hope the roads have been sanded) to rescue little Claude from the vet place.  I bet he will be very glad to get home, and that Clim will be very happy to see him.

Be well my friends!

I don't care if this is the designated "off-topic" thread. I don't care if your faith has been insulted or your First Amendment rights have been violated or if you have any other reason why you feel entitled to get in the last word. Any more discussion of religiously divisive topics in violation of this Forum's rules will result in PERMANENT BANS. Do I make myself clear?! Angry

OK, then, it's official.  I'm outta here!

No, not outta here, The Diner.  Outta here, work.  I just called HR and gave them the date, January 5th.  Turns out it's not really officially official until they send my first pension check, but for now this is as official as it gets.

With accumulated vacation and our end-of-year shutdown, I have, after today, 16 more work days, including 4 Mondays.

Saturday, I'm buying wood to expand my layout.

But, last night Penny and I also offically kicked off the ski season, by going to this year's Warren Miller movie.  He makes one glorious ski movie a year, typically outrageously good skiers taking helicopters to places where no sane Yeti would go.  It got a whole auditorium full of people psyched last night.

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

Hello! All,

Nice cars KEN. Do You want to run for pink slips...against My 64 Fairlane ''Thunderbolt'', it only has 600 + horsey's. If You frequented the drag strips, You'll know what I am talking about. Gary Diear Dodge was about the only one to come close. Even Don Nicholson switched from Chevy to Merc. Comets. Memories.

A pic' of My ''sleeper''. sold it two year's ago. A 54 Ford 4-door OHV Police Interceptor 256 cube 4-barrel 3 on the tree/with overdrive, 411 posi. rear..HP exhaust. Everyone thought it was just a plain 4-door, until you got on it and laid two thick strips of rubber and went bye,bye. LOL.

Take Care! Big Smile

 Eveing Dinners

 Flo, wake up! I like a Beer Please

 While today as a whole was pretty uneventul I did have one big surprise! Around 12:30 PM Marv, the owner walked into the store! Reason it was a surprise in the year and a half I have worked there he has never came to this store! He told me later he had not been to this store for 10 years! He all so walk into a storage area think it was the bathroom. Whistling

 YGW I have never owened a 68 Charger, but I have done 3 of them. My first Charger was a 1970, my red one is a 1969. I have owned to 69 Chargers. My first one I sold so I could buy my 1970 Cuda. Now my 68 Road Runner, I got it from Mom and Dad when I was 17 and I still have her.

 Here is my 69 Charger with Allen 68 Charger at a local car show.

WEll:

~we put  the extra plastic on the porch, nice day to do it, not windy that is.

~we took out the MB A/c so that window is all storm-windowed up now.

~ went to the Mall and MOH found a cross {Been wanting one for a long time} at the jewelry store where the  "niece" works. I told of what we are getting the god-great nephews for Xmas. Unfortuantely for ME, it is well over $200 and is the ONLY one MOH wanted after viewing cheaper ones elsewhere...i almost got the pouty-sticky-outy-lower-lippy thingy! I HAVE to get that one now or else I will never hear the end of it! Just like the gas over electric stove!

~came home and put the plastic over the kit. window, sealed up the LR a/c window and taped the plastic over the computer room window. All that remains is the door weatherstripping replacement... Then we are "buttoned up" for teh cold winter ahead.

~ i gave the "neice" a hint of what santa may be bringing the "great nephews" at grandpop's house {our close friends, like family, hence the reason they are as called by the "family" to us}. She was quite surprised, but it should keep the little 5 year old "busy" for at least 5 minutes! Last year we got him TRAINS....This year learning/fun and games to play at grandpops....what for next year? Duunno...

~the "great nephew" has a NEW baby bro to contend with now, and is naturally NOT happy about all the attention the baby gets or requires from Mom and Dad! SO we are TRYING to make it a "good Xmas" for him! The trains require supervision, the Leap pad won't so much, nor will the "constructive materials" {paper, markers and such....} all of whihc he doesn't really have at grandpops. He thinks being at grandpops is "boring" Whistling

~Our other friend is, uh, having domestic problems-PRAYERS FOR HIM and his family too, Please~as it may have very disasterous results!

well, that should wrap it up for today.

seee you in the early of the A of M !Zzz

Evenin' Folks!

Janie, just a refill for the decaf please....

Crisp day outside!  Currently 37°F outside.  The high today was 39°F sometime when i wasn't looking...  Low will be around 34°F overnight and we shall see some, ah....., I think they call them Flurries.

Sound system was back working the way it should at church this morning.  Helps to have all the amps up and running.....

After church I grabbed a quick lunch and headed up to Canandaigua to take care of Clim the cat.  He came up stairs and froze in a 'flight or fight' pose as soon as he saw me standing there.  I put his food down for him and stepped back a couple stepps.  Ha gave me the "I don't trust you" stare but then gingerly went to his dish and ate.  Every couple of seconds, he would quick look at me to make sure I was keeping my distance.  After he ate he stood at the doorway to the basement for a bit, and I put my hand down to see if he would come to me.  He took a couple steps toward me and sniffed my hand and then bolted half way down the cellar steps....  At least I know he is OK.  He did stay on the steps and meow at me.  I would think he is lonely and wants to know where his friend Claude and his human are.  I bring Claude home from the Vet tomorrow around noon time.  I bet they will both be glad to see each other.

I am beginnig to get worried about Ulrich!  Do hope he is OK....

 Jeremy don't be taking any chances with chest pain and shortness of breath!  Go get yourself checked out...

Have to make a phone call, so I best get moving.  Catch you all later!

Jeremy - hope the fatigue is from over work not heart issues. Good to see you again.

Keith - Geeze did you scratch a hole in your face ? I was told by my dentist the itch came from the pain meds wearing off.

Ken - good to hear work front is doing better and Most of all that Sparkie is doing better. SWEET That is one beautiful "68" ! My first car was a "68" charger. Loved that car. Still do. Sorry ex wife forged my name and sold it for a $1000 ! If I knew she would run off aI would have ended the pain right then and there.

Frank - Thanks, I will look. How expensive are those thing ?

Prayers fro Jeff and Ulrich. Has anyone heard from them today ?

Frank.. what a Sweet car.. no not Sweet.. no no not Choice.. here in SoCal we'd say.. 'Primo'  and that pretty much says it all.  That style.. you either love it or not.  I happen to love it.. I've always felt.. it was 'Aero-dynamic'  I love those words.. lol.  One look at your car Frank.. the first thing that came to mind was.. lots of room in those cars. Some of the old cars.. had plenty of room in the backseat.  BTW.. I love those pipes.

YouGotta.."LOL ! Dentist foot on your chest !? How bad after words did it hurt ?" It hurt fairly bad.. but not too much...the reason why it didn't .. the Dentist shot me up again.. towards the end of my visit.
When I got home.. I was talking to my wife.. and the whole side of my face went numb.  I couldn't even talk.  A terrrible itch came up on my cheek, and the whole face felt strange.  Couldn't satisfy the itch either. Up until 2-3 days ago.. there was a big hole in my jaw.. it finally sealed over.
  Ken.. everytime I see one of those cars of yours.. two things come to mind. 1. If you told me you've had several of these cars where the lugs off the axial were sheared off because of brute strength... I'd believe ya.

2.  I remember those years.. come September.. the Sunday newspaper would  show you all the new cars coming out next year.  The Fastback models were in ~ I'd spend hours going over all the new cars and the specs.

  Now in 'All Fairness' Scratch built.. verses Hobby store kits.  I think its only fair to show both sides.

1.  Scratch builds take time.  You do run the risks of cutting yourself badly.  In which I have. I remember the time.. when my wife comes home... she sees me sitting there starring at my thumb.

She asks what am I doing?  "Hon.. I'm concentrating on my thumb to stop bleeding. I'm elevating it.. and just letting it sit there healing"

She replies.."Ah you can't even see it."

So I take a look.. touch it.. and blood comes gushing.

With Kits .. they can be less time consuming.  At times.. pretty easy.  Take a look.. I take a spray can and start to spray.  Once the parts are dried.. I sit down and can watch a movie and put these babies together.  Peal and Stick on the back sides of the parts.. how easy.  On a small note.. some up us grew up when there was no glue to be found.. and most cardboard stuff came in 'Attach Tab A ... to Slot B.  Oh sure paper houses.. paper dolls.. all came like that.

  OK.. so here are some pics of a Laser-Art wood building.  Easy and entertaining.. while you sit there and watch a movie.

I pin these babies down to some cardboard box.. (the box has a bow )(and keeps them from bowing / curving the wrong way) spray em all.. let them dry.. then sit down and watch a movie.  Rather fun ..really.

 Yes.. A Yellow house..with white trim.

Thats all Folks~

Take Care Keith

for those in need,:

prayers, thoughts and

healing energies!!

Good to see BARRY, for whom we send healing energies;

FOr Johnboy....out, who needs our healing energies;

For Jeffrey, who needs a double shot-one for each leg of healing energies;

For Ulrich-MIA, who might be in the hospital again, we send healing energies:

For family and friends who might need our healing enerigies;

FOr VEterans, who may have been trying to get help, we send healing energies;

FOR any animals, like Sparkie the Wonder dog, we send healing energies.

And best of all, only YOU can MAKE IT A GREAT DAY!

And only YOU can make it a great day for someone who needs one!

~Not saying you have to, just suggesting we all consider:  Its that time of year, the time for giving: Donate money or time to a charity, a food bank, a clothing collecetion for kids winter coats, for a TG or Xmas meal for the less fortunate {or to a food bank for any day}; donate your TIME to a charity sorting food, making soup kitchen meals, or diving someone to an appt. who can't...I know I do!!! Even with our tight budget, I always find a coat in good shape to donate, and I still find a few dollars to donate to vet's causes, to the charitable food agencies I have actually had to use in the past, And if when they have them, I pick up a "gift tree" item and buy it for the child asking from "santa" for it, and find it warms my heart and find it very rewarding.

now, go ahead, MAKE it a GREAT day for you and someone else!

GOOD Sunday Morning!

November 15th 2014!

Only 40 more days of

shopping till Xmas is here!*

That includes today, Xmas eve!

You have been warned!

*{Xmas IS  supposed to be a religious holiday, which is verboten,  and for those who don't celebrate it or celebrate something else instead, We honor YOU traditions as well! But I have to nod off on the fact of a lot of Xmas also being about a  fat jolly old bearded elf who rides in a sleigh pulled by magical reindeer and can dispurse presents of all kinds/sizes/weights to all "houses of good little children" in the cover of darkness for one night only!. This MAY have loose roots to real religious points, but is really pure modern Santa fantasy and didn't exist before, what, 1823 in a poem called "A Visit from Saint Nick" and an artist's rendering of such poetic views on what Santa Claus should look like? NONE of santa is connected to religion except maybe his initial conception based on Sinterklaas and St. Nicholas, a man who was very religious. I DON'T think mentioning Santa, hsopping or Xmas is in anyway violating the "no religion" clause in our files anymore than honoring veterans of political battles constitutes "political" views, also verbotten.}

Hi All,

Ain`t been in much due to the fact that I really haven`t had much to say..........I get moody this time of year with the holiday`s and such.

I went to an open house last night down in Delaware........helped a friend today with his open house.

A friend and I were talking the other day about things we would say to people and things people would say to us back in high school..........

........I remembered the first and ONLY rime someone in high school called me "four eyes".....because I wear glasses.......as it usually turn out it was some dipstick and his dork friends that has said it........I looked at they guy and said how dumb he was.......first it was the oldest thing in the book to say and also said it was "Five Eyes"........him and his friends just had a dumb look on their faces.........I pointed to my backside and said "You forgot one".  Dunce

Evenin' folks!

Janie, a cup of decaf would be great right now.

Spent most all day out at my son's house watching the granddaughters.  They are getting to a real joy to be around.  Both at a nice age.  We played a few Wii games, a couple board games, and watched a bunch of dumb TV shows.  Lets just say that the best one was Spongbob Squarepants.  Yep that bad!  Their Mom and Dad and few of their friends went and did a Seneca Lake Wine tour.  They were chauffered in a Van all day so nobody had to sign up to be the designated drunk for the day...  I think it was a birthday present for my DIL as her birthday was last week.

Been doing some page layout things that need to get done for the Region Newsletter advertising the Convention being out hosted by my Division next May.  If we miss the deadline next Friday (and it looks like we will) we will be dead in the water for the convention.  Can't seem to get everything done in a timely manner!!!  I'm not a happy man at the moment, but it is hard to yell at volunteers....  If the information gets to me in a few days, I at least will stand some chance of getting it in near the deadline.

The first car I remember in my family had to be a Ford Tudor Sedan circa 1940.  I can remember sleeping in the back seat most every time I rode in it.  There was a 1936 (I think) old Ford Pickup truck with the flathead V8 in it that sat rusting for many, many years out in the pasture back of the barn on the farm...  MyCousin and I tried (with my Dad's permission) to get it to run one summer.  Turns out the only thing that made it get parked there was one of the shift forks in the transmission had broken off.  We took the top off the transmission and found the broken fork at the bottom of the transmission case and got someone over at Don Howard Farm Equipment to weld it back together for us.  The only thing we couldn't fix was the old fuel pump which after sitting for 10 or so years had a ruptured diaphram on it.  In 1959 it was pretty much impossible for two broke kids to get a working replacement for that, so we just used a juice can to pour gasoline down into the carburator whle we drove it around the field.  Until my Father caught us that is!!!!  Huh? Yep, it is amazing I have lived this long......

Prayers for all in need!

 Evening Dinners

 Flo, Beer Please

 Work Front Sure have no idea what happen today, maybe snow makes people want to buy Mattress? I that case, Let It Snow, Let It Sonw, Let It Snow! I had a total of $3200.00 in Sales and Dave (The Idiot) had around $2000.00. Best Saturday in a long Time.

 Garry Sparkie The Rocket Dog is doing pretty good right now. He never looked sickle except when he was blowing chunks. That has been over now for some time now.

 Keith I only bulit one semi scratch bulit kit. I knew I was I Deep Stuff when I read "After All We Are Modeler's Right?" It turned out fair at the very best and was the only semi scratch bulit kit I ever bought.

 Rob Yes you can use ATF in the crank case to remove sludge. I used some in my 68 Road Runner I let sit 10 years to free up the rings. Normally I would not have done it, but 10 years of letting her sit was way to long. On something that had not been sitting I would buy a addative to remove the sludge.

 Frank Was never into the 50's cars. I only did one. It was a 1953 Packer with a 327 straight 8. Go to a Auto Zone and try to order parts for a 327 Straight 8 Flat Head! They would ask "What sizes engine?" I would tell them a 327. "It has a Chevy Engine?" No, it is a Packer Engine straight 8. "A 327 Sir is a Chevy Engine!".

 Had the same problem with the 67 Cobra Mustang I had. It was 1 of 50 made with the 427 Medium Riser. Laugh

 My self, I am a Mopar guy. Here is a friends 68 Charger I did years back.

Welp - have a question. Have a cub cadet and the drive system stopped today. Looked under the mower and there lay a plastic fan blade that looked like it got locked in place while the shaft kept spinning. Long and short is it will not move. Any suggestions on the problem ? TTYL

YGW,

Yeah! A few. First off that fan blade goes on top of the trans-axle drive pully to cool the pump/trans. Check your drive belt, did it come off, taking the fan blade with it? Is it stretched causing that to happen? Replace drive belt. If belt is ok and it still won't move, rev tractor motor some and continue to shift forward and reverse without stopping motor rev just moving shift lever. Does it moan Doing that or make any unusual sound? It could have got air trapped in the trans pump and if purging it does not work, hope you have deep pockets, cause they ain't cheap. Hopefully they can repair it

If You have the owner's manual or go on line and see if You can get a PDF for Your model and look up purging the transmission.

Hopefully You just need a new drive belt and new fan.

Good Luck! Big Smile

Frank
