Physical therapy this morning. One of the therapists had me standing between the parallel bars. Two and a half minutes this time. She said I needed to work on my balance so I stood straight, held onto one of the bars with my left hand and slapped her right shoulder with my right hand then did the same with the left hand.

That sounds so tempting to do with some of my therapists, lol!!

The doc appointments went as expected. Something else showed up.Bang HeadGrumpy Now my white cell count is waaaaayyy up and a few other things don't look right on some CT scan thins i had done last week....growl hiss spit...GrumpySoapBoxBang Head

Ray...I know that there has been something of a "loudness war" going on..everything gets squashed in the process, but hearing aids as well?Sigh

Jeffery:NO abusing the help!!! The nurses are for ogling, not slapping!

poor use of words on my part. I patted her on the shoulders. No slap was involved. Had to get another dose of Benedril last night. I have a rash on my right arm where a banana touched me. I'm highly allergic to them. Cherries are a problem too. Ingesting just a small piece of a cherry will drop my blood pressure into the basement! This happened at a hospital in Alexandria. BP nose-dived to 80\65 while my blood oxygen level dropped below 80%.  That's close to coma\fatal range. The doctor on duty treated it as aniphilactic shock and it worked! He pulled me back just in time.

Galaxy, I can kind of relate in that I am sensitive to metal, like on jewelry, that will make my skin breakout if worn for long periods of time, and if it gets sweaty (had a wrist-watch do that to me once years ago, thus I don't wear them for long.)

Dinner had been chicken Kiev and dirty rice at my parent's house. I turned out well.

For three days this week, I work one job where shifts are 6:30-10:30am and then another job from 2pm-8pm. Just had my first day at the latter, while the former I have been at for about a week. Both are human service jobs where I work with people with disabilities.

Nothing new on the model railroading front, but I did check out the November MR. I very much enjoyed seeing how Tony Koester's NKP layout has progressed since he announced it's creation in the summer of 2000.

Cheers,Alvie

Well:

Ray: in some countries they actually use pidgeon poop {for lack of better term printable here} to "tan" the hides! could be any number of things in/used/treatment/ of the leatehr if you had a leather band. I am personally one fo those your Dr. talked about...to start off with i am ALLERGIC TO GOLD. That';s right! allergic to GOLD. If I am in continuous or near continuous contact, It wILL BURN my skin! ALL GOLDSm the shiny gold colored, the silver colored "white gold" gold, the pinky "red gold"...all gold. Natrually, since it is relatively  considered "neutral", I react to other cheap metals used for watches as well. I can USE  a cheap watch, but it is the METALS in it I react to, turn green from, and my skin WILL EAT AWAY The metal!Even the "Stainless steel" one I wear now is reacting, though less than the "cheap pot metals" used on cheap watches{and some Stainless is of differing "stainless types }... AND worst of all is tha Iam a "fanatical watch wearer"...I wear my watch ALL THE time, except if I get wet...Only the shower gets it off me! I don't swim any more, or it woudl get it off me too. I even sleep in it! THE ONLY ONE I CAN WEAR {oops caps} is silver nad sterling silver, don't ask me why?

GOLD_ well, MOH would NOT believe me when I said I was Allergic to gold, and since i wore an earing anyway {a hoop, don't anymore}, MOH wanted us to wear matching gold/diamond studs for us to wear {our carved rings even match!}. I said I wouldn't be able too, it'd take about 2 weeks, but it'd burn my skin. We got White gold ones, and sure enough, two weeks to the day later I went to lay down for bed that night and the contact with the pillow set it off finally, and I screamed "get it out, get it OUT" as it was on FIRE! WHen MOH pulled it out the hole was all blistered and red! I said I TOLD YOU SO!

Jeffery:NO abusing the help!!! The nurses are for ogling, not slapping!

~well, I did some "extra" Xmas shopping, got/found some things MOH wanted, so they become Xmas Presents. I would have bought them any way, but now they become presents. One, an electric blanky, I MIGHT have to give early with the COLD weather on its way! two months is a long time to "keep MOH freezing" while waiting.

~ that and chores here was aobut the extent of my day.

~ Dinner was Chix parm. for me and parmasean encrusted/cheddar topped chix for MOH who doesn't like parm.

~ well, about time for bed, though I haven't been so ready for bed lately and have trouble sleeping...

l see yous tomorrow!

Not a problem Garry, I saw a post from V8 Vega on CTT that Barry was back and he has always been active on that one and another 3 rail forum I visit so I was excited to know he is doing better.

3 rails or 2 don't matter to me. I just run what I brung. Wink I was raised on the old Lionel and they were on the shelf and boxed up for 30+ years. My bet is if Dad was into 2 rails I would be running them. Smile The fun of the trains remains the same.

Take care.

Evenin' folks!

Jimmy, congrats on the clean bill of health.  I went to the doc today for my 6 month recheck also.  I got a clean bill of health as well!  My weight is down 2 lbs.  The doc calls it the continuing saga of the weight.  Colesteral was up a few points but still only 140, A1C was again 5.8 and the balance was right where it should be.  All other blood work, kidney function, etc was excellent.  He did see the red band on my left wrist.  Checked it out and asked me how it happened.  Told him I must have an allergy to leather or something in the leather used on watch bands and that it had happened back about 15 years ago as well.  He nodded his head and said he usually sees the same thing with a reaction  from the metals sometimes used in the metal bands.  A nurse at church told me the same thing.  He wanted to know what I was treating it with and I told the cortizone stuff I use for psoriasis.  Nodded his head and said yep!  That is what you should use...  Blood pressure was 160 over 90 when the nurse took it....!  After the doc told me about the blood work, he grabbed the cuff and took it again.  140 over 80...  he shrugged and wrote it down.  Didn't seem at all concerned.

Been doing some odds and ends for the rest of the day.  Went grocery shopping late this afternoon.  I may even do a bit of stuff down in the train rooms tonight.  Currently 50°F outside so too warm to light the wood stove.  I am melting candle wax in a double boiler on the stove.  Making some more fire starters for the stove.  Should be able to have supper and work on that project at the same time. Supper tonight will be the last of the Stuffed Peppers I made a few days ago.

Catch you all later!

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have a short stack of buttermilk pancakes, real NYS Maple Syrup, a couple sausage links, and lots and lots of dark roast coffee this morning.

Been here at the computer for an hour already sending threatening emails to people...  Well not really threatening, but more, "Get your butt in motion we are 6 months behind on advertising for the Convention and I can't do anything more until you get your job done!" kind of emails...  Actually. that one will get sent this evening if I haven't gotten a message from the guy by then.  I have been sending the, we need to finish this, need someone to do such and such, and times awasting emails out to several of the key people working the Convention next May.

I have a doctors appointment this afternoon.  Just my regular 6 month checkup.  Hoping and praying everything came back good on the blood tests a week ago.  My blood presure has been good at all the other doctors appointments I have had, so I figure it will be up 20 points on both high and low for this one.  Sun is trying to shine this morning for a change.  Need a 150 kWh of electric more this year for the total to match the first year output.  Could get a few kWh more than that.  Would be nice.

Barry, hope your doctors appt. and the tests go well and your health is improving!  Keeping you in my prayers, my friend.  I would much rather hide in the train room than in the studio...  Of course music was my profession, not my hobby....  I did love being a musician over the 48 years I was one of those.  I read an article the other day about why music sounds like crap to people (particularly musicians) who have a serious hearing loss and have the "best" hearing aids.  The hearing aids severely compress the sound enabling speech to be understood, but that same thing creates just plain noise when aplied to the already compressed recorded music...  For me even live acoustic music doesn't sound good anymore.  Makes me sad!

I'll catch you all later!

Evenin' folks!

Janie, I'll have the stuffed peppers and a garden salad with blue cheese dressing.  What?  Oh the crumbly with Italian dressing.  Could use a cup of decaf to go along with that.

Batavia Train Show was good today.  Talked to several people about the NMRA.  A bunch took 6 month emebership applications with them.  Also came hopme with a couple Refrigerated Milk cars of the right time period to use on my layout.  They are used and will need some minor work but in good shape.  Now I was 72 miles away from home at the show, and part way through the afternoon I hear someone yell "Hey Mr Howard!"  What are uyou doing here.  One of my stifents from way back when who went to school with my youngest son.  He was also a Boy Scout and at one time lived right across the street from me.  Says he is still living in Geneva.  Had his young daughter with him to check out the trains for the day!

Barry, Good to see you sir!  Sorry to hear of your health problems, but glad to see you are recovering!  I had been wondering about what had become of you.  Don't be a stranger in here...

I see my dinner is arriving, so I will catch you all later!

Italian roast coffee in a UNION PACIFIC mug, please.

Have been missing my trains lately. The layout sits in the downstairs trainroom collecting dust. Haven't had time yet to start building the additional table sections to expand it. Oh well, eventually! I do have some in a cabinet upstairs by the dining room table so at least I see a few of them daily.

Hope everyone is doing well these days.

Cheers! Cowboy Rob

Do I feel awful! Got a slight fever, too! Whenever my heart is giving me issues - that´s no big deal, but whenever I have a cold, I am really ill. I guess I will sleep on the sofa tonight, so Petra can get a good sleep.

Funny thing happened this morning. I was getting ready to leave the dining hall and I packing up my condiments [Tabasco Chipotle sauce and Heinz Tabasco ketchup] when a guy at another table said I couldn't take them, I had to leave them at the table. I turned to him and said they were my property and I can do with them as I see fit, besides he wasn't big enough to make me leave them and I told him so. Some day I should get a shirt that has a picture of of frog on it and the words 'landing zone'.

Mornin, and large irish coffee Janie, at 28 it cold out. Sunny with a high round 50 n a light breeze. Tomorrow, sunny high 57, clouds moving in late.

Had to spend $70 yesterday on a new main breaker. It’d gotten weak and kept tripping off. We’d been having electrical problems for a few days. New one fixed it. Now if to get electric company down here to fix their connections, so the light quit flickering when the wind blows

BARRY,,, good to hear your still us, hope you continue to improve.

GARRY,,, if you talk to JIM tell’m we be praying for him.

Had an empty ribbon rail train come trough yesterday and a train of empty gondolas headed back east. They’d headed west last Wed loaded with pipe. I really need to got camera out n spend a day or rail fanning. And that pair of CSX engines still sittin at Little Johns rumbling.

Could I get an irish at-go Janie, I best at get on at chores. Thoughts n praers for those in need, hope ya’ll has a gooden
