Jeff, I've been around just about 3 years and always appreciated that you are a "contributor" in many ways...moderator, commenter, helpful advisor.  Always positive and helpful, most appreciated!

I hope and pray that you do very well in meeting the newest challenge.  If anyone can, it will be you.

Best wishes in all things.

If you care to send a get well card to Jeff he will be in the hospital for several days. Maybe a week.

Jeffrey,

So sorry to hear about the new setback - but knowing you, it will be only that, a setback, from which you will give the nurses all kinds of grief, and as you wrote:

Story of my life. I keep getting up one more time than I I get knocked down and throw dirt in Murphy's face. I'm just an old arogant Indian who doesn't have the sense to quit.

You have come back from other bumps in the road, and I fully expect you'll continue messing with Mr. Murphy's plans and NOT bother quitting! Thumbs Up

Blessings and prayers for your PT and other continuing recovery,

Jim in Cape G.

Jeffrey, I poke my nose in to "lurk" at the Diner once in a while, just to see what's going on with some of the more interesting characters over there. I have always admired your fortitude. I often wonder if I would have it in me to carry on as you do. You are an inspiration to anyone that has to travel a less than smooth road.

One more thing Jeffrey, Joy is back from vacation on Friday. I hear she always is the first to sign up for sponge bath duty. I hope you are out of there by then.

Holy cow, Jeff! (stronger expressions blocked by content rules)

I'm really sorry to hear about your travails! I hope you mend fast and well.

You've been the most consistent thing about this forum since you first joined (and I know, being one of the graybeards who joined when the new car smell was still in the air!). Your presence is a very big part of the personality of the MR forums, so make sure you stick around through the hard work ahead. We'll help you (or at least provide a distraction).

Jeff,

Sorry to hear about your new health issues. I have been stuggling to think of a way to write about how important a part of the forums you are to me and so many others. Thankfully, all of the other contributors in this thread have already done so.

You sir, are a class act! I truly hope your recovery is quick, and that Mr. Murphy will realize he isn't going to win against you.

What little pull I have with the Almighty is headed your way in my thoughts and payers.

As he posted in the Diner, Jeff's left leg has been removed. his right leg was already amputated last year.

Jeff has a remarkable ability to keep a positive attitude in spite of tough problems.

I have this annoying habit of adapting and overcoming obstacles in my path.

Enjoyed my breakfast this morning while listening to 'City of New orleans'. Afterward I heard 'Play it again!‘. Talked to my father this morning. He'll be here in a day or two. He says he had a busy day at the fuel point yesterday. One vehicle in eight hours.

Whistling

Well Jeff, It is the second day of the rest of your life.  See how fast each one goes.  Before you know it you will be up chasing those nurses.

But indeed, time passes quickly and I hope your healing goes as fast and you get back to your more normal activities.

We are all praying and pulling for you, so draw on some of that also and I hope that is some comfort to you at this time.

Jeff, there really isn't anything I can possibly add or say differently but you are in my thoughts and prayers and even though you certainly didn't ask to be, a role model for facing adversity and gettin on which we can all reflect upon when our time and or tribulations come.  Hang in there and we look forward to hearing about what good things come to you down the road.  Most sincerely, Jim

Jeffrey,

You are, as many others have stated on this forum, an inspiration, both in the hobby as well as in the kind of person you are. I, as I have stated before, take great heed in your advice in this hobby. Now I can take your unspoken advice from your actions in dealing with such a very rough "bump in the road", as you might call it. I just want you to know, however, that you will be in my (daily) prayers as you travel this journey.

Take care, my friend!
