Good morning. Temp: 70°, humidity: 74%. High: 85°. Cloudy.  East winds 5 to 10 mph.

Tree #2 (two hit by lightning recently) is being dealt with at this time. It was roped in the same manner as the last one. Tied the rope to the trailer ball on my van and at the signal pulled it over like it was nothing.  It's now being cut up.

Just waiting on my Home Health nurse to call. I'm being put back on the wound vac. Reason? The surgical incision from the recent foot operation tore open and the doc believes it's the easiest way to get it to heal. Meanwhile I'm keeping the wound cleaned and wrapped.

No other plans for today.

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, could I get a refill on my dark roast coffee?

Just got home from the Podiatrist's office.  The new inserts for my shoes came in.  I now have two pairs of inserts so I won't have to keep changing them every time I want to use a different pair of shoes.  Very comfortable, I might add.

Jeffrey, hope that foot of yours gets healed up soon!  So your neighbor is getting some more back yard firewood today?  Glad to hear the tree is down and no longer presents a danger to the trailer.

Gotta make the Jello for tomorrow today....

Catch you all later!

Well,

Went to Wally world to get some things we needed. MOH needed some new shoes, a new light jacket {and trusted me to get them}, a new small heater for the bath, bath matt, sheet set of fuzzy to replace torn ones the cat clawed, etc. Added up to over $200. Will have to carefully watch the food budget to cut back the expenses for the next month to pay off this month. Good thing I get cash back on all this stuff!

Went and did the CU and Bank banking. The bank banking is free so we keep it. It is closer to our house than the CU by about 5-7 Miles too. I should open a savings account there to put money into and not take out. But they barely pay any interest, so the CU has all savings, even if only we own it temporarily.

FIL:Had an allergic reaction to something he's taking yesterday and spent most of the night in the hospital, WITHOUT notifying us! MOH did the routine "call me every morning" routine and FIL said so. MOH wanted me to call periodically today to see how hes doing. I called  I got "grumble grumble you woke me up. grumble grumble can't talk" and that was it. MOH just came home and said "at least he's responding". I told MOH YOU make the calls form now on.

I know how dangerous med allergies can be. I spent a registered  6.5 minutes clinically dead after once to sulfa drugs for me. a few years later, while in therapy and unkonwn to me the new antibiotic I was taking was also sulfa, and it started happening again. Luckily this time I got the horse-piddle {thanks, TODD} in time. 7 minutes is "danger zone" for brains. Of course once i "came back", the EMT's face was upside down {to me} I was staring at {which I thought was odd, why wasn't his face upright liek a normal person?} and he asked me "are you back with us?". I had NO idea what he meant. They asked me a bunch of "stupid" questions. I got my name and b-day right. BUt it was 1993 and they asked me who was President. I said "Jimmy Carter". They asked me what year it was, I said "1987". They asked "what High School I went to" and I said  I couldn't tell them. The asked me what state I was in. I said Michigan{where I was born} instead of NY. They asked me what country I was in. I couldn't think of or get any of the names it's known by out of my head or mouth. I asked why they were asking me all these dumb questions. They siad I must be "fairly OK", then. I now have a list of about 10 meds I am allergic to, or that "disagree with me". That call it "adverse reactions" now...

ULrich:before you invest any money in to that project, are you SURE it will give you "any joy"? You said you didn't much care for straight line short track lines with nohting to do but back and forth, if I recall correctly?

There is a property, kinda hidden, with just a driveway's access to the main road {wide about 3 cars} nearby they rest of the property is deep in behind the other short depth road properties. MOH wanted me to look it up. I already had that in mind as I saw the sigm up as I drove by on my way home, too. BUT it is NOT listed on the agent's site yet, so will have to wait or call later. It is 2 acreas, private back there, nearly landlocked, except the deceptive driveway. The former owners wanted to put in a appartment building in there, but the town wanted 2 access/departure roads. The only way to get that was to get the house on the corner, which is on two lots tied together to give up a right of way to the deep property. She was the one who told us that, and she said she flat out refused, nor would she sell off any part of her meager property to them. Now her house is listed as "pre-foreclosure" on one agent's site. SO she must be in trouble paying for  it too. It's basement flooded by 4 feet, as did many around here. MOH would dearly loved to have that hidden property and have our trialer moved there. I said we'd get a whole NEW trailer then, instead. We could could put up a cheap pole barn and insulate/heat it to build layouts in!!! Ah, well, they probably want a pretty penny for it. Don't know yet. well, septic and electric/gas line runs are not cheap either.

WEll, MOH is home between clients, so I will go join for a short nap!

And he's happy to have it! I told him if he gave me time I'd have gotten my brother-in-law to kick it over.

Good afternoon..

I hope everybody is planning to attend Galaxy's Marble Cake Day tommorow. I just love marbles!

My little 1/87 vehcles project is moving along. I completed 3 1949 Mercury's and 1950 1 US Mail truck. curently, I am working on 2 1956 Ford Hardtops. I have others to assemble. .... The mail truck is dark green. How many people here recall the Post Office fleet of trucks were painted dark green?

Happy Model Railroading!

Well, Finally found the property!

i was looking in our township, our county. I forgot it is on the other side of the line, in the next town and county!

One town/county is in our front yard and one town/county is in our backyard. The property in question is on that side of the line.

The property is mostly level, half cleared in front, and wooded in back, 2.7 acres, $23K, current taxes at $363/year.Can't post a link, It times out without entering an "Account #" by creating one.

Problem IS, that town has proplem in allowing manufactured housiong, so thta might preclude us moving our trailer there for now, then building {??} later.

I will have to petition the local construction builders and renovator's corp about building a small stick ranch on foundation {raised above teh water table as it is high water tabel here} and the costs of connecting the city services {water, sewer, nat gas, elec} from street back into the property. Probably some 200' foot worth, maybe longer.

We, or at least I, have a few small house plans perfect for us in mind, that are small, but not tiny, about 800 sq ft.

We have 930 sq ft now, and wish we had STORAGE SPACE is all!

Now, just WHERE to get such money!

well off to dinner. Beef tips in gravy over noodles and green beans.Dinner

EDIT: Just talked to FIL, he sounds better, what happened was he was drifted off to sleep and the cat woke him up and he couldn't talk straight, so he called 911, affraid of a stroke, as failure to speak correctly is one sign. SO off he went. they did all kinds of tests and THINK he was just allergic to something, and to "take this med for 3 days". Still doesn't sound right to me..that explanation that is form the Dr.s. We may have to keep a vigil watch on him.

Broadway Lion - Sorry to hear that you were not able to get to the subways. But it's good news indeed that your brothers & you were able to get so much accomplished in what I think is a very short time. You can all relax a little now just knowing that there are others around to keep an eye on them. In addition, think how lucky you were to spend even more time in Pennsylvania than you planned. Whistling

My PRR Russell Snow Plow did arrive on Monday. It's very nicely detailed with factory installed grab irons etc. The 1 thing I wish they had done was to actually install a working headlight. The dealer was quick in shipping & it arrived in excellent condition. I've been lucky in getting things on-line, & having them arrive in perfect condition. Looking at it though, I noticed how low the front is to tracks. I'll try it later on my test oval, but I think trackwork would need to be pretty good for this rascal.

Well, the above comment is true except for one item I received last week. I had bought the wife a couple of pieces of Dept 56 Halloween Village for Christmas, & 1 of the items was broken. A small dab of super glue & it's almost impossible to tell it has damage.

Been waiting for 2 days now for the furnace repairman to call me back & set up an appointment for a service call. Turned the furnace on Monday morning because it was around 50 degrees in the house, and the induction motor was squealing like a stepped on cat. I've this same problem with the furnace before. As for not receiving a call back, that's pretty unusal for this company. I think there's just been a breakdown in communications somewhere along the line. If I don't hear from them by lunch tomorrow, I'll call again.

Also have to go out tomorrow morning and get my photo driver's license renewed. Sometimes that involves quite a wait, & other times your in & out. Never know how that will go.

Hope everyone stays safe have plenty of good days...

Winding up to be a cool day here. Went over to my fathers place to do some laundry this morning and found that he and my step mother are home for a few days. My van was almost out of gas so I asked him if I could borrow his credit card to get gas. He said it came at a price. I had to have breakfast with them. No problem there. Got 15.01 gallons for $48.617. Seems high, but jeez, Look what he's driving! It gets 6mpg to my vans 10mpg!

Got the laundry done. The nurse showed up and took care of the dressing on my foot. Paperwork to restart use of the wound vac was restarted today. There was no bleeding, even with torn edges the wound is already starting to heal good. Nothing else accomplished today.

Evening guys,

Beautiflu fall day here today, warm and sunny but the night is cool. I was up early today to return the heart monitor. I dont meet with the speaclist until December though. The nurse told me though that if there was a problme I would be notified by the end of the day.

I spent the day outside cutting the grass and removing lawn decorations before the leaves start falling. Its sad to realise that winter is slowly creeping towards us, especially after last winter as its just didnt let up with snow and cold.

With any luck we can get a couple more weeks of really nice temps. Only problem is the nice days are falling on work days and rainy ones are falling on days when im home, lol

The upside of winter is no yardwork or having to cut a dozen lawns so I get more free time to myself. At the moment I dont know what I will be doing MR wise as I dont have any projects lined up as I usually do. I might even take the winter off and just play Strat O Matic in my free time.

Do you guys ever feel like you just need to step back from the trains for a period of time?

Happy Birthday, Galaxy!  I just had a half-birthday myself.  I guess I should have eaten half a cake.

Train show!  A co-worker mentioned that he saw a "train show" sign out by where he lives.  I looked up the web site of the club that runs one out there, and sure enough, October 5th there will be a show.  It's the first of the fall season, so it's been a while and I'm already psyched to go.

I'm feeling much better on the half-dose of that Metformin stuff.  Yesterday I was tired, but I earned that by playing hockey Tuesday night.  We had a poor turnout of skaters, and that's always hard on us goalies because the defense suffers.  This morning I'm fully recovered.  Last night, I even had the energy to prepare veal parmesan, tortellini with pesto and green beans.  Ciao!

It takes an iron man to play with a toy iron horse.

Well,

Thanks for the b-day wishes!

What did I do for my Birthday so far?

Went grocery shopping! I was swore off of buying a Cake as MOH claims to make one on sunday with fondant recipe recently acquired.

Then I went to one pharmacy by the grocery store that still has the dispoable camera-picture-making equipment. Soon to be no more. I had 3 disposable cameras to get developed. One has trains on it, and one I don't know what, and one recent with a pic of me in my kilt and stuff like the cat. Will find out what all is there tomorrow!

Then went to my regular pharmacy to pick up scripts...they ask for your name {if they don't know it} and your b-day to track down on the computer your scripts...she asked my b-day, I said "today" and gave the year. She had trouble remembering what the date today is. NAd of course I got a "happy B-day" out of her. Now had it been the regular pharmacy tech, she would have completely known my info as I am only 2 days older than she is! I have a card for her that says on the front "It took some time, but I finally found a man who can change your age... {inside shows a caveman with chisel and hammer pounding at a rock that says "Birth certificate" on it!}. I may pay for that one. As last year's b-day was one she had trouble with, besides meaning older it meant "old" to her!

well, I go back and finish sleeping as I did not sleep well last night.

Mornin'........

Zoe, Black Coffee and a bowl of Jello,  Lime Jello, please.  What?  birthday cake?  Now you know I love good birthday cake, bugt not today.  No, Ma'am, just that the doctor says I can only have Jello and clear liquids all day today....  Yep, that's right, so be nice to me.

Well, well, I see Galaxy has reached 39 (again).  All together now!  1...2...3....4,

Looks like a fairly nice day here in the Finger Lakes with something called "Partly" forecast all day.  Currently 59°F with a high this afternoon of 71°F.  Sun is out for the moment.

Couple days ago my sister from Canandaigua stopped by on her way home from getting acupuncture here in town for some back and leg pain she is having.  She says it works great so far and highly recomends it...  She has only seen "The Boys", my cats, a few times since they were little kittens.  As soon as she walked in both cats went nuts.  Snuggled up to her and started meowing and were quite obviously glad to she her.  You could see the surprise and the excitedness in their eyes.  Took for a tour of the SLOW.  She was suitably impressed at the artistic achievement of her non-artist brother!

Had a long Skype call of the Region Board last night.  Took close to 45 minutes just to figure out how to get everyone on line for it.  The call kept hanging up.  They finally got it fixed and then we had a 2 hour meeting about region stuff.  The CVonvention we are putting on next Spring was a major discussion.  I have to get seriously moving getting information out that we don't have yet.  They needed this information a month or two ago, and it will take a few more weeks to get it all done.  How do I manage to get Railroaded ionto these things???

So, Ken, what went wrong with the CPAP?  There are several of us here that use them.  I might be able to help you if you let me know what the problem was/is.  What kind of "mask" are you using? Full face? Nasal pillows?  Something else?  You are using distilled water in the humidifier I hope!  I have been using mine for about 10 months now and wouldn't be without it at this point.  They are at times a pain to get just right, but well worth it.  Lots of ways the company you got the CPAP from can help you too.  Lots of diffent things to try, so don't just live with it if it is not working right for you.  Get in touch with them to help get it right.  After the first month, your doctor will make adjustments of the pressure and ramp speed based on the data from your machine as well.

Have a great day out there, folks!

It also happens to be my uncle's Birthday too {my mother's sister's husband}. I was born on his birthday. Only my uncle is in his 80s. Unfortunenately he doesn't think much of me or our sharing birthdays. I was also the first boy in the line of the grandchildren, on both my parents sides.

I have been fighting a migraine all day so spent most back and forth to bed. Probably wind up there again shortly again. as the Nor'easter {as they are calling it} sneaks its way up the coast, we are supposed to get the outter rings of it, maybe that pressure system is why I fight the headache.

GOtta go call in some scripts!

After long and careful thought, they have convinced me. I have come to the conclusion that they are right. The aliens did it.

Herr Ulrich- Thanks for the links. The layouts are great.  And the music is just as good. I grew up with boogie-woogie.

Hi Guys

The heart doctor called when I was at work today and they want me to call back. So will have to call first thing in the morning. I sure hope its good news.

Just watching the Yankess game right now. Cant belive its Derek Jeter's last game at yankee stadium. I might fall asleep before it ends though and I will also be flipping back to the football game.

Good evening. It's 75° with 79% humidity. Partly cloudy, low 65°.

My dinner consisted of two beef and bean Chimichangas with mustard, spicy ketchup and Tabasco sauce.

Today I was recollecting on how to build a powered HO Scale slug and decided I don't want to start on another one anytime soon.

Same goes for repowering an Atlas/Roco FP7 with an Athearn blue box motor. Way too much work for the average project.

Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Evenin' folks!

Well.....  Today is finally over.  I have had my fill of Jello and managed to chug down the stuff that does not nice things to the digestive tract, and am not staying close to the little room down the hall....  Have to get up at 6AM tomorrow and do the routine once again.  My son will be over as soon as he puts the girls on the School Bus to provide me with transportation to the "procedure".

Have a good night, and prayers for all of you....  I could use a few myself maybe.
