Mornin' everyone!
Zoe, I'll have a blueberry muffin with real butter and a cup of Seneca Lake Dark Roast coffee in my R&GV RR mug please.
Partly outside today here in the Finger Lakes, with Thunderboomers firing up around 1PM. and remaining for much of the afternoon and evening. I will be leaving in just a few minutes for my appointment with Dr. Foote the Podiatrist... Well, actually I don't go to him, I go to Dr. Perillo, but there actually used to be a Dr. Foote here in town and he was a Podiatrist.... One thing I want him to do is treat what appears to be a Planter Wart on my left foot... I hope I will still be able to walk since I am working train crew tonight at the Museum meeting.
I also have to drive over to my son's house this afternoon and clean their kitties litter box. They are away all week visiting the other Grandpa in New Mexico.
Gotta get moving. later!

We'll get there sooner or later!
Good morning. It's 82° with 89% humidity. The high will be 95°, cloudy with a chance of rain. with About noon today I'll be leaving for Oakdale. Gotta see my foot doc there so he can clean up the edges of the wound on the side of my foot and check on the site where the fourth toe was removed. Afterward he'll apply wet to dry dressings to them then I can make the long drive back home. Guess I'll find out if the a/c in the truck really works. Hope I don't run into any areas of heavy rain.

Good Morning Diners,
Finished up with the yard work and checked my credit score. Don't know what's to happen today another than 40% chance of rain in the Arizona Desert.
Talk to you later. Bye.

Did that family ever bring thier son back for your old trains? I know you mentioned that you brought them on Saturday but they never came in for them?
I dont remeber if you said they came back on the Sunday?
Morning guys
I have to work at 11am today. I am hoping my Strat o matic shows up before I leave. Sometimes UPS will just leave stuff on my backdoor step and leave. It will fit in between the two doors so I dont know why they just dont do that. I would be very mad to find out they just left it there on the ground on a rainy day, or for somebody to steal.
My neighbor said she will pick it up if it just gets left out.
I have to grab some breakfast and get ready to head out soon.
Talk to you guys tonight sometime
Evening Dinners.

Work Front Got a lot of reading done at Fairview Heights today! Only customer I had came in 10 minutes before closing and was looking for twin box springs for under $50.00 each?
Checked my un paid commission report today. Beside forgetting to pay commssion (Really Spiffs) Mr Pefrect (Paul) had them wrong again! Paul said I made around $600.00 in spiffs, my figuers showes around $800.00. Plus there where two finacnes (I miss spell check) tickets that where never sent in for payment? If they had been paid by Wells Fargo it would have been around $1,000.00! I am starting to like working in St Charles!
The $800.00 is what has been earned up to the 15th of this month. Quick guess I have another $300.00 from the 16th till today. Add the $200.00 from the missing Wells Fargo Deals I am close to $1500.00 in spiffs alone and I may make some $ in moral commssion if the month keeps going good in St Charles.
YGW Sorry I forgot to say congrats on getting married!
BoS Got another letter from them today that just makes my eyes bleed to read! If anyone here can read Bank Language I will scan it so you can decode for me!
In a Nut shell I think it is saying that I am getting help from the Hardest Hit Fund Program and they recived $834.65 on 8-14-14 and they credit it to a unappiled funds account. Then they recived another 9-15-14 they recived another $834.65 and I now have $1669.30 in the unappiled funds account which is the amount of two payments I have sent. But Hardest Hit Fund Program sent them $1047.00 around July 14th and I sent a payment recived on 08-01-14 for $834.65? They have me so confused!
Galaxy Yes I am still thinking of you.
I hate Rust
Today was rather uneventful. The Home Health nurse came by to change my dressings around noon. Looking forward to my trip to Oakdale tomorrow. Nothing major. Just need the doc to clean up the wound a bit. It's 74 outside with 96% humidity. We got quite a bit of rain and there's still a 30% chance for more tonight.Time to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.
Radar shows a nasty storm front coming up from the south. It sounds pretty nasty too.Be back later.
Afternoon folks!
Chloe, I'll have a root beer float, please...
Been busy so far today! Went over to my barber to get my hairs cut. Yep, needed them all trimed. Managed to get there behind 4 other people so I had a bit of a wait to get to me. Read some magazines and a yearbook publication from Hobart and William Smith Colleges here in Geneva. It had a bunch of great "human Interest" stories about the whole community as well as stuff from the colleges. Lots of articles about friends and good aquantances of mine. Some about former students who went to H&WS colleges after high school. Enjoyed having a bit of time to just sit and read.
Got home, wolfed down some lunch and headed out to the Gastroenterology place for my preappointment for the "Rotorouter" job I will be having next month... "Oh Joy, Oh Rapture"! I can't get the exact date of it on their calendar until I find out my son's schedule. They are in New Mexico visiting his wife's Father this week. So it will be a couple weeks before it gets scheduled as my son has to find out when his days off are at work and it has to after school starts so the girls will be in school. Soon as that was over and I got home, I ran the string trimmer around the house, garden, trees, etc.
Has been sprinkling here for the last hour, with a chance of some thunderboomers later. Currently 74°F with a high of 81°F later. Low tonight should be 65°F. Much more seasonable weather for this time of year.
Scout Program Planning Conference tonight... Catch you all later!

Johnboy,
PM with answer is on the way (don´t know how long it takes for all those bytes to crawl across the Big Pond)!
ULRICH, OL' BUDDY,
CHECK YOUR PMs and respond please.
Johnboy out......................and waiting
YGW - Our very best wishes on your upcoming marriage. Hope you & the new Mrs. enjoy many happy years together.
Some serious thunderstorms rolled thru here over night. The rain has finally stopped, but from the looks of it, more may be on the way. I haven't seen any weather broadcasts this morning. Actually, I don't pay much attention to them anyway. Seems to be more accurate just to look out the window. Nothing planned for the day, so maybe a little dusting & running the vacumn cleaner will take place. Hope everyone has a good one...

Part 2 of 3 yard work in the front is done, but not the sidewalk that's another 3 days. I work the areas in sections within 15-20 minutes depending on my back and hands.
I got an email from my hobby shop where I buy trains. Unfortunately he should've wrote to me if I still wanted it. (CR MOW caboose) First off I pre-order 3 items with my old card. I wrote to him to cancel everything, but I kept the pre-order on some BLMA AT&SF beer cars with the new card number.
Returning it is my only option. It was thoughtful of what he did.
Good morning. 81°f, 64%h, high: 95°. No plans for today. Tomorrow I'll be heading to Oakdale.See y'all later. with
Just about to head out soon, talk to you fellas tonight sometime
Morning Dinners!
Flo, Diet Dew Pleases.
Work in Fairview Heights today so I save around a hour today in travel time! Have to stop before work and pick up a med I am out off.
Ulrich Why don't you post some complete layout phots here or in the layout section? Might someone may have a few ideas on how to save the current layout.
Gary Thanks for the Good Luck comment on the Yard Wars and weight lost. I think this Friday I am going after the patio. Tons of twigs, dead leaves and such all over the places. I need to buy some heavy duty Yard Bags so the sticks do not boke holes out the sides.
See you all after work.
Morning guys,
Work in a hour or so. I placed my order for strat o matic football yesterday and the tracking link is showing it will arrive tomorrow sometime. I think I may just wait on axis and allies for now. I would like to eventually get 1914 but from the sites I have been on, the 1941 version is a real thinned out version of the game ( same sculpts for each figure ) so I can wait a little longer for 1914.
I know with strat I will play for sure, I play baseball alot. I just finished setting up some new seasons in baseball, now I will start one with football.
Talk to you guys tonight.
Ken : It looks like you are making alot of progression on the yard.
Dave,
I may have expressed myself incorrectly, but Petra is right. We are sharing the room and that I have to consider. Petra has been and will be very supportive of my hobby. In a way, she is expressing my own thoughts. That leg of the "T" is certainly in everybody´s way, even for me - when operating the layout. It is like a lift-out section, which will hardly ever been taken out, making it to a duckunder.
I know I will not give up model railroading - I will be doing something, yet at the moment I don´t know what that will be. I have a love for narrow gauge railroads and, as I still have that Westside D&RGW T-12 4-6-0, I might use that for a reason to build whatever small layout.
It is a nice model, but requires a lot of tinkering with to get it running properly. I have never seen it run on track in those 40 years I own it!
If I only could get my hand on a copy of the HOn3 Annual 2010 - the RGS layout described in this issue woulkd fit into the room, is a lot less intrusive. When put on casters, it can be moved around and would even fit through the room´s door and moved to a niche in our living room, should we have guests staying over night. But without a credit card, I can´t order it - big
Ulrich:
I am going to be honest. Petra is not treating you as an equal. It seems that every time she refuses her permission for you to make a change with your layout your depression kicks in big time! It is disturbing that she doesn't seem to understand that she is causing you a great deal of distress.
She should be supporting your involvement in something that interests you so much, and something that you are clearly good at.
I'm going way way out on a limb here, but I think you should consider marriage counseling. Despite her great cooking, all you are really getting is crumbs.
Dave
I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
Good Morning!
I am a grouch again this morning. Why? Well, I used the birthday atmosphere yesterday to discuss the necessary changes to my layout with Petra - big mistake! Most of the issues I have with the layout could be solved by moving the layout 4 inches away from the wall and add a board on the back. I´d gain a lot of real estate for improvements, like the freight house could be moved to the end of the track, allowing a car to remain spotted there and still be able to run a loco around the train. It´d provide room for a water tower next to the engine house, some more buildings and even a dirt road leading to them. It´d also add those few important inches to the right side of the layout, where the track is too close to the backdrop for even a hint of scenery. The flip side of this step is it would make the layout even more intrusive as it is already. Petra´s answer to my arguments was a short and brisk "No"! While I can understand her arguments, it leaves me with a layout which will not turn into what I have envisioned. Somehow I knew this after a had laid the track, but seeing is not always believing.
I am definitively not going to invest more time, work and $$$ into a layout which will not give me the fun I wanted it to provide.
Keg Harbor died as of August 20th, 2014.
I will try to sell what can be sold, but I am afraid it won´t be much more than the locos and the car. The layout itself probably has to be just given away. Time to count the losses, but I don´t know whether I will start anew.
Not really a happy camper today!
We lost 3 hours this evening die to a power outage caused by thunder storms.
Ken .... Good luck with Yard Wars and losing weight.
YGW ... I picked MRC because the other 2 model railroaders here at the lake were already using MRC DCC systems. I know the NCE systems get a lot of praise, and I have used that when operating at other layouts.
Ray .... Your list of locotives at the RR museum there included US Army FM switchers. There are 3 among the hulks at Heart of Dixie RR Museum in AL.
As I have said there are three of us model railroaders here at the lake. One of us, Dan, is having a bad year. Recently, he totalled his prde and joy Cadillac because he feel asleep while driving. He and his wife were not injured fortunately. He has not driven a car since then..... Dan is a bicycle riding enthisiast. Today, he had a bad accident while bike riding. ..... He injured his head and broke his pelvis. A prolonged recovery is expected.
On the layout, I have been running trains lately.

Flo, and weed killer pleases!
Well Happy Birthday Ulrich! I understand about the way you feel about. I am pretty much the same way.
Jemery I seldom check PM's. For now the bike is on the back burrner. Between lifting, walking Sparkie The Rocket Dog and Yard Wars my plate is full!
Yard War's Well the vines I attacked are pretty much gone! There are a few fraggments that I cannot tell if it is still part of the plant or stuff that is cut off I have not picked up yet. Few of the plants and trees I cut out last week where starting to get leaves again. I Nuked them after I was done!
Sue had been using the over growen area as a Trash Can? I could not believe the silly stuff that was in that mess! Some of the silly stuff I have found.
1 Twinkey Wrapper. (Don't like them so no idea how to spell it)
2 TV Tray (Sue likes to eat outside) I all so hate TV Dinners!
3 Mop Head?
4 Old Dish Towel?
5 Plastic Drinking Cup. That might be from watering the plants and blew in there.
6 Light Bulb?
Hard part will be getting all the junk out of the once Rock Bed and making it look like something again.
Lost More Weight? Pants felt lose yesterday so today I weighted myself. Normally when I was on a diet and wanted to check for weight lost I would do it first thing in the morning after I took care of bussines on the thron. Today I checked after I had ate and had my coffee around 12:00. I was surprised to see I had lost more weight. My scales is medical grade where you use a bubble to adjust the scale. Looks like I have lost 8 pounds!
Funny thing I did not start working out to lose weight, just get stronger. I guess between lifting, Yard Wars and walking Sparkie The Rocket Dog it is suffecent exercies to drop a few pounds.
Well, it is time to walk Sparkie the Rocket Dog. Then eat the BBQ I did while I typed this. Spent $10.83 on 2 Beef Shish Kabobs with onions and peppers. It better be outstanding!
Looks like no star gazing tonight. We have big lines of thunderstorms coming in from Texas and they really got things jumping here. May get a chance tomorrow night.Calling it a night early due to storm activity. See y'all tomorrow.
Afternoon/evenin' folks!
I just got home from Boy Scout Camp... Actually Rotary Camp OnSeYaWa for handicaped kids. They use the Boy Scout camp for two weeks each summer. Ran several errands and did some shopping I needed to do and then had lunch. After lunch I went to the grocery store for the weeks goods. No sooner got home when the phone rang. It was a staff member out at camp whom I know well, telling me that half the sound system was not working at all... &#$!!%^*! I told him I might not be able to get out there until Friday... He convinced me to get out there this afternoon. So I finished up some stuff I absolutely needed to do here and gathered up some tools and wires, and connectors, and such stuff and headed out to camp.
Got there and Couldn't find anything wrong! Reset some things on the board that didn't need to be on (Sliders that didn't do anything as they aren't connected to anything) wiggled a few wires, checked to make sure all the amps were plugged in and on... So we put on a CD of some classic Rock and the guy out there walked around the building.... Nope 4 of the 6 speakers don't work... So I wiggled a few more wires and the guy said that the Camp properties Chairman cleaned the room and the shelves that the equiment is on last Friday... OK, light comes on!!! I unplugged all the outputs to the speakers that didn't work, and lo and behold the leads to the Amps for those speakers were not plugged into the splitter all the way. TaDa! I plug them all back in properly and turn on the system. Play the CD again and I could tell inside the building all was well. He came back to the Sound Room with a huge grin! While I was there I gave a quick lesson on how the system works to the kid who runs the "tunes" for the camp. He had no idea there is 5 different places where sound levels can be turned up and down on a Pro System.... All is well!
I am now waiting for my Pork Steak to marinate before putting it on the grill for dinner.
YGW, hear you go (watch slide show top of page).... The LA&L actually has 4 of the Century Alco Locos I believe. We had 428 & 418 on display Sunday. BTW, we had our vintage locos Eastman Kodak #9 an RS1, Lehigh Valley #211 an RS3m, and our US Army Fairbanks Morse H12-44 on display. We were running GE 45 tonner RG&E 1941 "Beebee Station" and our GE Former US Army 80 Tonner R&GV 1654 on the trains.
Later!
yougottawantaJeff - LOL - Your response made me laugh. Hope the surgery goes well. Maybe you can bring in your star gazing equipment to "scope out " some cute nurses ?

Went to the courthouse today to turn in my release from jury duty that I got from my doc this morning. The reasons he listed are just the tip of the iceberg but should prove to be sufficient. I went first to the old courthouse which has been there since 1910 then had to go across the street to the new courthouse which has been there since the late 90's. Before that the building was The Buckhorn Bar. Before that it was a bank. By the time I got to the second floor I was wiped out. There I turned the aforementioned document over to the judges secretary then made my retreat. I had parked behind the post office, not even a quarter mile away. Getting back there took about forty-five minutes. By then I was well and truly hurting and was more than happy to be on my way back home. Nothing else planned until Thursday when I have to go to Oakdale.
Jeff - LOL - Your response made me laugh. Hope the surgery goes well. Maybe you can bring in your star gazing equipment to "scope out " some cute nurses ?
Ulrich - Hppy birtday here is a for you and boy did that pie look yummy !
Garry - Howdy what is it about the MRC that you like over other brands ? I have an MRC that I have not set up yet and hope to this fall.
Howmus - here is a tissue for you. Did you get a photo of teh vintage Alcoa ?
Mister Beasly - congrats on daughter and her high placing finish
TMarsh - smart response to the wife. You know the old saying ? It is better to dwell in the widerness than under a roof with an angry women ! Lot of truth there.
jeremy - How did the nephew cut his leg that bad ? Hope it heals well.
Tom - congrats on the wifes birthday and your annivesary !
Welp - I need a few prayers. Last weekend had some dental procedures ( actually medieval tortures ) performed and I have been down for three days on pain meds and for the first time in a number of days the pain is down to level 3 of 10. It was bad on Saturday !!! Gotta go back for more work (torture ) on Friday. Then getting married on Saturday and then off to the honemoon !!
Well gotta git back to w**k

Zoe, I'll have a short stack of Blueberry Pancakes with real NYS Maple Syrup, a couple sausage links, and lots of Dark Roast Coffee for my R&GV RR mug please.
Today it is supposed to be "Partly". Not sure Partly What yet, but we shall see. Currently 69°F outside (was 62° when i got up) and will get up to more seasonable 79°F later this afternoon. I have to do some triming around the property with with my little battery powered string trimmer, do some weeding in the garden, go shopping, go to the credit union for some cash, and do more p[rinting today... May even go down cellar to see if the layout is still there.
Jeffrey, good luck with the Gallbladder Surgery. What they do today is a lot nicer than back when my late wife had hers out. she ended up with a scar from just under her ribs on one side all the way down to her hips on the other. It used to be one of the most invasive types of surgery (as bad as open heart). Now it is done with a very small incision that can heal up fast. will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!
Have a great day out there! Later...
Just enjoyed two big slices of that cake, topped with cream - yummy!
I like the sweet taste of the cherries with a tang to it. If we were in the US, selling Petra´s cakes and pies would earn us a fortune, I bet. Yet we are stuck here in this dreadful country
"Petra´s German Pastry Shop" - Home made cakes, pies and sweets. Imagine a place, stuffed with all those goodies, the sweet smell of honey, nuts, cinnamon and chocolate in it, people lining up in the street to get a whiff of that (and, of course, buy some of that) and me at an old fashioned cash register, the bell ringing constantly
Johboy - still no improvement on the swallowing? I was hoping you were joining the chowhounds in here by now. Keeping you in our prayers.
Bear - actually, that cake is the one and only highlight of my birthday. Lots of good stuff in it, topped with a big serving of love - after being married over 30 years to me, a miracle!
