"All of the world's problems are the result of the difference between how we think and how the world works."
We do not have ANY way to pick up TV so I have only seen trailers of "Hell on Wheels" on internet. But you might see a 4-4-0 that is not actually live steam. This N model is sort-of self-powered but not very reliably. I probably need to get some kind of cheater power- like I understand they do with the "Hell on Wheels" trains.
This is a transcontinental railroad diorama I built for a history class I taught.
Show me something railroady with a connection to movie or TV show.
I was inspired by Petticoat Junction to leave the roof off of my water tower (at some point I'll add the Bradley girls):

I'm just a dude with a bad back having a lot of fun with model trains, and finally building a layout!
kbkchoochShow me something Green AND Yellow
Having had a good I should honour Karls request.
Once upon a time a young handsome, charming, highly intelligent, and, did I mention, extremely modest chap weighted, put in windows, and painted an Athearn BB Wide Vision Caboose in his factitious railroad colour scheme. All that was required to finish the project was some decals and a little weathering.
Imagine, if you will, his chagrin when he found out that wide Vision Cabooses hadn't been built until after his modeled timeframe.
Not that anyone else would do such a thing, but could someone show me something that really shouldn't be on their layout, but they like it anyway?
Karl,
I'm not sure if you have this ad in the USA but Aussies have been watching this one for a while now. Certainly grabs your attention the first time. It's on free to air TV.

This little BLI Mikado has had its wheels run off by my grandsons since it arrived on the layout in 2004. Never a problem.
Show me another 'hard worker' from your layout.
Remember its your railroad

This little guy is my current hard worker; when I get a loco running right, I tend to "run the wheels off of it." This 0-4-0 didn't run when I got it. I swapped out the motor and added rail wipers. Now it runs so well that it's the every day runner.
Show me a freelanced project.
Lets get this moving again.
Show me a before and after shot.
Before

After
That was fun,,,lets do it again!
Shoe ME a before and after (the during is optional)
When I built my layout it was in two sections with a furnace in between. Then I moved and connected the two sections, necessitating a scenery patch. Here's a before, during, and after:
I used Great Stuff to form a contour:
Then plastered and textured:
I feel pretty good about the results.

More than one if you wish. Hello Gary, I have a question about the tractor that's hauling the Athearn 25' trailer. what brand is it and does it size up well with those trailers. My layout is based on Athearn 25' trailers, but the Athearn tractors are a little to big when you match them up with the 25' trailers. Thanks! John

"Ladies and gentlemen, I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that both engines have failed, and we will be stuck here for some time. The good news is that you decided to take the train and not fly."
John,
Gary's truck looks to me like a CMW WC22. Walther's has them listed.
Good luck,
Richard

Yes, the truck tractor is a CMW model. It looks okay with the Athearn trailer in the photo taken at that angle. However, the trailer is undersized based on the distance between the dual wheels on the axles.
Back to the show me request. (maintenance or repair work)
