I guess it is tomorrow that you go in for all the preliminary work up and later in the week as you get closer to your surgery date I will be Stateside helping my Son move from Missouri to Billings Montana and will probably not get to a puter. So I wanted to wish you well on this undertaking and I am sure it will be the best for your overall health and well being.
You are a fighter and you will succeed with your rehab, I know.
Prayers and blessings go with you through this time. You will be in my thoughts as I to am slated for some surgery when I get back home as well. I have four small masses in the right side of my neck. One on the Saliva gland, one on the thyroid and two others that have to be dealt with, soon I hope....

We are under a storm watch, have been for most of the day actually but nothing has come of it yet, nice breeze but still have ti have A/C on as it would be a bit sticky in the house. Haven't been out on Mountain bike in a couple mornings but hope to get it out tomorrow.
Had to go out early this morning and as I was about to head out the door I heard the sound of foot steps around the driveway, didn't see anything and don't know if it might have been somebody walking by but didn't see anything. I turned on the lights out door right away. Still wondering what it could have been? animal? somebody trying to break into car? nothing to take in the car but in this city people will steal anything that isn't locked down or on fire.

Johnboy .... Sorry to learn about your health problem. Keep us informed. If your son is moving it sounds like you will not be traveling in this region next year. Of course, you would be more than welcome if you did anyhow.

I'll be heading out tomorrow about noon for Oakdale to get my pre-admission stuff out of the way. I likely won't be back until late afternoon or early evening.I did some more work on the new disk drives today. I put a clear coat on the shells and they now appear to have a hammered finish. Went back to the dentist at 4PM today and they took me right in. Didn't have time to sit down. I was actually in the process of sitting down when I was called in.... LOL The dentist (this was the lady one as my usual dentist is out at Scout camp I think) refilled the tooth next to the partial that is a crown covering 3 teeth. She also ground down a ridge on a crown on the tooth below where I was getting food stuck between the teeth. She told me if this doesn't stop the impaction of food between the teeth, she recommends I have the tooth she refilled extracted. She said the partial is more important for chewing and the top tooth can be removed and not have any problem. Her concern is that I could lose the partial and then be in real trouble. We shall see. So far the refilling of the tooth seems to be working and I didn't get food stuck there tonight...
Around noon I turned on the air conditioner as it was about to rain inside the house. Outside humidity was was around 75% so I turned it on. Mid afternoon, Manét was coughing again! So I guess I know what his problem was. I need to dry out the basement and attack the mold and mildew down there. At dinner time tonight I shut off the Air Conditioner and so far Manéy has not coughed again. I can smell the mustiness when the air comes on. I have got the dehumidifier on down there and in less than a day had to empty it. The vet also called with the results of his bloodwork. There was one item that was a bit elevated, but she thinks it was from the stress of the whole ordeal of going to the vet and having a blood draw and isn't concerned about it. Everything else was normal for a 21lb. 9 oz. cat his age.
Johnboy, I'll keep you in my prayers as you get things taken care of!
Jeffrey, do know I am also keeping you in my thoughts and prayers during the next few weeks as you have your surgery! Do have someone let us know how things went for you ASAP after the surgery. We all care around here.

Jeffrey- Good luck with the pre admin stuff today. I believe this is the best thing to do. Easy to say for someone who’s not going through it, but still, it seems safer and better for your health. You’ll probably get around much easier after as well. Got to. Plus, no more bone picking either. Boy, you gotta like that. And don’t tell me you’ll miss it either!!

Welp, looks like yardwo*k today. And since I only did one load of laundry, I’ll need to do another one or 15. Ended up going up to the restaurant to do a couple odds and ends the health department wrote them up for and a few other things they didn't, but he (the owner) just wanted done because, well, it needed done. HD got them for the hand sink in the kitchen needs re-caulked where attached to the wall. We used clear caulk when it was replaced a year ago and well, you know how clear gets after a while. Just looks yellow and nasty if you have to use much of it and he did. They had the plumber put it up under the previous owner and he has it too far off the all so a larger than normal amount of caulk is necessary. All I have to do is cover with white. I does look dirty. Then I have to adjust the men’s bathroom door closer so it pulls the door, get this, another inch so it closes “completely”. It’s a single person bathroom with a knob/lock like a regular door and you have to lock the door to avoid intruders anyway so….I mean the door closes to the jam, you just have to pull it maybe an inch to catch. I asked how that is a health issue. They said it’s not a health issue, but rather a privacy issue. I wanted to say what ‘s privacy got to do with health department, but I didn’t. I said “ how? You can’t see in. And even if they could, it’s down a hall and cannot be seen from the dining area so…?” They say if someone where to not pull the door closed, someone could actually peek in if they tried. And ( and I’m not kidding here) since it is separated from the dining area and not in view, they would not be seen and more likely to take the effort to look in. I stood there and just looked blankly. “I’ll be more than happy to adjust it. I don’t like peekers.” I know they have to justify their visit and find something, but like my friend said. Some of these things are ridiculous. He’d rather them say the need to sweep the corners and under the refrigerators better. Same effect, same rating. But not as silly.
Also got my hairs cut yesterday and though I feel no different, people seem to think I should….”Now don’t you just feel better?” “Nope. Actually, I don’t. Only time I notice is when I look in the mirror or wash my hair.”

Good morning. It's 76° with 100% humidity. It feels like 87°. The high will be 99° and will feel like 107°. Lots of sunshine today.Nothing going on today except a trip to Oakdale to get a bunch of paperwork done and get any pre-op procedures out of the way.Looks like it'll be good weather today and tomorrow but it appears the weekend might be a little bit wet.No computer photo today. I wouldn't blame you if you're getting tired of those by now.

Jeffrey, may everything go well for you. After my rotator-cuff surgery fixed my shoulder, I have great faith in the "repair" business at the hospital. Take your meds and do your physical therapy. It's an important part of the recovery, not just something that's "nice to do." It will take a while, but in the end you will be better off for having done this.

Currently it is 62 with an expected high of 89.
Back to w**k today. Did get some laundry done yesterday, and a lot of personal business, but not much else. Cancelled my brother-in-laws cell phone. Last year my late wife decided he needed it because he was spending so much time at the hospital with his mom, she passed away in Feb. and he no longer needs it. Also cancelled my cable TV, and land line phone service, I do not use them much at all and I can use the extra money. need to return the cable box this morning.
Prayers to all in need, and special ones for Jeff and Johnboy.

Tonight a group of us from the reunion committee will be laminating the photo ID tags I am making for the reunion. We are meeting at another members house so I don't have to try to clean this dump I live in!

Went to do a TON of errands incliding the dentist to have the remained of a broken off tooth removed. They don't have my partial, so that appt is cancelled for tomorrow. Next week for that one, then they will have to add my new tooth to my partial upper now. THEn maybe i can eat. If one more tooth goes ont eh uppers, that will leave only 3 teeth, there and I may have all pulled for a total upper plate. My teeth just get old and break off. That will be when i have the money!
Got a CC bill and they snuck on a $1.24 to one charge, I have to send in the complaint and COPY of the original reciept to dispute! Sneaky people! I've heard bout them types.

Works for me I'd rather do something I enjoy than be miserable.
I guess, I need to focus on getting my next job and saving money, that in turn means the trains will have to be put away and I'll be an armchair model railroader. I'm a bit bummed because I was looking forward to working on a layout but my Model trains don't guarantee me a future except in model railroading.

Last 10 hour day has ended. Will work for about 3 days next week and then it's off to PennTech.
Also just had my best day in my P-40 in WoWP. It didn't beat my Wildcat's record, but I think it's impressive for the P-40. Took down a FW 57, a Hawk 75M, and one other attack aircraft. don't know what it was, but I was VERY close to colliding with it that when it blew up from the machine gun fire, I flew right through the cloud of smoke. Kinda felt like something from a movie. Also happy with the fact that the guys that I've been fighting with have been very reasonable.

Made it back from Oakdale in one piece. Everything with the prelim paperwork went well. Had blood tests done, got a chest X-ray, an EKG was done and we got the standard orientation about the upcoming surgery and the possible hazards about same. On getting back to Leesville we had dinner at Los Mayas Mexican restaurant. I exercised my God-given right as a son to embarrass his father in public and let the staff know that today is my fathers birthday. So they came out playing the guitar and plopped a large sombrero on his head while singing Happy Birthday in Spanish. My step-mother cracked up laughing and I had the pleasure of watching his face turn six shades of red while he just smiled like the kid who had just been given the keys to the candy store and the owner is on vacation. I have to back in Oakdale Monday morning at 7am for the start of the procedure.

I have worked for Canadian National's Grand Trunk Western in Marketing and in Finance for about half of my career. . I have BBA and MBA business degrees. When young, I was a city transit bus driver, and that paid for college expenses. It was a lot of work with a full time job and a full class load at the same time. I slept very little. My model trains were stored most of that time, too. ....... Gary, you have a lot of great potential, and a career in railroading or other transportation will be very rewarding. You might also consider a career with a shipper who contracts with transport companies. .... In any case, I would suggest you be eager to learn all you can about transportation and business. ..... Go for it son, and you can retire when you are in your 50s My sister did it, I wish I had followed her lead. 14 grand is not so bad. Between College and grad school, my son will have spent 250,000 to speak Chinese.
Been working on this the last few days. A Mantua Mikado Sporting a Pacific Boiler and cylinders, masquerading as a USRA mikado, late in it's career> Still have a few more parts, then paint, DCC and sound and this ancient engine will run. How old is it? It came in a deep red Mantua box, and has a gearbox in the frame, not the open gear of the 60's and 70's with lathe turned brass drivers. :-) Given to me by a dear friend and mentor, it sat in my workbench until his recent passing. Funny how I didn't have time to assemble it when Charlie was alive, but I have felt compelled to finish it since he passed.
Well, thats enough for tonight, gotta work on paying customers stuff tomorrow. Might get the Mike done next week.

If you've been keeping up with my computer rebuilds you know that I recently got two Mitac disk drives. One of these worked right out of the box when I got it but the other one needed work. I replaced the chassis in it with an Apple Shugart chassis. Externally the drives are identical and I want to know which drive has the Shugart mechanism at a glance. The solution was very simple. I'll give you three guesses which drive it is but you only need one.I'll be going back to Oakdale Monday morning to have the operation done and hopefully everything will go well. I'll likely be spending a few days there afterward before being allowed to return to Leesville. Over the weekend I'll be moving some of this computer equipment to my fathers place so I can have something there to work on while I'm living there. I don't want to be bored the death after all. The only computer down there is one I built shortly after hurricane Rita flattened this part of the state in 2005. I put it there so my mother could use it in her genealogy work. I use it once in a while to get online sometimes and my father attempts to use it when he feels he needs to fry his brain. He's usually doing good to turn it on. Besides moving the computer stuff I also need to move my tools and diagnostic equipment. So I think I'm going to be a little busy this weekend. I probably need to mow the grass tomorrow too.Well that's all for now. See y'all tomorrow.

Had a laminating party over at another one of my classmates homes that ended up living here in the same city.... We ended up having 5 of us there. Four of us got to work on the name tags and had them all finished before the fifth person showed up. Then we sat around for a couple hours just yakking about old times. This is what putting on a reunion should be all about...

Tomorrow i have to go to Canandaigua to do some errands before my sister takes me out to dinner... So i will have to fill up the tank with the dead Dinosaur dung crap. Only getting 79mpg according to on-board computer.... I was hoping for an 850 mile tank at least. May get it to 800 mile before I fill it. That 1000 mile tank is still eluding me! Next couple of weeks I will be putting a lot of miles on the PiP so this tank will not be as good. This includes 5 trips out to the museum (101 miles each trip), trip out to Boy Scout Camp, and a couple trips to Canandaigua... That will be the end of that tank of gas.... Good news is as of today I have accumulated enough points to get $1.40 of the price of each gallon...
