Afternoon....
Ah yes, The home of my youth.....
"Home no more home to me, whither must I wander? Hunger my driver, I go where I must. Cold blows the winter wind over hill and heather: Thick drives the rain and my roof is in the dust. Loved of wise men was the shade of my roof-tree, The true word of welcome was spoken in the door - Dear days of old with the faces in the firelight, Kind folks of old, you come again no more." Robert Louis Stevenson (From Songs of Travel, Ralph Vaughn Williams.)
Learned several songs from the cycle when I was in High School and the rest at Eastman School. I was told by my Artist Teacher I would really not understand them until I was much older... He was so very right! Several now bring tears to my eyes, Whither Must I Wander, quoted above is one of them!

Here's another indication that I'm growing old. When I Google the houses I lived in when growing up, they are now empty lots. Same with all of the homes of my Grand parents, uncles and aunts. They have all been torn down over the years. Same thing goes for my wife. You know that old saying, "You can't go home again". It's really true for us.

Don't blame me for that, Paul. We left East Meadow when I was 9 years old.
Recently, I used Google to look at the old neighborhood. We lived in a small cape on a road at the very edge of the development, with a large active farm across the street. My Mom recalled looking out the window to check on me, and seeing, to her horror, a cow in our front yard. No longer. That house now looks out at the loading dock of what appears to be a big-box store on the outside of a mall.

He calls it the box, he has posted a bunch of pictures on CTT and if anyone has ever considered using a trailer as a train room you would be interested in it.

Evan Designs carries the LED's pre made. I use them and it just makes lights a whole lot easier Ken. Just Google Ëvan Designs" and you'll find his website. Great to deal with too.

Rio Grand Front Giving it some run time hooked to the B&O SD's. Running it with no weights or shell so I can hear the sounds it makes sometimes. Looks funny has heck, but it is running, only sound I hear right now is the motor. Tonight I going to install the shell with out weights so it looks like a engine.
Well, it is time for work. See you all around 10:00 PM.

Morning All,
Currently it is 58 with an expected high of 85.
Day off, but a very busy one ahead. I have on load of laundry going now and will soon start another. Have to vacuum, and clean the bathrooms. Cook several meals for the coming week.
I received one of the orders I placed last week, 8 sections of Atlas code 83 flex track. So later I will do some layout w**k, and maybe tackle a building kit or two, and do some scenery w**k.

Zoe, coffee (dark roast please) to go.
Just started up the puter again as a noisy ol' thunderboomer came by about the same time I started 'er up earlier this morning.
I got a great nights sleep on the new mattress and my joints feel the best this morning that they have in some time now. Think I made the right decision...
I'm just about out the door to a Podiatrist appt. So I will catch up with everything later.
Good morning. It's 63° with 100% humidity. Cloudy today with a chance of rain. The high will be 82°.Looks like we have a chance of getting wet today. This morning I have the GP40's running. Later I'll switch them out and bring on either the four FP7's or the two GP7's, GP35 and slug. I haven't really decided yet. Other than that I'll be doing some cleanup work and watch a few movies. I'm still having some bouts with the dizziness this morning. That should clear later. Hopefully it'll be an uneventful day.
Good Morning!!!
Coffee and a pulled pork sammich with Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ sauce and an order of fries please. Thanks

Galaxy- I agree with every Optometrist that says…. There is no getting used to glasses. You either see right or wrong right from the git-go. If they tell you to give them some time for you to get used to them, hand them back and say refund please. If they refuse, ask them to put it in writing you need to get used to them. (They won’t) Them tell them you are going to take these glasses to every Optometrist in town to find one who says it’s the correct subscription. If none, you’ll hear from me again. Only time I had to get “tough” with any business, was twice. Both were eyeglasses places and for just that reason. Wrong prescription. Believe it or not, the first time the place said my eyes needed to adjust as my prescriptions I had had for the last almost thirty years was wrong and now my eyes have to be readjusted for the correct one. I hit the roof over that one and yes, I caused a scene being a bit louder than I could have been but I wanted to make sure everyone in the place, customers and all heard what they were doing and no they didn’t call the manager up as I was talking to her. She did ask me to leave, and that’s when I said the magic words I mentioned above. Then, she didn’t want me to leave. They did get my prescription right, I claimed they do this on purpose to cause people to need changing prescriptions and asked them, manager and all to watch me as I exit the building. I walked out the front door and in front of an entering customer, as luck would have it, dropped my new glasses on the ground on purpose, and smashed them with my boot using the over exaggerated knee above the waistline stomp. Lady heading in asked what was that for....I told her. Not because of me, but the place is no longer in business, at least in Springfield.
Charlie- No I haven’t tried Tamiya tape, but when I need to do that again, I will definitely try it and Jim’s tip as well.
Didn’t get much done of what I wanted yesterday cause I got called to do some more electrical w*rk at the restaurant. (shakes head) some numbscull really got that place aaaaallll whacked out. Anyway, gotta mow again which means what…..? I have no idea. I gotta get stuff moved….again, so Brenda’s car can get back inside the garage. Funny. She pulls the car out, fills the space with something and then somehow it’s my fault the car isn’t inside and gets pooped on by birds. She hates bird poop on anything. Pet peeve I guess.
Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!! Bie Bie!!
EDIT: Um, after re-reading the thing to Galaxy, I didn't just go off on them as quick as it sounds. That was after almost an hour of them trying to convince me, first it was the same prescription, because the doctor claimed my prescription hadn't changed, then went to the Doctor didn't mean exactly that, then the Doctor had to re-do my exam to be sure to recheck my vision just to be sure it wasn't the prescription. Ya, they claimed it could be the glasses were right but the Doctor's prescription might have been wrong. Don't try and figure that out. You can't. Then the old prescription was wrong, Blow up. then after a bit they finally made this comment that "they, as standard practice, take the Doctors prescription and bump it 5" but didn't think I'd notice. "most people don't". BUMP IT 5!!!! Oh I was livid by then and said you can't do that, what if a Pharmacist "bumped it 5". It's a Doctors order for crying out loud, not a shopping list for a party. Then the request to leave if I couldn't be civil. Then the request and comment I made above, then she wanted to see what they could do to make this right and please calm down could they get me some coffee or a soda.

Sir Madog The last few days provided to be really tying to me. I am sincerely considering to withdraw from politics. There are so many things which go against those values, that have been guiding me all my life. Politics surely is dirty, but I had hoped not that dirty. This has nothing to do with democracy anymore. Tonight, there will be an emergency meeting called in by me. The outcome of this meeting will determine, whether I´ll stick on ... Have a good one!

ULRICH- politics of any sort have always been dirty. If the other party can't be made to look bad the honest way, then resort to mudslinging, digging up dirt and looking for skeletons in closets.
If you have an honest platform you should be able to rise above it. People always want that change from "politics as usual".
And since you were a high level executive, you should have an exemplary record in the past, so there shouldn't be much dirt to dig up on you. {unless you were a ruthless dictator who tore apart companies and put people out of work! }
It is also said that one's whole family gets put on trial when one runs for political office, so expect that and let it roll off your back...you have to and so do they.
If you have thick skin, you will survive and if you offer a change form the status quo, you will succeed and then you can set about making change once on the inside!

On a brightrer note, good morning from sunny (for now) New England!
As it has been for close to 4 decades now, Wednesday morning is that tired experience after Tuesday Night Hockey. Not quite as old as that, but getting up there, were my old hockey pants. I actually bought a replacement pair a couple of years back, but I kept using the old ones until one day last year when I decided it was time. It wasn't, as the pants were fine, but I had become, shall we say, rounder. After losing what I realize now is close to 20 pounds, I can now fit in those hockey pants, and I played in them last night. I'm a goalie. OK, we're not the Boston Bruins and the score was 15-14, but it was a hard-won contest. I'll probably take a nap when I get home from work today, though.
Ulrich, das tut mir leid.
If good people like you who are disgusted by the sewer that politics has become all leave, then the rats have won. I was happy when you, an outsider, became a leader in a new movement, and hoped it could start to turn around the dangerous path that democracy is taking. When power for its own sake, rather than power for the purpose of doing good, becomes the way the system is run, then the whole concept has to be re-evaluated if it can't be changed.

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
Evening guys
I changed my train at the MR club again. After nearly 4-5 years of continous use, the F45s and SD45s are back home. The P2K SD45s still run great, but cleaning the wheels every few hours gets old. I'm going to see if NWSL has replacement wheelsets for them. Mine are worn down to the brass. I'm now using my 2 BLI C30-7s and the ATSF SD40-2 (from ken) as a consist. I also changed the cars from Open autoracks and TOFC cars to a mix of boxcars, reefers, tanks, and a few other car types. My train length went down, but I nearly doubled my total cars.
Whenever I finish up my coal gons, and my other ones get here, I'm gonna run a coal train. I'll even get my BN SD40-2 if I can find a set of DW MU hoses and some lift rings.
Regarding paint, I use cans, brushes, and airbrushes. I tend to use the can, and touch up with the brush.
Ken, All of those engines except for the older atlas one are Plug and play (the old atlas Katos are pretty easy though). One of the atlases in there may have DCC already. All of the pictured P2K locos could use a DH163L0 or DH165L0, except for the switcher. NCE makes a decoder specifially for the P2K SWs. Wasn't I supposed to send you something?
Gary, I didn't loose layout space to my folks. I lost it to my brother; after he wrecked his miata.... Layout went away and the miata was stuck in it's place. As you probably can tell, I don't care for that miata. lol
Chris, nice looking GP7. Did you notice the BN torpedo GP9 (GP9s were numbered 1700 and up) in the background of the MP15?
Watched some sci-fi movies today. Later I gave four GP40's a good long run. Three are Bachmann rebuilds and one is an Atlas. Guess which one is loudest. It ain't any of the Bachmann's and only one of them is anywhere near new. My father and I went to Fox's Pizza tonight. He had lasagna with a side salad and root beer and I had a 9" taco pizza with a Dr Pepper. I sitting at home now typing this and watching the four GP40's pulling a thirty car freight train. All four have DZ125 decoders.
