Evening All,
Had pizza for supper with the grandkids. They are in bed now and tomorrow we are off to the show
I started making tunnel walls behind the portals by placing self stick Chooch stone walls on thin styrene "For Sale" signs you get at Lowes. I need to find some more "wall" tomorrow at the show.
Ulrich- Best wishes on the political office.
Hope everyone has a good night and prayers for those in need.

Should mention that that the money will come from a former attorney's will. Had a lot of money and said in his will that he was looking to have it spread out like this. Not typical bank work.

Got a little cleanup done on the layout today. There's a few cables, some wire and a computer part added to a box in the closet now. I gave four of the FP7's a good run this afternoon.Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Night everyone.
Jake .... Sounds interesting. Does the scholarship specify what and where you study?
Ulrich ...... We'll have to select slogans for your campaign. This is a corny one, and I'd hate to think of the German translation: .... "Enrich With Ulrich!"
Several of you might recall might recall my griping last year because a major bridge was down on the way across the lakes. A river freighter hit it, and one span was destroyed. It took most of the year to replace the span with a new one.
Well, here is today's news for the same bridge:
"The US 68/KY 80 Eggners Ferry Bridge is CLOSED to traffic at this time after a tow boat pushing several empty barges hit one of the bridge piers. According to the US Coast Guard, the Motor Vessel Evey T was headed downstream on the Tennessee River/Kentucky Lane when a gust of wind blew the tow into the right descending pier on the main channel just after 3:00 p.m., CDT."
Bridge inspectors have determined the bridge is okay, and it was just re-opened.

Vince's what the heck does "AFAIK" mean? You have to use proper grammar with me, I old! Far as how many versions Proto made of the SD 7 and 9's if there where only two, they sure used more than one PC Board for them. Has far as the New Rio Grand SD 9, I don't think Walther's had bought Life Like at the time this one was made. I had been wanting to buy this one from K-10 for something like 5 years now. Getting the Parts SD 9 from Ed was the logic I used to buy it?
New SD 9 Rio Grand Front. More I think about the racket I was hearing, the more I think it is worm gearing bearings like my PK 1000 NYC F3 A was making. I sure hate taking a new engine apart to try to fix it my self. If I can't, I may not be able to return it.
See you all later, Ken

Good Morning!
I am up early today, getting prepared for the trip to Berlin. Lots of papers to print, staple and file. A first taste of my future job?
Congress people are well paid. The best part of that job is - if you serve two terms, you are entitled to a nice pension. Not a bad deal!

Today, the poll sees us at 5.4% and rising ...
I´ll be out for the next two days . see you all on Monday!
Have a good weekend!
Hi Gang,
I see the numbers are dwindling here as some of us oldsters slip away to bed.
Zoe, if you please, I'll have a HC. and a couple of oatmeal chocolate chip cookies to tide me over until Breaky.
I hope in the morning Tipton Bill has some HOT coffee for us. Sure haven't been pleased with his offerings of late. HaHaHa. I'm sure he would lose that early morning job if Vinnie found out about cold coffee and only half cups. Just not up to the standards we expect here in the ol' diner
Good Luck with your endeavor into Politics Ulrich. If we could figure a way to get the Chapel car over to you, you could use it as a campaign office. You might even be able to talk Garry and Jeff to go over and be your Campaign Managers. Some how they look like the Blues Brothers, dontcha think ?.
Willie, you be sure to keep all that snow out there in Alberta. WE DO NOT WANT ANY MORE> and I would hate to have to pass it on to CN. Charlie, Seamonster Bob, and Blind Bruce. I think they have had more than their share anyway, plus they get all the melt from us too.
Had lots of running around today on this day off. Had to pick up my snow blower as it was having some auger repairs. Then picked up a new set of tires for my wife's car. Took her out for supper to a buffet,,,,NO not Chinese tonight. So all I accomplished on the LM&E other than running a couple of trains for a short time was that I made up a batch of plaster and poured a few more rock castings.
That HC. tasted good so I am now off to the sack for a few ZZZZzzzzssss.
Prayers and blessings to all in need. Catch ya all tomorrow.

Good morning. It's 54° with 80% humidity. The high will be 78°.Nothing special planned for today. There's still more cleanup to be done on the layout. I also need to put my video recorder and cell phone on to charge. The new fridge is doing great. The temp is right at 37°.
Mornin' everyone!
Zoe, a nice bowl of hot oatmeal w/ brown sugar and a cup of dark roast coffee would be just fine this morning.
Isn't that the duck that wanders around in the road on rainy nights trying to get run over so it can collect insurance?
Gray and dull outside again today, at least for the moment. The weather guessers have "partly" predicted for most of the day. Guess I'll just have to wait and see.
Appears to be hairball season here at my house as both cats are leaving me piles of stuff to clean up... They both have been given some hairball remedy. I need to get some laundry done today so I may hide in the train rooms while that is getting done and try to ponder what I need to do next.... I did get some WS animals to put over in the pasture I have been doing. Bought some more deer and bear as well. What I need is time and motivation!
Have a list of other things needing to get done today, so I won't sit here much longer.
Catch you all later!

Afternoon guys
Went to the trainclub this morning, to make use of the last runtime before the open house (next week). I finally figured out all the kinks with my train. I have 7 loaded accurail autoracks (I would have 8, but I need 4-5 more of the bachmann paticville cheapo station wagons), 10 various TOFC cars (2 Athearn RTRs, 2 Accurails, 2 Walthers, and 4 modified BB), a Front Range/Mckean Centerbeam (in CP, haven't gotten to decalling my BN one), my weathered 57' reefer, the 50' BN box I got from Robby P, an unidentified (E&C or LBF?) 50' high-roof SP box, and a McKean KCS ACF box. All with my 2 F45s and 2 SD45s (I really only need 2, but 4 just looks cool). I may change them for 6 Geeps during the show. All the final adjustments were gluing the swing arm on an accurail rack to the floor so it wouldn't droop, and adjusting a few truck screws on the athearn BB flats.
I tried my 2nd BLI NW2 again, and it keeps picking switches. I noticed the front truck was really tight, so I took it apart. Further inspection reaveled the wires for the front truck were pretty tight, so I adjusted them to be looser. Tracks fine now. I also discovered that the BLI NW2 may be able to support a beacon. I made 2 really neat observations when I took them apart. I noticed there is a 2nd LED for a cab light. Why IDK since it doesn't have a cab interior. With a version 7 chip in the both of them, I might be able to re-wire and re-program it to be a beacon. The 2nd is that the drive train in these are really low. Low enough that in the future, some of these could serve as the base for some yard slugs. IIRC, BN built some out of NW2s.
Well now that I'm home, my father has conscripted me to yardwork. Again. After about 18 years it gets really tired spending all my spare time on the weekends doing his work while he's inside...
Vincent
Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
Packer you could make ET-1, ET-2 or ET-3 If you do that with your NW2's.
Meanwhile I'm considering putting these MTL's together so I can body mount my Kato Amtrak E's and their 6 car passenger set. plus my Kato AMTK E9A is squealing, it's coming from the rear of the motor I just can't seem to figure out a way to disassemble the thing, might have to sell it and get a new one....

Hope everyone is fine. I must be getting older because I am beat.
Last night we did not get a good sleep because the grand kids were in and out of their beds and we had a relative early start for the show. The kids were really excited but did better than I expected. I picked up WS deer and some homemade trees (15). The grandkids wanted engineer hats so that's what they got.
Came home and they got their swim suits on then MOH caught the 5 yo urinating in the pool from the pool deck. Let's just leave it at that, and it did not go over very well and Quintin was not a happy camper afterword's.
The grandkids went home with Mom and I went to the club. On the way I stopped at Colonial Photo and Hobby (Orlando) for some Chooch flexible stone walls. They were out and the MRR items are really decreasing there. In the future I will call ahead to see if they have what I need. I really believe at some point they will quit being in the MRR business. I only stayed at the club a couple of hours because I was beat.
Tomorrow I go back to w**k again. Wednesday I have to go to my parents house and cut the grass since they are on vacation and Thursday I get to house sit my daughter's house when they have flooring installed.
Well I hope everyone has a good night and prayers for those in need.

It really wasn't very hard.
Hi Guys
Haven't been in for a week or so now. Its been so busy at work and am working 55 hour weeks so my free tie is just sitting on the couch and playing my PS3. Im also thinking about upgrading my LCD TV to a plasma. I have to replace the light in the laundry room tomorrow as sometimes you pull on the chain the lights comes on and other times not,lol I guess it gets pulled on a ton and they only last so long. But then again maybe I will just lay around all day and make it a next weekend project. I have alot of those, lol.
As far as any model railroading, well Its been zero for the last two weeks and I dont know if I will be back at the workbench anytime soon as my work hours are going to be like this for at least the summer. And in between work and enjoying the outdoors with the warm weather ( when it does decide to come ) will keep me busy. I might try to build a kit every now and then to keep the flame going but its right around this time the railroad shuts down for the spring and summer. I started to really get into mountain biking last year and am looking forward to longer rides this year. Plus with baseball and nascar and of course F1 thats my tv viewing for the summer. So MR takes a back seat until around Sept-Oct.
Got the layout cleaned up a little more today. Also gave my H24-66 and U30E645 a good run. Four of the FP7's are parked on the shop track.Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.
Went to the Curtiss Museum in Bath New York. Saw a wrecked P-40N that was brought up from Florida. Apparently it was involved in a midair back in '45. Sat in the swamp for about 40 years afterwards. Several other aircraft were also there. Models of the S-E-5, Sopwith with Snoopy in it, Fokker DVII, and a model of the Spad XIII that Rickenbacker flew.
Then went to the aviation museum in Elmira New York. There I saw an ill-fated father to the SBD Dauntless. Also had a German "Salamander", an A7 Corsair II, F-14 Tomcat, F-15 Eagle, A-10 Thunderbolt II, F4 Phantom II, MiG 21 and an Avenger.
Getting late, should head up soon.
Night.

Work Front I was there, the customer's where there, the New Services Manager was there and the $ where no where to be found. Think I made a whole $38.00, last Saturday I made $150.00.
Rio Grand SD 9 Front. This is the NIB SD 7 Rio Grand I bought from K-10 Thursday. I was thinking the racket was coming from the worm gear bearings last night and I am now 95% sure I was right! Tonight I sort of lubed (well oiled) the worm gear bearings. There is a crack between the worm gear cover and the truck on both ends. I held the engine so the upside down and titled and oil it. Engine ran better and quieter for a while, then the squeak came and went. My PK F3 A did the same thing.
So Sunday or my next day off I will try Hob E Lube gear lube. It is thick and maybe it will flow to the worm gear bearings. If not, I will have to open the engine.
See you all Sunday after work.

Ah... Jake? Last time I checked, the Curtiss museum is still in Hammondsport, NY. Bath is down the road several miles... So, did you check out the Model A Ford Pietenpol conversion done by my FIL while you were there? last time I was down there it was still sitting in the area with all the huge WWII fighter engines. Hope you got to see the Bath and Hammondsport Caboose sitting near the back of the parking lot as well. Hope you had fun!
Janie, I could sure use a cup of decaf right now.
Both cats are having hairball problems today and have left several piles for me clean up. They have both had two doses of the hairball remedy as well. Need to keep them on it for a few days. Poor Blackie has thrown up about 5 times in the last hour after being fine all day. I did manage to get a lot of odds and ends done today, including a couple washes.
Got to spend a few minutes in the train room pondering the solution of a height issue for the overpass of the road on the hillside i have been doing. The tracks gain height on a fill coming from the yard at Kanadaqua. I need to gain another couple of scale feet to make the scene prototype at all (aka: believable) and have now backed all the way to the turnout that splits the loop at the yard to be able to gain enough to do it. problem is the width of the "fill is getting close to what the scene will allow, and I'm not sure how to disguise the drop off if that is what I will need to do to make it work.... And I thought I had it perfectly planned!
Spent most of the day here at the computer printing out some materials and sending emails out to people. I should have just stayed w*rking, I guess! Tomorrow i hope to have a few hours of quality time down in the train rooms.... One can only hope, I guess.
My prayers for all in need!
Good Morning!!!
Coffee and the Mothers Breakfast platter please, thanks. (chuckle) that’s when you just eat whatever Mother puts in front of you, then if you complain you get the starving children in the world story.
Mostly sunny, with a high near 55.
Bob- Just got a new washer and dryer ourselves. Now that I can see a difference in our water bill. I’d say probably 5 bucks a month. Now….divide that savings into the cost of the machine….figure that into years and….well I doubt if the thing will last long enough to pay for itself. Next and only appliance left is the dishwasher and that….well I’ve been told they’re on sale… Oh and our freezer is a ’74 model. Except for the door seal, same deal. Never a repair and the thing runs in the garage, and I kid you not, you can’t even tell if it’s running. They don’t make ‘em that way anymore.
Welp, got a call Friday at 0730 when I started this post. Yup, breakfast meeting to discuss my…..requirements…... Requests…...things to do. For pay of course. There were a few building and facility repairs the health department “found” during their inspection Thursday. Things like, he thinks the screen door on the back doorway should close a bit tighter and there should be a chain on the door. OK. Then, there is a 2X6 attached on the ceiling of the men’s restroom. Now this board which is not a nasty looking piece of wood, has been there for maybe 2 years? Anyway, now this guy says it needs to be painted. Things like that and a couple things that we already knew about like the exhaust fan louvers that broke two days before the inspection and just haven’t fixed it yet. Doesn’t affect the fan or the closing of the opening when the fans is off, just looks strange when the thing is running. Oh and the owner wants a short wall built.
Saturday, I got a call to go and turn on the oven at w**k, well asked if I would rather. Which led to coffee and yakking and then almost noon, which explains the "Ok I'll meet you there". Doesn't take two to turn it on, and if you're gonna be there...., why call me? Oh well, got some Krispy Kreme donuts out of the deal. Then a text requesting me deal with some dogs after I got home, poked around here, then lunch then some more poking around, then next thing I know it’s time to get ready for w**k. Said I’d w**k last night due to a party they were doing so they’d need the extra help.
I was in bed by 1030, but woke up at 0200. Figured I’d stop in and see what’s going on and then well, since I started this on Friday, I’d just finish it now before Sun...make that Monday..
Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!!

Time is winding down as "Crew Change" is just a few days away.
Time to clean up the HO Projects and get the paper work completed. I'm hoping to get the MESS up and running within the next 2 weeks but I called my LHS and my bridge isn't in yet... Good thing I have a new Wrecking crane to retrieve the engines out of the river!

Good morning. It's 58° with 87% humidity. There's a slight chance of rain. The high will be 80°.Layout cleanup is going well. I can actually see the layout through the clutter. I should be able to get more of it put away or disposed of today depending on what it is. Some of it is tools that need to be sorted into their particular places. I may get started on the repainting of some of the FP7's today.
