Mornin' everyone!
Just a cup of Dark Roast Coffee to go, Zoe.
I have to get out the door to drive to Canandaigua for a Dermatologist appt. at noon. got up this morning early to pick up my son at the car repair place, and my left hearing aid was dead... On the way from dropping my son back home I stopped in at the hearing center since it was on my way home. Turns out they both just needed a good cleaning which they did on the spot...
Gotta go!

a funny for the day
Two little boys, ages 8 and 10, are excessively mischievous. They are always getting into trouble and their parents know if any mischief occurs in their town, the two boys are probably involved. The boys' mother heard that a preacher in town had been successful in disciplining children, so she asked if he would speak with her boys. The preacher agreed, but he asked to see them individually. The mother sent the 8 year old in the morning, with the older boy to see the preacher in the afternoon. The preacher, a huge man with a deep booming voice, sat the younger boy down and asked him sternly, "Do you know where God is, son?" The boy's mouth dropped open, but he made no response, sitting there wide-eyed with his mouth hanging open. So the preacher repeated the question in an even sterner tone, "Where is God?! Again, the boy made no attempt to answer. The preacher raised his voice even more and shook his finger in theboy's face and bellowed, "WHERE IS GOD?!" The boy screamed & bolted from the room, ran directly home & dove into his closet, slamming the door behind him. When his older brother found him in the closet, he asked, "What happened?" The younger brother, gasping for breath, replied, "We are in BIG trouble this time! God is missing, and they think WE did it!"

Morning All, well it is still morning here in the west.
Currently 44 with an expected high of 72, under pleasant skies.
Day off so need to do laundry, grocery shopping, and layou w**k.
Finding stuff I put away in a safe place is always dangerous for me. Tore down my last layout in 2005 when we bought this house, and packed everything away nice and secure. Because of different circumstances, did not get around to starting a new layout in ernest until last spring. By that time I forgot which boxes had what layout stuff in them. Still looking for several items. Will probably find them when I have a garage sale later this spring to clear out some stuff I am sure I no longer need, but will find I do actually need next year, and then cannot remember they went in the garage sale.
Prayers to all in need.

cudaken Jeffery, I am sure you have a cure for this problem! How do you reattach a truck side cover when the mounting pin breaks off? Engine in question is my Athearn BB E 7. Got any spare side frames?

Well I was going to use the new tractor today to move my old fridge out to the road for pickup. When I went down to get it I found that it wouldn't move. Not forward or backward. I looked underneath and found that the drive belt has been burned up. It was running fine the last time I used it and had no drive problems. And it's obvious to me that it's been moved since then, so that means somebody used it and couldn't keep their darn foot off the brake pedal. I've told the other family members many times the brake isn't for stopping under power. It's only for parking and to keep the tractor from rolling while in neutral. Period. Some of them can't get that through their heads. If the responsible party doesn't step forward and pony up the money for a new belt I'll put a kill switch on the ignition system so only I can start it. I'm tired of this 'somebody else will fix it if I break it' crap!
Good afternoon, feeling better now.
No homework again tonight. Just got a new reaserch paper topic for English class. The next paper simply has to be about literature in some form or another. I am going to do this paper on "The Last Dogfight". Good book. Should work well.

Why is it that they always quit when you are in the vehicle or somewhere that you either don't have spare battries or no clean em out do dads or no wax guards? I hate that.
Which reminds me, I have to make an appointment to get my hearing checked again in prep for getting a set of new ones. Sure glad I don't have to pay for the little suckers or for the batteries that go in them

Coffee and a slice of Key Lime pie, please.
***Jeffrey, why wouldn't the culprit tell you they did that unless they felt guilty for using it in the first place? That's extremely inconsiderate on their part.
Picked up a few weathered (HO) boxcars on the-bay last night. One of them looks very cool to my eyes. Just hope they roll and couple well.
Finished seeding those areas I've cleared out. The replacement teeth and pins arrived today for the Sports Car (excavator) but that can wait for another day. Time for some R&R.
Cheers! Rob

Jeffrey- temper, temper!!! And, I can assure you, sir, I did not do it.
Willie: one guy name his kids "Not Me", "Nope" and "I don't know" JUST so that when they got older, and started using such phrases, their names would actually mean something.!!!

HO and N Scale.
After long and careful thought, they have convinced me. I have come to the conclusion that they are right. The aliens did it.
So it's been "Production Day" around here today on the RR. Been making bunches and bunches of 2 X 4 inch rectangles from 1/16" Masonite into which I drill 2 holes for momentary on push buttons and 4 - 1/16 inch holes, one in each corner of the rectangle. I've not done 24 with more to be done when I receive another 24 push buttons.
What on earth is he doing you say? Well, these will be mounted over openings in the fascia when it eventually goes on. They are the controls for all the twin coil switch machines. Being all gimpy with arthritis makes it really hard for me to do "under the bench work" stuff and this means I can do the soldering standing up or sitting on an office chair. More work... Yup but way easier on my ole body.
I also sprayed a bunch of chloroplast flat black the other day and cut it into strips to use as tunnel lining. Just need to figure out how to attach it to the sides of the road bed. Any ideas?????
What else.... hmmmm oh yes, I've changed out my Digitrax DB150 that I've been using for a command station and am replaced it with a Digitrax DTS 100. Now I have no idea what I am going to use the DB150 for. Probably use it as a booster out on the far reaches of the layout. Doesn't seem to need it but what the heck, since I've got it I might as well use it That is what I get for ordering the wrong thing in the first place.... Sigh!
Well, gotta run over to Canadian Tire for some pinstripe tape in red and green to put on those nifty push button boards.

She know 3 months in ADVANCE that she MIGHT be busy. That sounds life a very iffy answer to me. Maybe she hates getting a crick in her neck from watching airplanes way up there
Keep those fingers and toes crossed!
Work? Don't know, but probably figures that something with Keystone might come up. She is going for a degree that seems to require summer classes. And yes, I will keep those toes and fingers crossed.

Evening y'all!
Flo, all this 80 degree heat has got me parched,,,,got any cold lemonade ??
My Lima C420, which HAD been quiet as a mouse, has developed a cracked gear. So after doing a little research I was off to my LHS for a few supplies and to order the gears from Northwest Short Line. From there, did some gardening and then worked on the triplets for a bit. Cab glass need to be installed yet, and the headlight LED position in the hood needs to be reworked, so we don't have the "cab on fire" look! They should be done in time for WPF!
Son #4 called from college. He has just finished his thesis (35 pages) and has been mulling over his postgraduate studies. He's made his decision, he's going to spend the next 2 years in China! He spent a semester there last year, and is quite comfortable with the idea. I gave him my blessings (I'm sure there will be a check or two in there) under 1 condition. He must find an HO Bachmann QJ (latest production run) at a cheap price and send it home to Dad.!! I'll repay him of course, or front the money either way, but it's got to be cheaper than the blood money they want on fleabay.
He's the tall Anglo with the ,,,umm,,,different fashion sense. Plaid shirt & green shorts? Ugh! This was last year in Tiananmen Square.
Jeffrey Honestly, I didn't break the tractor, but give me a chance, tomorrow I might try to cut my own, and Mr Murphy might help me put another on the disabled list!!!
Well, I'm gonna slide in a booth, prop my feet up and check my eyelids for holes

NCE über alles!
Evening All,
Had spaghetti for supper and just finished a cup of coffee.
I received a bunch of castings from Lee in the mail today. Lumber piles, stacks of grain sacks and PRR concrete bumpers. He did excellent work as he always does
I decided to spray the bright green trees with Valspar clear flat spray then sprinkled different colors of WS foam on them and they came out OK. Most will be in the background.
Karl- It looks like your son will have a great adventure. I wish him the best.
Jeff- I guess I missed something in the Diner about something being broken.
Hope everyone has a good night and prayers for those in need.

Jake ..... I was reading your conversation with Can Dennis ...... Perhaps, in the next 3 months you can butter her up taking her to something she really likes. Act like you are having fun even if it is something that bores you out of your skull Good luck
Fergie .... Hmmmmmm Perhaps you should have painted all the parts a non-gray color prior to working on them in the cabin.
Karl ... Nice photo with your son and other young guts. Bet you are proud. Can your son get some carry out Chinese food for Todd? I'm sure he would like some.
Curt .... Did you say the opther day you had a problem with the Forum private messages?
Good to see everybody is busy in the diner.
I worked in the layout room to make room for adding my next section to the layout. This required moving stuff out of the way. A home=made lumber rack was dismantled and wood is being salvaged for some of the benchwork to be byult. I still have some remaining unused wood, too.
For fun, I've been running the 2-10-2 with Sountraxx Tsunami sound. Chuf. Chuf.

One belt later and the tractor is running again. My nephew and one of his friends used it last so he (nephew) fixed it. There were a couple of anxious minutes after he started it and pulled the drive lever back for reverse. It didn't move. Little wonder. The safety release for the trans-axle was pulled out and locked. I unlocked it and pushed it back in. It moved then. He drove it in a few circles in the back yard then parked it making very sure he didn't touch the brake until it was in neutral. Seems he can still learn some things.Had dinner with my father this evening. Pinto beans, rice, corn bread. Afterward we watched wheel of fortune then I came back home.Looks like the weather may get nasty tonight. There's a cold front moving across east Texas and it should be here in an hour or so. The weather guesser is moaning about lows in the low 40's and possibly a 90% chance of rain with heavy rain and gusting winds possible. It could be an interesting night.
Evening All.
Jeffery, I get that kind of stuff at w**k all the time. "Do Not sell the display models, all the parts are not there." I say, over and over again. Someone sells a display, just to get their commission, and then I get a call from an irate customer looking for some part he did not get. I have no idea what part he needs and I am supposed to fix someone elses screw up. Very frustrating.
Got the l aundry done. Went grocery shopping and cooked up some sausage and peppers for a nice sandwich for tomorrow. Cooked the rest of the sausage just because I like Italian sausage. Then l got quite a bit done on the layout. Completed some more benchw**k, laid and wired some more track, and got a bit more ground cover finished.
jeffrey-wimberlyIt could be an interesting night.
Jeffrey isn't it bout time for those "twisty tornado things" to start up again? Seem to remember that. We're starting to get the darned things up here a lot more frequently than we did years ago. We had a 35 ft 5th wheel parked on a lot at a lake about 25 min. from here. About 11 summers ago, it and a whole lot of other ones got twisted into the lake and beyond. A Friday evening about 5 pm just when the weekenders were arriving. Lots of people hurt, a few deaths and a ton of damage. When the insurance on our unit came through, we bought a used trailer, kept it in the driveway over winter and sold it in the spring.
No way were we going back out there again!
Last summer we saw at least 3 of the beggers near by but they just touched down and went right back up. Hate the darned things.

MAKE it a GREAT day.
I get the spinal nerve pain injections today so I will be in a bit of a world of hurt before they actually take effect. Oh goodie. The Dr. is the only one I let stab me in the back when I'm not looking!
So I picked up a Bachmann Berkshire. #763 NKP Railfan. It was pretty easy to replace the stock decoder with another LokSound Select.I know it doesn't fit my model railroad prototype at all, but ever have the times you just *have* to have a certain locomotive?
