GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Just spent the last 1/2 hour searching for a container with about 50 momentary on minature push button switches. They sat on a corner of my workbench for months until I got carried away and put them in a container so they wouldn't get lost. Right... two months later and now I can't find the darned thing and have no memory of where I put it for "safe keeping".
It's things like this that make me think I well on the way to loosing it.
Well, back to searching high and low................

There was no mention of wind and rain in this mornings weather forecast. Now we have both. Isolated showers with winds of up to 35 mph. Out here by the lake there's a near 40 mph wind out on the lake and the white caps are rolling. Think I'll stay inside.

Got a few things done today I need to, but of course not all I had hoped!
Got the B&O SD 7 and 9 speed matched today. While I was speed match CV 5 it sounded like I was racing Bumble Bee's! When I got my first PK 2000 Rio Grand SD 7 I don't remember it making noise like theses?
Gary, Vince's and other PK 2000 SD 7 and 9 owners. Do your SD 7 and 9's make more noise than your other Proto engines with can motors? Main reason I asked is K-10 Model Trains has a new PK 2000 SD 9 Rio Grand (well NOS) and just don't remember the noise when my was new and not ran.
See you all later, Ken

That is exactly why I have 3 tape measures, 4 tri-squares etc. However
I found the missing push buttons switches about 1/2 an hour after posting my tale of woe. Right there on my train workbench under a box of Kleenex and labeled in BIG BOLD letters.... Push button switches.
I'm happy considering I paid about 50 cents each for them years ago and they a about $3.50 each now.
Cheers

A terrific day here with temperatures in the upper 70's, although a little overcast. Too nice to stay indoors, so the rest of the flower beds were cleaned up and I also got a Rose of Sharon thinned out. Think it needs to be cut back a little more though. After all that got done, both my back and my knees told me I'm getting old. So the wife and I think we will put in a lot more perennials instead of annuals this year. It's too bad because I really like so many of the annuals. There's just such a variety of colors and bloom sizes available. But I can see that spending all that time bent over planting them isn't going to be as much fun as it once was.
If tomorrow is like today, I'd like to give the car a good wash and interior cleaning in preparation to giving it a wax job later on in the week. But there is a possibility of thunder storms, so I'll have to wait and see how that works out.
Missed out on an engine on E-Bay that I was looking at. It was for a western Pennsylvania railroad that I don't have represented in my collection. It was a "buy me now" as well as open for bids, but I thought about it too long and when I finally decided to get it, a faster thinker beat me to it. Someday I'll learn to go with my first instincts.
Take care everybody.

I've got the temp of the new fridge set at 37 degrees. That's close enough. The freezer is -5. Again, that's close enough. They aren't absolutely perfect but as long as they keep my chimichangas, cheese, sandwich meat and fixings and my Cajun sausage fresh and doesn't freeze my insulin (stored in the crisper) that's all I need. The freezer contains more chimichangas and sandwich meat that's all frozen hard as rocks.Got all the couplers on the FP7's changed out and I replaced the front coupler retainer pins with screws. I've had instances where pins have fallen out due to vibration or whatever other reason.Time to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.
Evenin' folks!
Janie, just another decaf for me please...
I'm tired tonight and a bit sore from the exercise yesterday. My son called while I was busy printing the envelopes for the Scholarship dinner invitations tonight. Needs me to pick him up at a Service place where they get their cars serviced tomorrow morning at 9AM. He has the day off an will be watching his daughter (32) and has to be home before noon to meet daughter #1 at the bus as they have a half day of school tomorrow. I'm hoping they are putting a trailer hitch on the car so we can haul the trailer over to a teacher friends house to get the wood she is trying to save for us!
Barry, are you talking Koi there? I'd stock it with some large mouth Bass or bluegills. Something that eats well. Don't want to feed the birds huh?
Jeffrey, got the fridge working today? I wouldn't want to be without a working fridge down where you live! Around here you can still get away with just putting stuff in a cooler outside at night and it would keep pretty well as we are still getting temps in the low 40's high 30's at night.
Had a couple windows open to air out the house today. Got up into the low 60's for a couple hours. Felt good, but it won't last. raining out right now and supposed to have a few thunderboomers over night and for the next couple days. In fact just saw a flash outside....
Guess I'll call it a night and offer prayers for all of you in need out there in model railroad land...

after much consideration, I believe it was time for me to part with my B-mann ATSF northern and it's heavyweight passenger train(with a caboose). maybe I will get a GN caboose from selling it, I think I may also end up parting with my CC E7's and replace them with custom F units once I get them.

MAKE it a GREAT day!
Good morning.
Much the same plans today as the past few days. Not much else. Been feeling too run down the past few days to work on the 109, P-38 or layout. Hope to be feeling better by this weekend.
Morning guys
Gotta work again today. After work I have to pick up my meds, then call athearn about the SD40-2 snoot handrails. Then I might finish up some more kits I have.
Ken, Is the motor in the other B&O loco lined up right? The noisiest one of my SD7/9s (not counting the sound one) has a slight growl. They use mounts like the old athearn BB locos, and you might want to clean out the trucks as well. I think in one of mine I messed with the thrust washers and wound up setting aside one of the P2K ones for an atlas one (which are a little thicker). Jeff can probably tell you more about that one.
Vincent
Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....
2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.
Good morning. It's 71° with 94% humidity. It will be cloudy with a fair chance of rain. Looks like the high will be 82°.Only plan for today is to work on cleaning up the layout. Looks like it'll be wet outside so I'll be staying inside as much as possible.
Up here in what is considered Up Nort in MN, we have 26 F, with a high projected on 38 F. Going to be mostly cloudy. We have 12-18 inches of snow in the yard, this is down from around twice that of two weeks ago. Guessing; but, I'm thinking the lakes all still have 2-3 feet of ice on them. They are predicting 3-5 inches of snow tomorrow and snow not quitting until Friday sometime! This is a better forecast than the Twin Cities, who are supposed to get anywhere from 6 to 13+ inches over the next couple days!
Normally, the snow would be gone by now and we'd be seeing some 50-60 degree days! However, there is freezing rain along with this late snow storm and I am thankful we're not seeing that!

Occasional showers and thunderstorms. High near 73. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Some could be strong to severe according to the local guessers.
Yesterday was a mini day of stuff. Spent all day doing little things.
Well, Brenda made it back fine and in one piece. All in all she had a good time. She said her Sister acted like a fool, but that’s par for the course.
Not sure just what I’ll do today. Finish the laundry I suppose and I have to go to town, then probably oughta see if the generator starts sometime in there just in case.
Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!!

Nothing but rain in our forecast here...and it is doing just that. Raindrops keep falling on my head...
Got a whole lot of nothing much going on here today...'cept getting some housecleaning done. That I is doing right now....
Ray: Geese are fine...Swan....HHHHHHHHHHH...that is basically what it does with me, just hisses and acts belligerent.....then chases me back into the house...LOL!!!
Morning All,
Not much happening. Getting ready to go outside to clean gutters. High today 86 F.
I received some trees in that are too bright green for my fall motif on the layout. Any suggestions on how to darken them?
Gary- I got rid of a lot of equipment before Xmas and have not missed it.
Jeff- That's a great little playground.
Ulrich- Sorry to read about your Dad.
Hope everyone has a great day and prayers to those in need.

yeah, hopefully I can get enough from the set.
Went grocery shopping. bought little, but sure added up! Almost out of food stamps and only hte 10th of the month!!!
MOH went off to do grocery shopping for FIL and MIL. So, off to do his bidding MOH goes, besides MOH wanted to stop by the old store to get a letter of reference from the assistant manager there.
Will do some laundry now.
last night horrendous T-storms came a callin' here . MOH was surprised how violent they got. MOH has always been at work when they hit and here they sound like 747 jet engines sitting on top of the roof! At work, the sound dind't seem as loud as here, nor does it do as much damages at MOH's {old} work.
Well, off to do chores...
Chocowillie: So, I'll ask the question that I get asked. "Did you look in the place where you last put them?" Really??? Ya nothing worse then putting something a in a place so you know where they are when you look for them, only to find out it was put in a spot "SOOOoooo" good you can't find it! It's also the reason I have 6 tape measures and a whole host of redundant tools. Not to worry you'll find the switches when you give up, buy new ones and start looking for another missing item... 3 months from now.
Speaking of loosing things I've been modelling two Pulp Wood Cars by Tichy all made of grey parts... care to guess what colour the carpet in my cabin is Yah! looks like I'll be making some spare parts to replace the lost ones.

Coffee in a SUNNY SOUTHERN mug, please.
The (HO) Kato Unitrack I bought for making gentle curves (for the couple larger locos I ordered) will require 6' of table just to make a 180 degree turnaround. WOW! Might not have room for a sofa in the train room by the time I'm done.
Going to get the cleared areas I've been working on seeded today before the potential strong storms tomorrow. Will be nice to finally rest after a week of very challenging (for me) work.
Have a good day all.
Cheers! Rob

Flo, Diet Dew pleases.
Well I did it again! Got ready for work to early! Way my starting times very it is easy to get confused I guess.
Jeffery, I am sure you have a cure for this problem! How do you reattach a truck side cover when the mounting pin breaks off? Engine in question is my Athearn BB E 7. Got any spare side frames?
Well, it is that time again for real, off too work.
