Evening All,
Just got back from a restaurant our daughter and her family took us out to.
Good news on the layout front. I found the sneaky wire that was feeding power to the TT loop. After moving it I was able to isolate the buss without issue. Looking at the lead from below it looks like it belongs to a storage track (I assumed) but when I checked on top it was obvious that it was a approach track. So something that was frustrating to me is fine now. I also painted the Milk Station (white blobs will be clear when dry).
Gerry- Awesome scene in WPF.
Rob- Congrats on the loco. Is it the port hole version?
Stan- Excellent videos in WPF/YouTube. I was pretty sure it was a Diner making them, I just wasn't sure who it was.
Hope everyone has a good night and prayers for those in need.

I went to the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery today and registered for internment there when that time comes. There are after all many more days behind than there are ahead. I hope I don't have to make another trip to town and back before the first of the month. I'm pretty low on gas. With that minor chore done I went to my fathers place and had lunch with him. Chicken pies, mashed potatoes, corn, broccoli and some small potatoes about the size of walnuts. I then talked him into letting me have his Blue-Ray player. He's had it for a couple of years and never once opened the box. It was one of those things my mother bought on QVC. She was always buying stuff just to be shopping. I have it hooked up here and it works great! Very little done on the layout today.Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

DC, DCC - I made the switch to DCC I guess back in 1998 or so. I bought a Digitrax Big Boy system. I only have 7 locos, all but one are Athearn BB, the oldest, a GP9 SP I bought in 1980. I recently put a Tsunami decoder in that one. All work fine and I have never had any real problems with the system. Just thought I woull add my Aslo my layouts have been rather on the small size, around the wall types in 14 X 16 foot rooms or there abouts.

Evenin' folks!
Janie, just a cup of decaf for me right now.
Been busy getting ready to spend the day at the Boy Scout Camp tomorrow with the handicapped troop. I am chauffeuring their regular commissioner out for the day, so they will have double trouble I think! I also got the Division Newsletter printed and all set to mail. Probably won't get it to the post office until Monday, but at least it is done.
I am scheduled to usher at church Sunday for Palm Sunday. Part of me wanted to say no, but it is lady (a former student) who asked me and it is her first time as head usher. I always enjoy being an usher anyway....
Found out the girl who died (daughter of a former teacher I worked with) had a pulmonary embolism. Only 55 years old.

Work Front. I was there, the customers was there and it has been a fair week.
jeffrey-wimberlyDisconnect the motor wires from the board and connect them to the orange and gray wires of the decoder. It'll work. If you can't do it send it to me and I'll do it.
OK Jeffery, you got me all Dennis now. If I unhook the motor wires from the board and only wire the decoder motor wires to the motor (rest of the decoder wires are hooked to nothing), how is the decoder getting any power?
Now if I hook the Decoder motor wires to the board and the motor I sort of see the decoder getting power?

Hi Gary,
Kalmbach has a couple of books out that should help you in that regard. "Wiring Basics" I believe it is.
It is really simple once you get the concept.+ Find it in the banner at the top under
"special issues" or search the site for that title.
Or under shop, you can find a digital download of this for less money
I think that should be your next step. It will be the best $6.00 to $20.00 you've ever spent.

Today? A quiet day is planned....no runnin' 'roun' doin' stuff...hopefully, that is....

Good morning. It's 60° with 100% humidity. The high will be 75° and there's a fair chance of getting wet.No hard and fast plans today. I might do some cleanup work on the layout later. Otherwise it's looking like stay off the feet kind of day.
Morning All,
Currently 25 with an expected high of 54 under mostly sunny skies.
This is my weekend off w**k, the paying kind that is. I have to go to the daughters' house (actually it is my house, but they rent it, kinda-a-sorta) and fix the sprinklers in the back yard, bring my ladder and help trim the apple trees and grape vine. Since I should be in the truck, I will stop at Home Depot and get a sheet or two of foam for the layout. My local Lowes does not stock the foam board, and the nearest H.D. is 38 miles away, near where I w**k, but I usually do not take the truck to w**k.
May get some modeling in this evening though.
Anyone hear from Ulrich?
Prayers to all in need.
Extra strong coffee in an Undecorated mug, please.
***Curt, it's been so long since I pre-ordered it, afraid I don't remember which version it was. It will be "undecorated" so I can add my own company name to it.
Cool layout pics posted in here. Nice night shot, Jeffrey.
Other than minimal farm chores, going to rest today. Have a good day all.
Cheers! Rob
Afternoon all -
Well, as luck would have it, nothing has been done in my efforts to start building a layout this weekend. I've determined that I need to tackle my messy basement 1st. It needs a major cleaning and organization so that's been my focus since yesterday afternoon. I've also gotta make some room in my garage for a bunkbed that my g/f needs to take back to her mom's place in Canton OH, so that's where I'll start today. Once the bunkbed is in the garage, I can then continue with the organization/cleaning of the basement, which will ultimately lead to me being able to build a layout in my familyroom.
So, off to the garage I go. Hope everyone has a great Saturday. to those who need them.
Take careJP

And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010

Good Morning!!! …errrrr….yah, morning still I guess. At least here anyway.
Dr Pepper and a pulled BBQ pork sandwich, sweet potato fries and some coleslaw please, thank you.
Ok, sinuses in my head is about to explode and here’s why.Yesterday, the temps got to 37 on the therm-o-meter outside. Now for what the NWS has to say…..Today Partly sunny, with a high near 50. Tonight Snow, mainly after 2am. Low around 31. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Sunday Snow. High near 34. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible. Sunday Night Snow. Low around 26. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible. Monday Snow likely, mainly before 8am. Cloudy, with a high near 35. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Then BACK to the 40’s and steady increase to 53 on Saturday. The day of the Easter egg hunt. Any good recipe’s for Groundhog stew?
Oooooo! Wonder Woman….(sigh) and she still looks pretty hot even to this day….
JP- Sorry not so great with the girlfriend but hey, best this way than after a couple years marriage. As for the Video Plus package, I doubt it. From what I see about it, I would gain very little from what I can get for free from the internet in the first place. Just my opinion. Fine for those that would want it.
Like I was saying to JP, to each their own and I in no way think anyone is “wrong” for ordering whatever they wish, but like the Dream it Plan it Build it things….I previewed one and said the same thing as when they put out those special magazine issues. To me for the most part, it’s just a reprint of what I’ve already seen. And to those who save the mags, they already have. They just package it different and charge me again. But like I said, some like Ford, some like Chevy, some like Dodge. Something for everyone to make them happy is okee dokee with me. But…. I guess you could say it’s the Readers Digest version of the year and well….. Quicker to find something maybe and sure takes up less room.
Ken- Ah, I’ll probably go to DCC in the not too distant future I suppose. Even tho it’s just me, I can see the advantage of being able to move a train onto the same track as an existing train even if just to move out of the way.
Oh that reminds me. If I were to run two trains at once, say one just cruising around the layout while I was jogging another around doing who knows what, would I need two throttles? Or can you just set one on like autopilot and switch addresses to another and hope nothing requires you to stop the runaway train powering towards it's doom real fast. My luck.
Chris- Well a lot of people use the spray bomb stuff so ….Not sure just how they deal with the pigment without making it look like it’s been dipped and details obscured, but they do and very well so it must not be too hard and a heck of a lot cheaper to boot.
You’re right Garry, no more garden omelet for me….too gritty.
Flip- You’re right. I smiled at how true the not worth waiting for statement is. Brenda had Carpel tunnel in her elbow of all places here a few months ago….shoot maybe longer now that I think of it .
Ray- Prayers for the family as well. Another one way too young.
Well I did get to w**k on the interior a bit yesterday. Yup, it's gonna be a three footer. Maybe four. Luckily the way it's situated on the layout, you won't see inside the thing too well as the wall of windows will be facing away so without a mirror you won't see much. Also I found that I seemed to have left a brush uncleaned and well, it’s a stick now. I do like going to Hobby Lobby for some things and brushes are one of them. They have a good selection of brushes and several levels to choose from so I get a happy medium. Leonardo DaVinci I ain't so I don’t have to go all $700 for a brush, but better than the cheapo’s at Wally world which I do buy for certain things. Both, and I hate to say it I really do, but both are better deals than I can get at LHS’s. Anyway gotta get a movin it’s getting about time for Brenda to want to go into town. Groceries you know and….eats.
Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!!

How's the layout relocation going, Rob? Any photos yet?

***Terry, nice layout you have going there! As for your question, it's still in destruction/removal mode for the (N) shelf layout. Not much left of it, boxes and shelves full of stuff, most of which I will sell off to help pay for the (HO) expansion. Decided to build from the existing (HO) layout and save the massive trouble of moving it. With 2 hired hands and jacks, should be able to raise up the (HO) table to 40"(?) and then start building extra (smaller) tables to fill the room. As for the (N) stuff, I will make a small coffee table layout for my small library, so I can keep and run my favorite trains in that scale.
Today I am spending gluing back together various windows and parts from recently acquired buildings on the-bay. Will eventually try my hand at weathering. One part of the new (HO) addition will be a very old, run down looking industry heavy town. Just the opposite of the current bright plastic town of Sherman's Crossing. (still trying to come up with a new name for that one)
OK, back to work I go.
Terry- Looking great mate!

Evening guys
Been out of town all day at the car show trying to sell some stuff. I sold all of the stuff I brought to sell. The weather for most of the day was okay. Around 2 it started to rain so we packed everything up (epecially the electronic stuff), but it was light and went away in about 15 minutes. Set back up and right as everything was set up, I noticed a band of quick moving dark clouds and thunder. Hurried to get everything packed back up but wasn't quick enough. It came down, and to say it came down hard was an understatement. If felt like some guy had made a paintball minigun and was in a helicopter just raining down. Our site was turned into a 2" deep puddle in a few minutes. We decided to head home because it was almost closing time and the rain hadn't let up. My father is going back tomorrow, but I have work.
I used the money I made to buy a bulk pack of kadee couplers, some faller glue, a miniture air eraser, and a plier set (apparently you can't just buy the small square-end pliers)...

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

Been working on an English term paper all day, about John D. Rockefeller.
Also got some great body work done on the P-38J Lightning. Pretty dusty right now. *achooo*
Had meat loaf for supper tonight.
Did not accomplish much today. Watched the grand kids for a couple of hours and ran a train for awhile. I go back to w**k tomorrow. I am starting to feel better than I was.
Gary- Hope you feel better soon.
Terry- Your layout looks great

Hope everybody has a good night and prayers for those in need.
Evening Dinners!
Flo, Pleases.
Weather Guessers here have us all Dennis'ed. Today was very spring like with a high around 55. But Sunday they are calling for 4 to 8 inches of snow? With it being so unlikely to happen, more than likely it will!
OK Jeffery, I have got it this time around! I see it will save some soldering, I just wished I had bought some decoders with the 8 pin plug that wires where longer. Hum, never mind I just spotted one I all ready had.
Bank Of Stupid Front Got a letter yesterday from the Fed's stating I will be getting a settlement for the way BoS has been handling there VA loans! While I don't think it will be much, something is better than nothing! It will go toward relocation.
Vince's There is something wrong with the GP 20! It is still working! Must be because it was warm today.
Ulrich my friend, God Speed and hope to see you on the site soon!
