Evenin' folks!

Janie, just a decaf for the moment please...

Terry and Curt, thanks for the comments.  Except for the "real" rocks, they are all made with hydrocal using rock molds (Not sure what company).  The color is WS Slate gray diluted about 2.5 to one (water to paint).  Today I did some highlighting of them with a mix of model flex sand and some reefer gray diluted with 70% alcohol to make a thin wash.  Photo tomorrow I hope.  I wanted to pour the stream using Envirotex Lite, but I seem to be out of it and by the time I got to go downtown the place I know usually has it was closed for the day (10 minutes early I might add).  Locally owned and operated Hardware store that has all those things you used to get from those places many years ago still in stock.  You just tell Vinnie (yup, that's his name), he scratches his head for a bit, then says "follow me" and you go down a couple of aisles where he picks up a package, blows the dust off it and says, "this what you want?"

Jeffrey, glad you got hot water back on and hope you can get the other item to flush... Whistling

Today, the Code Officer came over, looked around a bit, took some pictures and looked at red safety tags on equipment, nodded his head a few times, and said I will be getting the Certificate of Occupancy in the mail early next week!  Yep!  Finally, the solar voltaic installation has been finished, certified, inspected, detected, neglected, blessed by the power company, all the I's have been dotted, the T's crossed, and I am finished with this!  Well, I will be as soon as they send me the final bill and a check goes into an envelope and into my mailbox to pay for the whole thing.  Biggest difficulty was being patient while the whole process took place.  I made the down payment in June and had spent a couple months researching the idea before that.....  Been a long Summer (and Fall).  I am anxious for the maple tree in the neighbors front yard to decide to drop it's leaves.  5 weeks ago it just shaded a couple inches of the lowest panel, now it covers the whole side of the roof for a couple hours every day.

Hey Ken!  Why do cellists so often stand outside peoples homes for a long time?  Because they can't find the key and they don't know when to come in.   Know what the latest crime is in New York City?  Drive by Cello recitals!

Have a good night everyone.  Prayers for those in need!

It's beem a really active day for me. I was on my feet most of the time. Plumbers came in and did their thing and I now have hot and cold running water. That feels great!

Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Good Evening,

First trains, let me see, it was an Athearn F7 (Burlington) with Hi-Fi drive, a BB box car (C&NW) and a BB caboose that I got in the summer of 1958. I put Kadees on them as I didn't like the horn/hook couplers. I still have the F7 which still runs and the box car. For a power pack I had a Marx transformer and a recitifier for DC.

Jeff, glad to hear your plumbing problems are largely resolved.

Ah, the car repair cost problem. Personally I just take mine to the dealership. They charge but have a great reputation for customer service which I have always found to be the case.  A co-worker has a relative who works in the M-B shop and says that their motto is 'do it right' and don't worry about the time. That comes right from the management. Not sure that is the case where I go but in 12 years I've never had the impression that "I've been had". I do know a little about cars so that helps and also the dealership is owned by the same company we lease our company cars from and I'm in charge of those leases. Only had to use that once but it did work.

I have been doing a little work adding some ballast to my HO and generally fixing up a few scenery bits that were bugging me. I have started a little on the N scale and have decided to just concentrate on one area at a time. The first project is the roadway coming out of the underpass and surrounding scenery.

We've had a nice few rainy days here but it has finally stopped. The official rainfall recorded at the airport was about an inch but a bucket I had in our backyard has 2" of water in it and the pond that I had pumped dry on Tuesday now has 3-5 " of water in it. Sometimes I wonder what goes on at the airport. Maybe those jets taking off blow away the rain and also warm air as it is always colder there.

Well time to head to bed.

Good Morning Folks!

The night was not too bad, only woke up once! It´s going to be a fine day, at least in terms of the weather.

Flo, I am hungry, how about a weekend special breakfast, with scrambled eggs, hot cakes, sausages, bacon, mushrooms, buttered toast, a glass of OJ and lots of coffee?. Thank you, dear.

No plan for the day - might go and see my friend Lothar to get an update on his shipbuilding activities. He has started to take down his layout, salvaging as much of the track as possible. He´ll be selling it on the "bay", as I finally could persuade him to get rid of that Marklin track and convert to 2-rail DCC.

Garry - I like those pictures, Boy, are those geese flying low!

Galaxy - I don´t know whether my English is sufficient for either one of those jobs. My written English seems to be OK, but you´d probably laugh when you hear me speak. Remember the TV series "Allo, allo"? My English is like Herr von Flick´s, so when I´d call those debtor´s, it´ll go like this: "Vee haff vays off making you pay!" Smile, Wink & Grin

Actually, I don´t have much of a German accent. I sound more like an "Englishman in New York".

Have a good one!

Toto, follow the Yellow Brick Road to...

Morning Coffee in the Diner

GOOD MORNING!!!

Every once in awhile we hear of someone who's name is Mud...SO:

Meaning: You  are unpopular

Origin:

In May 2010, BP tried to cap the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico by plugging the leak with heavy mud. Had it worked, it might have given them some hope of limiting the damage to their reputation. As it didn't, the BP brand name is, more literally than most, mud. BP's CEO Tony Hayward has joined another villain of the collective American psyche, Dr. Samuel Mudd, who is widely reviled for his part in the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln.

Dr. Mudd gave medical help to John Wilkes Booth, who broke his leg while escaping after shooting Lincoln in 1865. Mudd was convicted of being Booth's conspirator, although the evidence against him was ambiguous and circumstantial, and many historians argue that he was innocent of any murderous intent.

Actually, whether Dr. Mudd was innocent or not is of little consequence in regard to the origin of 'your name is mud', as it was in general circulation long before Lincoln was assassinated. This citation comes from John Badcock (a.k.a. 'J. Bee’) in Slang - A Dictionary of the Turf etc., 1823:

"Mud - a stupid twaddling fellow. ‘And his name is mud!’ ejaculated upon the conclusion of a silly oration, or of a leader in the Courier."

If the phrase wasn't originally 'your name is Mudd', how did it originate?

Mud is exhaustively defined in the OED as "soft, moist, glutinous material resulting from the mixing of water with soil, sand, dust, or other earthy matter". The word began to be used in a figurative sense as early as the 16th century to refer to things that were worthless or polluting. That usage was later extended to apply to people, as listed in the 1703 account of London's low life, Hell upon Earth:

Mud, a Fool, or thick skull Fellow.

For reasons that are difficult to fathom, 'mud' later began to be used as a general intensifier. In the 19th century there are many printed examples of 'as fat as mud', 'as rich as mud', 'as sick as mud' etc. The combination of meanings of 'decaying and worthless' and 'extremely' was enough for the association of it with someone's name to become an insult - hence 'your name is mud'.

As something that is at one extreme end of the scale, like 'good' or 'stupid', mud features in many English phrases - 'dragged through the mud', 'mud in your eye', 'as clear as mud' etc. The one that BP has most cause to hope isn't true is 'mud sticks'.

Good Morning All:

Curt, I rode: FFG, DDG, CGC, PC, Dutch and British Warships.

Galaxy, I got the bank on the phone and everything is good to go, I wasn’t worried about it but it proves no bank uses common sense with its customers.

Jeff, sounds like you have had enough plumbing issues to deal with.  I need to go out today and fix the landscaping out front from the city’s repairs to the water valves.

Things to do today: Landscaping, upload to photo bucket, run to LHS, and work on the 4x8 layout.

Thoughts and prayers to all those in need…

Good morning all,

Tea, Earl Gray, hot......on second thought, senior coffee, one cream, two sugar, please.

With a frustrating week of job hunting behind me, it's time for a weekend.  Cloudy this morning but sunny by lunchtime, so my wife and I might go out to enjoy what's left of the fall colors and maybe take in a train or two on the UP Jefferson City Subdivision.  And, of course, there's piloting the synthesizers in the worship band tomorrow morning....always the high point of my week.

Watched the Cards roll over and play dead last night....Barry Zito is one fine pitcher!

As you were.

Well, I have been a busy beaver this AM already! the injections in my spinal nerves has me somewhat painless and off I have been going.

Ran the bills to the mailbox.  One more bill for the month and they are all done..and to pay the car insurance next Monday at the office. I don't know WHY they can't get tthe bill out to us sooner so it can be processed...

and did my morning walk.

Dishes are done.

Laundry is last load in the dryer.

Dusting LR is done..washed down some chachkies collecting dust that doesn't seem to ever end...

Now vacuuming is my next task...

Whew..sweating heavily already and the day hasn't warmed up yet!

Gotta change the air freshener in the minivan and empty garbage and put in the new registration sticker and do a few other things in it too. as soon as warms up I will...may do it before vacuuming... Should vacuum it too!

I am on a manic cleaning spree so don't stop me! Just as long as I take a few breaks I should be OK pain wise..though may pay for it tomorrow!

Off anf running..

Not a lot planed for the day, mainly paper work for BoS

Hope to work on a PK 1000 F3 that rear truck is making a odd screeching sound when moving. Now, if I hold the engine still while it is running, the sound stops? Have not been able to tell yet if the wheels are still moving when I hold it in places. Axles do not seem to be split. Any idea's Jeffery?

See you all a little later in the day.

Good morning ...... Oatmeal and OJ, please.

Ken ..... I suggest you swap wheelsets between front and rear truck on the F3. If the noise moved from one truck to the other, you have a problem with the wheel set. ... Perhaps cleaning and lubrication is all you need to do.

Welcome to Bill (Alpha___ ) ..... Good to see you.

John .... Nice model you posted in WPF.

Curt .... I like you engine terminal photo.

Morning All,

Just finished breakfast and drinking a cup of Java. Flo could you bring me a refill please?

Today I am pretty much on my own. I will go to the train club later which will be nice to see my friends again since it has been 3 weeks. MOH is doing something with my son about chef pants then she is getting a facial at 3 PM.

Lee- Look forward to seeing the new pic's. It looks like you had a more varied assignment history than me. All I did was SSN, SSBN, and 2 CVA's (for short exercises). The neat thing about the carriers is that I was both Helo and catapulted (COD flight) off of them.

Ken- That looks like a neat canyon.

Hope everyone has a good day and prayers for those in need.

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have a bowl of hot oatmeal w/ brown sugar, a coiuple sausage links, and a cup (or 3) of dark roast coffee to start the day.

Currently 53°F outside under "partly cloudy" skies...  yeah, right!  Not a bit of sunniness out there at all...  Dark, gloomy, and very gray.  I'm still waiting for the tree next door to decide to loose its leaves.  Funny the one next to it on thier property is completely bare and has been for a week, but not the one shading my roof.  Sigh

The mail just arrived....???  Normally it gets here about 4:30 in the afternoon.  Guess they have shifted the routes again.  Oooooo, hold everything, the sun just came out...  Gone again...

Have to head out to the old fashioned hardware store to see if they have Envirotex Lite in stock.  If not I see Lowes carries a knock off brand of what appears to be the same stuff.  I could give it a try as the water will be way in the back and mostly hidden anyway.

Hey Ken...  How can you tell if a cellist is playing out of tune?  When the bow is moving.

I best get moving (before Ken throws a violin at me...).

Later!

The only Proto trucks I had that problem with were the Kato type trucks. The only way I could get them to stop was by rebuilding them. The easiest route is simply to replace them.

Good morning. It's 67° with only 45% humidity. It'll be sunny with a high of 82°.

I was pretty active yesterday so I was quite sore when I went to bed. Couldn't get to sleep until around 2:30am and woke up at 8:45am. It's hurts just to move. Hopefully the stiffness in my joints will work out in an hour or so.

I got problem with the toilet fixed last night. The fill pipe had broken off of the flush valve. Fixed it with a five inch piece of PVC pipe and some JB Weld. I put several beads of the JB Weld around the top two inches of the PVC pipe then pushed it up into the fill pipe, turning it as it went so the glue was well distributed. I left 5/16" of the PVC sticking out. Let it set up for an hour then liberally coated the 5/16" section with the glue and carefully pushed it into the broken off base in the flush valve. Let that harden a couple of hours then installed the ring for the flapper and adjusted it until the flapper had the best seal. Job done. Forty some odd year old toilet still works. Macgiver strikes again!.

LSWrr:  It's amazing how single-minded banks (and hospitals, as Galaxy pointed out) can be with their procedures and computers.  That's why I've banked with a Credit Union for the past 43 years or so.  No problems with them.  Years ago we lived in a small remote town and had to deal with the local Big Bank for at least some of our banking needs.  They were continually messing things up and customer relations wasn't even on their radar.  I once bought something from a friend and paid him with a cheque.  I immediately transferred funds into my account to pay for the cheque.  The cheque came back to me as NSF.  It turned out that at the end of the day, they posted the debit of the cheque to my account before they posted the deposit.  I checked with my friend and he had cashed the cheque well after I had made the deposit.  They weren't interested in the fact that the money WAS in the account and charged me for the NSF cheque.  I may be wrong but I always thought that at the end of the day a bank processed all the deposits before the withdrawals.  I got better service from my Credit Union 500 miles away than I got from that local Big Bank.  I had my paycheques deposited to my Credit Union and every payday I'd write myself a cheque for cash and cashed it at the bank for spending money.  They hated that with a passion and never failed to tell me how much they hated it, but they had to cash the cheque.

JeremyB:  I hear you about panic attacks.  I get panic attacks in crowds.  I feel like the people around me are trapping me and preventing me from getting out into the open.  If it gets too bad, I'll head for the outdoors and just bulldoze my way through the crowd not caring how pushy or rude I get.  I've developed a few techniques for dealing with it, although I can't completely avoid crowds and I can't avoid the occasional panic attack.  In movie theatres I have to have an aisle seat, in restaurants I have to be facing the other tables and, if possible, have my back to the wall.  I avoid shopping on Saturdays and around Christmas time and I won't stand in long lineups.  I avoid a certain brand of coffee shops because they're always crowded to the walls and very noisy.  At family gatherings I try to sit off in a corner and take frequent walks into open areas.  Even writing about this now I can feel my blood pressure starting to rise.  We all have our problems and mine could be a lot worse than the ones I have.

Now, it's time I got busy and started preparing the stuff outdoors for winter.  There's lots of things out there which need to be brought into the house before the cold weather sets in for good.

Good Morning, Flo, I'll have a CAW mug of coffee (made with the beans that Bill T. brought in), and let's see... two waffles with maple syrup (the real stuff), a pat of butter, couple/three strips of bacon, and a glass of OJ, please 'n' thankyouma'am!

Ulrich, I don't think I'm related to von Bücher, but one of my earlier relatives served under his forces at Waterloo. I hear you about his crossing at an unexpected place - I think that's true of all the best generals/tacticians; they don't do the expected thing! Sorry for the confusion there. Hey, seven modules is an impressive collection! Thumbs UpThumbs Up And AngelAngel for your cold/sinus problem. I am not a fan of the post-nasal drip kind of cold - drains my energy big-time! Cute 'critter diesel' that you showed, too. If you had that type of German accent ("Ve haf ways..."), that might w**k quite well for a debt-collection call center... Whistling

Barry, your weatherguessers are just covering their - what's the word, Ulrich? - keisters. Whistling

Jeremy, sounds like one huge building where your job is. I hope also that THAT other place calls you soon... I have heard enough reports from people who do have panic attacks, and it sounds like they pretty much take ALL of one's attention, breathing and pretty much anything else when having one. Hope you don't have one (there or elsewhere) again.

JohnReid (or "John of the GWN"...)Smile, Wink & Grin - you have some additional nice photos on your PBucket pages. Indeed, sound accessories are becoming more common (and more variety). I've see a handful of different electronic modules with different sounds in the Walthers flyers over the past few months, so that helps a bit with keeping the cost affordable.

Lee, careful there - you're trying to figure out a governmental agency using logic... Smile, Wink & Grin Can you notify the city that the utility company messed up your sidewalk (file a complaint that documents when they did it)? That might help you later if somebody balks at getting it fixed (or keep more/all the cost out of your pocket). Just an idear... (Good luck with getting a real (and intelligent) person on your mortgage who can get the computer's logic back out of kilter....)[ditto] Jeff's comment about sloppy computer programming... And have you posted a diagram/picture of your 4X8 layout design? (Inquiring minds and all that...)

Jeffrey, it looks like your plumber's crew was one of their bettter/best teams, and they earned their money! Whistling Glad that seems to be w**king. Good to hear you got that toilet fixed, so you can get back to layout stuff. Definitely good to have hot water again! Your Dad was right about Macgiver...Smile

Todd, I'd disagree that your dog is dumb. Missy's just got you trained well... Wink

So Galaxy, you (unlike most of us) were not a "C.O.D." baby? Laugh May your stomach cramps stop, so you can (at the least) feel better, and maybe get some other things you need done today. AngelAngel Hey, it might be that YOH is having one of those "girls night out" things (but in the daytime...). Unless your birthday is coming up, right? Wink And you're decorating already for Christmas?Wink Oh, and what is a chachkie? That's a new one to me, unless you're using Ken's dictionary for spelling. Smile, Wink & Grin (just razzin' you both...) Ya got me curious, for sure.

Well (cold and not that much water in it...), the Cardinals did not win that fourth game they needed last night... Grumpy We are NOT amused.. We'll see if the Cards can get those bats w**king again on Sunday. Sigh  (Otherwise, we'll borrow the Cubs' saying: "Wait until next year...")

Ray, your saying about the cello reminded me of a music major's definition of "Perfect pitch": "When you toss the banjo into the dumpster without hitting any of the four sides..." Whistling (Hey, I like banjos, even if I can't play one.) Are your rocks there that dark, or is that just the photo looking that way? I'm used to medium-to-slightly-lighter grey for our rocks around here. Of course, in the Southwest, they have more 'warmer' colored rocks with tan, yellowish and/or some reddish colors to their rocks.

B&O Stan - nice photo! I can just imagine how much more impressive the photos on the calendar are. Yeah

HEY! Wow Duke woke up! Nice photo of... uh, would that be a Berkshire, Duke? WhistlingSmile, Wink & Grin And I see Garry 'chimed in' with some photos of his own. Cool! Looks like those Canadian geese got spooked by the train.

And Garry - very nice photo of your "Blackhawk" stop, and a nice set of ore Jennies, too. Thumbs Up What kind of DCC problem were you dealing with, by the way?

OzJim, maybe Elvis just wants attention (but doesn't jump up on your lap/keyboard, like Barry's Spring does..)?

Curt, glad that you specified for Ken and the rest of us, about which BS you were talking about. OopsSmile, Wink & Grin

SaronaTerry, I guess on a job there is pay, and there is Beer pay, eh? Whistling

JR, I think the gal with the 396 Chevelle takes the cake on your customer stories! Laugh What was her response when THAT was pointed out to her, I wonder?

CN Charlie, good to hear about your layout progress. Got photos? Yeah

AlphaDogBill - Welcome to the Diner! And yeah, Zito was in good form last night (alas for my Cardinals...). What kind of layout/MRR do you have (in mind/planning stages, or in process)? Fill us in please, and have a beverage on me. Thumbs Up

On-call today, so may be able to do some things at home with MRR stuff unless I get called out. I had seen (after my broadband was installed) a couple/three calls from Charter, but no message left. Wondering if that was checking if things were w**king okay. I think one was an 800 number, so I'll go look and see what that # was and call them back on Monday.

Other'n those things, not a lot planned for the day that can't be left in the middle of it (can't when I'm on-call). I may also resume trimming up/clearing out any duplicate files on my 'puter's hard drives, and free up some additional space.

Blessings and prayers,

Jim in Cape G.

Is it lunch time yet?  (Looks at watch....)  Not quite, so I'll just have another cup of dark roast coffee, please.

Bob, I completely agree with you on using the CU rather than a bank.  I have never had a good experience using a bank!  Never had a bad experience with my Credit Union.  I don't plan to ever give my money to the Billionaires who ultimately own the banks and make rules like have been mentioned...  I see Vinnie getting up so I will shut up now!

Barry, Why did the cellist marry the accordion player?  Upward Mobility!

Went down to the old fashioned hardware store on the main drag downtown.  Walked in and heard, "Mr. Howard, how are ya!"  The co-owner is one of my students from when I first came to Geneva.  I reached down on one shelf and picked up the box of Envirotex on the shelf, looking around to see if they had a smaller size.  they didn't, so i bought that one.  As i was being cashed out a hand patted me on the shoulder.  It was the guys Father who is the other owner of the store who also said hello and asked how I was.  Paid $10 off list price (Including tax), no shipping, and had a nice conversation as well!  I still like the old home town stores.

Later!

[edit]  OK, looks like everyone's lunch is on me today....  Go easy guys (and gal).

I'm not sure where I saw this link the other day, but if you like steam, you will surely like this site. It's web cams for the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. Around 10:00 this morning, an excursion departed as well as a couple of speeders pulling work trailers of some sort. That's their time. It was about Noon my time. Now I'm going to flipping back and forth between this web site and the Roanoke rail cam. Ain't the internet wonderful.  Tom

Well, the vacuuming is done. Took me about 2.5 hours to do...Its so hard for me to do anymore.. still have to go along the edges as the "edge cleaner " on the upright doesn't "edge clean" well! That will wait for tomorrow. The belt is slipping too..soon that will have to be replaced.

With a long haired orange puddy, that's a lotta hair in the catcher..I say that as it is a bagless.

Jeremy B..I am Bipolar with prominent features of depression and anxiety disorder, so panic attacks tend to rule my life. That is why I go grocery shopping at 7AM to avoid crowds..and won't go to Wally world anymore after 9-9:30 AM! I have my errands already done by 10 Am most of the time. I am also reclusive..meaning I rarely go outside..only to do my walking or to the mailbox. I LOVE being 'safe' with in my four walls.

I am beat now for the rest of the day, I fear...as the pain is setting in.I Can commiserate with Jeffrey on that one...

Time for a shower I am drenched!

Then onto lunch {Minestrone soup} and watching Flip this House Boston....

MOH should be home soon...Oh, JOy.

So..off I go to get cleaned up...

Hi Flo, I'm back again. I'll have a BLT and a RBF, please. Thank you!

Ray, I can't say that I would disagree at all with you - either about my experience with my CU, nor about how banks - on the other (back)hand treat ya...Whistling

PA Tom, thanks for the link! (Especially since the   Rio Grande is one of the RR's the CAW connects to) - in my version of the world, anyway!

Galaxy, if it's any consolation, my upright doesn't pick up well along the side. I've tried lifting that edge I'm trying to vaccuum, lifting the front edge when I try to get under kitchen cabinets, but not much of a difference. Probably may need to have it looked at, or start saving up for a replacement... And in case anybody was going to suggest a Kirby, I have had one (about like pushing a truck...). Smile, Wink & Grin Will keep you (and your pain level), as well as YOH in my AngelAngel that it's not something sinister.

Earlier this morning, I had posted a photo of my Mercer's building (which I plan to make into a watch sale & repair store, instead of the dry goods store it is described in the directions as being). I want to add some 'whitewash' washes to the walls, as it looks a bit further 'run-down' than I had wanted. Then start figuring how to do the interior, window 'glass' and signage. Hmm, a thought occurred to me, that I could make it a bootery. The size looks about right (IMHO...), and I could have fun making a boot-shaped sign to hang off the front...

I'll sit at the RC a bit and do some noodling and thinking a while...

I only really get any panic attacks when there is big change coupled with stress, It pretty much has to be a combination of the two. When I get used to something Im fine. I have never had a problem with social anxiety, just anytime there is a big change I get panicky, Im just glad the ones I have had have been short and go away. Haven t had one in years so thats good.

The day at work yesterday was great. The guy I was training with on Thursday kept telling me how the people and bosses on the afternoon shift were jerks and I wouldn't like them. But he was 100% wrong, I found them ALL to be great and nice guys. From what I gather from people is that the fellow on days cant get along with anybody and goes out of his way to tell others about how much he dislikes them, that's why he has been swapped between three shifts and hes only been there 8 months, lol. If I see him on Monday I might have to tell him I enjoy the guys on the afternoon and think there great, see what he says, lol

Good evening

jeremy- sounds like "normal" work politics. At one time MOH's immediate boss claimed she had "heard from other people 'thus and so and so and thus' " that "MOH was going behind her back". AN UNTRUE allegation. TO be sure,  I told MOH to NOT SAY ONE WORD to ANYONE ANYMORE, to just smile and say "it's going" when asked "how is it going?". Then, IF she pulled the "rumor mill trick" again, MOH could say "CALL them in here and they can say that I said that to my face". THAT ended her going to the Big boss and Claiming "the rumor mill has it that..and {MOH} said..." !!!! That way NOTHING MOH said could be misconstrued, twisted or remotely changed down the line.

Dinner was good, the first we've had in a long time since MOH hasn't been eating and I had the stomach bug  [which I think is over}. Dinner was 4 oz lean pork broiled, 1 Tablespoon of vegetable noodles, and steamed carrots. Yum. Honey mustard to dress the pig.

With The {clothing}  laundry all done, the bedding gets done tomorrow. The comforter is done, drying now.

I have to start at hte table top layout as it is getting that time of year.

They are INCREASING my secondary medical insurance coverage cost for secondary to 3.6 TIMES what it was! effective Nov 1. I have a seminar for health plans Tuesday. The problem is MOH's coverage was no longer available either as of 2 months ago, so MOH is now out of insurance too...and the new cost for work insurance for MOH is out of reach too..I wonder how much it is really going to cost us now...AN area hospital has  a program that covers their charges up to 350% of the poverty line {somewhere into the $50,000.00's} with a total or discounted break on their services. We will have to check into that and apply too. We are bummed. and hoping not to get sicker...yet. We are in sticker shock to say the least!

I'd better get hunting for the online application...

Sad

Hi, Diners!

46f and clear. A beautiful day!

Moh reminded me of a small train show about 40 miles away, stopped in after Service Saturday. My buddy who installs decoders was there with his club layout. Showed me a pair of Bachman Spectrum sd40s in GN paint, DCC on board he was holding in case I showed. Did I want'em? $30 each, I said sure!! He'll install NCE decoders for me and program CVs and consist them , too.

Total price when he's done? $80. Pretty good deal, I think.

Such a nice day out the wife and I walked out to the deer stand and sat for an hour or so to see what we could see.( till we ran out of beer) It was really quiet.  Very peaceful. Gun season's about a month away, 2 nice bucks in the yard this morning. Getting excited for opener!

Cape Jim, sometimes  I think Ken and I are the only diners who enjoy a beer now and again.Laugh

 Prayers for those who need'em!

The Silver CB&Q F is from my original train set my Dad got me for Christmas 1964.

It's a dummy now, though. I still have the cars and caboose on the layout ,also. Reminds me of him every time they run.
