I had about caught up on 5 or 6 pages of posts, hit the 'Send' button, and my local WiFi (as it is likely to do whenever it gets good and ornery...) sends me to OpenDNS, telling me that it cannot connect to the Diner(!).. Although it had been connecting just fine for the past five or six pages of posts, looking at Mark's layout plan, and catching up on what all has been going on in all the DIners' lives, it just gobbled up my post.

Type up your post in Notepad and save it to your hard drive. Copy it and paste it into the reply box and click post. If it gets gobbled up all you have to do is paste it again and click post. When you're finished delete the master copy from your hard drive. Works for me.

Afternoon, Zoe - just a RBF, please. Thanks.

Well (still fairly dry down there), I had about caught up on 5 or 6 pages of posts, hit the 'Send' button, and my local WiFi (as it is likely to do whenever it gets good and ornery...) sends me to OpenDNS, telling me that it cannot connect to the Diner(!).. Although it had been connecting just fine for the past five or six pages of posts, looking at Mark's layout plan, and catching up on what all has been going on in all the DIners' lives, it just gobbled up my post. Bang HeadBang Head

Ulrich, can I join you there? Feeling almost as frustrated as you are, I think. Sigh

Think I'll have a double on this RBF, please, Zoe. Thanks again.

Blessings and prayers (and some of us could use them, or some rain, or....),

Jim in Cape G. (and not happy with Mr. Murphy today)

I got a package in the mail today. Fairly heavy too. It turned out to be the items I traded the Y6B for. A Walthers Trainline Dash 8-40B, Two Athearn F7A's (one dummy), an Athearn F7A body (undec), two Bachmann FT bodies (A & B), two F7/F9 dress up kits and two Digitrax DH-123 decoders. I'm fairly certain some of those were birthday gifts.

I'm down to just three working steamers now. A Pemco 2-6-0, 70's era Bachmann 0-6-0, Fleischmann 0-4-0. The Bachmann and the Fleischmann are staying.

 Flo, Coffee Pleases.

I did drop by Monday but did not post. Getting down in the dump some. All so spent sometime messing with the medical stuff.

Only good thing in the last few days is Simon got the PK 2000 E-7 with sound back in working order! Thanks Simon!

Have some stuff I need to get done, so I will drop by later.

SD40-3? Ithoght those were alot more modern.

Some SD45's and SD40-2's were converted to SD40-3's. EMD never made an original SD40-3. The -3 represents an upgrade to computer control. I'm not sure when the first SD45/SD40-3 conversion came along but that didn't stop me from having one.

EDIT: I buy again....ugh...

Better start carrying a fire extinguisher for that credit card.

Jeff, you like KCS huh? I live on a junction between 4 of their lines.Cool

One of their main lines passes within two miles of here. Once in a while I can get into town to the museum to do some railfanning. Those trips used to be fairly often but now they're few and far between. I modeled the KCS at one time, general era as far as time goes with the late 70's as the upper limit. Biggest power was a small fleet of SD40-2's and an SD45/SD40-3. That was before I started playing around with my freelance version of the L&A had it not bought the KCS back in the 30's.

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have a Raisin Bran Muffin with lots of real butter and a few cups of dark roast coffee in a R&GV RR Mug.

So far a pleasant day here in the Finger Lakes Region of NYS..  Currently 76°F outside with a high in the low 80's this afternoon.  I will be heading out to Boy Scout Camp this afternoon for a few hours to visit a troop that I am doing the RR Merit Badge with.  May get a chance to sit down with a few of the Scouts and check off a couple items.

No word yet on the hard drive unit.....

Catch you all later!

Good Morning Modelers!

It's 64F and clear heading for the low 80's but I hear we are heading back to the 90's once again after today Sad

Got my latest RRAdventures travel Blog Entry posted from an outing we took on July 4th.  Here is just one of the places we stopped by on our travels...

Thanks, Garry!

I have more or less given up on finding a job. The bad thing is, that three years have passed without any positive reaction to my 1,869 applications I turned in during that time. That equates  to1.71 applications per day. Out of those 1,869 applications, only 276 ever saw an answer.

I honestly don´t know where to continue to from here.

Good morning, Diners.  I am gimping around after shutting a couple of fingers in the car door yesterday.  It is a good thing for auto lock remotes.  It was shut and locked.  Ouch!  I am going to try working today.  It is weird typing because one finger is still numb.  Ice, Ice, Ice.

MrB, I can't wait for the static grass tutorial.

Good morning. It's 72° with 100% humidity. The high will be 88° but will likely feel like 99°. There's a very good chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Nothing much going on today. Looks like I'll be ducking more thunderstorms. I have to do some work on one of my GP9 Frankenlocos today. Nothing major. I used super glue to hold the motor in place when I built it. It's broken loose twice. Super glue can't stand much shear force apparently. So today I'll secure it in place with hot glue. Other than that just do some more cleanup on the layout.

Good Morning All,

61F and a nice mild not too humid start to the day.  Off to Elkhart Lake, Wisc tomorrow. I'll have a regular and a blueberry cake donut please Zoe. To go of course.

Weekend at Pocono went incredibly well after a very shaky start . all the cars ran well and we ran the 1923 Amilcar for thefirst time with just a couple of oil leaks to rectify.

I'll try to catch up posts today, but I wasn't on line all weekend or yesterday so it looks like I'm far behind again.   CUL, J.R.

Good Morning!!!

Coffee and …..oh just coffee I suppose. Thank you.

A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 89.

OK. This Windows 7 has an increeeedibly annoying feature. If you drag your curser to the lower right hand corner your screen or window, regardless of the program you're using, it shrinks so the desktop is visible. So. Guess where my curser ALWAYS goes when I move my mouse out of the way to use the keyboard. Yup. Like...a...magnet. Every time. Talk about annoying.

Sawyer- Great job on the diorama!!!

Not much to report in the land of me cept Brenda picks up (no not literally) her new car today. Yes she got the deal she wanted so it comes in this morning then the cleanup and she’ll be unloading the old 300M. Have no idea what time this’ll happen, so I may get out of it if it’s late enough I have to w**k.

Sooo, guess I’ll hang around until time for the delivery trucks and then I’ll head…Smile.oh look…. Some leftover BBQ chicken. (chomp) Mmmm. Tayst..Indifferent (cough) Surprise.WOW!!!! (gasp)... WATER!!!!!...(cough)Bang Head MILK!!!!!!...Dead.(deep inhale) SOMEbody bring me some BREEEAAAD!!!

Ya’ll have a good day!!!!

Mr B, you will really enjoy that static grass gun.  I found the most economical grass here: http://www.scenicexpress.com/

I would recommend ordering their catalog, but you can order their stuff through Walther’s or you’re LHS.

I'm highest bidder!  I just got a static grass applicator, one of those low-budget ones that came out a few months back, in eBay.  Over the weekend, I noticed that the new Big Lots store near our grocery had opened, so I planned to get an electric flyswatter to make my own applicator.  I did a search to find a tutorial, and this thing popped up.  This morning I awoke to find it was mine.

Absolutely beautiful weather here in New England this week.  Temperatures in the low 80s in the daytime, dropping down to the comfortable low 60s, even 50s at night.  I've shut off the AC and opened the windows again, which hopefully won't mean more pollen on my tracks.

Also in transit is a new bulb for my big-screen (DLP) TV, which went out during the Tour de France on Sunday.  I watched the rest of the race on another TV.  The bulb should be here Thursday, and until then I have the race being recorded each day, at least until I run out of space to record in.
