Greetings from MI where I am visiting family members.

There was plenty of flooding back home in KY when I left. The lake was rising and was expected to reach last year's post-Nashville Flood. Our lake is man-made by damming the Cumberland River which flows through Nashville and later passes our house as it flows toward the Ohio River.

Today is the one-year anniversary of the Nashville flood.

Welcome to Bob, Lone Geep and Thayne.

The death of UBL reminds me of events of the 9/11 attacks. Shelley and I watched the horrors of the day on TV in a hotel room in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Flying home was not an option. We waited several days and took VIA Rail to Montreal and from there to Toronto. Next, Amtrak had a train to Chicago from Toronto which we rode to Flint, MI. There we rented a car to drive to Nashville, TN to get our car at the airport there so we could drive home.

I have no model railroad prgress to report today.

The item that's circled in red is what you need.

Well that's enlightening, and also just bizarre. My computer shows no controls for font family or size, color, and whatever that button next to font color does. I'm also missing the button to the right of the bullet points and numbering ones, now that I look at it. Guess I'll not use color, then. Thanks anyway Jeffrey.

Good Morning, Zoe - I'll have a cinnamon roll (yeah, that big one there) and a Santa Fe mug of coffee, please. Thanks!

Hey, Chris, 'your' elevator is also shown (that photo, anyway) on the Special Issues (MR site) page about the "Modeling the 1950's" issue, too. You're just showing up all over the place, guy! Thumbs Up On your CNW panel question, I could see you doing the different colors (especially if you put a CNW decal on THAT/those panel(s?), and the CCP logo on their area's panel. But it's your layout, right?Wink

Ken, that's great about your boss's call (and that you get to count your co-worker's sales for the monthly special bonus). Yeah Good to see your layout plan again - it'd been a while since I saw that.

Teen Steam, is that photo bigger originally than it shows up in here? That's kinda puzzling, unless the original image was that small.

Curt - Hey, even us less-experienced Diners will give you our ideas (such as they are...).Whistling But yeah, that is one plus about here in the Diner vs. 'outside'. Smile, Wink & Grin

CN Charlie, when does spring actually (not the calendar version) arrive there for you? Think you and our more Northern US Diners (like SFCouple/Wayne) have a lot in common, as far as weather goes. Have you posted a plan for the new layout in here?

Vincent, go ace those finals (or at least, kick 'up' your grades all that you can)! Thumbs Up

Ulrich, great photos - love to see the sunshine there! Cool I read recently that for hay fever type symptoms, the best thing was to NOT go outside between 5 and 10 a.m. (the worst time for allergens).

SubmmBob, Welcome to the Diner, and thanks for the short history of your MRR beginnings. Yeah, I can see that in O scale a 4X8 wouldn't allow you to fit much at all in there...Wink Have a mug/glass of your favorite beverage on me. I see that you're either an early riser, or you stay up realllllly late. Zzz

Galaxy, good to hear your MOH's hours are better lately, and thanks for giving the WTTD (Welcome to the Diner) intro for our new Diners. Thumbs Up

Wayne, you sound like our Canadian Diners, talking about 34 F (or equivalent C) being long sleeve shirt weather! But then again, how far are you from the (Northern) border where you live in Montana? Wink

MononJim, the color selection is the 'A' on the top row (as Jeff said, in the Post Message toolbar), above the one with the Bold, Italic, etc. stuff. To make the names stand out, some of us also use the Bold (after we select the type to be bolded or colored). Now, you don't have to be speechless in here (not that any of us really are...Whistling) Ah, I see that Jeff already showed you. I'm more of a picture person myself, too.

Vincent, I just found out about Bin Laden's death this morning at w**k (recall, my digital TV converter box died last week, so no TV until payday, when I'll get a new box). Good, but I figure now he's considered a martyr, so others may step into his (former) place.

Mispellings? Misspelingss? Problems spelling words? Nah, Thayne, we never have that problem in here (or msitpyed wrods, either)...Whistling Hey, my job involves some times when I get called out at 2 or 3 in the mornings (sometimes not getting done until about 8 a.m.), so I can understand the screwy sleep to catch up that can be needed.  Zzz

It's a cool and drizzly day in Cape G.-land today, and supposed to probably get another foot of Storm (okay, maybe only another inch or so, but it's on top of the foot plus of wet stuff we've had in the past week). Good thing for us at w**k is, people tend to not come see us when the weather is 'bad' like today.THAT, and some who might want to come in, won't because 1) the route to get to us in under water, or 2) the weather leaves 'em feeling "I'd rather stay home and sleep in bed instead."

On the MRR side of things, I got the remaining walls (and the cute little stone steps/walk at the back) for the W-S "Rocky's Tavern (white metal) kit glued together last night. Next, painting and adding a roof for my "City Jail" that it will become. Here's a pic of what it looks like on the W-S site.

(in case they don't allow the pic to directly show, go here)

I was surprised to see what this kit costs now. Surprise  But it's a neat little building that doesn't take up much room at all, which w**ks well for my smaller layout space. Yeah

I'll kick back and sit a spell at the window booth - see what the morning runs are up to out there. Spiffy (and colorful) German locos; don'tcha love 'em?

Blessings,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

GOOD MORNING GUYS!  I just got home from w**k, I got my monday out of the way. Going to catch a nap. And then get a few things done. (maybe) I w**k grave yards and sunday/monday kick's  my behind....  I guess I spoke too  soon. I have no, none, zero, zip, computer skills. So I need to wait for my wife to be home to show me how to post some pictures. Also just one other thing I should mention besides my lack of computer skills.  I am a truck driver. (for the last 26 years) so please be patient with my spelling, typing, (i cant spell puncuation ??) etc.  The sun is finally out and it's a shame to waste a nice spring day sleeping,  I hope you all have a great day!  Thayne.

Mornin' everyone!

"It's another rainy day, just another rainy day...."  Zoe, I see we got some new faces in here?  Tourists?  Oh MRR guys just findin' the place.  I see (said the blind man who couldn't see at all).  Well (full of water) any seats left?  Oh one just for me at the Rivet Counter.....  In THAT case I'll have a breakfast bagel w/ cheese and a cup of my usual dark roast coffee in a R&GV RR Mug.

Mr. Mononguy sir....  there should be, right above the tool bar line you listed, a line that has: "Font Family", "Font Size", and "Paragraph".  Just to the right of "Paragraph" there is a letter "A".  Click on it for color choices.  If you don't have the line????  I have no clue!

Rain predicted for today with Thunderboomers popping up later in the day.  Same for tomorrow only more so.  Same for Wednesday.  same for thursday only less.  More for Friday.....  Gonna have to borrow a baler to do the lawn by next Saturday.............Grumpy  Today may get up to 58°F out there and THAT will be the warmest for the rest of the week until Saturday which is said to break the 60°F mark.  Droughts Over!

I have a bunch of indoor stuff to do including a couple things I have to get mailed, and the scanning of photos of the MLK Scholarship winners.  should keep me busy and away from the train room for most of the day.

Later!

Morning guys

I'm in the downtime between my first 2 classes. The exam went smoothly and on the paper the instructor took a second look at; I ended up with an 85 and a note saying it was a "very intelligent discussion." So I know I passed the class since the exam only counts for 10% and a I have an 88 before it.

I'm suprised no one has mentioned what happened last night. A major victory for the US.

Ulrich, The picture of Bitburg does look familiar.

Chris, My father actually did 2 stays in Germnay. I'd have to ask him where he was. I know a throphy/model thing he got from there is an F-16. I'd have to look at the tail code of it to find out what it was. Intresting note that the CNW GP40-1s were Ex-Conrail. BN had a number of GP38s they got from conrail. I dont know if they got modified, but they were classified as GP38Xs

Ken, Looks like you found a good job. Although I'm having a hrad time fathoming selling that many matresses.

Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

So can somebody tell me how to change font colors so I can talk to folks properly here?

As for selecting text color I use the Select Text Color tool in the post message toolbar.

So what am I missing here? My Post Message toolbar has, from left to right:

Bold, Italic, Underline, Strikethrough, Indent/Outdent, Links, Insert Media, Edit Image, Smilies, Cut/Copy/Paste, HTML edit, spell check, and a format pulldown. No color options. Maybe I need to learn the secret handshake so I can receive colors?

Good Morning from a newbe here,

Right now our little spot in Montana is blessed with blue sky and sunshine.  We're at a balmy 34 degrees, which means all I need is a long sleeve shirt and no jacket.

On my way to the lumber yard for some bracing material to fix the recently completed benchwork.  Waiting for some cork roadbed to be delivered and then on to the track work.  We moved to Montana last year and I've been without a layout for a long time and anxious to start running trains again.

Good morning, all!

My, but this is a talkative crew. The Diner's been in its new locale for less than a day and a half and it's already on page 5! Must say I kinda like the new digs. Gotta come here more often - no place else seems to have the nonfat no-carb bacon egg and pancake breakfast special...

So can somebody tell me how to change font colors so I can talk to folks properly here?

Welcome to the new folks.

Good morning. It's 72° and cloudy. The high will be 82° and the weather guesser says there's a 50% or better chance of thunder storms today. I'll believe it when I see it.

Today I have to take the broken tie rod end off the Peerless tractor so the parts house can ID it properly. It is after all sixteen years old and the company that made it has been out of business for years. It may be easier to take the entire tie rod off and replace it completely. Other projects will be handled as they come up. My nephew and his live-in girl friend were worn out from all the yard work yesterday so I actually got a good nights sleep.

Ulrich- Thanks for the picture, it brings back memories. We used to eat at a local restaurant on the back side of the curved turrent. I still try to go to German restaurants when I can.

Curt - I have yet to figure out what German food is Smile, Wink & Grin In our little town of 25,000, we have three Greek restaurants, one Croatian place, two Turkish Kebab hangouts, one Argentinian Steak restaurant, 3 "Asian" restaurants and, well, yes, two "German" places, but they serve anything else than what is considered German food. Oh, I forgot to mention one Pizza place. The next McDumb is about 8 miles down the main road, no Burger King, no Kentucky Fried Chicken - you´ll have to go all the way to Hamburg to find those. Down south you´ll find more traditional food, but not in our region.

Morning All,

I am at w**k today. The high is supposed to be 89 but I do not know the temp with humidity. Plans for the RR are to paint the plywood base top dark brown. Probably should of done that before laying track and build the 3 buildings I should get tomorrow (meat packing plant, ice house, and stock yard), and install the DPDT switches on the control panel. After that on to wiring.

Bob, Lone Geep, Thayne- Welcome to the diner. Sorry if I missed anyone.

Ulrich- Thanks for the picture, it brings back memories. We used to eat at a local restaurant on the back side of the curved turrent. I still try to go to German restaurants when I can.

Ken- Congrats on your bonus plan. Sounds like a good company. If you get the Q2 I will be jealous. I just can't justify the cost to MOH.

Everyone ake care.

Good Morning!! Just coffee please. I’ll try to make this short this morning…….ROFLMAO!!!!! Huh what? Oh, yes, Dark Roast in a T & P mug thank you. Might as well, I stole the name and logo, why not the mug (chuckle).

Well, not all the list is done, but most is. I still have to get the power washer out of hybernation and then comes the washing the back porch, front porch and north side of the house, stains on driveway and…..can’t remember but I think that’s all she wanted done with that. For now.

I did get down in the train room for a couple minutes. I decided to make my own “blasted rock” tunnel portal. So, I whittled out a rough arch from some foam and set it up then, using the pan of water I now keep setting there, I dipped a couple small strips of plaster cloth and started. Today I hope to lay a few more pieces, but those were two key pieces that needed to dry before laying more. I sure like the convenience of the WS Plaster Cloth now more than I thought. No fuss, no muss, and if I just want to use a 1X 2inch piece….I can with no waste. Sales pitch over.

Chris- The structure they are calling the Rock Crusher? Has to be as it’s the only thing that looks like and elevator. Looks good. So, MRR didn’t actually take any pictures? Or they bought his in addition to what they took, or they took 75 pictures.

Lone geep- Welcome.  We also discuss our projects civilly. You will not run into a “greater than thou” modeler in the diner. They do not seem to like us. Not that there aren't any greater than thou people in here, they just want to help you.., not chastise you.

Curt-Clubs work well for many. Truth be known a club would work ok for me in some respects. Even though I freelance on my own, doesn’t mean I couldn’t work on a prototypical railroad. Problem is my lack of knowledge on real railroads and the locos and well, 1:1 scale trains all together. See, for me I,( though I always have and still do) have, what I’ll call a childish fascination with trains, but not a passion for them. Nor a desire to learn all there is about them. What I do like, is Model Railroading. I’ve always wanted this great big layout like I saw in the magazines since I was a teen. I approach it like the other models I have built over the years. I built a couple planes, but I didn’t learn all there was about planes to do it. My approach is realistic to the casual observer. Not necessarily the expert, though I do admire the extremely accurate and prototypical models, they just aren‘t for me. At least now. However, I will admit my desired accuracy level has increased since being in hereHmm. You never know.

New Guys: Just so you know, the preceding is in no way meant to state how I feel any one else should approach the hobby. That is my feeling and my feeling alone. Yours may, and probably will, be different. What I do feel, and seems most in the hobby feel the same way, is there is room in this hobby for us all and no ones approach is wrong. Just different. Please pass the scenic glue.

Thayne- That sounds like a club I could do._ Pictures? You betcha we like pictures!

Ken- Congratulations on the Bonus Plan!! Sales on commission always made me afraid to do it. Uncertainty and all. You obviously got that covered.

HAH! Bedding humor LOVE IT!

Chris- Good looking Geep! Having second thoughts about posting a picture of my project now! Just kiddin.

Galaxy- You were thinking the same as I was. No, not about the Psychiatrist, about time to re explain the diner in a bit more detail. I was just about to post the old explanation I saved from years ago, but yours filled the ticket. Might post the work schedules again, but not right now.

This post is long enough for a Monday morn!

Ya’ll have a Great Day!!!

Good morning

A hearty Welcome to the DIner to all who are new recently. Step up to the "Rivet Counter"  {RC} or take a booth elsewhere and have a Coffee, or a Beer, or a Drinks, or a piece of Cake or pie or complete Dinner!

The diner is a place where we can come and share our life experiences; commiserate with down turns; provide support and uplifting; get advice on life's little {and big} struggles; and so on and so forth.

There are a few topics that are kinda taboo here: steer clear of religion and religious preaching, politics and any other "inflamatory subject". You CAN say things like Happy Easter and He is Risen on that day, but to discuss whetehr better to be catholic or baptist or muslim or jewish.NADA, please! A few have even argued inthe past about the word "Christmas" as that holiday draws closer. Watch out for cousin Vinnie as he maintains the law in the diner!

Politics is self explanatory. Steer cleer other than a general grumble about how the gov't is handling things- regardless of parties and no long winded politcal rants please.

Also NO PROFANITY is allowed..you can find words that express your distaste or dislike of somehting without strong offensive words or squigles { #&%&%$^$!!}

If you feel the need to rant { SoapBox } the soapbox is free to use and the floor is yours while you are on it. Its a good Idea to warn us if a rant is coming! It could be about the hobby, spousal problems, those darn kids, work etc. Try to keep rants short and sweet though, if you will. They get boring, reader's eyes gloss over and meaning is lost if long winded.

Remember the "work' is considered a four-letter word here . It is often spelled "w**K so as NOT to offend!

This is the "man cave" of the site where most any topic goes. WOmen are allowed, but few come in.

There are no membership dues, no Hail Marys, no bowing down to the Grand Puba or most high exaulted Ruling magnate, no hazing initiations, or the like. all are equal here. There is a "confessional" open to all who are willing to read yours.

If you comment to a posters post, you can quote them directly or  highlight and copy into your post their words you wish to comment on, or talk directly to them. It helps if you choose some way to make their screen name or real name if they use it in some highlited form : such as : galaxy, Ray, garry, Jeffrey to make it stand out so they can find it if they only skim.

All  food here has no calories so order what you want. the prices are reasonable. {where else can you get a 4 course meal or a burger for one fake dollar?}

If you get eht top of the page posting it is your job to PAY for all the poster's on that pages meals..so warm up your "credit card" and do so. We usually find out we get tops after posting then edit it:

EDIT: I got top honors guys the CC is out and warmed up so eat anything you want on me!

It is always appreciated when you buy. DONT forget to tip the waitresses! a 20% tip is considered standard! If you want good service again!

Well, as for me, I see the psychiatrist today..woopie.

MOH {My Other Half for those who don't know} has a good hourly work week this week...was only getting meager hours lately hardly worth teh gas to go in on. We need some big paychecks to help with saving for the house we are searching to buy so we can have permenant MRRing spaces! We live in a trailer, but with no basement to build in, we really dont have room for my miniature HO scale 3.5 foot x 5.1 foot layout! FOr those who don't know MOH is also into trains and wants a 4x8 N scale magna-rama. When we take vacations it almost always revolves around going to where they run steam trians.

Speaking of vacatiosn this summer I think we wont go anywhere as saving additional cash for the house is more important.

WEll, I hope every one has a great day!

The prayer candle is lit for those who need thoughts and prayers!

Welcome Bob!

You´ve found the right place here, friendly folks and good (virtual) food. Quite a number of us are into the iNsane scale. After some experiments in the early days (mid-70´s), I have just rediscovered N scale. I am amazed at the wealth of detail it now has.

Lunchtime in Germany!

Zoe, make that a Barry-sized burger, fries and a RBF to wash it down, please & thanks.

Hello All

Decided to step into the Diner and see how the fare was here.  Been hanging out for coffee on one of the other forums for a while.

I started in HO as a kid, and Dad and I worked on a pretty good sized layout. It went on the back burner once I was in college, and about 10 years ago I gave away all the HO stuff I had (except a couple of German pieces). I started playing around w/ a family heirloom O-gauge set a few years back and got bit by the train bug again. After realizing that a 4 X 8 was about as big as I could handle in O-gauge (I have the hardwood floor central right now) and since I was starting to get interested in DCC, I have started getting into N-scale as well, and so that's what led me here.

Good Morning Gang

That hay fever would not let me catch a good rest last night and I am now up with a big headache. I never had that bad before, just an occasional sneezer. But that was at a time when we had more rain to wash down the pollen. Oh, well ...

Flo, coffee and a breakfast bagel, please.

Ken -a boss like yours is a keeper! Hard to find nowadays. Congrats on the bonus payment, it´ll move you forward on the path of keeping your house - for which I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Vincent, Curt - I am always surprised to see how many folks have a German "heritage" of  some sort. This is Buedingen:

... and this is Bitburg, the famous beer town:

Have a safe day!

VINCENT: Bitburg? Home of the 36th Tactical Fighter Wing? My Dad was at Spangdahlem, the "neighbor" to Bit back in the early 1960s with the 49th TFW. THAT was back in the days when both wings were flying F-105 fighter/bombers and keeping the commie Ruskies at bay. Also, I think you may be right about the red and white looking kinda odd with the green and yellow. I'll probably just keep it all green/yellow and just attach a CCP herald to help mark their yard (along with having THAT spelled-out on the fascia). The geep is a GP40-1. It's an Athearn GP40-2 with minor body modifications (filling the sight glass on the engineer's side, adding disks to the tops of the fans) and a handful of parts. The CNW got GP-40s from Conrail and did a partial upgrade with some dash-2 features, thus making it a "dash-1." CNW did the w**k at Oelwein, IA in the early 1980s.

Evening all.

Quiet night at home tonight. We go back to school tomorrow Crying, so I should probably get a good night's sleep tonight.

Curt, Wayne, and Thayne (and anyone else who I may have missed, my apologies), Welcome to The Diner. It seems that you guys have joined us during my absence.

Jim, I'd say the college search is going well, right about on track (no pun intended) for where I should be now (May of Junior year).
The only college that I know is closer to the tracks is Rutgers (the New Brunswick campus, where the engineering school is). It is about a half mile from the Northeast Corridor, and Lafayette is about a mile from the Lehigh Line. The NEC has much more volume, but the LL is also busy, and has more variety (you get much more variety in freight traffic than you do in Amtrak and New Jersey Transit). As for other schools, I'm not sure.

Chris, great work on that Geep! Thumbs Up

Ken, glad to hear that you are pleased with ecstatic about the new job! Hopefully business will continue to rise even more.

Vincent, good luck with finals!

Well, I gotta be up bright and early tomorrow (GROOOOOOAAAAAANNNNNNNN), so I better head out for tonight. Hopefully I'll be able to stop in before long!

I shouldn't have any problems with low blood sugar tonight. My father and I went to Burger King for dinner. He got his usual. Double Whopper with cheese and fries. I got my usual. Steakhouse XT, no tomato. I wanted onion rings with it but they were out so I sett;ed for fries instead. Dr Pepper with a shot of Sprite.

Stereo is cranked up next door. They were out working hard in my parents yard today so maybe they'll crash early for a change. And if a frog had wings it wouldn't bump it's butt!

Hey guys

Germany Aye? Haven't been their since I was 3 or 4. My father was stationed at Bitburg (i think, it's the one near Trier) for a time in the early 90s. So I did a little growing up there before coming stateside.

Not much going on now. Last day at work went alright (none of the people I have issues with were there). Although I had a fiasco with mowing my parent's lawn. There was no gas in the mower when I pulled it out. I asked my father and he said there was gas in the 3 gas cans he has. 2 were empty and 1 only got the mower to about 1/4. that only got me 30% of the front yard. Had to run to the store (with the mower stuck in the front yard) to fill up a can. Now my car needs the fill-up again.

Talked to one of the guys I went to the Atlanta trainshow with the other day. We both saw an athearn RTR (newest runs) SP SD40T-2 and wound up talking about how we regetted not buying it; and how I missed out on some BN stuff because the group I rode with left early; and got home after the other group. Next time stick with these guys that stayed longer.

Chris, Is it a GP40 or a GP40-2? Your fascia idea is a new one to me. I think it'd look good (probably cause of my team, lol). As for the CCP yard, the red/white and green/yellow might look kind of strange together. That and someone may think it's an MKT layout (kidding). Personally, I'd run a test to be sure it looks good in reality.

Curt, That control panel looks pretty good!

Lone Geep, It's pretty much a thread about anything. Technically it's a "coffee shop" style thread.

Robby, Don't have the latest MR (my subscrition ran out a few months ago) but when I get a chance I'll look it up at a book store.

Garry, Thanks. Haven't reported it yet, but it'll happen when I get a chance.

Well I have to go study for my end-of semester finals tomorrow. That's also when I'll find out what became of the paper the English Professor wanted to re-look over. Hope it's good, and hope I do good with the finals. TTYL

Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

 Hello Fellow Dinners!

Special Welcome to all the New Dinners as well! Welcome

Flo, yes dear and thank you for the Beer

I Love The Company I work for! Big Smile Little background for the new dinners. I was out of work for most of 2010 and started a new job 01-07-11. Small family owned company (but we are growing) and will have 5 stores this month. I was given my store on 02-01-11 and it is doing much better. Sore had been doing around $35,000.00 per month and I am now doing around $42,000.00.

As I posted I was promised a $1000.00 bounces if I hit $50,000 this month. Well I did not quite make it. Whistling

Got a phone call from Berry the owner today and it went like this.

 Mattress Sources, Ken speaking.

Mr Greenwell, Berry here. How did you wind up for the month.

I was close but no cigar Berry, $47,999.69

Ken, tell Valerie what you did.

Hi Valerie, I did $47,999.69 for March

 You did?

 Yes, close but no cigar.

Ken, Berry again, that is the best month that store has ever had! Valerie twisted my arm, so I am given you a $500.00 bounces. Glad you joined our team Ken! Looking forward to a great year from that store. Keep up the good work and we will talk later.

You talk about making my day!

Plus I now have a firm bounces plan now. If the store delivers $45,000 in a month I get $500.00 extra, $50,000 I get $1000.00, $55,000 I get $1500.00 and so on. That is over my normal commission and what Shaun delivers counts as well toward my bounces. (Shaun covers my store on my days off)

Heck, with some luck I might get back into the $50,000.00 range again and get to keep the house. Then build my dream layout. (again for the new dinners)

2 main lines and a branch line dragging coal and gain. 19' X 26' with 32 in turns on the main and 24" turns on the branch line.

Galaxy I think I heard on TV to kill bed bugs if you heat your house to 160 degrees it will kill the Bed Bugs. Might look into it on line.

See you all Monday. Hum, might preorder BLI Q2.

     Ken

Greetings from Wintrepeg,

Yes we are back to winter here. Had 2-3" of the white stuff last night and so far it hasn't melted but then why would it with a high today of 28F.  Tonight it is supposed to get down to 20F. They say it will hit 50 tomorrow but I am skeptical.

It was a good day to do RR stuff so I did install a decoder into a N scale RS18 which is a Canadian version of an RS11. I also hooked up the Dynamis DCC I bought. Both are working fine. I think I will like the Dynamis at least for my little N scale empire it will be fine. I have just about finalized the track plan and will be out to buy the door this week.

Well it is getting near Masterpiece Theatre time so I will be signing off for now.
