Good Morning! Coffee and a sweet roll please. Thank you.

Everything went well yesterday except my sister, who wanted so bad to be there to see my Aunt, didn’t show. Again. They called, but couldn’t make it. They want to come up today (this morning by around 11)to go through some things of Mom’s. They don’t want to hold things up for me. I thought that was nice. I’ll not hold my breath on their arrival. She wanted the key to the apartment. HA! She’d be taking Brittni’s stuff and who knows what all. Of course, she can take any and all she wants per the will as everyone else placed before her could have, but the point is I don’t trust her. I’ll be overly nice and catering until she is done with her claim to the estate. Then it will return to basically estrangement as it has been for years because my blood temperature will be rising. If, I make it till the end of this process I will be surprised. I may not have a tongue from biting it. She will not dance me around like a puppet as she did Mom for all those years sitting and waiting, rearranging plans and everything for her only to have her as a no show and a reschedule only to again, no show. Then whine about her physical problems that keep her from just being able to go anywhere whenever she chooses. Odd she had no scheduling problems with the flight to Vegas at the begining of the month. Odd she can get where ever she wants to go without issues. Odd she has no problems wheeling that cigarette one after anaother and managing the lighter or holding a beer bottle but when it comes to a job, she can't hold a pen to write. EmbarrassedSorry, Rant over.

I guess you know my plans. While out at the apartment, or rather on the way home, Brenda wants to stop by Sam’s Club. Thereby taking up any planned MRR time I was going to spend today. I wanted to cut and lay the OSB and the foam completing the bench work for the first half. But……Thank you very much little sister.

Well, I have to get going so we can get to the apartment only to wait and find out she won’t be.

Y’all have a Great Day now ya hear?!!!

Good evening/morning friends!

Well, I got halfway back to the other diner when the track car broke down, and the engineer at the controls went crosseyed from all the orders I was reading...  so they had to call a taxi to pick me up and bring me back here... so I might attempt the trip again tomorrow, we shall see.

Ulrich, I'll keep your mom in my prayers.

Hope everyone is well tonight?  Glad those of you who had close calls this week are still here with us! Thank the Lord for the blessings given us!

Well, the bug has hit me again, and I am back to my layout designing.  Made doubly rough with the knowledge that I only have a corner of the spare bedroom to work with.  A space which is 11' 3" by 14'.

I went back to my research and found that I had mis-measured the track lenght at New Hope Station.  I originally thought it to be 6 or 7 passenger car lengths, but I re-measured to be on the safe side and found it to be 10 car lengths... Ouch, my passenger cars are 12" coupler to coupler, and I need a space of 3 cars and an engine for the tail track to function properly.   THAT said, I will have to have 10 feet for the station track, and 4 feet for the tail track... Gotta love when your remeasuring reveals flaws in your plans!  have to curve the tail track (if and when we move out of this apartment and have more room I will fix the flub and make the tail track straight again!)

Well, time to say goodnight!

TTFN!

Sam

May He bless you, guide you, and keep you safe on your journey through life!

Good Morning,

what a night! Must have caught some kind of a bug that left me shivering and freezing at one moment, and sweating the other moment. Now I feel like having been "freight trained".

Flo, a strong coffee in a JNR mug, please, Maybe that´ll perk me up a little.

Ken - I don´t expect any news from the bank until early February. They are really slow when you are asking for money, but dang quick if they want to have any from you! When and if funding is approved, the job is most likely to commence April 1st.

Surgery for my mom will be scheduled next week. I guess it will be beginning of February, as there appears to be no immediate danger if she does not overwork herself...

Made some progress in the planning of my modular desktop layout. It will really fit on my desk, can be taken apart (or put together) in a few minutes. I can store the modules on a shelf - sounds like the ideal solution in my current situation, as any type of permanent set-up would be a) too costly, and b) too intrusive. OK, it´ll not be a "dream" layout, but it´ll give me something to "play" with.

There is a small group of people in Germany modeling Japanese prototype. We are right now discussing some standrds for the modules, enabling us to meet and set up a larger layout. Let´s see how that will turn out.

Have a good day, all of you!

Whistling

Just stopped in for a HC before going to bed.

Had an enjoyable evening with my Wife and we watched "Runaway Train" with Jon Voight on Netflix.

The only downer was watching all that snow in the movie that we are having to deal with here everyday.

But for anyone who hasn't seen it, I do recommend it,  us train buffs will get the most out of it.

Well, must get tucked in as Church is in the am. and it is snowing again so that means some cleaning to do before leaving.

Hope you all have a great and restful sleep  and enjoy the conference finals (NFL) tomorrow.

Evening guys

After tinkering with the spark plug wiring last night, That high-RPM miss went away. Although on the way back from a friend's op session I got one between 1700-2200 pms (normal driving range). Messed with it a little more, but haven't driven it since. Might need to do a bit more work on seperating the wires (knew I should have ponied up and gotten some MSD wires instead of going for bosch)

Tommorow's the Packer's play-off game against the arch rival bears. Gonna miss the 1st hour because of work.

Ken, Are you talking about the duralast battery? Supposedly they are pretty good, I've only bought one and it's outlasted the cars it was in. I had bought one for my 97 mustang I had because the optima one didn't work (and I didn't want to sit in the trunk without a case), when I crashed it I re-used it for my 1990 since that one was dying when I bought it. Still in the 90, and the new owner hasn't had any issues with it.

Tom, I've noticed that one at shows too. Who wants to pay $50 for a bluebox SD40-2, when you can get an RTR for $10 more at the next table?

*yawn*. It's been a long day. I'll probably catch some z's, see ya'll tomorrow.

Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

Ray: Got it! Thanks!

We got more snow again today...into each day a bit more snow must fall....

Had a good solid afternoon/evening of mucking around with a cnc milling machine...may actually get something off'n the ground in a while...once I figure out the thing a little further....

Welp,  gotta go to

Good chilly evening folks. The tomato and cheddar soup with a BBQ beef Panini please Zoe.

Ken:

John If you find the name of the power that would be great, but don't tear up the train room looking for it! While the Nickel is still all there on the Y6 b my Hudson and RSD 15 wheels are down to the copper, or is it brass? But they still pick up power with no problems so I am not that worried about it.
...no worries, it's an interesting exercise in itself, re-discovering stuff I'd forgotten I had! As to the worn-to-the-brass wheels still picking up, yes, they do, but I betcha there are scratches in them which will be gathering crud. Re-plating would do away with that - sort of along the lines of whoever it was on that thread you posted in who was wondering if it's possible to "gleam method" wheels with the same effect as rail. (More difficult than rail, IMHO, and h*ll on wheels to do it in N! My 2 Cents)

Dick: Good to see you drop by -

I sure remember the years when Duke, Ed and Fergie would dance on the table tops here until 5 in the morning, and poor John would just shake his head.
....only because Flip was being "kept in line" somewhat forcefully by our redoubtable Diner staff at party time! The table dancing didn't bother me at all!Whistling

Ulrich:

This loco is said to hold the world speed record at a little over 125 mph. 3 of them are still in working order and can be seen heading steam specials throughout the year in UK.
...I think the Mallard 4468 is in the York Railway Museum, IIRC (Quaint that the number board says No 4468 - like what else is it but a number?) The speed record 126.4 mph in 1938 this article (but I haven't seen that figure anywhere else) http://www.wordiq.com/definition/Mallard_%28locomotive%29   On another site I found the "blow by blow" report of the record run, with a probably more accurate assessment of the speed, certainly the one LNER went for. Not too shabby for a loco with a dodgy main bearing!

On 3rd July 1938, the Westinghouse team arrived to find that the train consist had changed. Some of the coaches had been removed and replaced with the dynamometer car. Also, the locomotive had been changed to 4468 Mallard. Only 4 months old, this A4 was the first to be fitted with the Kylchap double-blast pipe. The driver was also different - J. Duddington, who had been brought down from Doncaster and had a reputation for running trains hard when it was required. Duddington was joined by fireman T. Bray, and inspector J. Jenkins. When the Westinghouse team were onboard, they were told that they were going to attempt to break the speed record. Why the secrecy? One reason was so that the LMS did not hear of the attempt beforehand. Another might be that the LNER's civil engineering department were not keen on 120+ mph runs, when the track had official speed limits of only 90mph!

The Down journey consisted of conventional brake tests. At Barkston, the Westinghouse team were given the option of taking a taxi to Peterborough - they all refused! The centre big bearing was drowned in cylinder oil, and the return journey commenced. Grantham was passed at 24mph. By Stoke signal box, the speed had reached 74.5mph with full regulator and 40% cut-off. At milepost 94, 116mph was recorded along with the maximum drawbar of 1800hp. 120mph was achieved between milepost 92.75 and 89.75, and for a short distance of 306 yds, 125mph was touched.

A peak of 126mph was marked on the dynamometer rolls, and this speed was included in some unofficial reports. 126mph is also the speed marked on the plaque BR mounted on Mallard in 1948. Gresley never accepted this speed of 126mph, and thought it misleading. The LNER only claimed a peak average of 125mph - so breaking the world record for steam traction held by the German State Railways (124.5mph) and the British record set by the LMS (114mph).

When Mallard arrived at Peterborough it was found that the centre bearing had overheated. It was then towed to meet the press at Kings Cross behind an Ivatt Atlantic. This must have led to some confusion, but the overheated bearing was quickly re-metalled. A further check was made that everything was okay, and Mallard was back in revenue-earning service within 9 days.

Over 60 years later, Mallard's record of 125mph still stands.

Looking good on the job front. Angel for the bank decision!

4 days from Tokyo to my door step!
Wonderful! Enjoy! (I'm still waiting for a package from the USA mailed Dec 29th! Tracking ends at the border - so I don't know...Sad.)

Fergie:

The way I'm going I suspect I will having to add staging tracks as the rails are full and I only have 1/3 of my rolling stock out of the box.
...where exactly? IIRC there wasn't a whole lot of unused space on the MESS! (or are you going to expand a bit along t he wall opposite the stairs?
DerJohn: Glad you got my e-mail. They are definite winners. Have you been to Georges lately?
...unfortunately the buses won't fit my era, but that Acadian Bus Lines livery and the destination boards have me thinking about the possibilities for a modern set.....Thumbs Up

I haven't been to Georges in quite a while - the stuff I "need" these days isn't really in his line. As you observed (IIRC) he wasn't at the last train show in Dartmouth, and he didn't look well the last time I was in the store.

Galaxy: If it isn't too late, glad the op went OK, despite the lack of total anesthesia. May the recovery go even better, and have the outcome you are looking for. You'll appreciate that I haven't seen if you covered more on that in pages 40-45 Prayers for your FIL

but not sure he deserves tehm.
...if we were all judged on that basis, there wouldn't be" a whole lot of prayin' goin' on"! Grace truly is Amazing! However, I Jeff's remarks, FIL needs to suck it up.GrumpyAngel

Well, I'm at least 6 pages behind, so I'm not going to try to catch up from here.  In the middle of track cleaning - and one of my Kato Digitrax drop-in equipped locos has decided to quit. It takes a Factory Reset, and re-programs, but the headlights are the only thing that work. It isn't a connection issue because the decoder contact strips are hard wired to the motor. I'm fed up.  I have a TCS equipped GP7 (TCS CN-GP) that was running and now is completely dead; a GP15-1 that will only run at a moderate crawl on full throttle, two other decoders that have to go back on warranty returns. Not a happy camper, and for the first time seriously considered giving up the hobby. This is not fun at the moment.

On a brighter note, the replacement All-in-one printer we bought last week cost less than we expected to pay-even with the environmental charge. Got it home to find that it is WiFi enabled, which the old one wasn't. So now, I run it from my computer via a USB cable, and Kris can print off stuff from her computer on which the wireless modem that gives me HiSpeed is resident. Geeked

Looks like it's getting to wards that time again. I'm just going to look at the last Page in the Diner to see if Jeff knows it's going to freeze down his way tonight! (Dick sent me the url for Earth Alerts, and I entered Leesville just because!) Ah!, Jeff, I have that same problem of too low a pilot on Atlas GP7s on my layout. A little carving and sanding is my fix Also Jeff

I don't have the tools for that so each piece will have to be carefully cut from a craft stick and filed down until it's at least near scale thickness. That's gonna take some time.
...would sanding down the whole craft stick first before cutting it into scale lumber speed the plough?

So, Goodnight all, and God Bless. Prayers continuing for all in need of Healing, Comfort, Prosperity and Peace.Angel h

Coffee please. Thank you. (burp) Excuse me. I ate at the Lonestar. Yup, 2 for $25 cost me……..$32. Soda, Iced Tea and tax extra mind you. Still, for the meal it was a pretty good deal and the servings were not skimped and tasted pretty darn good. I shall return for it again to get something different.

Ray- WAIT! Don’t pay attention to what those things say! I was at one once and it said “swipe customers card‘. So, I reached over to the guy behind me and….grabbed his card. They called security and everything. Man, you talk about a mess explaining I was just following instructions. -- I see you are familiar with the old, "needed it and now that I have it don’t need it" …….thing. -- Have you noticed when you find everything the help is all over you, but when you can’t or have a question they’re nowhere around or work in a different department. I ask, “then what are you doing over here?”

Johnboy-  Laugh I guess you guys up north have to give up something for the beautiful scenery you have. Of course, then again, you may not mind the cold. Many don’t but me? Brrrrrrr. I can't imagine the temps you and Charlie talk of.

Tom- Oh believe you me I have heard the yard sale, consignment shop, newspaper boards, you name it. But like you and Ray said, most everything isn’t really worth anything, so to speak. They are going on, what I call a shopping trip. They can pick anything and everything they want. (it’s per the will). I also offer for them to take things they don’t want and sell it as they suggest to me. Oddly, they don’t want to mess with it because it wouldn’t be worth the trouble. I look at them blankly. They see my point I guess because they change the subject. There will be a U-haul or several pickup loads to the Goodwill, and many many things, yes, to the dumpster.

Anybody need some shampoo. Hairspray?

I think I’ll hit the train room for a bit. Why? I don’t know. Maybe because I can.Yes

Hey, hot coffee in a British Railways mug of you would be so kind.

Man, haven't stopped in for quite some time. Had the rear brakes in the Jeep go out yesterday. That's one experience I never want to repeat. Turns out a brake line was completely rotted through. Its at the mechanic's now getting all new brake lines installed. I could of done it myself, but don't have the flaring tools or the pipe bending tools. Didn't have a say in the matter anyway. Brakes went out Thursday on my way to school. Drove it home on front brakes and E-brake, Friday my folks took it to a friend of ours to replace the lines. Got her back at about 5:30 Glad to see everyone's doing good.

Ulrich, best of luck. Hope you get the job.

Jeff, clearance issues? Good you got the problem fixed.

Cederstrand

***Jeffrey, are you going to repaint all those cars or leave some in their current roads?

At this time I'm leaving them in their current roads with the exception of the 50' boxcar. I am however converting them to body mount couplers as my supply (low) of coupler boxes permits permits. I have good trucks on the FEC car and have added body mount couplers to it already.

Strong coffee in a UNION PACIFIC mug, please.

***Ray, love your sense of humor.

***Jeffrey, are you going to repaint all those cars or leave some in their current roads?

***Ulrich, very nice loco. I have an older version of that, with plastic rods, but even that older version is still a good runner. Enjoy that handsome new version. Yes

***Larry, we would like to see some pics of those finished "shoe-box" style buildings.

***Galaxy, my FIL hasn't complained about one thing during the years following his major, devastating stroke. He's told my wife he is "ready to get on that bus when it arrives, but doesn't want any help". Interesting way to put it, I thought. He's always been an independent hard worker, but those strokes really mess a person up bad.

Heading down to the train room to see how last nights work turned out. Should all be dried out by now.

Cheers! Cowboy Rob

Afternoon folks!

Flo just a cup of decaf, don't want to spoil my diner.

Been keeping the woodstove cranking pretty good today.  Need to bring more wood in shortly.

Did the shopping I have been putting off for a couple days.  Also stopped at Radidio Snack to pick up a couple packs of Crimp type spade lugs.  I walk in and go right over to where they keep them, grab a couple packages and make my way back toward the cash register.  I take about 2 steps and one of their employs literally runs over to ask if I need help finding anything.  I tell him, nope!  Since you didn't rearrange everything in the store this week, they were right where they were last week......  He didn't think it was funny.  Evidently they have a rule about finding things in the store on your own......  So we go to check out and the card reader keeps flashing that I'm supposed to swipe something (Which is what I thought the employee standing over me is supposed to prevent?), so I ask if they still accept pictures of dead presidents as payment?  Another strange look.....  I wave around a picture of Jackson, he smells green, and he says, Oh, of course.  I then ask him why the little card reader is yelling at me to swipe somebodies card!  The girl at the next register starts to laugh and says, "It always does that...  Annoying isn't it!"  I take my change which the kid had to get from 2 registers down....  The only one that has the "old fashioned stuff" and I make my way out the door which goes "beep, beep, beep"  No problem the door always does that whether you are coming or going........

Soldered up some wiring adding the spade lugs to the end to bring 16v lighting power over to where the quarry is.  I use 2 12 volt bulbs in series with the 16v.  gives a nice old fashioned yellow light and the bulbs will last forever (Which is longer than I plan to be on this earth...).  Later tonight I am going to spray paint the belt drive items that are finished, do some detail painting, and get them glued in place in the Workshop/Engine house.

Supposed to get down into the single digits around here tonight, so I see some Scouts near Rochester (In my Council) are taking advantage of the beautiful weather to have some camping fun.  Actually this is great weather to be camping in since the temp stays below freezing therefore you stay dry and warm.....  I once camped in the middle of a frozen lake (Cuba Lake South of Buffalo, NY) with a temp of -20°F and a 30 MPH wind.  Wind chill was something like -75°F.  As long as we stayed out of the wind and dry, we were fine......  Whistling

Got to go check the stove!

Barry, check your conversations.....

Later!

Ray Seneca Lake, Ontario, and Western R.R. (S.L.O.&W.) in HO

We'll get there sooner or later!

GMTRacing

Jeff - never heard of a lowrider locomotive. Starting a trend?

Neither have I. The problem with the FT shell was that the bottom of the pilot was so low it actually scrapped the rails. A couple of minutes with the Dremel and a sanding drum took care of that little problem.

Good Afternoon All,

Still in the shop having finished up a bunch of Magnaflux for the Audi and getting the new Amilcar frame jigged and ready to weld.

I don't envy you G but I'll add your FIL to the prayer list for the same reason Todd did.

Brakie - what train stores are in Mansfield? We go to Mid Ohio once a year and usually get to Mansfield for dinner at Rockys' Pub. A side trip to a hobby shop would be an extra treat.

Todd - shame on you using all of Rays' syrup. the way he keeps rigging up surprises, better wear insulated gloves next time you go scrounging.

Garry - love the truck and the scene is coming along nicely though for now it's the most tidy junkyard ever.

Barry - prayers for your wife and no I have enough cold here already. Had spirit but it froze too.

Jeff - never heard of a lowrider locomotive. Starting a trend?

Well, lunch is finished, back to the welding bench it is.   CUL, J.R.

Todd - I too understand about cleaning out your Mom's place. We went through that process twice. Once when my Mom passed away, and again when my wife's brother passed away. We had a couple of hard years taking care of everybody and trying to maintain my own place as well as theirs. Most everything was given away or went into the dumpster. Of course, many freinds and family just couldn't understand why I wasn't running a never ending yard sale in hope that I could get 50 cents for a pot. Like I had no other life.

Just got back a little while ago from a Greenberg train show here in Pittsburgh. Unfortunately, this show seems to be on a gradual decline each time I go. I did pick up an Atlas ACF 3560 covered hopper I've been watching out for. It was about $4.00 off retail, Mostly it seemed to be a lot of over priced junk. Why anyone would want to pay $15.00 for a ten year old Tyco freight car with horn couplers is a mystery to me. Of course, without the horn couplers, it's probably $1.50 more.Wink

last mountain & eastern hogger

Ulrich,

Very nice purchase there, it does indeed look great.  So am I right now, that the Hiroshima & Southern has two steamers???

... it´s more like the Iwojima & Eastern RR. The two steamers I have do not really match in size - this one is N scale - motive power for a small modular "desktop" layout - one of thos quick&really dirty, but nice looking things you see on Japanese model railroader´s homepages.

Charlie- Surprise  Indifferent Laugh. You got me there for a minute. Then I realized you must have hit the “-” button by accident.  Laugh “-23” I should have known. Nothing gets that cold. .hehe.

Whistling

Mr. Marsh,

I couldn't let this one pass.

Yesterday morning, going to work at 7:30  it was -35c with a wind chill of -47c here in the Queen City.

Not that we like it, but life does continue in those temps. That is what they make those heavy duty batteries and block heaters for. Today it has moderated (thank goodness) it is only -15c.  Now it feels like spring outside.

I'm going to take this opportunity and do some roof raking.  Got to get some of those four foot drifts off of my dutch gable eaves before they tear the troughs off.

Ulrich,

Very nice purchase there, it does indeed look great.  So am I right now, that the Hiroshima & Southern has two steamers???

Galaxy,

Was so glad to hear all went well with the surgery and that you are on the mend.  That Chapel Car of Garry's does help, doesn't it ?

J.W.,

I'm sorry to hear that the foot and ankle are causing additional problems for you. Lets hope and pray that it will at least stabilize for you and not get any worse.   Boy that is a Cadillac of work cabooses. look under the roof edge, I think the paint missed a spot there. At least that is the way it looked in the picture I got.

Garry,

That is a great looking scene you have created there. Really looks authentic.

Rob,

If you get a chance, lets see how those parking lots and roads turned out.

Prayers and blessings to all in need.

Special hello to Gerry & Sallie, Cape Jim, Fergie, and the Cajun Chef, Ryan.  Really nice to see you guys back in here from time to time.

Hello ...

Ulrich ... Nice new locomotive! ... Best wishes regarding the TV station, and prayers continue for "Mom".

Todd ... Thanks for the reamrks on the photo. I'm not done witth the scrapyard. Also, thanks for your concern about our DIL's brother. Sometimes trouble graviates to the yonger generation, but this young man deserves none of the stuff he's facing. .

Robby. ... Thanks for comments on the junk yard scene. I had fun with the truck. Some of the weathering is with (I bet you guessed it.) weathering poweders. There are two kinds of fence surrounding the scrap yard. The chain link fence is made from common window screen with finnishing nails for the posts. The iron fence is mad by an HO model company, and I think it was made by Alloy Froms. Not sure though.

Well, I think I'll have chili and a grilled cheddar cheese sandwich.

Cheers.

Good Morning All!

Not much to report from the land of frozen Buckeyes other then its freezing cold..Its -4 with wind chills to -15.I won't be making a trip to the hobby shops in Mansfield today in fact other then taking my dog out I won't be outside no more then absolutely necessary.Modeling wise yesterday I finish up the HO cleaning..I still have one more HO project..I want to make a MOW truck.I think I finally have Slate Creek figured out. These new ISL designs is straight forward but, complex as far as rhyme and reason..These modern "shoe box" industry buildings seems easy to make-make a box using mat board add paint white or tan add dock doors and add roof with details..I suppose one could go high tech and use a picture scaled to size by computer.

I shall have a cup and look over the forum.

Have a good'un!

Galaxy: Sounds to me like your FIL is trying to make the most of what he thinks is a good opportunity to get others to bow to his every whim. He has a walking cast, he needs to use it and quit bellyaching about a simple fracture. Even if his ankle were as bad as mine I wouldn't condone his behavior. I get around with an orthopedic boot and a cane and I don't expect anybody to help me with anything. I can even get up and down stairs although it may take me a while. If I can do it he sure as he!! can, and you can tell him I said that too.

Mornin' everyone!  (Mornin' Bill!)

Zoe I'll have a short stack of Buttermilk Pancakes and a couple breakfast sausages to go along with the dark roast coffee in a FGLK Mug.  Lets see, need to retrieve my private stash of NYS Maple Syrup.......  Ah, here it is!  WHAT?  It's almost empty!  OK, Who's been using my maple syrup?  Todd?  Hmmmm.  Looks like I'm going to have to find a new hiding spot.......

Todd, I know the feeling of cleaning out and giving away.....  Most of the stuff from my parents house ended up in the dumpster.  Anything that was a family heirloom (meaning not worth anything, just old) was passed out to whoever wanted it.  The rest is occupying space in my closets and down cellar......  someday to be disposed of, I guess.  You also realize THAT now you not have any more than an inch of snow at at time for the next 10 years............ Buying a huge snowblower is the best way I know to prevent snow storms.

Ulrich, keeping my fingers crossed the bank comes through for the TV stuff.  I know you will be much happier bringing in some $$.

Other than doing the shopping I was going to do yesterday and didn't, I don't have whole lot going on today.  Probably will spent time down cellar in the train room, and feed the wood stove.  It is currently at the high for the day of 12°F.  Glad we are not getting some of the temps a few have reported.  Being near the great Lakes and the Finger Lakes as ell tend to moderate the cold somewhat.

Hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning! Waffles please with real maple syrup and of course coffee please. Thank yo…what? You gotta be kidding me. Out of real maple syrup? I don’t believe this why I thought……wait. What’s this taped under Ray‘s counter stool? Never mind Zoe, I seemed to have “found” some.

Speaking of Ray, That driver and the kids in the front of the bus had their guardian angels sitting with them that day. They continue to be in my prayers.

Garry- Very nice! Very nice indeed. No not your shoes, your junkyard picture. It and the truck turned out great. Adding your DIL’s brother.

Ken- Must have been a MOPAR batteryWhistling. Longest battery life I’ve ever had was in my truck. 8 years. Never missed a start until……the day it gave up. In my drive.

Charlie- Surprise  Indifferent Laugh. You got me there for a minute. Then I realized you must have hit the “-” button by accident.  Laugh “-23” I should have known. Nothing gets that cold. .hehe. Well except maybe the look my wife gives me from time to time. Speaking of wives. Adding your wife to the list also for good news on the biopsy and for healing.

Galaxy- I know the type. (your FIL) Know them well. I will add him to the prayer list as well. Sooner he heals, the sooner…..

Ulrich- Congrats on the arrival. It hopefully will pick you up. Sounds like it already has.

Gonna be warmer today with a high of about 24. And I have to meet my Aunt who is coming up from Nebo today to go through some of Mom’s things. Then I think Brenda and I will head to the Lonestar restaurant for their 2 for 25 meal deal. Not a bad deal considering.

Snow blower update. I think I may have been a little over zealous on the sizeWhistling. 28 inches doesn’t look all that wide on a tape measure and it doesn’t look all that big on the showroom either. However on the work surface Indifferent……. Well lets just say I have plenty of snowblower. Still don’t know how my ramps will work out, a buddy was passing by stopped and asked if I needed any help unloading. I almost said no I wanted to see how the ramps worked, but I said yeah I’d like to at least get the thing started and used once before the horrible leap to it’s crashing death off the ramps. Oh and by the way, the snowblower was not near as heavy this time as it was when the Lowe’s kid helpedHmm. However, it is still way too heavy for Brenda to help. It’s a bit of a whopper for my drive.

Gotta get going. I need to meet my Aunt at Mom apartment around noon and also need to clean out Mom’s car for the neeeew owners to pickup sometime this afternoon. I feel kind of weird getting rid of all her stuff. Like…..I’m……taking her things or stealing from her or…..something. Hard to explain.

ANYway….

Y’all have a Great Day now ya hear?!!!

Good Afternoon,

Today, I am a little later than usual. Woke up in the morning, only found out that it had snowed during the night, covering the land with a thin film of that white stuff. It is all gone by now. I went to a meeting with the TV guys to finalize a few issues. Now, providing that the bank is willing to lay out some cash for the initial investment necessary to buy the production equipment, I am back in a job!

There was a little surprise waiting for me when I came home. My loco has arrived! 4 days from Tokyo to my door step! It is really a beauty! But so small. Without magnifying glasses, I am not able to enjoy all the detail! I will post some pics as soon as the batteries of my camera are recharged. Now I need to buy some track and I am back into business. Feels great!

Zoe, I don´t know whether I have top honours, but bring the guys whatever they want to have - it´s all on me! Yes, and I pay cash, dear (as I don´t have a credit card)!

G- I am sorry to hear that your FIL is giving you a hard time - after what you have been through in recent times, you certainly don´t need that to be put on your tab!

CUL, Gang!
