Good Morning,

Today the polls are open!
I hope everyone has the opportunity to do the right thing and vote… We had 31 of our politicians caught in a county wide FBI probe and the party decided to remove the inedited candidates from the ballots.  Not much of a race out here, only 3 of the blocks had more than one name on it.

Todd, I get me one of those checks too, 22.2 years in the service.  It’s really nice, too bad it’s not enough to allow me to sit at home all day.  Like Jeff said; my checks came in direct deposit and I paid all my bills, renewed my MRR subscription, and ordered a Noch-Grasmaster before I left the house to buy foodstuff. Grasmaster should be here by Friday.

Ken, I tossed almost all of mine out this summer after I realized there is no way in heck I’m going to dig out the right box for the right car. Not to mention all the space they were taking up in the train room.

Sawyer, nicely done, I’m glad the shop took care of you, too bad they didn’t fix it right the first time.

Trains Stuff:  I’m running full speed on the layout scenery; finally the bare plywood is giving way to grass and ballast.  Once I can clear some of the chaos from the layout (caused by moving buildings to install scenery) I’ll post some pictures.

Heartland Division CB&Q

AZ .... What part? ... Good to see everyone.

ALL parts....the diner will circulate around this beauteous state so we can see it all!

Right now we are looking at the GC.

Don't worry when you come to the diner, it will still be in the last place you left it for ease of coming back...just the scenery out the window will have changed !

Ah yes, the joys of Office 07. What makes it real interesting is that Publisher was not skewered by the new toolbars like Word and Excel were. So you STILL have to remember where the buttons are in two different setups.

Hey!! You leave my Office 2007 aaaaaalllllloooooooooonnnne!!!Grumpy ------excuse me please Vinnie--people are picking on the poor thing---sheeeshWhistling I just love the way the ribbons are set on the thing---I'm used to it that way.

Good evening from tired out person here---I spent today getting my firewood set up and my fireplace cleaned out. Then I cleaned--ahern--my closets and cupboards. Which then was followed by getting my notes together for my workshops this week. Then I spent some time in my new recording studio getting new monitor speakers set up which then was followed by a proper workout on them----whew, what a dayDead

Anyhow---chloe, I'll have what Ulrich brought in please---yes my bloodsugar is properly low enough to handle it---no, I know what it is, ---yes I'll be carefull with it---and I'll have a coffee to go with that as well----yes, I know about the decaf---yes, I'll have sweetner as well--yes, I know about no creamer or milk ---yes, I did not come in here with any kahlua-----sheeeshWhistling I'll sit at the corner booth and check out these mags here----hey!! Who put Cosmopolitan in these Modelrailroader mags!?!?!IndifferentWhistling

Admittedly, I did pick it up faster than I thought I would. What really irked me though was the change at school was not across the board. the teacher's comps and 15% of the student comps were 07, the rest were 03, and you never really knew which one you got and couldn't find things well. It felt the first few days like the gap between a Mac and Windows. But it's all Office, it all works, and what I can't find is still findable under "F1".

I also come from a Mother who does tech work for IUPUI and related all the wonderous joys of compatability they had with it iwhen it first came out, so I could be biased.

'Evenin All:  Weather cleared last night, and we were visited by a total of 8 kids between 4:30 and about 7. What a hectic time! Warning, the live links below DO NOT OPEN IN A NEW WINDOW. They were set to do so, but that application is broken. (Mods reading this, can anything be done to fix THAT?) So right click and choose new window.

NERM:

Who's Vinnie?
You haven't run across him yet?  He's like the Maitre d' for the Diner

...thought you'd better meet him He's treated with a wee bit more respect than your average Maitre D' might be because of his "connections"

Importantly for your general well being, he's Cousin Vinnie to the twins Zoe and Chloe, two of our waitresses. Actual photos of them are rare - Tipton Bill posted this http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y51/der5997/Gifs/People/waitress3.jpg the other day, but that can't be them, as at least one of the twins is a red head!  This may be Janie http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y51/der5997/Gifs/People/dinerwaitress.gif and she sometimes takes a turn in the kitchen if the (in all these years un-named) chef   is short handed. This isn't one of the twins either, check out the hair colour!

Ah! here we are, but which one is it?Just don't let Vinnie see you asking her!

Jeff:

Looks like Todd got pearl harbored by Vinnie. Bet that smarts!
.... The way I heard  it, it was Zoe herself!  ... ask Flip, IIRC from the Coffee Shop, he'd recognize the technique from an incident at a certain party! Whistling  Hope your ankle calms down a whole lot overnight.Angel

Ulrich: Dark chocolate and cheery brandy....what's not to like?  Starting November off in style, thanks!Dinner

Galaxy:

WHew! is it hot in here or is it me?
....no, just warm, but it's a DRY warm.Clown OH!, I also loathe and despise sites that obliterate everything you've filled in if you have the temerity to move off the page!SoapBox

Well, Kris is off to bed having been temporarily stumped by her computer game....I'd better turn in too.

Goodnight all, and God Bless. Prayers for all in need of Healing, Comfort, Employment / Prosperity and Peace.Angel

Well, good news: the Civic is FIXED! what it was, was a bad CV joint the shop had installed when they aligned the car. Not only did they fix it, they paid for the tow to their shop.

GREAT! See we told you things would work out fine!

The low tonight will be 60. Thunderstorms are expected tonight. I hope it's more than lightning and thunder. We got a little rain today, about enough to clean my windshield. No work on the layout. I had my plan of action ready to go but when I returned from grocery shopping I slipped while getting down from the van and banged up my ankle. It's been pretty hard to get along with today. I took my boot off earlier for a couple of hours and when I went to put it back on it almost wouldn't go on. I had to push my foot in because the ankle was swollen up like a large navel orange. Have to go to town tomorrow to activate a new debit card (has to be done at the banks ATM) and I have to go by the polling place to vote.

Evening Arizona. New place is nice. Dry heat isn't as bad as wet heat (florida).

Replaced the  bad o2 sensor and clay barred the car today.

Galaxy and Todd, You guys need some tylonol for the head banging and smacking?Smile, Wink & Grin

Ken, Are any of the blue boxes the ones for long cars (like the 85' TOFC car)? I'd want a few more so I can store my cars with trailers attached. You wouldn't happen to have any accurail dummy  couplers either? As for the pearl car, I'm trying to root up some BN grain hoppers or 40' boxes in either BN, GN, NP, CB&Q, or SP&S.

Robby, Sorry to hear you didn't do to hot on those tests. At least you got tests to see where you stand.

Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

Evening guys!

OH MAN OH MAN!!!!!

My other half was doing some xmas ordering for me online with my credit card-the only one we use online at all and it was the one that got comprimised, so it got comprimised somewhere online this year or last xmas when I ordered.

WARNING:   SoapBox  RANT COMING!

So long story short, Bang Head SoapBox I got called in to help with the order, even though I sent emails with specific Items i'd like from amazon.com {the train stuff already got ordered! whoo hoo!}. SO I said use my Amazon.com account all the shipping info etc is there already. Well. I forgot my &%$##  password. Usually a site will just send you the password at the email address on file, but NO not amazon.com! They want your email addy AND the last 4 digits of a credit card you used in the past with them AND your zip before they send you the Bang Head password reset option. Well, DUH! that card was comprimised and I didn't KNOW the Bang Head last 4 digits!!!! It also would NOT let me open a new account and start all over again!!! SO I scheduled for a call from customer service. The bloody customer service guy whose name was kjfkdjfsdio, probably in India, and told him I didn't have teh old # as that card was cancelled,  then he had the nerve to tell me he couldn't help me because they were upgrading their Bang Head system!!!!!!! Bang Head SoapBox

Bang HeadSoapBox  I finally solved the problem by going and digging out a very old bill from the old card which I happened to still have on hand, and got the bloody 4 digits! SO I entered it they sent an email with a link to change my password and THEN there was NOTHING in the Bang Head shopping cart when I tried to continue the order process!!! SO we had to start ALL OVER AGAIN and FIND the items to ORDER AGAIN!Bang Head SoapBox

I swear, I have ordered a lot from Bang Head amazon.com, but may never again!Bang HeadSoapBox

Rant SoapBox over!

Sorry about all the Bang Head!!!

WHew! is it hot in here or is it me?

Flo...set me up with a stiff Drinks, I need one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, and THIS TIME I emailed myself the Bang Head password and stored it on AOL so I have access to it in the future.

TYYALLL8R

EDIT OH, MAN!!! NOW I SEE I'M AT THE TOP SO I WILL KEEP THE Bang Head CC OUT FOR Y'ALL TO ORDER UP!

I did study for the math part, but still didn't do to good.   Like  I was saying before....I rather start all over than be thrown into a class and be lost.

Jessica and I will work on the chalk board tonight, and maybe I can get some shot sup tomorrow.

Afternoon good people!

Zoe, just a ..... Oh Man, did Petra bake that Swartziknmsjvbmz thiny cake over there.  Oh I just have to have a hunk of THAT!!!  Looks yummy!  Oh and a cup of decaf please.

I got the pickup loaded with wood, but my son didn't have time before he had to get to w*rk to help unload it at his house so I will tke THAT over in the morning.  i am going to give both mu son and his wife  face cord of wood for their birthdays...  Art's was last week and his wife's is this week.  I figure the Firewood can warm their hearts all winter long.....  (Badum, dum)

Got all the paperw*rk done for tonight's meeting and the agenda done for Deacons on Wednesday. So.... I am now caught up for the moment on things that are in the PANIC category.  I think I will start to stack some wood this afternoon to further clean up the driveway so the firewood supplier can have enough room to dump the rest of it later this week.

Robby, sorry about the tests, but as been said, it is not really a failure, but a starting point for you to learn.  I know you will breeze through the courses with no problem.

Psst....  Zoe, I brought in a bottle of Fox Run Winery Pinot Noir just for Ulrich....  Ok?

need to tend the wood stove...

Later! 73

Good Afternoon, Arizona. Flo, I'll take a cheeseburger and fries.

It ain't one of my suggestions, but I am good with it. I get on the Mother Road in Oklahoma, and I take a slow cruise through history. I love it.

If you plan to motor West, Travel my way, Take the highway that's the best. Get your kicks, on Route 66.

I love this highway.

Now, I just need a 59 Cadillac ElDorado

Good Evening Folks!

A drab day today, which made me feel bad - somehow I am not happy in my skin these days.

Flo, is there still a bottle of Ray´s wine left - I´d like to have a glass.

Galaxy - Schwarzwaelder Kirschtorte mit viel Kirschwasser - yummy. Petra´s favorite!

Not really a low calorie, low cholesterol diet, though!

Robby - I am sorry about your not passing the exams, but don´t let that get you! You are a man of many talents and I am sure you will find your way!

Well, out I go - not a happy camper today!

HI guys afternoon,

Got a special package from UPS  from a friend here on the forum of PRR cars to go behind the GG1 I ordered for my other half for Xmas. The have rapido couplers on them so I am trying hard to find a con cor n scale microtrains truck replacement to convert at least one car to dual couplers. MAN is that hard to find the right number then find a dealer who has it!!! Will have to try and find an ATLAS conversion chart but right now my head hurts over it. Maybe I take a car with me to the train show in syracuse and find it there? Without my other half knowing? Ha HA.

Back from the Drs. and from shooping. Ohter half gonna make a good old world old fasioned Black FOrest Cake for a friend's B-day who requested it some time ago. The kind with vodka-soaked cherries and Kirschwassa alcohol in it. DOn't drive after this cake! Or light a match!

GMTRacing. check the PM conversation we've got going at teh moment!

well USPS arrived with another pkg...I believe its the pkg from Hawaii weve been wiating weeks for!

SO I go see what it is!

Robby P.failure simply means they know what you need work on to get to where you need to be!ANd remember it doesn't mean you are a failure!

Good Afternoon all,

I'd have sworn blind I posted right after Galaxy moved the diner but I guess not. Might have dozed off in the middle of posting and then just closed it all out when i woke up later.

Just another day at the shop so far - trying to do eight things at once. Waiting for it all to hit the fan with E-mails as we will inform the Pittsburgh folks that we are withdrawing their event from our calendar after a 28 year run (irreconciable differences I guess is the best explanation). Lots to do yet so I'll catch up later. Will try to find my GC shots from a few years ago that show where we're tied up.   CUL, J.R.

Mornin'!

Late getting in here this morning as I have already done a days worth of answering emails and other stuff.  Flo, just a cup of dark roast and a couple of those glazed sour cream doughnuts you got over there.  BTW, why is Todd asleep in the middle of the floor?  Oh!  Out cold huh?  Who'd he get THAT from?  He did what?  Hope he comes to soon.  Somebody could trip over him and get hurt....

Just a quick stop here this morning as I have a load of stuff to get done and deadlines to meet...

later!

Good Morning! Coffee please. Thanks. Running late gotta make it quick. Woke up this morn to my old friend Sinus Pressure.

Partly sunny, with a high near 58. East wind between 9 and 11 mph, with gusts as high as 16 mph. Night times will be in the mid to lower thirties until Friday when we are suppose to get down to 26. Long johns may be coming out next week if not by the end of this week.
Well, like Jeff, the ole’ deposit courtesy 20 years with Uncle Sam should be in the bank. I call it my welfare check. That's mmmpretty much what it is if you think about it and the guidelines too follow. Anyway,  I need a florescent light for the garage. Three actually. I’m tired of the bulb type……bulbs. Both incan and cfl’s. I will get, and install three 4ft pairs as I have three light fixtures now. Not all at once mind you, I’m lazy. Just one in the middle. The other two on the sides will come later. I’ve only been doing this for about oh…..13-14 years. Not wanting to rush right into things you know. I prefer florescent tube lighting in garages and workshops over bulbs. Of course I tride the CFL’s, but they have the same effect as the incans to me. I will install a forth in the rear of the garage above the open garage door sometime in the future warmth. But not now. I would have to get in the attic and run a wire and box. Too cold. Ya, that's it. Too cold.

Whoa! Way late now!

Y’all have a Great Day now ya hear?!!!

EDIT: Oh GEE WHIZ! Got TOP the first morn of the new locale. That means EVERYBODY will stop in and try the new quisine. OK Zoe, here's the card babe. Might as well put something on it for you too. Make it something lite. I notice you're getting a little paunchy.
