Good luck at the foot doc Jeff.  Prayers will conitue for you and a speedy recovery.

PC, prayers will also continue for you and yours from me and mine.

Well guys, the day arrived yesterday.  Mikayla Elizabeth was welcomed into the world at 12:00pm.  All 7lbs, 10oz of her.  Mom and baby are both doing fine, just taking a break away from the hospital at my parent's house to be able to catch up with things (as the hospital does have wi-fi, but it's password protected).  Just wanted to drop by before heading back up there.  If any of you have facebook, lemme know with a pm and I'll give you the information to check out the pictures.

My Bachmann order of 3 40' tank cars has been filled by H & R Trains in Pinellas Park, Florida. It's being delivered by FedEx and should be here in a week.

Visit with the foot doc went well. The surgical incision is healing well and has no deep spots. I go back to see him again Monday morning. The Home Health nurse comes tomorrow.

Barry I finally remembered the composer. An early Baroque composer of Italien birth but composed at the French Court.  Jean-Babtiste Lully.  Conductors did not use the batton that is used today and since Court Orchestras were considered military at the time Lully's choice of "weapons" was the Mace.  Most gentlemen of the era wore swords as part of their formal attire.  J.S. Bach was fired from his first conducting job in a church in Germany at the age of 16 for getting in a sword fight during rehearsal with his bassoonist.  He looked at the man and said, "Du bist ein Zipplefaggotist (sp)!"  Maybe Ulrich can explain it better, but he called him a bassoon player that sounded like a nanny goat and also refered to him in the familiar "du" which was an insult speaking to someone much older.......

My sister told me that was who it was this morning! I had a feeling that it was not a "French" composer but do you think me brain could come up with anything? nnnooooooooo----Whistling As for the zipplefaggotist---not going there---Whistling it can get---ern---kinda colourful shall we say----

-------------------------------------------------------------------

'Spring' is all cuddled up with me so I'm going to spend a little time with him----

Chloe---I'll have a nice decaf to settle down----had a piculous day with doctors ----Whistling

Or at least off-colorfulWhistling.

BAMA - congrats on the new arrival and it's good to hear both mom and baby are doing well.

Keith - The Pola cement is probably near enough to others but will for sure work on the coloured parts in the kit (and probably equally well on other German styrene kits which I suspect all come from the same source with different levels of detail parts depending on price). The plastruct is the only stuff I found that works on the Plastruct grey and black structural parts. The micro clear should be good on any of the clear styrene parts to bond with out hazing or crazing the plastic (especially for us more mature less keen of sight codgers who may get a bit here or there where it shouldn't be). I also like Tenax 7R and Testors model master both of which wick into prefit parts. I only use super glue on metal or wood bits (good with the accelerator) after having to disassemble, scrape and reglue one of those Faller Bietschtal Bridges because the super glue didn't hold the plastic well enough. Fortunately the soldered track joints held to keep the DL109 from crashing to it's death in the river bed below. That's one heavy locomotive.

I'd like a piece of key lime pie (to eat!)

BAMA .......... !!!!!!!! Congrats to you and your wife !!!!!!!!!!!!

Jeff  ..... Glad to hear your foot is getting better.

PC .... Prayers continue for your wife and son.

Special prayer for families impacted by the Ft Hood tragedy.

Jerry .... I really like your SD unit. !!!!!!!

Keith ... I did not like the floquil markers when I tried them. The problem was the paint was way too thin even though I shook the makers much longer than should have been needed.

Ulrich  .... I continue to be concerned about you. In particular, I hope your heart is healing from the surgery. Are you feeling better physically?

On the layout .... I repaired more of the backdrop damaged by humidty due to a water heater that leaked while we were out of town several weeks ago.  .... I am working on a downtown building kit from City Classics. ..... In the next day or two, I should be receiving a new wireless DCC starter set.

Evening all. An RBF for me.

I almost have my old car completly parted out. I just have to get the transmission out from under it (it's disconnected and laying on the ground under the car), and put some older A-arms on it to roll it onto a dolly to be dropped off at a friend who will further part it out (he wants the VIN plates the most). I'm going to take the front seats out of it and put them into the 90 since they should fit and the ones in the 90 are pretty rough.

I actually got a bit of MR time in for once. I got my Athearn RTR SD40-2 to be quiet, worked on the noisy Atlas motor I have, and got holes drilled into my U33C for the grab iron set from an atlas U23B I got; Only to discover I lost the grab iron set. Luckily I have enough spare grabs for everthing, except for the ones atop the nose. I have some liftrings and some wire, so I might try bending some wire and using the lift rings (like the walthers CB&Q wood caboose kits) to make it.

GMTRacing, I haven't looked at the transmission yet. I'm going to be going to some of the junkyards in Pensacola so I'll see if any of the cars there may have some parts I could use. Maybe find the stock clutch cable as opposed to the craptacular Autozone one that's in there

Vincent

Wants: 1. high-quality, sound equipped, SD40-2s, C636s, C30-7s, and F-units in BN. As for ones that don't cost an arm and a leg, that's out of the question....

2. An end to the limited-production and other crap that makes models harder to get and more expensive.

We got back from the hospital not too long ago.  Everything went well, but my boy is not feeling so hot.  His tummy is pretty tender, and of course his knees are hurting, but he can walk with a walker (not too far, but it's all good).  Thanks for the prayers everyone!  We'll know if it's a success in 3-4 months.  Everyone around here is pretty drained for know, but........LET THE HEALING BEGIN!

Evening all from WeatherChangingCal:

We've got some rain moving in from Alaska supposedly tonight--it's nice and cloudy (and cold) out there now.  I knew this was coming, my students were all CRAZED today, bless them. Tongue

If you want to know the weather conditions at any time of the week, just teach teenage boys--they're the best 'weather vanes' in the world (sorry, Sawyer, LOL!).    I was having a conversation with a couple of fellow teachers in the lounge during lunch, and one of them asked me, since I used to teach at a Catholic Girl's school, "Which is easier to teach, Tom?"  I thought about it (for about ten seconds) and said, "Boys.  Girls are all Intense Drama between 14 and 18, boys are just Goofy.  For instance, girls get rid of their Barbie Dolls around age 11.  Boy's do not give up their toys until their deathbed.  And then only reluctantly."   The male teachers chuckled (we KNOW, GUYS!), the female teachers furrowed their brows.  (Oh, THAT'S why you're so Weird!).

So there.  Now we know.  Whistling

Jim:  It wasn't the Golden Gate, it was the Bay Bridge, which goes into San Francisco from a different angle (east-west).  Yah, it disrupted traffic all over Northern California.  But what we find so fascinating about this whole debacle is that it's not the 70-year-plus ORIGINAL  construction that failed, but a 3-week old TEMPORARY construction that went banging down onto the roadway.   Kinda embarrassing, right?

Ulrich:  Are you near Detmold where the Arminius statue is?  I saw it when I was in Germany and it's really impressive.  Now I understand that archeologists have placed the actual battle about 50 or so miles south.   Actually, the guy's my 'hero'.   Why the Romans (who considered their women 'property') thought the ancient Germans were 'barbarians' (when their women had total equality) is beyond me, LOL!    But he sure slammed the Hell out of three Legions.

Phil:  Prayers for your son's surgery.  So glad your wife is doing better.

Ray:  OUCH!   Gout!!   I get it occasionally in my left big toe and though it's supposed to be 'mild' according to my doctor, it makes me want to chew bricks.  You've got my sympathies.  Oh, and about Lully--did you know that he whacked his foot with his conducting 'baton'--actually, a big stick--and it got infected and he died of gangrene poisoning?   Another reason for a  little hand-held baton when conducting a bunch of crazy musicians, by golly!    Of course, we Choral People don't use batons (at least most of us), we like to hypnotize our singers with our finger movements.  No, not THAT finger movement, though I've been tempted sometimes Laugh

Well, for all of you who have been following the Great Sunset HO Z-6 Challenger 4-6-6-4 Drama over the past year-- I just got word from Bruce's that--GASP!! Shock--my Great Northern locomotive will arrive on December 21st of this year.  Just in time for Christmas.   Now this is the loco that I put a $300 deposit on about a year and a half ago and have been patiently awaiting (yah, SURE!)  ever since.  However, the call from Bruce's yesterday informed me that I have to pay the rest of it off BEFORE it arrives, in fact by December 10, which also happens to be my 70th birthday, to the tune of about $700.  Now, that's not much of a problem as far as the finances, since I've been stocking the money away anyway, but I'm kinda/sorta curious about this, since  I've never had to PRE-PAY for any special order before in my life.  Okay, I know it's the Economy, and we're talking a brass loco, but before, I've only had to pay the balance when I picked up the loco, not several weeks before.

I'm not 'ranting,' mind you, I'm just kinda/sorta curious about this whole thing.  The last special order loco I bought, I paid for when it arrived.  But this one doesn't get into my hot little hands until I've prepaid the entire thing two weeks before I open the box.   Let's say that I'm just a little nervous about this.  But then again, if this is the 'new' procedure, I'll just have to live with it, I suppose.

However, when Christmas WPF arrives, assuming I've got that handsome puppy, I'll post photos.  I'm sure that Spooky and Uff-Dah will be as anxious as I am.  After all, THEY need something new for their critical little feline eyes to feast on. Whistling

Best to all, prayers to those in need.

Tom Big Smile

 Evenin' folks!

Flo just a cup of decafe if you please, I'll go sit out of sight in the back.........

blownout cylinder
As for the zipplefaggotist---not going there---Whistling

Well I seem to have misspelled the word.......DisapproveWhistling  The word should have been something meaning "nanny goat", and the word fagott, meaning bassoon.  That is fagotto in Italian.  Also means a bundle of sticks/kindling.  Wonder why I flunked German in college????  I do remember my artist teacher of voice going into hysterics with some of my pronunciations of German lied.

Spent this evening with Troop 1  doing the Railroading MB.  They are about 1/3 the way through the merit badge right now.  I was very pleased how well they remembered what they learned and saw at the museums last Sunday.  They also played a game where they had to identify 10 different kinds of RR cars, explained to me how a Diesel Electric loco develops power, took a test on the Operation Lifesaver Materials we learned the first time I went to the meeting, and were able to respond to and identify 3 different whistle blasts used on the railroad.  We spent the last few minutes of the meeting watching one of the Operation Lifesavor DVDs (Are you in Control?).  Six of the 8 Scouts were there tonight.  One of the Scouts who is Autistic went on a dissertation about the PRR GG1 locomotives..... He also told me he knows how steam locomotives worked.   I think he likes trains.Whistling

One of the fathers at the meeting is the head of bus services at a neighboring school system.  he was telling me that about the time he took the job, FGLK came in and took he and his drivers on a cab ride where they threw the loco into emergency braking so they could see just how far it takes to stop at that speed.......  He gained a lot of respect for what to do and what not to do around the tracks and was very glad i am pushing the safety aspect of the MB.

Oh, Tom, yes Lully liked to stand at attention during the performance holding the Mace (a long spear like thing with a heavy iron ball on the other end). If the orchestra got off tempo, he would pound the mace on the floor.  He missed the floor and hit his gouty foot which became infected.  He refused to have the doctors cut off the foot and therefore died of gangrene.  Thus becoming the first major composer to kill himself during a performance of one of his own operas........  Was it Charles Bizet who after listening to a Soprano butcher one of his songs, looked at her and said, "that was very interesting.  Who wrote it?"  But I still like Bach stories the best......  Like the time he was asked why he couldn't just play the hymns, why did he have to do all that other stuff (which became his wonderful choral preludes), and for what purpose he invited a pretty blond into the choir loft after rehearsal........  HmmmmmmWhistling  (He said that wasn't a pretty blond, it was his cousin.)

Philip, glad the surgery is over and the healing can begin.  I will hold you and yours in my prayers!

I think I was on my feet too long tonight.  After being good all day, my big toe is starting to ache again....  Time to go ice it down for a while.  later!

Evening, Chloe - I'll have a cup of hot cocoa to go, please. Oh, I'm just standing up - sitting in here has become a bit... dicey lately, if you know what I mean. Wink

We almost had some frost this morning, but it was more like a thin slushee on the car's windshield and windows. Got the rag out of the trunk and wiped it off. Supposed to be cool again tonight (30's F), then maybe warm up over the weekend.

GMTRacing
Jim - reading about your dilema it amazes me how short sighted (yes, and selfish) the pointy haired bosses can be. ...Next they'll require to bunk in there so you can be available 24-7, right? You are probably correct in assuming the real issue is the boss bees don't want to be bothered with real responsibility or duties. Until your situation can be changed I suppose the only defense is speaking out and in the mean time as they say in the old country "illegitimus non carborundum".

JR - 1) No way I'm gonna bunk there 24X7. 2) Actually, with this bunch, speaking out can be a CLM (Career-Limiting-Move): several months back (maybe a year), they sent a form to everyone, indicating that we were aware that 'Missouri does not have a right to work' law, and that we could leave without notice, and they could fire us without notice (and we were expected to sign those and return to admin.)...Intimidation? Nah, they wouldn't do that - MUCH! I have politely bucked them on a few issues, and got a written reprimand (or something) for insubordination some months ago. (And I'm proud of that, at times!) Big Smile 3) I just think that the highest levels of managment here just don't think things through. Kinda sad if that's really what's happening (and I couldn't prove it isn't by what I've seen/heard)... And really sad for the clients coming in (without commercial insurance) to just start services. Whoever on staff winds up covering it will get buried with covering it in short time (and they'll have to figure something else. Sigh Got to get my licensure done and my resume out!...

Jerry - you have been busy with the building program there - that's a huge set of structures there! Thumbs Up

Jeff - thanks for the instructions on those colors. Yeah!! Nice shot of your lash-up on the locos, too. Smile And great to hear you got a good report from your foot Doc. Thumbs Up

Todd, my apologies for not getting you a card for the 40th anniversary of Sesame Street, too! Whistling

Bama (Eddie), Mikayla sounds like she's a good healthy weight, and good to hear she and her Mom are doing well. Bow I'm sure Amy is more pleased, now that the delivery is over and done with!

Ray, take care of that foot (toe), and when are you getting to the doctor for it? (Hint, hint...)

Rob, hope you get some MRR'ing done while the in-laws are there (as I'm sure you will). Whistling

PC - good to hear that your son's through the surgery fine and is starting the healing process. Angel continue, naturally.Thumbs Up

BridgeTom, that is weird that the original bridge is holding up. Guess as the really old fogies used to say, "They just don't make 'em like they used to", eh? Wink Hey, better be careful there, or the forum software will be labeling your posts 'PG-13' WhistlingLaugh

Not sure how many of you saw about the Fort Hood (TX) shooting this afternoon. Sometimes I just have to shake my head at where we seem to be headed.. Prayers for the soldiers and their families (both living and those killed by the gunmen (I'm guessing the other two were. Can't understand how a psychiatrist would do that. Sigh

On a little more pleasant note, tomorrow is payday, which will be nice (even if I am on-call for the evening). I'll be headint to H-L with my 40 percent off coupons on Sat. after laundry and see what's new that I haven't already bought too many of  in the past.Oops

Prayers for continued healing, good health and blessings for all in need (kids, feet, family members and the rest of us).

Blessings and prayers,

Jim in Cape Girardeau

"Which is easier to teach, Tom?"  I thought about it (for about ten seconds) and said, "Boys

Well of course we are Tom!!! Isn't that kinda obvious. If you teach girls, then you have half the class leaving to go to the bathroom all at once, just cause they don't want to be alone! I still don't understand why they do that though...

Anyone else notice how SEPTA isn't having a very good week? First the strike, then that Silverliner II getting burned up, and now the track inspector killed...

I'll be in the back corner, waiting for the late night Intermodal to come through.

EDIT: Looks like I got TOP (again)! That's been happenning a lot lately. Maybe a bit too much...

Wild Bill's Beef Jerky, Zoe.

Well, I like the EZ track better than the Atlas stuff, so I guess that is what I'm using for now. Also I'm adding lighting to my caboose, using two coupler springs that I got when I changed the couplers on the new tank.

I found out that the red powder that you find whenever you clean out your wood stove's flue is a great rust colored weathering powder, along with diesel soot, which makes a good black/grime.

Speaking of which, My Uncle was there when it happened. He worked in the same department, but luckily he was in a different building. Also, My cousin was scheduled to be in the waiting room during the time it happened, but, being in the air force, there was a alert and he was at a airfield during it.

Prayers for all the diner people, and the family's of the people in the shooting. Angel

 Good Morning,

actually, I don´t know whether this is a good morning. I could not sleep at night, so I got up VERY early and switched on TV,  just to see the report on the shooting in Texas. I am shocked. How can anyone do this? I will never understand. My Angel for the victims and those left behind.

Zoe, just a glass of water  - I need to take that pain killer.

Eddie - I am glad to hear that Mikayela has arrived safely and mom and daughter are both well! Congratualion!

Phillip - my Angel continue for your wife and your son for a thorough recovery!

Tom - the statue of Arminius is actually at the wrong place - that battle supposedly took place at a village called Kalkriese, which is about a two hours drive away from my place. Arminius was turned into a national hero in the late 1800´s, when they built that huge statue. The Roman army was not trained for guerrilla warfare. He beat them with a hit-and-run tactics in the dense forest of northern Germany. His biggest achievement was, by the way, not beating the Romans, but putting all those various German tribes under one command. Even today, we are more Saxons, Bavarians, Hessians, etc. then Germans.

Got to see the doctor today - I am not feeling well at all.

 Have a good day!

Good morning. It's 49 and clear. The high will be in the mid 70's and there will be clouds.

Today the Home Health nurse will be coming around about 1 pm to change the dressings on my foot and my iv line then about 5 - 6 pm my sister and I will be going to the local steak house for dinner. Other than that there's not much going on in my world today, except, for a project I'm working on. It's an Athearn GP50 BB body on an Athearn GP38-2 BB frame. Talk about a close match! The result will be what I'll be categorizing as a GP42X. I am however missing a crucial part, that being a dynamic brake housing. I have a couple of housings laying around. One is for a GP38 and lacks dynamics and the other is from an old SD40 and has 2 DB fans. I lost the original DB housing in an experiment with some paint stripper. It just kinda dissolved away to nothing. The loco will be mated tail to tail with a GP38-2 that has no dynamics and I want the GP42X to have Dynamics. I can trim the SD40 DB housing to fit but it's gonna look a bit strange on a 4 axle loco and I'd much rather have the GP50 DB cover on it. If anyone has an Athearn GP50 dynamic brake housing they don't need please let me know. I sure could make use of it.

Good morning, the sun is shining and the weather guessers are calling for 50s today.

jeffrey-wimberly

Yep, w**ks like a charm. I've done it the other way around, a 38-2 body on a 50 frame. That gets me the proper, longer fuel tank for a CNW (woulda been RI) unit. Sorry Jeff, I looked in my bin of diesel parts, but no DB panel. I thought I woulda had a 38-2 DB panel, since I've got two of 'em non-DB. I suspect they went out a few years ago when I sold-off a bunch of surplus parts. I found a non-DB panel, of unknown origin, possibly for a Front Range geep. I could graft some Athearn geep DB parts to it, but I think it'll come up short on ya.

Facetime with THAT in a little over two hours. She's getting the final football write-up of the season, lots of pics from a rehearsal of "Bye Bye Birdie," an article for all three publications about a new library in Swisher, and a really crappy article about the Iowa City School District wanting to realign it's boundaries. Since one "oh crap" wipes out a hundred "attaboys," we'll see what happens.

Hey BAMA CSX (Eddie), GLAD to hear all is well with your wife and little Mikayla!!!!

PC: Glad the surgeries all went well this week for your family too. Did you say, in your son's case, it will be months before it is known if it worked? Wow... that's a long time to hold your breath. Continued best wishes.

ULRICH: I agree with you on the Ft. Hood massacre. How can someone do that? I think it comes in part from some conflicted loyalties. I'll stop there before I cross lines of "politics."

I suppose it's about time to start getting ready for "facetime."

Yippee.

Have a good, SAFE day, everybody.

Good morning, just coffee and some old-guy cereal for me today, Chloe! That is your name, isn't it? I'm new around these parts so forgive me if I got it wrong. The breakfast sure smells pretty good in here, even if you have to check under your cushion before you sit down!

Out on the railroad, I decided to use some masonite splines for subroadbed instead of plywood, which entailed the purchase of a table saw to cut the strips, of course. My poor wife!

My young fuzzbutt cat seems very determined to destroy the mini-blinds in the layout room. He's a joy to have around, but he does not like them blinds! I cannot wait to see what he will do when it comes time to run some trains around! Out here in Oregon, people are encouraged to provide homes to cats and dogs, and I'm happy we found room for this little guy.

I'm sure he will be a lot of fun when the scenery is installed, walking around like Godzilla!

Ah, there's that coffee! Thanks, hon!

Good morning ... I'll have a pecan roll and TH coffee ples.

Jeff .... I see you Sundown Shops are back in full swing. I assume your vision is back in full swing, too. Great!

Jerry .... Your pond will look great. (I can say that with little pondering.)

I mentioned here yesterday I was repairing some of my backdrops. The backdrops in my WPF post are some of those repairs.

Happy Model Railroading!

Good morning, Chloe.  I will have a quick coffee before heading to town.

Philip,  I bet you might get some layout time while everyone is convalessing.  Glad that everything went well.

Tom,  Are you getting the wet weather that we are?  It has been accompanied with high winds.

Good Morning, Zoe - the sun has been shining here in Cape G., and I'll be thankful for that. Oh, sure, I'll have a glass of Ed's OJ, two scrambled eggs and some wheat toast with blackberry jam, some hash browns, glass of milk and a Santa Fe mug of coffee, please 'n' thank you. Dinner

Ulrich, I hope you get things checked out with your doctor today and the Dr. helps you get things back on track so you'll be ready for the move (whenever the powers that be get off their keisters...). Wink

Chris, best wishes on your visit with THAT editor this morning, and may she just glide over the school board without comment.

Jeff - on your DB part(s), do you have any LHS (or sorta-LHS) you could check out for that/those? Maybe they might have some old kit or parts bin that would have close to what you need. You do a great job of 'merging' different models of diesels, all right. Thumbs Up Enjoy your dinner with your Sis tonight. Dinner

Sign - Welcome to the DIner, TwoTruck(Shay)! Yep, some of the Diners will probably give you tips on keeping furry Godzilla off the layout (like closing the door, etc.). I like the 2-truck Shays myself - would love to find another one to go with the MDC Roundhouse one I have. I had another MRR club member fix the loose rods/linkage on it, and I think he remotored/regeared it with NWSL parts, plus installed a decoder in it for me. But I know that finding a 2-truck Shay is about like finding an honest politician nowadays... (Did I say that out loud? My bad!)Oops Have another cup of coffee on me - Zoe, put his drink on my tab. Thanks!

Well, it's payday, so time to restock various things I'm about out of (pens, groceries, gas, etc.) and figure what's left over. The on-call check wasn't as big as I would've liked. Left some in savings at the moment for sending in with my licensure papers; GOT to get that off, with the instability of my w**k situation.

Will get by H-L tomorrow to see what to use their 40 percent off coupon on, and may also swing by the LHS down the road to see if he has any Athearn kits left in stock I might get. Also want to start soldering feeders to the track and running the main bus wire lines under the layout (probably should draw out how I need that to go/be, huh?...). May use some of those Floquil pens to try to weather the rails (and wipe the tops off afterward). We'll see what the weekend holds in store.

I'll be with TwoTruck here at the RC (having swept the area for hidden cushions and such...) and talk about Shays a bit, maybe pick his mind on them.

Prayers for those in need of comfort, continued healing, good test results and all our other needs. AngelAngel

Blessings on your Friday,

Mornin' everyone!

Chloe I'll have a bran muffin and my usual dark roast coffee in a FGLK mug if you please.  I'll go sit at the rivet counter for a while.

Jim, Tuesday!  It is my regular 6 months appt.

Two Truck, welcome aboard.  Sit down (just check under the cushion first) and tell us a bit about yourself....  Is Two Truck your real name???

Decals from Rail Graphics came in yesterday's mail.  May get a chance to try them out later this afternoon.

Have to run some errands, go to the bank for some $$$ to spend foolishly in Syracuse tomorrow,  run off the envelopes for the MLK fund raiser, clean house.......  Stuff like that.  Hope to have time to get down cellar to the layout for a bit.  I will do my best to stay off the foot and give the toe a rest.  Doesn't feel bad right now, but by evening it has been throbbing.

Later!

jeffrey-wimberly

Jeff, your pics.. when studied,  have a certain distinctness about them.  I can't place it.  At first I thought maybe it was the backdrop.. or is it?  Is it something simple about the placing of houses?  Did you, drawn lines of 'perspective'  to give a distant look?  But the light and the shading ... as if its all real.  Jeff, please share with me,  us,  on how you came to this particular setting of the buildings.  BTW.. is that natural light .. drawing across the layout ?  Or.. spot lighting.?  Thanks Keith

Good Afternoon - or should I say Good Night?

It is getting dark here - way too early for me to feel comfortable. I spend a lot of time at my doc´s, just waiting for some tests. He is not really happy with the results. The emotional stress keeps me from recovering the way I should. I cannot say that I am not worried Sigh Why am I not just a bear, getting ready for hibernation?

Zoe, oh, sorry, it is you, Flo - may I have a hot chocolate in my LKAB mug, please n´ thanks! I see we have a new member in here, so I I sit with him.

Hello, Two Truck Shay  pleased to meet you . Glad you found your way to this place - so a big Sign - Welcome from the other side of the Big Pond. Petra has made some of this

for us, so let´s give it a try, before the chowhounds hit the place ... Smile,Wink, & Grin

Ray - take care of that toe of yours!

Chris Eight Ball - keep my fingers crossed for the encounter with THAT lady editor.

My thoughts are with those in need - especially the victims and their loved ones of the Fort Hood massacre!

"Morning Chloe~ I'll have a cup of inspiration"

Morning All~  Wow .. its going on 8 am and the sun came up.. long time ago.. its no wonder I woke up slowly and early.

PC Glad to hear everything came out fine... now the road to recovery.

Jerry, are you doing N scale?  Nice pic, I've always wanted to have a few mobile trailers .. but haven't found exactly what

I"ve been looking for.  Is anyone here at the Diner using N scale?  Maybe we could trade some parts and stuff...lol.100_0337.jpg picture by Blazzin55

Heres a Train Portal I bashed.. well sort of.  I just can't stand how thin some of these portal are.  Even the thicker ones

seem too thin.  So I made a thicker one, using a thin Peco.  I think a thicker one would  be easier.  Then I'll take a

wooden frame .. glue this down bashed portal down and pour silicone over it and make a mold like this blue one.

GMT.. I used the Kristal Klear on some of this bashed portal. Its like a very thick Milk Glue.  Gave me time to work

with it. I also used the Plastruct plastic weld glue.  That seemed nice.. for different types of plastic like this portal.
