Lee a lot of us have been there I went from beirut one year too the first gulf war a few years later. I sent  the poem on the USS Wisconsin's web masters email so he could send it to the rest. I use to have in my signature till they changed the forum here a full broad side shot from the USS Wisconsin.

We appreciate all that our fellow men and women in arms have supported our leader weather they agree with him or not. I know a lot would like it to end so they could get home or not have to go but they go because there told to . Yes they could desert or find a way out probally but they have more honor than that.

Enough on that train talk time again won 2 auctions last night a #112 standard gauge gondolla (1912 - 1926 (4 different version need to find out which one when I get it) and a U36B Southern dummy to go with my 2 Southern power U36B's

Getting ready for thanksgiven here

'morning everyone

had a pretty fun night yesterday - went to my first meeting for the LNMRR club.  Met Dan (Dansapo) and Tom (tstage) there.  I didn't do too much to help build anything - Dan was witing up one of the "jump" sections between two of the staging yard modules (now there's only two more to wire up - the yard is 4 modules total).  I helped hin as best I could - although putting a battery to the track isn't that much, LOL.

Though, I did come up with a (somewhat) improved way of storing the completed modules, no matter what the other guys say.  I was in the storage room for a lot of the time, helping Tom out with the new scheme for keeping everything neat (and making sure he didn't break anything else).

NeO,

Shoot me an email about your new Mrr club. The Middlefield club closed and there are a few of us wandering around and up to no good. Need to stick us in a club to keep us off the streets and out of trouble, LOL.

Hope that Jeff gets better quickly... and that he'll keep out of too much trouble for a little while, so that he can recover fully....

Lee - I sent you an email detailing what I personally know.  Try getting ahold of either dansapo or tstage (they're members too), they'll probably have better information than I do.

Evening Gang:

I've got prayers going out for Jeff. David tell him that I'm pulling for him.

That poem got me to thinking about Thanksgiving and Christmas in Viet Nam. Thanksgiving was spent with my first unit and I felt like I was with my family. Christmas was spent with a new outfit and I missed my family in the states and my family at the old unit. Double hurt. I left the party and headed down to the flight line. After saying a prayer for my crew chief from the old outfit I started to feel a bit better.

The doctor said that my eyes were alright, no glaucoma or retina problems. I do have caterracs that will have to be removed but not yet. New glasses will be here in a week or so and that should help a bunch.

I stopped at one of the LHSs on the way home. I bought a BLI heavey 2-8-2 with sound for $ 199.19. Happy birthday to me. I haven'  had time to run it yet on the layout. I also picked up a foam cradle for the locos when I'm working on them and some Labelle lubs.

I spent some time on the phone with the peoplepc tech. Supriseingly I got through in a couple of minutes and managed to get things worked out. The young lady on the other end was in India so I had a slight problem with her accent. She was very patiant and pleseant. Anyway I think that things are working all right.

Lisa: It looks like you are trying to take PCs place at the top of the page. I'll just have a cup of coffee.

Well I think that I'll say Good Night.

I've sailed with diabetics and they can go through some nasty mood swings if the blood sugar is off. It would also explain his passing out. Please send him our best and for a speedy recovery. I'd hold off on the strawberry pancakes as they may worsen his condition.

Not much on this end as I've been going to the hospital twice daily to take meals to dad and make sure he's eating them. The Doctor is hoping to have Dad out by Christmas but he's got a long way to go as he's dropped over 40 lbs. and is very weak. He's down to 130Lbs and at 5' 11" that's not good.

Went to the local train show this morning and picked up an old Silver Streak Box Car with TH&B markings.

I might get some MR'ng in tomorrow but doubtful. still waiting for the contractor to start in earnest. Hopefully it will be this week!

Hi guys, its Phil aka MOW. I haven't been on line much lately. The last train item I purchased was months ago, some kedee couplers. I have not installed any and doubt I ever will. My wife has been in the hospital going on ten weeks starting Monday. Praise the Lord for insurace. I spent the last week in the hospital myself. My doctor, son and I had a very frank meeting and you know the old expresion in poker. There's a time to hold and a time to fold. The chemo has quit working, the tumor marker numbers are up and the cancer it still there. So I decided it was time to fold. I came home with Hospice. I just want you guys and girls to know that I have enjoyed being a part of the forums and knowing you all. I have learned a lot from them and hope I have in some small way contributed something as well. I will check in from time to time as my energy level permits. Happy Highballing and keep them on the track( well at least try.) Phil

RT,

Nice to meet you. I've built three layouts and they've all been 1:48 scale. I don't collect anything, but focus on building scenery as my primary interest. I like all scales, but O is my choice for modeling and lets me get away with stuff.

I'm having a little trouble now with one of my pets on the loose. Shock [:O]

Enjoy the hobby Perry

perry1060: That's a nasty pet you have there! I bet it's the rail barrons and he is trying to control the hobo and bum population on your layout?

Dick,,, thanks you and every one else for the congrads. It was kinda neat, but hanging right next to ED's orange is the bestest honor. And thinks for the poem also.

Chuck,,, hope Kathy's feeling better now. We'll be thinking of you both.

Paul ,,, glad your eyes  were ok other than the catteracs. When you do have them removed, don't go swiming till they heal all the way. A friend of ours did after his surgury and water got in in his eyes and blinded him

David,, tell Jeff we hope he get the feelen betters soon and we'll be thinking of him.

Fergie,,, good to hear yur dads some better and hope it continues. We'll be thinking of ya'll too.

Man O War,,, Phil,, sure be sorry to hear bout your wife, but it's all in gods hands now, take some comfort in that. We'll all be here if you need us anytime.

Perry, another good batch of photos you got there thanks.

Went and did some rail fanning last Sunday and caught this CSX just the other side of Casey, #7549 leading

Went down by the yards in Effingham and found these two GT pulling yard duty, #4995 leading

Also found this spiker there

Nothings been going on here, just chores an kids seems like. Hope ta get on the layout some during the games today for a change. Hope ya'll has a good one.

PHIL...AKA...MOW I would venture to say you have contributed to everyone you have come in contact with here in the forums. All we need to contribute to someone's life is just to say "Hello, and ask how are you doing today?" Always know that [WE], and I feel I can speak for all the people here, will have you and your family in our prayers. Hang in there Buddy, and come back anytime you feel a need to talk. We will be here for you.

JEFFERY: Our prayers are with you and wish you a full recovery. You really should surrender that DL before someone is hurt or killed.

FERGIE: Hope your father does make it home for the Holidays. Contractors tend to be a little slow on startups. I am having the same problems on the house in Mississippi. We bought a travel trailor to park on the property just to be there more. Sure hope it makes a difference. He said he would be able to start on me full time by the middle of December.

PERRY: great photos. I think you need to feed your pet more often, unless its like Lee says

it's the rail barrons and he is trying to control the hobo and bum population on your layout?
LOL.

LUCT:thanks for the coffee, it sure warms the soul.

Prayers to all.........Neal

Good Morning All,

Just a quick run through as I'm at work beavering away on the dratted Lotus 7 which is being obstinent.

Phil - Sorry to hear the news and you'll be in our prayers as well. Please don't just go away, feel free to stop in and say hi whenyou feel the need. We're all here for you.

Jeff - Hope you get the meds straightened out so you feel better. Know all about what happens when they're not correct though not as drastically as you.

No time for MRRing lately though we did win an FA/FB set on e-bay in New Haven delivery colours. Speaking of which -  I love the pics Perry. That is not a pet problem though. I have it on good authority that it is a picture of Macinnes paying a morale boosting visit to the crews. He just forgot to turn his personal cloaking device on.

Inch - congrats on the pic of the pic for pic of the week. If a ratty looking RS-11 shows up and tows the crane away I know nothing. Glad the family is healing ok and for sure those returning home Dec 1 will be ok as that's my burthing day and nohing bad should happen.

Got to go - coffees ready and work awaits. CULBig Smile [:D], J.R.
