I have never had any problems telling my fellow classmates that I am into model railroading. I am currently a senior, and has never been an issue. Yes being in high school and building model trains is a bit of a challenge because of various distractions (gas, girls, cars etc..) that all require money, but it is possible. And the people that make fun of us have no idea what they are MISSING.
Hope this encourages you.......
Good morning ! from Indiana.

Good Morning All (and Dan),
Colder again this morning - actually turned the shop heat on when I got in. Regular coffee and after last nights football game I suppose a helping of crow will get me ready for our Dallas fan to arrive at work. Following the win over the Colts he will be insufferable.
No train stuff again, but when I return from this last race of the year the CFO and I are off to the Grand Canyon and Williams for a ride on the Grand Canyon Senic Railway. Should be fun.
All for now, still battling with the Lotus 7. How the car ever ran is amazing as nothing really fits when you go to reassemble. CUL,J.R.

Morning gang,
Tempertures in the low 30's this morning. That's about 15 degrees below normal for this time of the year. And there is a nice frost on the ground this morning.
Jerry. We wish you many, many more. I see PC is having a birthday party for you.
RYAN:
That holiday menu sounds really good, you cooking all that too?
MoM and I went Christmas shopping Saturday and Sunday , and now that is finished. Have to pick up groceries today for Thanksgiving. I'll start cooking tomorrow and have most of that done by Thursday morning. Still need to pick up the travel trailor from the dealer. Will try to do that today. We plan to do Christmas day on the road. Don't know where, don't care. That's what is great about being retired I guess.
RT: I'll take the turkey that is well done. Never liked biting into a rare bird.LOL
PC:
I had to scrape a bit of snow off the car this morning
Here is wishing every one a great day.............Neal
Good morning all you coffee shop patrons out there in Internet land today!
I pulled out the 14 lb. turkey last night for the marinating preparation, and tomorrow night I’ll be baking the Pumpkin Pies and Chocolate Bourbon Pecan Pies. Then on Thanksgiving Day I’ll be putting together my special Jack Daniel’s Sweet Potato Casserole. Can you say cornbread, mashed potatoes and gravy, waooooo……?
Many people are already off for the holidays, the parking lot is half full today, going to be slow here at work the next few days.
Dick, we are in the midst of a global cycle of atmospheric change that naturally occurs over time and since the industrial revolution it has been speed up a bit, and I sense that things are changing a bit faster than Mother Nature typically handles.
RT, another funny one there!
PC, thanks for dinner last night! That lobster tail and steak were perfect! Hit the spot!
Colby, just shrug it off and know that you are among friends here in the CS. There are many people who love this hobby and are not ashamed to admit it. People who make fun of others and who make put downs of others are themselves jealous and also insecure about themselves. They have to make other people feel bad in order to make themselves feel good, do not let it get you down. If you laugh with them when they are making wise cracks it usually diffuses the situation, sometimes if you just play along with it and turn it around on them they will stop. If it is coming from mean tempered classmates you should go to the office and tell the counselors or principle about their behavior. Especially since they are getting into more personal issues, and if that is making you uncomfortable I would definitely tell the office staff and let them know that they are making sexual harassments toward you, and others might be getting offended too but are too afraid to tell anyone.
Neal, good deal, I’ll be cooking too, starting tonight and tomorrow night with the desserts.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Morning Dan! Morning Everyone else!
Another chilly reception waiting for me when I went to the car this morning. Heavy frost and 29 degrees.
Here's the current local weather for the Indianapolis, Indiana area:
Hey Colby, don't sweat it man. Blow those comments off. Kids can be mean. If you pay attention to them it will just fuel the fire. Blow it off and pretty soon they'll focus on something else. Don't give them the satasfaction of getting to you.
Glad you liked the dinner Ryan.
Well, time to get some work done.
Prayers go out for all those in need (that's all of us really).

hey guys.. thaks for all of the advice. I've told my dad about. like you guys said just blow it off. though one of my buds addmitted that he liked the LEGO trains. I was suprised.... and here is some RR news from Maine. Elsworth track repair is starting on the old MCE trackage that runs from Elsworth up to Calis. possible excoursions by 2008, some switches on the line are in working order. Over the years many people have worked to keep the line free of trees, cleaned out culverts, ect. next year ties will be replaced. got it from the Trains news letter

Wow, it's amazing what a litle TLC will do to a loco...anyway - is there anywhere I could pick up either a #50 drill and self-tapping 2-56 screws, or the drill 2-56 screws and a 2-56 drill/tap set? I didn't think about it at the LHS because of assuming there were screws in the package, and that the locos already had body mount couplers... (learned my lesson after I got home.. NEVER ASSUME!)
Thanks for the dinner Dan.
Try this http://walthers.com/exec/search?manu=230&split=30 for the screws, drills, etc. And Dan if that is not what you are looking for just shop around Walthers.
