Afternoon all

PC

Glad you enjoyed the website. It's not so easy, is it?
Nope!!! Now that I know what to look for it will help but it could still be OOOHHHH NNNOOOOO!!!Oops [oops]Big Smile [:D] Other than my motorcycle the other hobby is R/C sailplanes but not as many as your cars.

Ryan

They must have pull out more stuff on Sunday, eh! Wish we could have stayed longer….
They were able to run more on Sunday because it didn’t rain like it did on Sat and maybe next year you will be able to stay longer.

My Dad told me to enjoy my days in school and being younger because as you get older the time goes by faster. I didn’t really believe it at the time, but age sure does have a way of making things like that come true and not all of the best days are in your younger years. I hope to have more and Jerry I kind of like the idea of being worn out and screaming WWWOOOOO HHHOOOO What a Ride!!!! When the time comes.Big Smile [:D]Yeah!! [yeah]

Ok,if you are ready, here are some more of Apex

This is looking down towards the steaming bays

More of the yard and rolling stock

That’s about it for now,but more to come

Best to all on sick call and those recoveringAngel [angel]Angel [angel]Angel [angel]

So the WAS you I saw the other day!

I thought about the planes, especially the sailplanes since I used to fly the real ones, but I just couldn't bear to crash all that hard work.  I did do R/C boats for a while.  Had a speed boat and a battleship, the Tirpitz (I don't think I spelled it right).  Those were fun.

Steve The pics would be good and to see the type of equipment that is run on that side of the Big Pond.

PC You saw that, huh ?? Boy my arms were really tired after that and it takes longer to rest up now in my advanced years.Big Smile [:D]Shock [:O]Wink [;)]Whistling [:-^] Never thought about boats as planes had always been the big interest when I was younger. I took flying lessons after high school and managed to get 23hrs in a Cessna 150 before I went into the U.S.AIR FORCE . I did have more hours in things like the Piper Cub and Stinson Station Wagon, but that was before I was born,so I guess that is why flying always was a big interest. My Dad got his license on the GI bill after WWII.

ModelTrainLover: Just the very fact that you accept the wisdom of others at your young age, is a sign of wisdom in you. Some say you learn by experience, and that is true, but if I can learn the pitfalls which lie ahead of me, from the trial and error experiences of others who are willing to share those experiences with me..I will grab it in a heart beat.
There are some really great people on this forum and in this Coffee Shop, you really can learn much from their combined experiences. We share our experiences freely because at our advanced age, we have nothing to prove, and we care about the young people going up behind us, because you "are" the future.
As for spelling, I went through 12 years of being taught by the sister's of St. Joseph, and from grades 3 through 8 we had spelling every day as a subject. Also, when you read a lot, you learn to spell by word recognition also.
Take pride in what you write, and take the time to spell correctly, as soon enough you will be filling out a resume for a job. If two people are going for the same job, and both have the same qualifications, but one guy has poor spelling, who do you think will get hired?
Dick If you do what you always did, you'll get what you always got!! Learn from the mistakes of others, trust me........you can't live long enough to make all the mistakes yourself, I tried !! That is so true, so true, so true. I turned many people away from working in the insurance business because of poor spelling or pronunciation.

Feller let me give you a preveiw of coming attractions of  "living life to it's fullest", from some-one who's been there, and done alot of it.

I have had broken fingures, toes, a foot, both elbows and 9 ribs. Dislocated most every joint, some 4 or 5 times. 3 hernated disic in my neck and 4 in my lower back.
I have degenerative arthrits which takes care has taken of my cartilage, so bad I'm afraid to sneeze or cough hard if I'm not setting down or hanging on to some thing. Because I'll find the floor quick from the pressure on my spinal cord. Most of my vertabra  are floating  with nothing to hold them in place anymore.
Knees are gone and I can no longer walk very far or for long. If I don't watch how I walk my ankles will go out from under me, because there's nothing left to hold them in place. I use a cane alot of times
Can no longer drive and even riding a chore for very long. Good old uncle arthuritis is in bout every thing else and my hands hurt so bad some days, just picking up a cup of coffee more than I want, let alone take care of my grandkids.
Can't even sit, stand or lay done very long.
Then I've got breathing problems also from living while I can and doing things that I shoulda left alone.

And the funny part is at only 53, I consider myself lucky as H---. I'm still here. I've freinds, who's not.

Go ahead do what ya wants, live while ya can. I just hope I'm still around to say I told you so, when the time comes..

Evening Gang:

Jeff: Thanks for the reminder on the diabetes. I’ve got type II and have been on meds for some time now. My last check up was last week and the doctor was very happy with things. He had my feet checked and there were no problems there. I’m trying to keep on the straight and narrow and check my sugars every morning.

James: You don’t have to run off just because you are going to model a local prototype. I’d like to hear and see about the RRs down under. You keep in touch, OK?

Mikesmowers: I am located about 10 miles west of Ft. Worth in Parker County. We are running a small ranch with about 20 cows. What’s going on up in OK?

Well I think I’ll head for bed. Have a good one all.

Well Good evening all –

Hope this finds everyone in good health. I’m sorry I have not been around the last few days (weeks?) but work has me being a very busy guy as of late. Not that I am working a lot of extra hours, but most days when I get home, all I do is take care of the cat and bird, then get my dinner, a shower and off to bed for some rest.

Anyway, I don’t have much to report on any front at this time. I’m slowly working the separation with the ex. She’s been sick as of late, so I have been helping her out in getting her son from daycare and taking him home to her after I get out of work. Weather has not been helping me with any exercising (rain, rain, go away…..) so I’ve been lounging and watching some good baseball and some so-so football. I have yet to watch any hockey, so I can’t comment on that yet.

James –

I am sorry to see / hear that you’re not going to come in to the CS as often. I agree with JW though. Even if you do want to model locally instead of something / place in the US, please don’t stop for that reason. We (I’m not speaking for everyone, but….) can always use new (different) ways of doing (thinking) things. And if it is not new, at least how you are progressing, what obstacles you are running into, as well as everything else that goes into building a layout and modeling a area or prototype. So, how about it???? Please???? Don’t leave us….

Dick / Ed –

Although nothing new has happened with the Sox, other than a new Pitching Coach, I have read a few articles on them talking to Loretta, Alex Gonzalez, and Trot. I guess we’ll have to sit back and wait till the Winter Meetings (we all know this is where all the work for the next season takes place anyways!).

OK all. Have a good evening. I’ll try to stop in more often, but I’m not going to guarantee it right now.

Take care!

Hunter - When we met in January of 2000, you were just a 6 week old pup who walked his way into this heart of mine as the only runt in the litter who would come over to me. And today, I sit here and tell you I am sorry we had to put you down. It was the best thing for you and also the right thing to do. May you now rest in peace and comfort. Love, Dad. 8 June 2010

I love you and miss you Mom. Say hi to everyone up there for me. Rest in peace and comfort. Love, John. 29 March 2017

James glad your stay . you still can get help on ideas from ones here as in electric, doing the ground work the only real difference will be the trains and some of the building , the scenery you still will use some of the same procedures as we would.

Well all not much happening need to run and see if I'm working today as its raining.

              WARNING!!!!!!

         MAD RAILROAD DISEASE

Highly Contagious To Males Of ALL Ages!!

The Symptoms: The afficted becomes confiused and agitated when not near any type of railroad. Will wander around dazed and disoriented, mumbling odd words like: run-bys, coal tipple, and crossovers. Often accused of not listening to wife. At the sight of a railroad, common behavior includes hyperness, sweating, and occasional hooting and hollering. THIS IS NORMAL DO NOT BE ALARMED!!

            This Maddness is NOT fatal.

(exept to people who think trains are gay, stupid, only for small children, and to people who make fun of you at school/work of having this disease)

Cure (or something that keeps the infected person at ease)

Hospitalization is NOT NESSARY!! The affected must be surrounded by items of railroad interest. Should be encouraged to spend time sharing ideams other sufferers and Railroad fans. Train chasing and photography shoots will help. Incase of emergency contact your nearest train club or have to affected spend a weekend at local train yard.

This has been a public anouncement.
